BO 3.1. on AIX cannot be restarted

Help,
after server AIX application server has been shut down for maintenance, I'm not able to restart BusObj servers. UNIX command ccm.sh (no errors when I launch it) has no effect, but then trying to login to WebIntelligence the message is :
Server xxxx:6400 not found or server may be down (FWM 01003)
Too risky using the bobjerestart.sh command?

at the end, I was able to restart BusObjects: I think the problem was related to the language settings.
Before the standard AIX command for restarting SIA (ccm.sh -start <SIA_name> -cms <host_name> -username xxxx -password yyyyy), I have run:
LANG=EN_US.UTF-8
export LANG
LC_ALL=EN_US.UTF-8
export LC_ALL
export ORACLE_HOME=/oracle/Ora10g
unset LIBPATH
export LIBPATH=$ORACLE_HOME/lib32
and then the ccm.sh command worked fine

Ever since installing MacKeeper on my IMac I can no longer watch my subscribed to videos on YouTube! They start very slowly and then stop mid-sentence and cannot be restarted! I am wondering if it is time to change to Maverick or try to get rid of MacKeeper. I purchased it because my email had been hacked and now I am wondering if it was a very unwise decision since experiencing these problems?
Is there anything that can be done to unstick the YOU TUBE videos?

Mackeeper is the worst pile of crap you can install. A search of these forums will tell you the same thing over and over.

'Windows Media Center Receiver Service' stops and cannot be restarted

Hi,
I have had some issues with running my Hauppage TV Tuners (WinTV-HVR-2200) on a new Windows 7 Home Premium Installation.
After installing the TV Tuner card, drivers and WMC support software - I am able to configure my TV channels through Windows Media Centre and all is working fine. I can watch and record TV, so it all seems to be OK. It is only AFTER I restart my computer
that I get an error 'Viewing/Listening Device is currently not available' when trying to watch TV in WMC again.
I troubleshooted this issue and found that 'Windows Media Centre Receiver Service' was not running and when I tried to restart the service (via services.msc) it comes up with the following error:
"0x80070003: File path not found"
I have checked the Windows directory for ehrecvr.exe (the file that the service is linked to) and it is not corrupted or moved but I cannot re-link or restart the service.
I tried the following tasks to remedy the issue and none of them were successful:
Run SFC from cmd prompt - no issues were found
Changed the 'logon' details for the service from Network to Local
Changed the start type of the service from manual to automatic
Restored previous versions of windows - prior to windows updates
Re-install TV Tuner drivers and software
Updated to the latest drivers and software version of 'WinTV' (Hauppage TV Tuner Software)
Complete new installation of windows, including a format of the HDD - without installing additional third party software or anit-virus software
Re-seat the TV tuner in a new PCI slot
The only way that I am able to remedy the issue is if I disable and then re-enable WMC via 'optionalfeatures'. This then allows the service to start again, I can then configure my TV tuner in WMC but it still has issues after restarting the PC!
It would appear that by configuring the TV tuners in WMC, it causes a conflict in the service so that it cannot be restarted after it is stopped. Note: I can start/stop the service with the TV tuner cards installed on my PC - it is only when I configure
the TV channels in WMC that it then has issues.
I have had these TV tuners running without any issues for over 2 years; however I have upgraded the motherboard and CPU and this issue has only just started happening. I am at a loss of what to look at next...

I shall suggest you :
1. uninstall WinTV software and reinstall WMC from the scratch.
2. Disable AV or any other internet security application during configuring WMC.
3. Update the TV Tuner card driver from Hauppage's website (only WMC driver and no other application)
Run Setup Again.
Open WMC > Tasks > Settings > General > Windows Media Center Setup > Run Setup Again
Does it help?
If the above doesn't help then try resetting WMC:-
Open Control Panel > Uninstall a Program > Turn Windows Features on or off > Scroll down to Media Features > Uncheck the box against Windows Media Center > Follow on screen instructions > Reboot > Again open Turn Windows Features on
or off under Control Panel > Scroll down to Media Features > Check the box against Windows Media Center.
Now reconfigure WMC again

I face this problem really often.
In WebLogic console I have done some changes with security realms.
Adter I click "Save" it says I nned to restart server for changes to take effect.
I click go Change Center -> View changes and restarts -> Restart Checklist and see AdminServer here.
I check it (the checkbox) and click Restart. In reply I have the following message:
The admin server AdminServer cannot be restarted.All of the servers selected are currently in a state which is incompatible with this operation or are not associated with a running Node Manager or you are not authorized to perform the action requested. No action will be performed.>
What should I do with it?

