Blurry Screen

When I hook my macbook up to my hp monitor using a mini dp to hdmi adapter my screen is noticably blurry. This has not happened before when I used the same configuration on my imac. Recommendations?

I imagine he managed to activate one of the Universal Access facilities - this traps a lot of people. E.G., holding Control and using the scroll wheel on a mouse will zoom the screen, as will Command-Option-= if Zoom is enabled (Command-Option-8). You can also turn the screen negative.

It installed new drivers, but it has left my screen is blurry. i've check all the resolution settings and whatnot and everything seems to be fine. i believe there is something wrong with the driver. how can i fix this problem?
    thanks,
    aaron

    Thanks for this Info!
I had the same issue with my Macbook. After installing Bootcamp 2.1 a blurry screen .
Unfurtunately i could not install the ATI driver because the "Check" Tool from AMD denies to install drivers.
I research the Intel website and found are more recent driver für my Intel chipset xx 965. After applying that driver everything was fine

    HELPP!!!

Do you see everything out of focus right from when the unit turns on, or only after getting to the desktop?  You should try a PRAM reset to start.  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379

  • Macbook Pro blurry screen

I was using my macbook pro and the screen went blurry for a split second, but quickly returned to its normal state. So far this has only happened once. Is this normal?

I've never had it happen on either of my MBPs. Could have just been a temporary glitch. I would suggest a trip to the Apple Store if it begins occuring on a regular basis and you can replicate for Apple techs.
If it doesn't happen again - I wouldn't worry about it.

  • Weird floating, blurry screen

I had turned my computer off over the holidays and booted it up when I returned and the screen is kind of blurry. But worse is the screen seems too big for the monitor. As I move the mouse the screen moves with it. The dock at the bottom of my screen goes away if I move the mouse to the top of my screen and conversely the top menu bar goes away if I move the mouse to the bottom. I tried checking the screen settings in System preferences but that doesn't help.
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance!

Thank you!!! Thank you!! That was so weird. Totally fixed it. Not sure how that got set there but thank you!

  • Blurry screen after System Recovery

I ran the "System Recovery" from the recovery manager and it re-installed the system.  Now I need to go through the set up again but the display is blurry.  I assume it is because the resolution is not set correctly.  But because I can't see what is on the screen I don't know how to proceed. I have a HDMI hooked up to a monitor.
I tried to hook up to monitor by the VGA port but the screen displays "no signal."
Anyone know how to adjust the resolution settings for the factory image?

When you start up, does the HP logo look blurry? I'm just trying to narrow it down to a windows problem.

  • Slighly Blurry Screen on Ibook g3, Os X problem?

Just recently for no aparent reason, my screen on my iBook g3, has become blurry on what seems like the apple letters, it think. Like when i click airport, the names are blurry, and all of the other letters...
    Any1 know whats wrong?

    Hi,
    Try this ...
Text on the screen looks blurry or jagged
If the fonts on your screen look fuzzy, blurry, or jagged, you may want to adjust the font smoothing style or change the size at which fonts are smoothed.
To smooth the fonts on your screen:
Open System Preferences and click Appearance.
Choose a style from the "Font smoothing style" pop-up menu.
Choose a point size from the "Turn off text smoothing for font sizes" pop-up menu.
For all text in the font size you choose, and smaller, text will not be smoothed.
If your fonts look jagged, you may need to decrease the point size so smaller text is smoothed. If fonts look fuzzy, increase the point size.

  • Blurry Screen on lower resolutions

I've recently got a ThinkPad T61p from work, and its a great machine, however the native screen resolution comes at 1920 x 1200 which is too much for my eyes ...
whenever I change the resolution to a lower value the screen becomes blurry!
I searched the net but found nothing that could help, i upgraded the nvidia drivers but that didn't do much good either ...
I noticed something though ... in the nvidia control panel, under Display -> Change flat panel scaling
the "use my display's built in scaling" option is grayed out, when i tried to disable scaling all together, the blurryness was gone, but now of course the screen is not filling the display ...
usually there is a scaling option in the system bios so i restarted and went into the bios but found nothing there either ...
does anybody have the T61p with the same probelm ? any known fix ?

the only option in this case aside to get an external monitor, is change the DPI for text in your computer. For Windows Vista, In the desktop, right click and select 'Personlization option', in the new window, choose in the left panel, the 'Adjust font size (DPI)' and chose 120 DPI instead 96, that means that the text is going to be greather and easy to read but in your current resolution still will be a smal text. you can try to mix this option with the 1680 X 1050 resolution or 1440 X 900 to see if one adjust better to your needs. I hope it's useful.

  • Fuzzy, blurry screen

I have recently noticed that my screen suddenly goes fuzzy, all windows open and the desktop blurs out for a few seconds, then it seems to correct itself. Is the monitor on my G5 going? The sysem is just 2 years old.
    G5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Sounds like you have a CRT. When this happens, is there a noise associated with the blurriness? Sometimes CRTs arc over internally and the grid voltages collapse and come back slowly like that.

why are my screen snap shots blurry on OS X Tiger 10.14.11, when the snap shots in MacOS 9.2.2 are clear?

  • Lenovo Yoga 3 14" Keyboard and Mouse, Blurry Screen and GT 940m

Hey Guys So today my girlfriend bought a Lenovo Yoga 3 14" with the Geforce 940m graphics card.Straight away we notice some of the images and fonts from different applications seemed a bit to blurry for a modern computer so we decided to check through the forums and some of them said to adjust the text from its default (Larger). Then we tried minecraft and it then we notice you can not move in the game while looking. So this means that you move than use the mouse which is very annoying. Another thing we notice in the game was the computer was not using the 940m graphics card it was still using the Intel 5500 HD graphics. So my question is1. How do we stop the screen from being blurry?2. How can we move and use the trackpad?3. How do I make the Geforce GT 940m the main graphics card? Thanks in advance!

  • Blurry Screen HELP!!

    Hey All,
I am new to the Mac world, and today is my first day using my new Macbook Pro -- but I am having a few problems. When I move my cursor over certain images it gets blurry, specfically the text, and I have to move it side to side over the same text to unblur things.
Has any one else had these problems?? I need some help, thanks.
    -Eddy

Ok, I've just been going through some other threads here in the forum, and your solution to the problem is very likely at the end of this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1017281&tstart=15
In short, there may be some third party software that (presumably accidentally) turns on your display zoom function (it's normally turned off), resulting in this odd effect. You may also accidentally have hit the command-alt-8, the zoom-option short cut. (The poster in the aforementioned thread suspects Parallels: you don't happen to run that on your new MPB? I do, so perhaps it indeed is a bug in Parallels. Or even Windows. Would be hard to find out for sure though.)
Since you're new to the Mac world, here's how to turn it off: go to system preferences, find 'universal access' and turn off the Zoom option. Clear bright letters again!
    Hope that works.

I took a shot from a website and imported it to FCPx.  It's clear in the event part but when I put it in the project time line it looks blurry. Anything I can do to fix that?
    Thanks
