Blutooth discovery on startup fault

This fault has been with me from new- Almost every startup I am presented with the bluetooth mouse dialogue and an inoperable mouse pointer. I do not have a bluetooth anything and every conceivable reference to bluetooth is unticked in bluetooth preferences. I have to unplug my usb mouse, re- plug to get a moving mouse pointer and dismiss the dialogue.
It's very annoying. I have no bluetooth devices and as I say, all prefs to discover etc and not ticked in system prefs.
Any clues?

    I'm researching this now. I have the same problem. Here is what I'm comming up with. Is that there is a corruptioin in the registry (I know... big surprise with WIndows). And/or/related is that there is some corruption with the user profile. I'm not an IT guy so take my assesment with a grain of salt but this is how it's looking to me.
    Solution that might work:
    Launch into the command prompt as an administrator and run "sfc /scannow". for windows 8

  • Tecra 8000/windows98se registry

    I have a tecra 8000 that has an intermittent startup fault
    when its been off for a while. Next boot it has error messages about windows registry and will shut down to repair registry, once it boots properly it is ok , including restarts, unless you leave it for a few hours or the next day. Has anyone any idea what could be the cause

    Hi Barrie,
    Thanks for the reply, I thought it would be in the windows registry too, so since the first post I uninstalled all the programs,(Which have been installed and working ok for about 6 months) but it still had the problem, so I wiped the hard drive,(fdisk, reformat, reloaded operating system)to start fresh, but would you believe it did the same thing. I dont know if the bios could make any difference, but I thought about updating that too, just to cover all bases, but there is no floppy drive and I dont think I can update bios from cd-rom.(I dont have access to an external floppy). Maybe I'll load only the operating system and see what it does

  • LMS 4.2.2 Fault Discovery - Network Adapters Limit Exceeded

    Running fault device discovery after adding approx 50 new devices to LMS DCR. It seems I have reached a limit in DFM with regards to how many device components it can manage. The devices are put into questioned mode and the following error is seen in the Question State Device Report
    Network Adapters Limit Exceeded.The number of Network Adapters discovered by Fault Management exceeded the maximum supported limit.Please check on screen help for more information.
    What is the limit that is being referred to here? Is it independent of the LMS device licence? Where can I see how many "network adapters" LMS is monitoring? I have approx 900 devices being managed by LMS on a 1500 device licence. I am running LMS 4.2.2
    Any light you could shed on this would be appreciated
    Thanks,
    Mark

    I've come across this a few times. I did not find a solution. It went away with a reinstall.
    What seems to happen is that somehow DFM puts all the device interfaces in a managed state.
    It should not.
    It should only manage the ports and interfaces that connect to another managed device.
    There is a hardcoded limit of 40.000 managed ports in DFM.
    Suspected situations:
    On one server where I found this the system locale that I put to us-english, was somehow put back to be-french. Maybe even during the installation, not sure who or what did this.
    On another server the anti-virus which I  had turned off, was turned back on during installation,probably by a policy server.
    Cheers,
    Michel

  • LMS 4.2.2 Fault discovery stalls, never complete

                      Using LMS 4.2.2 on a network with approx 800 devices. Fault discovery runs for long periods without completion, previously known devices sit in learning state for long long periods. Some devices do become known but this seems random as to which ones. Faults are still reported on devices in a learning state, which means there are often many faults reported which are false. However because devices are in learning state the false positives cannot be weeded out. This problem has been occuring since LMS 4.0 so have not had Fault and event monitoring working properly for some time, however would seriously like to utilise this feature.
    Would appreciate any pointers as to where to start... Mark

    I am having the IP vs. device name issue as well. The funny thing is if you hover over the IP of the device in Fault Monitor, you can see the device name listed. I was on a conference call with Cisco recently and pointed this out. One of the reps said the faults and alerts showing IP address issue should be fixed in version 4.2.3, but I don't know if he was basing this on first-hand knowledge or was just assuming. Does anyone know if this is the case?
    As for throttling alerts. I had a false positive alert from a device that I put in a custom fault group and changed the threshold on to keep them from firing. You probably have already resolved this issue, but I didn't see a resolution listed here. You would have to determine if raising a threshold for a device is adequate for your situation.
    Thank you,
    Mark

    Actually Adobe looked into this very thoroughly for me. I was in contact with Durin who passed all of the information I gave them over to their programming department. They then asked for additional information via Email, which is why it's not on this thread. After several back and forth messages they didn't know why it was happening. One thing that they did point out, which I wasn't aware of, is that Audition is one of few Adobe products that requires the SP1 pack for Windows 7. I had just installed 7 on a new system so I hadn't updated to SP1 yet. However, even after I upgraded to SP1 it didn't work. I would recommend checking to be sure you are up to date with Windows, which is why I mentioned this. Maybe it will help you. I know it helped others who had the same issue as we have. I knew that Adobe was working on an update to address so other issues and I was hoping they could figure it out with the update. I installed the update and after that I WAS able to run Audition 2014 after that. So make sure that you do run the update.
    I was always able to get Audition CS6 to work without any issues so while Adobe was trying to figure out why it wasn't working for me I just used CS6. If you have the subscription then you can install CS6 via the Creative Center by going to the Apps and down to the Find New Apps section. Just make sure that you have the  versions turned on. You will find that you can download and install CS6 from there.
    Hope that helps....

