Blurry Videos

I am a classroom teacher "flipping" instruction.  I create videos in Explain Everything then upload them to YouTube and my camera roll.  I upload videos from my camera roll to iTunes U, and students watch the videos on their iPads.  The videos are blurry when viewed on the iPad through the app (not when viewed from my camera roll).  Any ideas?

Blurry videos are usually a sign that the video decoder is downgrading the bitrate because of a poor quality or low-bandwidth connection. Some things to try to collect more data:
Are the videos blurry when you upload them to your Mac or PC via iPhoto or iTunes and play them on your Mac or PC?
If your course points to your YouTube videos, does the video quality improve for the students if you upload the video directly to your materials library via iTunes U for iPad or Course Manager?
If you want to continue to use YouTube, the player offers different resolution and quality options in the player. Can you improve playback quality with a different setting?
If changing YouTube's settings improves the playback quality, consider using those settings as your defaults.
Does that help?

  • Blurry Video Exports

    Hello!
I am working on a new project using the CS4 Master Collection and experiencing some issues using Premier Pro CS4.
I've created a new project in Adobe After Effects CS4 and exported a quicktime movie with high quality "animation" settings
applied to it.  The animation exports perfectly and is as crisp and clear as it gets.
After importing this video into Premiere, applying some audio and and a title, then exporting, I get blurry video.
I have tried almost 30 different settings to export the video even using the animation setting in Premier. ( which ends up looking like a compressed .gif file! )
No matter what I try, it's always blurry and compressed looking.  So far the best setting for quality is using the "Apple Intermediate Codec".
However, it's still not comparable to the After Effects Settings.
Here are my settings for After Effects:
    Quality: Best
    Resolution: Full
    Size: 720x480
    Frame rate: 29.97
    Format: Quicktime Movie
Pixel Aspet Ratio: D1 / DV NTSC (0.91)
    Output Info: Animation
    Channels: RGB
    Depth: Millions of Colors
    And my Premiere Project Settings:
    Editing Mode: Quicktime DV NTSC
    Timebase: 29.97
    Frame Size: 720x480
Pixel Aspect Ratio: D1 / DV NTSC (0.9091)

  • Playing youtube h264 (html5 mode), always blurry video

    Html5 player, H264 format.
In h264, all videos a little blurry.
If you i use a flash or vp9(html5 player) it's all right, everything is clear.
Here are two screen to compare:
    http://www.imagebam.com/image/68212d380509320 (h264 (html5)
    http://www.imagebam.com/image/ab4db6380509306 (flash h264)

    <blockquote>
Did you check that you get the same resolution
    </blockquote>
Yes, the resolution is the same.
No matter what resolution in h264 (html5), always blurry video, as provided in the picture.
But if video in vp9, then there is no blur, video clear and sharp.
For the test, I checked out the video in chrome and Opera browsers, html5 mode (h264), the picture there is the same as the link "(flash h264)" in first post.
I hope it then change for the better(future firefox builds), watch this blurring is not particularly pleasant.

  • Blurry Videos iPhone 5s

The videos I receive thru Text Messages or iPhone Messaging are always blurry when played back.  Any idea how to correct his problem?  My friend has the same iPhone 5s as me, and has no problem viewing the videos when sent to both of us thru a group message.  (she's also using IOS 8)  Mine are too blurry to even make out who's in the video.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

There are no settings you can change in iOS that will fix this. If there are settings within the app... that's something you'd have to ask the app developer.

  • Blurry video once burnt to DVD

I have recently uploaded some footage from a JVC Hard Disk Camcorder to PE9. I have then added this footage (about 2-3 hours worth) onto the timeline without any transitions or effects. I have played the footage back in PE9 and there are no quality issues apparent. However, when I burn this footage to a Disc (DVD) and play it back from the disc the quality is not the same, it's very blurry/shaky.
If anyone can help me fix this problem it would be really appreciated!
    Cheers!

