Blurry zoom on my iPad

Just recently when i try to zoom in on a PDF file in my email on my iPad, the file will zoom but is all blurry. It never comes into focus. Not sure if the is is an issue after update with some settings changes. Works fine on my iPhone 5s, but not on the iPad. Checked the settings on my iPad verses iPhone and all are the same. Am i just missing something obvious?

If you want disabled for that you have to go Settings-Wallpapers & Brightness- after you will see your lockscreen wallpaer and your home screen wallpaper, you need to tap on it, After you will see one option PERSPECTIVE ZOOM: ON , Just tap on it it will turn off.

When using Zoom on the iPad, is there a way to keep the keyboard the regular size?

I'm trying the iPad 2, and being visually impaired, I need to use Zoom with it, but having it zoom in on the keyboard makes it very frustrating because typing takes a very long time. This is really what's going to make or break me buying an iPad. The apps for reading things like textbooks and other documents are fantastic, but the issue with the keyboard being zoomed in is making me wary about buying it. I know that I could use a blootooth keyboard, but that doesn't work very well when I'm in a lecture trying to type out these notes on my lap.
If anyone has any info about this, that would be really great.

Unless you enabled Find My iPad on it before it was stolen then there isn't any way to try and locate it and/or send a message or remotely wipe it (you can't disable the iPad). If you did enable it then you could try locating it either via http://icloud.com on a computer or Find My iPhone on another device - but that will only work if it's connected to a network and the device hasn't already been wiped and/or Find My iPad disabled on it.
I assume that you've reported it to the police (?). You should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc., and if it was a cellular model then you should also contact your carrier

Captivate course crashes when zooming in on iPad

Hi,
I am having a weird problem and am wondering if anyone else has exprienced something similar. I've published a course as html5 (Captivate7, includes the patch from November), SCORM 1.2.
The course itself, and it's content, plays just fine on the iPad. However, whenever I zoom in, it crashes Safari. I have the course posted to our LMS.
To test if it's the LMS, I've uploaded the course to scormcloud, and it has played fine. However, I noticed, that user zooming seems to be disabled on scormcloud, so I couldn't actually check if it is simply the zooming in, that causes the issue, or if it is my LMS.
Has anyone else experienced this issue, or has anyone figured out a way to avoid this? I know it's possible to disable zooming into websites using meta tags, but am not sure how to make that happen with a file published from Captivate.

I was dealing with this same issue an my iPad Mini. Here's what I did yesterday and I haven't seen the problem since:
1) Go to Settings >> Safari
2) Turn on Private Browsing
3) Clear Cookies & Data
I cannot guarantee this will always solve the problem, but it has worked for me.
Let me know if that works for anyone else :)
P.S. I'm a developer myself and I would give the software developers a little slack. Programming is more crazy than people think. Most likely they expected the iPad Mini to work exactly like the full-size iPad, but bugs always pop up. It will get fixed :) Chrome is always an alternative if Safari is struggling.

If the screen is zoomed-in then try double-tapping the screen with 3 fingers and see if that zooms it back out - and if it does then set Settings > General > Accessibility > Zoom 'off'. If it doesn't zoom you back then try triple-clicking the home button and see if that turns it off, and if it does you can then change what a triple-click does via Settings > General > Accessibility > Triple-Click Home.

Zooming Problem on iPad and iPhone?

I have a muse site only desktop version is designed. While checking it on phone it looks ok but i can't zoom in and zoom out. Anybody know what's wrong?.
On android it's fine i can zoom in and out the problem is only in IOS.

A 1 pixel gap appears on webpage on the ipad or when zoomed on a Mac with Firefox 4

I'm having an issue with a website having a 1 pixel gap under various OS's and browsers.

When viewed on an iPad it shows a 1 pixel gap on the right side of the link icons. When you zoom on the iPad, the gap disappears and reappears at random zoom factors.
When viewed on my Mac Pro under Firefox (version 4) it is fine to start, but when zoomed, random images have the 1 pixel gap sometimes above and below or to the left or right or sometimes both above/below and left/right.
I'm not over worried about the behaviour of Firefox...since it is only when the page is zoomed.
When I view it on my Windows PC, I have no issue with the gap under Firefox 3 or 4, or IE.
Any thoughts on what is going on?

Have you thought of entering the following code at the very top of your CSS file?
                margin: 0;
                padding: 0;
                border: 0;
This should reset the browser of your iPad and FF in Mac. I use neither so I can't test it at my end. the above code is not likely to affect any other standards compliant browsers.

