Blurry Scroll Bars on Cover Flow

I know this has been posted last month, but no one answered it. Is there any fix to the blurry scroll bars in iTunes? It's a little embarrassing to have my cool Apple look gross in iTunes...

Blurry Scroll Bar in Cover Flow. Help?

Well... i've had my new macbook for about 3 weeks. have about 100 songs in there so far. on itunes. today my friend sent me mp3 files and the moment i got them i put them in itunes. the problem is i discovered that after putting the songs on itunes, the scroll bar on the cover flow became blurry.
i quit itunes and started it again and the scroll bar was normal again. but then i went into the itunes store and came back to my music, in cover flow and the scroll bar was blurry again.
what does this mean? VIRUS?
obviously something is not steady here. any words? thanks.

This definitely isn't a show-stopper, but it is annoying (Don't fret -- its not a virus. Nor does it have anything to do with your Music collection.). I have the same glitch with Cover Flow. I've found its relatively easy to (temporarily) fix: all you need to do is resize the iTunes window (by just 1 pixel will do).
Hopefully this is more permanently fixed in a future version of iTunes.
For those who are wondering what I'm talking about, when I open iTunes in Cover Flow mode the horizontal scroll bar (slider) is nice and crisp. However, if I switch to another application, or simply click into another section of iTunes (like Movies, or the iTunes Store) and then click back to my Library of Music, the Cover Flow horizontal scroll bar often appears fuzzy, or blurry. Resizing the iTunes window temporarily fixes the glitch (at least, until I switch sections again).

Scroll speed in Cover Flow???

I love the cover flow view in finder and iTunes but I have a the new magic mouse and the scroll speed is just too fast...
I have a hard time landing on the object I want, I just go back and forth back and forth over it...
Is there a way to adjust scroll speed in that specific view?

Open System Preferences/Mouse and check your Tracking setting.

Fuzzy iTunes cover art scroll bar

Just recently got my Black Macbook Core 2 Duo with 2 Gig Ram and a 160 Gig HD. After I installed my music library into iTunes, the left-right scroll bar in cover art display has become quite fuzzy. A quit and restart solves it temporarily, but it also returns after some play time. Never happens with our Core Duo MacBook Pro. I see some others posted a similar question under iTunes without response. Is this fuzziness the product of the integrated video card in the MacBook? I sure hope not - I would have hoped better for its capabilities than that!

I also have noticed the fuzzy Coverflow bar on my 1.83 cd macbook. It occurs intermittently in both my library and the itunes store. Also, the column headers (Artist, Genre, Song) sometimes refresh incorrectly so I am left with big black unreadable blobs. This is corrected if I switch back and forth from Coverflow. None of my other macs have either of these issues. Itunes is the only program I've used that displays these graphical anomolies. My initial guess is that it had to do with the gma950, although why it would only happen with itunes, I do not know.

I'm also on a Core 2 Duo MacBook and have this same problem. I'm running 10.4.8 on my MacBook and my older, G5-powered iMac. I don't have the problem on the iMac.
I also sometimes see the categories atop each column (song, artist, rating, etc.) run together and become unreadable. A simple quit and restart of iTunes always fixes the problem, but it does always return.
Could this be an Intel systems only problem?

Repeatable Crash - Cover Flow

The iPod app consistently crashes when I scroll around in cover flow. The crash is repeatable, speed is not a factor. It will crash if I go slow or fast. After reboot, it will still crash but I can scroll a bit longer before it crashes again.
I have NEVER been able to get from A to Z without a crash.
Am I alone in this?

I can't say that you're alone, but I certainly don't have that issue. 996 songs (also 2.0, 5A347), can scroll end to end and back with no trouble, slow or fast.
Does it crash in a specific place? Could be a problem with some of your cover art...

Cover Flow Scroll Bar is Blurry

Hey,
In cover flow, I notice that the scroll bar is blurry. I've found a temporary fix for it by resizing the cover flow window which resets the horizontal scroll bar to a clear, crisp image. However, as soon as you go back to whatever source (Libary, or any of my playlists) you were originally in, the scroll bar appears blurry again.
Does anyone else have this problem, and know a way to fix it?

Why does my cover flow scroll bar look like THIS?

here you can see how very often the scrollbar looks like. is there any known reason for that? when I change the size of the cover flow part of the window it changes back to normal. but very often, even in full screen view, the scroll bar looks this blurred...
any suggestions?

Cover Flow does not show song title or scroll bar

Cover Flow only shows a distorted "box" instead of the song info and the scroll bar. Why is this?

Cover Flow up and visible, but no movement when trying to scroll

Ok, So I looked through the forum, ran a search topic and found several references to Cover Flow, but nothing that quite matched my situation.
I just downloaded and installed Safari 4. Started it up, choose to activate the cover flow option.
It comes up on the screen (no fully viewable pages, but they seem to be added as I visit them). However I cannot get the pages to flow through to be viewed.
I can click on one side arrow or the other and the highlight bar on the list moves, but not the visual pages. Same result with the sideways scroll. I looked through help and I can (and do) use cover flow all the time on my iTunes, so it should be working in Safari 4, yes? But it's not.
Any ideas how to correct this?