You do realize that AVCHD footage is high-def and has 4-6 times the resolution of standard DVD video, right? So a DVD can't possibly look even remotely as detailed as you original AVCHD.
Also, you don't say how you're judging the quality of your video -- but it should look just fine on a TV. If you're playing it on a computer at full-screen, however, you're blowing it out to waaaaaaay beyond its resolution, since your computer monitor is likely at least 1280x1024 while your DVD video is only 720x480.
In addition, your DVD video is interlaced, while your computer video is not. So, depending on which software you're using to play your video, you may also be seeing interlacing artifacts on your computer that will not be such an issue on a TV.
In short, there are a lot of factors to consider. And your video editing software is the least likely to be the factor affecting the quality of your final DVD.

  • How would you edit a blurry video with such lightning?

Hello there! It's my first video and I really need your help guys. I have no idea how to adjust this to look less blurry, the lighting was bad so nothing works as I would want to. Saturation just makes it more blurry, same for contrast. Sharp doesn't work at all. I've already tried to mess with three way color corrector but I have no idea which to choose, and anyway it won't remove the blurry effect for sure. Just give me some combinations, I hope someone already made a room video look nice. The problem was the camera - it was recorded with my phone, so that's probably the main factor. I work in CS6, and it's an amazing program, props to all of you that know it well!

Have you tried the Make Beuatiful Filter?  Just kidding!  First of all if you want good video, don't use your phone.  Video production is not cheap and you can't cut corners if you want it to look good.  Okay enough of the lecture.
You could try shriking the video, that may make it look less blurry.  If you shot in in HD, resize it down to an SD size.  Not the best for full screen playback, but mayby good enough for youtube.
Look into renting a small video package for your next shoot.  You will be glad you did.
    Good luck.

  • 640x480 forced to 720x480 causing blurry video

Ok, after a few head bangers, the issue fo the blurry seems to come form the fact that PRE does not (not that I can find) allow for a start up template to be 640x480?
So what does this mean? It means that the clostest I can get is 720x480 and any video shot at 640x480 is going to be stretched to 720 wide, causing the video to instantly be blurred!
Under the Interpret Footage (Organize > Project > Right-Click Footage) I can change the Pixel Aspect Ratio, but there is NOTHING that models the 640x480 format?
So I created an image that is 720x480 on CS4 and inserted it. This image has boundary markers for a 640x480 center.
I then lay in the 640x480 video clip and nothing is lining up?
Both are resized and both are becoming blurry because of this resizing?
    Please advise.

If you've got your Monitor zoom magnification set to 100%, you are indeed seeing a 720x480 pixel image, cs. Remember, your computer monitor is likely set to something like 1280x960 or something -- so 720x480 is only about 1/4 of that screen real estate.

  • Blurry videos when sent to me on iphone5 and vice versus

WHen I get videos from my wife's iPhone 5 to my 5 they are blurry and same when I send to her

The only thing that really jumps out at me with your script is $HTTP_POST_VARS.  That is a deprecated function as of PHP 4. something I don't remember the exact number.  It is possible if your host upgraded the PHP installation that the function is now replaced by the simpler $_POST global variable ( http://php.net/manual/en/reserved.variables.php ).
Also the easiest way to test this type of thing is to print your email text to the screen and stop the PHP script there before the mail can execute.  Then you can check out what variables exist and what don't before finishing your script.  Also I hope you have left stuff out for security reasons, because right now you appear to have no way to validate that a form was submitted in the first place.

  • REALLY blurry video

I love iChat ... in fact, I've used it all over the world to talk to my wife back here in the U.S. and our picture from as far away as Beijing has been crystal clear. Tonight, for the first time, we tried adding another person for a three way iChat (we used our second computer which has a seperate user name). It worked as advertised... the screens split...but both pictures became REALLY.....REALLY blurry.
Does anyone else have experience with iChatting with multiple users...and do you usually get a good picture, or does the quality always degrade when you add new people?

