Blutooth headphones and game sounds

With one day to find this out on my own (with the new OS) I thought I'd ask anyway just to keep you guys on your toes <g>.
When I play a game with my blutooth headphones I do not get any sound. They do work with the phone, though. Does the technology that sends stereo music via blutooth also send sounds from games (and other apps), or will I always need wired headphones for apps?
Thanks!

With A2DP you should be able to get all sound over the bluetooth headphones

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.

• 5.1 headphones and crappy sound

in an effort to get over the hurdle of K8N having the crappiest onboard sound for headphones ever (no bass) , i decided to purchase Gainward 5.1 headphones (with subwoofer).
what happens is the subwoofer channel does not come through at all and the center is barely audible (cant hear dialogue in DVDs). if i unplug the sub/center of the headphones and plug in my speakers sub/center, it is loud and clear.
tried the headphones on another board with realtek alc650:
wow lots of bass, very loud fronts (2 x as loud as K8N), but barely audible rears and centers - at least all the channels are there.
ok so the sub/center channel of the headphones is ok, the sub/center output of my motherboard is ok, so what the hell? underpowered outputs?
basically all i want to know is - does anyone else have 5.1 headphones on K8N - how do they work?
also, if you have 5.1 headphones working nice on another soundcard, which card?

I bought a set of Zalmans which aren't expensive ones . I had to disable on board sound and buy an audigy 2ZS to get them to work. I ended up returning them later. They seemed bulky to me after wearing them for a day. My sennheisers sounded much better, were cheaper, and a lot more comfortable to me. I kept the sound card. The onboard sound on this board is horrible.

• Keyboard and game sounds not working

The keyboard used to vibrate and make sounds when I hit the keys and my games used to have sound but it seems to have stopped working. I checked settings and all are turned on.

If your MacBook is one that has an easily removeable battery, try the following -
Shut down the MacBook.
Remove the battery and inspect it for any signs of expansion. If any are found, replace it.
Connect the MacBook to the power adapter, but do not put the battery back in.
Start up the MacBook.
Test for trackpad and keyboard functionality. If the functionality returns to normal without the battery in it, replace the battery.
Apple sells replacement batteries for about $129. Be sure you get the right one for your model. Other users have reported being able to purchase batteries through eBay for about $20-30.
Best of luck.

• When any sound is played online it is terribly gitchy and sounds awful no matter the site, but saved music and games sound perfect.

I just purchased a brand new desktop, athlon 2x dual core 260 with 4 gigs of ram. The computer just arrived yesterday in the mail and ever since first boot up no sounds play properly online (using IE and FireFox). The site doesnt matter, neither does the format. All drivers (realtek) and up to date and I just downloaded the most recent flash build. The problem persists if there is video or not. The real odd thing is that all saved music/video files sound perfect, so do games. Now if I stream music to WMP it sounds just fine, no problems, only when I try to play sounds from a site directly like youtube and the such. I have scoured all possible solutions online and have found no answers. Maybe someone could possibly solve this awful problem for me.

and i run win 7 premium home - i just noticed that there is a volume control for a firefox plugin container in the sound mixer option - could there be an error with this?

• How come when I change my sound on my IPod Touch, it says I am connected to headphones, and no sound comes out

I click the button to change the sound, and it says I'm connected to headphones, when I'm not, and when I play something, there's no sound, and my Bluetooth is also turned off. I don't know how to get sound!

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

• Teamspeak in my headset, and game sounds in speakers?

Hey guys I have a creative sound blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio sound card, I i'm trying to get my comms from teamspeak in my headset, while still having my normal sounds from my games on the speaker set. I'm using a cheap 3.5mm headset with a mike from walmart....do I need a usb headset for this, or can I do it with the one I have? Also, I don't have the tab on my audio console to change the mode....any ideas on that? As far as I know, I'm using the latest version. Anyone have any ideas on how to get this done? Thanks.

Choose your desired audio output device from the speaker icon near the right-hand end of the menu bar.

• HT5622 iPad 3 and my sound has stopped from speakers, but can get from headphones. It's not the side switch and the volume is max in all areas. Anyone got any ideas, what problem is and how to fix it thanks

Hi,
My iPad has just stopped working with sound from the speakers, it works fine with the headphones in. The soft mute button is not made and the volume is at max.
Any ideas what problem is and how to sort. Thanks

System sounds can be muted from the software switch in the task bar as well as from the side switch depending on how you have it set up. This my boilerplate resonse for sound issues.
1. If you have no sound at all, even in the Music App, try rebooting the iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
2. If you lost sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.

3. If you still have no sound at all - except when using headphones ....try cleaning the dock connector opening of the iPad with a soft brush and just a little bit of rubbing alcohol.