Same issue was found on WLS1036.
Scenario with AdminServer and ms1, no cluster.
- created a DS and targeted to ms1.
- ms1 is up & running and tests with DS are OK
Test 1. Changing URL to DS
- once the URL was modified, WLS thrown these messages:
MS1: "All changes have been activated. However 1 items must be restarted for the changes to take effect."
MS2: "Settings updated successfully."
- in the Restart Checklist, the JDBC resource is ready to be restarted. The DS is targeted to ms1
- select the DS and click over Restart button and we got the message : "All of the servers selected are currently in a state which is incompatible with this operation or are not associated with a running Node Manager or you are not authorized to perform the action requested. No action will be performed."
- DS was restarted manually but the item in the Restart Checklist remains until the MS is restarted.
This issue was due to a bug on product. Please request to support patch 14504923.

The solution was to add the 3rd line in. This changes the
cursor to
client side. Don't totally understand it but it worked.

The database (MaxDB 7.5) won't start up anymore.

2. The solution
Ok, we see here that all datavolumes could be read but that the logvolume is somehow broken.
What is necessary to do now is: recreate the logvolume.
But what about the data in the logvolume? The logdata would only be needed if the last shutdown of the database was NOT sucessfull. So we better check this in the krnldiag.err file:

From here we see that the last shutdown before the error occured was indeed successful and that the error occured right the next time the database was started. So the logvolume cannot contain any data changes that are not yet in the data area.
Therefore it is safe to recreate the log area.
How can that be done? Up to MaxDB 7.7 there are only two ways to create the logarea and the logarea files:
1. create a database
or
2. recovery with initialization.
From MaxDB 7.7 onwards a *clear log' will do the same - but here we are on MaxDB 7.5.
For this problem only option 2 is feasible: RECOVERY WITH INITIALIZATION.
Although this is a standard DBA task, the customer told me that there is no experience available on his site he needs a step-by-step description how to perform this recovery.
Even more: the DBMGUI tool is not installed on this machine, so he needs a explanation for the dbmcli.
Here we go:
1. bring the database in ADMIN mode:
dbmcli -d <DBSID> -u control,<pw>
dbmcli on ... > db_admin
2. connect to the Utility Session
dbmcli on ...> util_connect
3. perform a complete data backup
dbmcli on ... > backup_start <medium_name> DATA
(this is needed because we want to recover the current data area)
4. perform a recovery with initialization:
!!! ATTENTION THIS IS THE POINT OF NO RETURN! MAKE DOUBLE SURE THAT THE BACKUP TAKEN IN STEP 3 IS OK !!!
dbmcli on ... > db_activate RECOVER <medium_name> DATA
After this db_activate has been sucessfully finished the database will be online but in HISTLOST-state.
Now a new backup is required to be able to perform new log backups again.
That's it sofar.
Anyhow it's HIGHLY recommended to use the DBMGUI tool which can be downloaded in SAP Service Marketplace or here in the SDN download area.
The whole process of backup/recovery is of course fully described in the [MaxDB documentation|http://maxdb.sap.com/documentation/].
P.S.
The <medium_name> is the name of the backup template to be used for backup or recovery.
To display all available mediums use the
medium_getall
command.
If a new medium should be created (for the backup of step 3 this is recommended to avoid the overwriting of any existing backups) the following command can be used
medium_put FULLDATABACK /tmp/fulldatabak file data
The medium_name here is FULLDATABACK. The backup will be written to a file - the file will be /tmp/fulldatabak (the complete filename has to be put in here).
The medium can only be used to perform complete data backups.

IPod Touch frozen on Connect to iTunes Screen and cannot be restarted

My iPod Touch is frozen on the connecting to iTunes screen (The one with a usb plug pointing to iTunes logo) even when I plug it into my computer. Windows do give sound when I plugin, but it was not the successful connected sound but repeating the first note for three times =_=" iPod then appears the connect to iTunes logo, but it just stuck there. I hold the sleep/wake button for 5 seconds, it goes black directly, and windows would give unplug sound alert. But the iPod actually gives the white apple logo immediately without me pressing any button and goes back to the connect to iTunes logo. AGAIN. And computer gives ridiculous plugin alert then everything just go round and round and round.
Now iTunes won't detect it, therefore no restoration; Restart won't work either. If I press the sleep/wake button for 2 seconds without connecting it to the computer, it appears the apple logo, then go back to the connecting to iTunes screen immediately, and goes dark in 30 seconds.
Everything started after I updated new iOS for iPod touch, and I dunno how long would it take to run out the battery under this condition -_- I have updated to the newest iTunes version too.
Needs help urgently and thanks a lot!!

