BMPC4k DNG's (New Firmware BM4k 1.8) do not import. Error displayed is "Unsupported format or Damaged file" - The BMPCC imports fine with DNG's. Hope this will be updated as BM4K RAW update will be launched any day.

Have you found a solution? None of my DNG files from the BMPC 4k camera will import into Premiere Pro CC 2014! Please help.

  • Arbitrary data param not importing from Premiere Pro project into After Effects.

    Hi,
I have an AE SDK plugin effect that works in Premiere Pro and After Effects... the effect has a bunch of standard parameters and one Arbitrary Data parameter.
I believe that the Arbitrary data parameter is implemented correctly, and I have implemented all of the cases for PF_Cmd_ARBITRARY_CALLBACK...
    PF_Arbitrary_NEW_FUNC
    PF_Arbitrary_DISPOSE_FUNC
    PF_Arbitrary_COPY_FUNC
    PF_Arbitrary_FLAT_SIZE_FUNC
    PF_Arbitrary_FLAT_SIZE_FUNC
    PF_Arbitrary_FLATTEN_FUNC
    PF_Arbitrary_UNFLATTEN_FUNC
    PF_Arbitrary_INTERP_FUNC
    PF_Arbitrary_COMPARE_FUNC
    PF_Arbitrary_PRINT_SIZE_FUNC
    PF_Arbitrary_PRINT_FUNC
    PF_Arbitrary_SCAN_FUNC
The only issue I have found, is that when importing a Premiere Pro project into After Effects with the "Import -> Adobe Premiere Pro Project" option, the value in the Arbitrary Data
parameter is always the default. There is no problem saving or re-opening projects within AE or PP... and there are no problems with cutting and pasting instances of the effect.
Importing a Premiere Pro project into After Effects using the Dynamic Link works correctly... the Arbitrary data is imported.
    Thanks.

Some kind of answer would be awesome... there are Adobe staff members on here right?

  • WMV audio not importing into Premiere Pro CS5.5/CS6

I have two Win7 machines running CS5.5 and CS6 respectively.  Prem Pro imports and edits the video sequence of a batch of wmv files recently referred to me for processing but does not show the audio at all.  The files play perfectly in Windows media player.  I presume there is a codec somewhere on my machines that wmplayer is using but how can I get Prem Pro to use it???  I don't usually use WMV but I have found some other wmv files which import nomally i.e. sound track included.  Loading the files into Handbrake lists the audio for the successfully imported files as Source: English (wmav2) (2.0 ch)  Codec: AAC (faac)  Bitrate: 160.  The files that Prem Pro does not import the sound for, list identically except that the source is shown as Unknown rather than English.   All other details (wmav2 etc exactly the same.

  • XDCam Video not importing into Premiere (Only the accompanying Audio).  Assistance Requested

Working on Premiere CS6.  Mac OSX 10.9.5

    Thanks Kevin,
I'm not sure if you can see my question, but I'm working in CS6 (not CC).  I can import audio off .mxf files but the video won't accompany it.  I've attempted conversions in various software & the result is the same.  I get audio only, and no video--but I can see still images of the video periodically.)
So, if you have an solution for that specific problem, I'd love to hear from you.
    Thanks,

  • AI files not importing into Premiere in appropriate aspect ratio

I'm having trouble importing Illustrator CS5 files that are "made" with a video preset into Premiere.  I'm building "lower thirds" out of a client graphic.  I then save them as AI CS5 files.  When I import them into Premiere, they aren't imported as an entire frame of material, but rather just the text itself.  I then have to resize the material and change the X and Y locations, respectively.
Is there a way to create, save, and import Illustrator files properly so all I have to do is drop them into the timeline?

If you're making a lower third and you've set your artboard width in Illustrator, you'd think that it should import at that dimension, but it doesn't always work that way. the bounding box of an imported AI file, because the background is null, will fit the actual graphic instead of the artboard size. So if you set the width of the artboard to 1280 pixels and the graphic is only 1200 pixles wide, then it will import at 1200 pixels wide and it won't fill the full width of the video screen. It's not a big deal to adjust the width in Premiere, but if you want it to fit just right, or a tick over, be sure your graphic is at least as wide as the formatted screen, it not a few pixels over so it bleeds off the screen.

  • Flip AVI files does not import on Premiere 9

Got the Adobe Premiere Elements 9 for Christmas.  I tried importing avi files from my flip (640 x 480) but all I get are blank screens of the video even on preview.  I've been fiddling on this for a couple hours and I'm really disappointed so far at the lack of intuitiveness of this product.  Anyone know why I'm getting blank clips? Help would be appreciated.  Otherwise I'll just take it back and hope I get a full refund.  I'll just stick with the Windows Movie Maker, it seems alot simplier and it's FREE!