When rapidly tapping my ipad 2 screen, it zoomed in really far and now I can't zoom out of it, pan around the screen, or power off.

This has made it basically unusable, when I've only had my ipad for 3 days. What can I do?

In the event that you turned on Zoom in Settings>General>Accessibilty>Zoom>On .... Try triple clicking the home button and if that returns the screen to normal - go the settings and shut it off. You can also try double tapping with three fingers and drag to change Zoom.
If you didn't enable Zoom, reboot the iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Cannot send documents from my ipad to my email

I have an iPad air. I love it. .I have always been able to send myself documents ( ex: knitting patterns I have downloaded as pdf) . Or If I find an intereting webpage I would send the link to myself. lately, I send the info to my email and I can hear the zoom sound the iPad makes when I send something. but I never receive the item in my email. I spoke twice today to tech support but nothing they suggested works, I closed down and reset everything. any ideas?

Viewing a PDF fullscreen on a 16:9 TV from iPad via Apple TV

I am trying to view a PDF from my iPad3 on my HD-TV using AppleTV 2. All works well except for the fact that due to screen aspect ratio (4:3 iPad vs. 16:9 TV) I end up with black bars left and right. So how can I get the PDF fullscreen on the TV? Is there any reliable App or any other workaround you can recommend?

If you want the dispay on your TV to zoom when you zoom on your iPad, use mirroring instead of basic AirPlay:
Basic AirPlay: Assuming both devices are on the same network and that AirPlay is not turned off on the Apple TV, then simply tap on the screen when you are watching content you wish to stream to your Apple TV, then tap the airplay icon that appears in the control bar, choose the Apple TV from the menu that appears.
Mirroring: When displaying the content you wish to mirror on the iPad 2 (or better), iPad Mini, iPhone 4S (or better), double tap the home button (quickly) and swipe the bottom row of apps to the right to reveal the playback controls, tap the AirPlay icon and select your Apple TV from the list of available devices.
If you have a recent iPhone (i.e. one with a 16:9), mirroring will fill your TV screen.

The iPad 2 camera is not the equivalent of the iPhone 3GS which has a 3-megapixel camera (resolution: 2048x1536 pixels). The iPod 2 rear-facing camera is really for HD video (1280x720 which is less than a megapixel).
To get the best pictures shoot in good light and don't use the digital zoom. The iPad 2 camera is not intended for high quality still photography.

How do I remove the header/footer when printing from ipad safari?

I'm trying to print invoices from a web app I'm using in safari on my ipad1. When I print there doesn't seem to be anyway not to include the header and footer that prints by default with Safari. I'd rather not have to use a second app just to print and go back and forth to the browser. Any ideas on this?
The printing itself is no issue at all and I'm using an HP6500A plus over an airport extreme in case you need those details.

I have been bumping up against this issue in the last few days. I have redone my output as PDF and that works OK - i.e. There are no Safari footer details on the AirPrint printed page.
But now I find that PDF documents frequently print with white space bands across the page (chopping off some of the text). I can even replicate this when pinch zooming on my iPad with a PDF document. So I suspect a bug in the PDF processing functionality within IOS. I am running IOS 4.3 so I had better update to see if the issue goes away.

Re-download digital copy for new iPad?

I've acquired a number of movies via the Blu-Ray/Digital Copy bundles at retail. They now look somewhat blurry on the new iPad.
Does anyone know if Apple has made higher-res versions of these digital copies available, and if so, how I might go about re-downloading them?
While iTunes sells the movies in HD, I shouldn't have to re-purchase a movie I already own on Blu-Ray as well as the digital download...?

The digital copies that come with those blu ray bundles are in standard definition, they always have been and most likely probably will always be just standard definition. Even if those downloads originated for iTunes.
With the announment of the new apple tv being capable of 1080p resolution, and with the announcement of movies from certain movie studios being available in the iCloud. The movies are steamed to the new apple tv in 1080p, but only if those movies are available in iTunes, and only if those movies are provided in iTunes in 1080p resolution.
As with the new movies in the iCloud and how that pertains to your devices like the iPad (doesn't matter if it's the 1,2 or 3 model) iTunes doesn't steam those "iCoud" movies to your device it physically downloads it in standard definition only.
Sorry for the disappointment, but that comes directly from Apple representatives in both iTunes and iCloud support.