MacBook Late 2008 (Unibody Aluminum) running Lion cannot shutdown, restart, or logout

After upgrading to mac os x lion, my macbook has not been able to restart or shutdown or even logout properly. This problem was not present when the laptop was in snow leopard. Currently, I am able to do a shutdown through the terminal by using the command:
sudo shutdown -h now
or restart by using the command:
sudo shutdown -r -h now
This is fine for most situations but when I am trying to install an update or a program that needs a restart, I am unable to do so. When still at the login screen, I am able to shutdown properly leading me to think that a process is preventing shutdown but I can't find anything in the console. The power button also becomes unresponsive (normally pressing it brings up the window asking whether to shutdown, restart, etc.) and can only be used to do a forced shutdown (i.e. holding it down for 10 seconds). The sleep, restart, and shutdown functions in the apple menu also do not work.
Any ideas anyone?

Exe minimizes on completion and cannot be restarted

Having an odd issue with my executable. Whenthe "Quit LabView" is not used the window will minimize itself in an odd way.
At this point it will refuse to resize and the run button wont come back, so the user is forced to exit the software complety and restart it.
Is anyone aware of the vi properties or project otions that control the behavior of the program after it has stopped running.

okay, this is strange. When you execute Quit LabView vi your application should unload regardless if it is executable or development option. If the window still hangs there it might be trying to close some open external references suggesting that you need to do some proper cleanup before you plan to exit your app.
Was your intention to use a dialog box as a user input whether to quit or continue to run? In that case you would need to put entire code inside while loop, connect boolean output from dialog box to loop control and to LV Quit vi input. And don't forget to add some 100ms wait timer to the loop. Do your main task in a sequence frame just before Quit decision. Hope that helps

RV320: Router cannot be restarted remotely

I have remote management enabled, but the restart function does not do anything when accessed via WAN. It shows a message that it is rebooting, but it does nothing. It only actually reboots when performed from LAN. Is this a known issue?

This happened to me. I had "Enable default host" enabled in the Internet/NAT tab and it was causing BTM not to work on the time capsule. Do you have it enabled for one IP address? Try turning it off and BTM should work for the time capsule.
What enable default host does it sets the one machine with the designated IP address to sit outside the firewall and it fowards all ports to that IP. With it turned on, BTM doesn't work on the time capsule. I think it confuses where to forward the ports.

The screen shows the usb cable pointing to the iTunes ico. I've tried resetting the device by using the home and lock buttons, but the same screen shows up. Just redownloaded iTunes, but I can't get it to see the device.

Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.3.0 OC4J Restarting

Oracle ADF application is deployed to the AS from JDeveolper 10.1.3.3.0 and runs fine initially but after continual use the OC4J returns a runtime exception and restarts.
1. This instance is not associated with an infrastructure but it is on a server with 10.1.2.2.0 Infra and middle tier instances.
2.The error occurs while using a web app. It all works fine at first, can nav pages, view records from the db just fine. Then after say 15mins the page returns Internal Server Error message at which time I check the Oracle app server ctrl to find the error below. That error is displayed in the actual app server ctrl page.
After a few minutes I can refresh the web app page and it returns to the home page working fine again until the next exception and restart. Sometimes as a result of this issue the server will not OC4J will not restart and the page will stop working altogether. At this point I cannot ever restart the OC4J. I have to Restart the entire server machine.

First I would recommend turning up your logging level to FINEST to glean more informatin regarding the error that is occurring. Please post these data along with any related Messaging service configuration information. It is possible that two services are attempting to make the same connection and it is causing one or the other to fail. You might also review the information in your opmn config file. Does the 10.1.2.2 instance remain running during the OC4j restart?

You can restrict this allocation to a range of ports for an application that has peer-to-peer replication enabled. Specifying ports for state replication might be necessary in an installation with a firewall or network that uses a well-defined port range.
To specify a range of ports for peer-to-peer state replication
Add a <port> element to an OC4J instance configuration in the opmn.xml file.
Specify the name of an application that has peer-to-peer replication enabled as the value of the id attribute of the <port> element.
Specify a range of ports in the range attribute of the <port> element.
For example, for deployment of an application named rac-web that is set up for peer-to-peer replication, the line labeled <port id=rac-web .../> in the following OC4J instance configuration tells OPMN to use ports 15213 to 15214 for state replication:

How to restart FCS after Mavericks update

FCS finally works fine on ML.
But after upgrade to Mavericks FCS cannot be restarted.
Any ideas ?