    Welcome to the forum.
This FAQ Entry on Flip camera footage might be useful.
Also, the file format is virtually meaningless, as it is but a "wrapper." This ARTICLE will give you background on those "wrappers."
I also highly recommend Steve Grisetti's Basic Training articles on Muvipix.
This FAQ Entry might be useful too, though it was written for PrE 8.

  • Audio not confomed after old project imported into Premiere Pro 2014.1

Reinstalled windows and Creative Cloud today, now when I open a project that had conformed audio 3 days ago, the audio is not conformed. Adobe had to conform it before sending it to Audition.
    Anyone else have this issue?
    David

Have you tried using the project manager to re-copy all elements and timeline etc into a totally new directory. I'm just curious to see if that would make a difference. I'd be intrested to see if when making a new project in this manor if it would because as you have stated the normal save methods haven't.

  • Importing from Premiere CC 2014 to Premiere CC

I've just installed Premiere Pro CC 2014 and continued editing an on-going project (which I was editing in Premiere CC).
At first everything was OK and I took some important steps into the editing, but after a few days the new software is extremely slow and I am unable to use it. It simply doesn't respond my commands and eventually crashes.
    I am using a Mac OS X Version 10.9.2.
I've tried exporting a XML file but CC2014 will load forever and won't finish it. I then tried exporting some EDL files and importing them into CC, it worked better but I still lost a lot of adjustments and details.
Is there any solution to this issue? Can I manage to import exactly the same clips in the same order and with the exact cuts?
    Thanks,
    Jorge

As Mylenium suggests, there are many ways to move information between Premiere Pro and After Effects. They are all outlined on this page: "Working with After Effects and Premiere Pro"
You didn't specify, but I'll assume as he did that you are exporting a Premiere Pro project from After Effects. That works by converting things from native After Effects to their equivalents in Premiere Pro; sometimes there isn't a good equivalent, so the conversion isn't perfect. The same conversion is done as is done for copying and pasting between After Effects and Premiere Pro. There's a set of tables that describe the conversions here.
The way to get perfect fidelity is to either use Dynamic Link (as Mylenium suggested) or render and export a movie from After Effects and import that into Premiere Pro.

  • Subtitle import from Premiere CC 2014

Hi, I need to create a dvd/bluray from a Premiere CC project, I have a lot of timelines and now I need to create te subtitles. Premiere CC makes this way easier, so I would like to now if there is any way to export my Premiere subtitles to Encore CS6 or if I have to create them straight in Encore.
    Thanks.

    Hi Pablo,
Can you include a screenshot of the error messages you're receiving, as well as the full Premiere Sequence window?

  • How import AVI h.264 no Premiere CC 2014

    Can anyone help me??
Did a render of an animation I produced in Blender AVI h.267 need to do some editing and I can not import into Premiere CC 2014. Not want to lose the quality of the animation I did

    Chico Crevin
Do you have any version of Premiere Elements at the present time? What computer operating system is being used for your video projects?
Premiere Elements does not support AVCHD (MPEG4 AVC/H.264).avi. It can support files with AVCHD compression, and it can support files with the file extension (wrapper format) .avi. But, it does not support the combo of AVCHD.avi (AVCHD video compression wrapped/contained by the .avi format.
Do you really mean H.264.avi and not H.267.avi? You could download and install the free 30 days tryout of Premiere Elements 12 and determine if it will work for you with your particular file. If you wanted to send a sample H.264.avi via a Dropbox link in a post, I would be glad to test it on my Premiere Elements software.
But, I am almost sure that the answer is going to be the same as you found for Premiere CC 2014 - no import for your H.264.avi.

  • .mxf files not importing and crashing premiere

    Hello folks
I am editing an event project for a college class. We used three HVX and recorded onto P2 cards. We used about 8 p2 cards total.
Several of the files and entire folder of the video .mxf files will not import into premiere. I get a box stating it is importing them, but the program will state that it is not responding several moments later and I have to force close the entire project.
I have played these .mxf files on VLC player and they play, so I am unsure of how to get adobe premiere cs6 to accept these files without crashing if I can at all.
    Thank you,
    James

I am editing on a school PC (a dell) and it is using windows 7.
It is Adobe Premiere Cs6 I am not aware of any updates that have been updating (ex. patches) or what the internal parts are on the computer.
The video files are in MXF format.
I do not believe the proram is running any thrid party effects or codecs.
A handful of the MXF files will not import into premiere, but instead crash the system.

  • Failure to import fcp7 project's xml into Premiere Pro 2014.  Details below.  Why is it crashing? Any thoughts?