  • Thunderbird: Segmentation Fault on startup

    Hello everyone,
    I've installed Arch (64) on my machine yesterday and having some troube with Thunderbird now: It simply doesn't start and in the console it says:
    /usr/lib/thunderbird-2.0/run-mozilla.sh: Zeile 131: 2559 Speicherzugriffsfehler "$prog" ${1+"$@"}
    („Speicherzugriffsfehler" is German vor „segmentation fault")
    Thunderbird *did* work directly after the installation, but later it quit working.
    After some internet research I guess the fault belongs to GTK. I'm using KDE 4.3 and tried the gtk-trick from the wiki (using switch2). I'm not sure, but I think this is the point where Thunderbird stopped working.
    So this is what I've tried so far:
    * pacman -Rsn qtcurve-gtk2 qtcurve-kde4 gtk-theme-switch2
    * delete all dot-files in ~/
    * reinstall thunderbird
    * check memory with memtest86
    But it still doesn't start. Can anybody help me?

  • Blutooth wizard freezes on startup

    Hi,
    Whenever I start up my mac pro the blutooth setup wizard kicks in looking for a blutooth mouse (which I have never owned). It alternates between telling me to make my device discoverable and telling me that no mice were found and nothing else will respond. The keyboard is dead and the mouse cursor wont move.
    I have tried to do a safe boot and to do a force eject so that i can get the system dvd in and try to boot from that but the usual start up key strokes (hold shift, hold mouse button etc) don't seem to work.
    Any suggestions would be great as I am stumped on this one.
    Cheers in advance for any help

    I'm having the same trouble today. I solved a boot-up issue following a power surge, only to end up stuck on the Bluetooth Wizard.
    No one responded to your question. What did you do?

  • Audio not showing onTV monitor  -  HD Startup disk fault.

    In FCP5 my settings have gone awry with Default Audio showing 'everwhere' except in the Timeline Settings Audio Output where I note "Load Audio Preset" refuses to quit and let in Default Audio as my setting.
    I get audio from the computer as if the View setting is not on All Frames when it actually is. The video plays quite clearly in the monitor with the audio coming from the MacPro.
    Repairing and verifying permissions led me to verify HD which produced - "Disk Utility stopped verifying Macintosh HD because the following error was encountered:
    The underlying task reported failure on exit. 1 HFS volume checked. Volume needs repair."
    Using Disk Utility I again tried to get into disk repair for the HD. Greyed out. Used the install startup disk utility and got the same result so I now am stuck and can't finish off projects in FCP because of the audio error.
    Info sent to Apple on their Feedback page. No more heard.
    Help anyone.. ? T.I.A.
    Ron

    You ARE running v5.1 on your intel machine - correct? If not, that could be the source of your problem.
    If you are running v5.1,
    The first time you run FCP Attic, simply TRASH the preferences and restart the system. The program will generate new preference files with the default settings.
    Once you get the application stable - then use Attic to BACKUP the known to be good prefs. If you run into corrupted preferences later, simply RESTORE back to operable versions.
    Diskwarrior 4 is available but, if you are upgrading from an earlier version, it is only available on CD. It takes a couple of weeks to ship it. If you are purchasing a new version, I believe you can download and burn your own CD.
    Reinstalling FCP doesn't fix as much stuff as you'd think.
    Try this.
    -Boot up the computer and go to System Preferences>Accounts
    -Click on the '+' at the bottom of the list of accounts to create a new user account. Call it whatever makes sense but be sure to give it admin privileges.
    -Log out of your current account into the new account.
    -Launch FCP. Do things work as they should?
    -If so, you definately have an FCP preferences issue and Attic usually takes care of these
    -If not, you have other problems and should start thinking about a complete wipe of the hard drive and a reinstall of the OS and applications from scratch.
    report back.

  • Nano screen graphics fault, no startup

    Hey,
    Friends got an Ipod Nano under warranty about 7 months old. When he turns the Nano on the screen displays half the picture of the apple logo and the rest of the display is heavily graphically courupted. After 5 secs the Nano turns off. This happens in a loop when connected via USB and cannot be reset.
    They are going to be RMA'ing the ipod under warranty. Will the warranty repair be free (including shipping?) for this type of issue?
    Any idea what could be the cause of this type of problem? I suggested it could be a mainboard fault or flash memory fault.

    I had that problem after not using my nano for a good week or two after the battery had died. when i plugged it into a PC USB 2.0 slot it did that. just looping and looping, finally as it charged more and more the bright screen stayed longer and longer until finally i got the 'battery charging' screen. Then i could reset it and it would then show the 'do not disconnect' screen. Ive been charging it for about 20 minutes now and its back to normal. give tha ta shot before you send it or pay shipping charges. ****, 45 minutes is worth not spending that much on shipping.