• Possibility to route Sound? (connect headphone and speakers at the same ti

Hi is it possible to route the sound of my X-FI Titanium (PCIe)?
I want to connect Headphone and 2. Speakers at the same time and want to be able to decide where the sound comes out.
It wasnt possible with my previous audigy 2zs, but it thought now it could be possible, because every cheap onboard sound can do that.
The only solution so far was to choose stereo surround but that wont work in games because most games recognise 4 speakers and some sound is missing.
Any hints?
Thanks in Advance

I used to be able to do that in XP with an SB Li've 024 which?was like 2+2 stereo card before 5. came out.
Thinking....maybe somethig like [url="http://www.pccables.com/images/05004.jpg">this[/url]?(3.5mm STEREO JACK Y-SPLITTER ADAPTER) plugged into front out for headphones and front speakers.
You can also get a cable that does similar.

• Using headphones and X-Fi: Which setting to choose in games, Surround or Headphon

I have X-Fi Platinum. In the Audio Console/Console Launcher, I can choose between Headphones, 5. Speakers and some other setups, though these two are the only ones apliccable to me. When I connect my headphones, the settings are automatically adjusted to Headphones.
What I'm wondering about is what to choose in the games I play. Should I choose headphone settings there (or "Stereo", if that's the only stereo choice)? As far as I've gathered, the X-Fi can (to some extent) give 3D-sound in headphones by using CMSS-3D (if I've understood correctly), and I expect that for this to work, a 5.-source must be present (which it isn't if the settings in the game are set to Stereo or Headphones or whatever).
So, what do I choose in the games? Surround/5. or Stereo/Headphones?
I've also read at the X-Fi site that games with OpenAL (at least Prey) send the sounds to the sound card along with all the positional information, in which case the sound card does everything depending on the speaker setup in the drivers:
Because audio is not fixed into a speaker configuration until the final playback stage, Prey audio played through the OpenAL API can be virtualized to surround sound in a far more meaningful way. The audio reaching the card from the game is deli'vered with all its positional information intact thereby allowing the headphone or stereo speaker virtualization algorithms to produce highly convincing surround sound over stereo playback equipment.
This would also explain why Prey doesn't have a choice between stereo or surround when using OpenAL. How is this done in other OpenAL games? Are there never any speaker setup settings in OpenAL games?

I think you'll find that PC games pretty much use either DirectSound3D or OpenAL in cases like these and they leave handling the speaker configuration to them. When I've looked into a small number of examples where the game had speaker-configuration settings, all it seemed to do was set the Windows speaker configuration, and had nothing to do with audio handling by the game itself.
In such cases, what you really want to be able to do is to set your speaker settings up before you launch the game, and just have the game use them as is. You don't want the game changing that, and having such settings within the game just seems an opportunity for the game's programming to aggressi'vely step on your settings. You don't want to start a game with Headphones set, then suspend the game to look as your speaker settings, and find you're set to 2 speakers!
The SBX-Fi pays attention to the speaker-configuration settings in CL's controls. I think there's an option to synchronize with the Windows speaker-configuration controls (there has been for prior cards at least), and this situation seems a good reason to not enable the synchronization.
DirectSound on Vista has issues for CL cards because Microsoft removed the hooks which allowed CL to provide hardware acceleration. OpenAL doesn't have this problem, and CL's ALchemy provides a bridge to translate a game's DirectSound calls to OpenAL equivalents.
You should choose Headphones, and hope you don't have to fiddle with the game's settings.

• My Ipad 2 external speakers does not work and headphones has popping sound. This all occured at the same time as my Iphone and Ipod headphones only played mono (no, the "mono" option is not on). How can there be audio issue for all these devices?

My IPad 2 external speaker does not work and the original headphones have popping sound when used. This all occurred at the same time as my IPhone and IPod headphones only plays mono (and no, the "mono" option is not on) with the original headphones, as well as, other headphones tested. How can there be audio issue for all these devices at the same time?
As you may have noted from the list of Apple devices I own, I believed in the Apple and the products it was producing; but it is hard to believe from my experience and the other voices within the Apple Community that we are all experiencing the same hardware issues. Especially since I recently, I upgraded to an IPhone 4g (no, my faith in IPhone 5 series is very little) and is experiencing the same audio problem as described above. So now, I am off to the Apple store again to be told that it’s a hardware problem on new IPhone. Really? Apple, what happen to the pride in the product you were producing?

Everyone does things a little differently. I love to "jam " along with iTunes ( or old Lp's) . Always have. That's where/how I've learned to play .
I'm sure leonieDF is giving a proper way to jam along on a keyboard with an iTune. He blows my mind all the time with what he knows. Nuff respects to him !
What I do is make a GB project I call "Jam With". I'll make several new tracks that are blank. Just has a few instruments named in the blank tracks. You can change those per song ...
Because I'm not concerned about changing the pitch / key.... of the iTune or the tempo ... I can simply play along with it.
Peace,
P. Dreadie