Here are the details of my problem:
Premiere Pro 2014 (up to date)
Mac book Pro OSX Yosemite 10.10.1 with 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 processor
Source footage includes a variation of codecs as follows: H.264 in a .mov container, 1920 x 1080 Apple Pro Res 422, Linear PCM
There are no error messages, the import into Premiere Pro 2014 begins normally but the "progress bar" never starts and then after about 10 seconds a blank white box appears followed by the pinwheel.
When the problem occurred I was trying to import a fcp7 project's xml file into Premiere Pro.
I emailed Adobe Support Tech the fcp7 xml file and it crashed his computer, however, I was able to successfully import one clip from fcp7  (an Apple ProRes 422, Linear PCM, duration 1 minute) from the fcp 7 project into Premiere Pro, but not the whole project or the bare essentials (the cut itself).
I am not running other software
Do you have any third-party effects or codecs installed?  Not that I know of...
Tell us about your computer hardware. Be especially certain to tell us about third-party I/O hardware (e.g., AJA, Matrox, Blackmagic, MOTU). ??????
I am using Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration
The problem only happen when I try to import the FCP7 xml project file into Premiere Pro

    Hi Lynn,
Have you inspected the XML file for any anomalies? That might be a way to see if any third party effects were used.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • Why do the MP4 files that I import to Premiere Pro CC have unsynced audio? (Resolved)

I have identified and resolved.the issue. There is a bug with how Premeire Pro handles importing videos with variable frame rate.
Community Memeber Walter.Johnson found a work-around at the bottum of this post, which also has the identification and submission of the bug itself:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1110005?start=40&tstart=0
I had to convert the video with "constant framerate" selected in handbrake. I'm believe the ffmpeg CLI equivilant switch is "-cfr" but I have not tested to be sure.
I can now import videos with synced audio!
I have recorded several hours of footage using a program called XSplit (a screen recording tool).
The files are recorded in a FLV format and I then convert them to MP4 as premiere pro cant read then in FLV.
In a MP4 format I can import the files into Premiere Pro CC and the video looks perfect, but the audio is unsynced. It is also unsynced in non-linear way so it is not something that I can simply unlink and adjust to compensate as it would have to be done manually every minute.
If I import these same MP4s into other video editing programs they import perfectly fine and have no audio sync issues what-so-ever. I only experience this issue in Premeire Pro CC. I can even tested these videos in 6 different media players and they play perfecly fine.
If I convert the files to AVI using ffmpeg or ffmpeg assisted tools it will not import into Premiere Pro CC and gives a "unsupported format or damaged file" error. Once again, this avi can be played and edited in several other programs no problem.
Here are the details about one of these files:
    VIdeo Codec: H.264/MPEG-4 AVC
    Video: 1280x720
Audio Codec: mp4a: MPEG-4 ACC LC
    Audio: 44100hz 63 kb/s tot , stereo (2/0)
Anyone have any ideas on why the audio is becomming de-synced in Premiere Pro CC only?

I'm happy to announce to you all that my "mp4 importing" issues has been sorted out. Now I import mp4 shot with the same Windows Phone 8 Device into Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. Only that for the moment, it doesn't play as fast as with ordinary player.
    But how did I get it to work, you may wonder;
I simply installed Itunes on the system, I also installed an app called media monkey. I can't say which of the apps did the magic but the next time I tried to import mp4 files into Premiere Pro after these installations, it imported seamlessly.
Obviously there's a link between the required codecs and the itunes itself.
You may want to try it and hope it works for you.
Kindly inform us if it works.
    Thank you all.
    Cheers.

Just a reminder to those reading your thread...at the onset I wrote
There are certain .avi files with certain video compression that can be highly problematic, such as,
    AVCHD.avi
And, we have been pursuing that line of troubleshooting by use of the conversion of the AVCHD.avi to an .mp4 file. Right now, the issue is not which method, but getting the export settings of the conversion method correct. It would appear that your conversion settings with Koyote got away from you, especially with the frame size and frame rate.
We need to get an import whose properties match the Premiere Elements project settings, set by you or the project. Right now I am suggesting that you set the project setting manually yourself before you import your converted file, as per the how to toward the bottom of the following.
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE11: Accuracy of Automatic Project Preset (New Project Dialog) Setting
But, first the conversion...by whatever method you select, I am suggesting the following H.264.mp4 as a 4:3 file.
Go back to the AVCHD (H.264).avi and convert it to H.264.mp4.
    Let us target for
    Frame Width 640 pixels
    Frame Height 480 pixels
Frame Rate 29.97 frames per second
Pixel Aspect Ratio 1.0.  (also known as Square Pixels)
Then open Premiere Elements to the Expert workspace File Menu/New/Project and Change Settings.
    Change the project preset to
    NTSC
    FLIP
    Flip Mino and Ultra 29_97p
Do not forget the check mark next to "Fit Content to Available Space" as you exit the new project dialog.
Then import your converted H.264.mp4 file into Premiere Elements with Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets from where you drag the file to the Timeline. There should be no black borders anywhere.
Does Koyote conversion offer the settings that I mentioned. If not, we can discuss using HandBrake which I thought might be easier and quicker to use.
Please review and then let us decide if we are on course.
    Thanks.