Is the Internet connection able to support a multi-way chat even if the other two were outsiders ?
Is the internet connection fast enough for two video chat and one of those to be Host ?
Unless the Upload speed of your internet connection is over twice the speed needed for a one way Hosting (i.e. both the other are outsiders) then there will be some dropping off.
The MINIMUM for a Mulitchat is 384k both Up and Download.
The MINIMUM for a 1-1 Chat is 100k
Two of you behind the same router = 768k
Realistically though there is always some change in the apparently quality as the other person's connection speed and processor are also a factor.

  • Why is my 5s sending blurry videos?

I just got my phone and when sending videos to other apple phones, they come out blurry. How can I fix this problem??

    Hello 2bblues,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
I'd like you to first check your Accessibility settings on the iPhone to ensure grayscale is not enabled.
See the screen in grayscale. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility, then turn on Grayscale.
    Invert Colors and Grayscale
    Take care,
    Alex H.

  • 2009 Macbook to HDMI: Low quality/blurry video

I have a Macbook Pro from mid-2009, Apple's Mini Display Port to VGA Adapter, and a VGA Adapter to HDMI cable. My computer connects to the HDMI input on my TV just fine, but when I try to show a video that has been downloaded to my computer on the other display, the resolution of the video is good, but the video is not clear- the frames don't change quickly enough, even though it is set at 60 HZ. Will downloading Mountain Lion fix the solution? Or is my computer just too old? I've tried the same cables with my friend's 2011 or 2012 Macbook Air and the video on the display is seamless. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Blurry video from Isight, hardware or software issue?

The last time I used my iSight was a few months ago with 10.4.3 or 10.4.4. I have updated to 10.4.5 and my iSight shows a blurry stretched image with lines going vertical. I am not sure if this is just a coincidence, or if my iSight was damaged durring my time of not using it.
If any one has had this problem, or knows for certian that it is hardware, please let me know. Also, if there is a way to "rollback" the update for troubleshooting purposes, please let me know. Thank you.

Hello CurtisP. Welcome to Apple Discussions.
I am using the 10.4.5 update with good results. If you updated properly, I strongly doubt that the update is causing your problem. It is possible that the download or the update itself did not work properly.
First, verify that you have not added other hardware or software since you last used your iSight that may have resulted in Possible hardware or software conflicts.
As noted in the "camcorder substitute" section of Using iSight, it is not unusual for people who store their iSights for long periods, particularly inside iSight's plastic shipping case or in places like briefcases or desk drawers that move, to find that their iSight has stopped working.
If the suggestions in How to test your iSight to ensure it is functional do not help resolve your problem, you might also want to try the 10.4.5 Combo Update as suggested in How I Update My Mac OS X before you see your Apple Service Tech.
The only way to "rollback" to an earlier version is to Reinstall Mac OS X to the installer version you own on disc. You must then reapply the updates that would take you to the version that you desire. Even if you want to use a version earlier than 10.4.5, I suggest you use that version's Combo Updater to get there. Using the combo will save you the time of upgrading stepwise, and it seems more reliable to me than using the "Software Update..." method.
Please let us know how it goes for you.
    Jim

  • Why is the video blurry on the iPad2?

When I watch a video on the iPad2 , using the ABC Player App, uTube app, TV.com app, Netflix  app or just using websites on sky fire, the video will start out crystal clear but will become so blurry that I can't continue to watch, it will occasionally become clear and then becomes blurry again.  The only time that video remained crystal clear was when I bought a TV show on iTunes.  I have updated to 4.3.3 , I have tried a reset by pushing the home button &amp; the on/off buttons .  Has anyone else had this problem?  What can I do to fix this?  I love my new iPad2 and it has been great except for this.  I know that there is no flash, but I am using the apps and the video is still blurry, any help will be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks, Michelle

All the situations I which you describe "blurry" video, the video is being streamed. When you were watching the purchased video, it was resident on your iPad. That would indicate that the problem is probably a slow internet connection. If the Internet connection isn't fast enough, mthe picture quality of the streamed video will degrade.