Hi,
Did it when I got home from work. No joy. Decided to download the program (I originally got it by way of the software update), deleted whatever references I could find to Safari including old installers/programs. Went to all the places you suggested originally to try removing and trashed them basically tried to clean the computer of all reference to Safari.
Re installed, and believe it or not all my bookmarks came back though I had reset the safari completely so my keychain is wiped. Sigh.... We I'll just have to re-enter them all (hope I can remember them... grin). The silver lining though is I've gotten rid of the flotsam in the key chain.
The cloud to that silver lining is still no joy with the cover flow. I also just thought about this, but in the top sites on my main account, nothing automatically highlights when I run my cursor over it. It never has. But in the second user I created I have Cover Flow without problem, and on Top Site it came up with a generic list supplied by Apple that not only highlights when the cursor runs over the pane, but at the bottom the URL of the site comes up as well. Not so on the main user.
I know it will be a pain, I'm not even sure HOW I would go about migrating all of my original user stuff into the secondary, but I'm getting tempted to do that.
Or maybe I'll just delete it and put the old version in if I could figure out how to find an older version. I know others have asked to do that since they just don't care for even the working version, but I must confess I'm a bit ticked if I have to do that since I really like the idea of the Cover Flow and Top Sites.
Where would I find a fix if it ever came out later?

Cover Flow album art and scroll buttons scrambled (7.5)

Hello, Everything has been fine with my i tunes but i opened it the other day and the cover flow view is playing up. All the album covers/podcast displays etc are just scrambled (a series of horizontal coloured lines like a faulty TV.)
the scroll bar and the show full screen buttons are also shown scrambled. if you play a song the album art shows in the left corner fine but the flow art is still scrambled. any ideas anyone? i have tried lots of restarts but it is no better. the only thing i have done is windows update which did some .net updates. regards john

7.3 is broken.
I replaced it with 7.2 and all is well until they fix the problem. This list is full of this problem!

Blurry Cover Flow on iPhone?

Hey everyone,
I noticed in 1.1.2 and now in 1.1.3, that my cover art in cover flow view will blur after a few flicks and only become focused if I either:
1. Exit the iPod app and enter it again.
2. Start a CD, then go back.
Both things work for a few flicks then its back to blur again. A lot of my art tagged with my files is at least 400x400 or higher. (Older stuff being 300x300, new stuff being 500x500 plus)
Any thoughts on this?

im having same problem too. when i turn phone and make it go to cover flow.. it does it but the first like 3 album pictures left and right are in good resolution but then the ones after that are less clear and when i scroll back to the album i originally was at it becomes blurry too. lol i had my songs skipping and i did the thing where u unplug internet and then sync phone well it worked but recently all my album pictures are gone lol.

why do my tiff files (primarily) look so blurry when I switch to cover flow view on my new mac? I've seen posts about this issue as far back as 2007- has apple still not fixed this, or is it just me? As a photographer it's a major annoyance to have to zoom in on each image to get a good look at it. Little help?

I actually figured out the answer to this one myself, with the help of someone's previous post about creating new thumbnails with a little app called CocoThumbX, which can be used to strip image files of their thumbnails and create new ones. I almost gave up on it, because the new thumbnails I was generating from it didn't show up any clearer. But then I used it to remove thumbnails only, without creating new ones afterward, and the images now look as they should in cover flow. I don't know if there are any negative side effects of not having thumbnails, or even where the original thumbnails were located in the system, but wherever needed, the computer seems to be generating it's own thumbnails for the images, and they're looking good. Hope this helps.

Cover Flow Images Blurry--numbers and pages files only

I was using the Cover Flow view in Finder today, and noted that the images associated with Apple software files--pages and numbers were blurry. pdfs, Word or Excel files show up crisp and clear, as do images.
This ocurs on both my iMac and MacBook. Is there a preference setting somewhere that needs to be set to get the file "images" to show up sharp? (I had a similar problem with .jpgs created in Photoshop, and learned there was a setting in PS to not save thumbnail images that solved the sharpness problem there.)

I use Creative Cloud storage. Want them there. At this point, I can't do that at all. It won't open anything not saved there.
In the past people have reported problems with saving Numbers 3 documents to cloud services other than iCloud. For example, see this thread. For a while even Dropbox didn't work well, though Dropbox has since fixed that. I think the problems have something to do with the fact that a Numbers document isn't a "file"; it's actually a collection of files organized in a folder that looks like one file in Finder. I understand that the Numbers 3 format is optimized for fast cross-platform sync; in that respect, it is certainly a big step forward from previous versions. Some cloud services seem to trouble with the format, though, and that may be what you are seeing.
