I have downloaded, unzipped this report as per R12 Oracle E-Business Suite Pre-install Patches Report [Video] (Doc ID 1448102.1)
What then? The instructions say
Unzip the file, extracting the entire contents, which creates the "EBS_12.1_Preinstall" folder. (The unzipped folder will use <1 MB of storage space.)
Navigate to the EBS_12.1_Preinstall folder
Open the file 'index.html' in a browser
Do not rename any of the the files in the EBS_12.1_Preinstall folder. Such an action will break the report.
But the "Index" is supposed to show what? At the moment all I see is a number of sections that have nothing in them (the other html pages, like AP etec, do provide information)

Questions on Oracle E-Business Suite JAAS impl with ADF (Patch 8571001)

I am working at a customer site, where we are developing extensions to EBS R12 using ADF 11g. I have some questions around Oracle E-Business Suite JAAS implementation (Patch 8571001). The answers to these would help us choose the right path for the overall project.
1. How much integration is possible between ADF JAAS roles and the EBS User management roles? If we implement Oracle E-Business Suite JAAS implementation using this patch, how would the component/field level security work in ADF? Will ADF pages refer to roles in EBS UMX tables for field level security?
2. Is there any detailed documentation as to how to Oracle E-Business Suite JAAS implementation works. I have read the metalink note # 974949.1; however it does not provide enough details on UMX/EBS integration. Any pointers would be really helpful.

After doing any fresh installation, what are all the patches to be applied for a better performance and with all the latest available and certified features?..

For ex. After fresh installation of 11.5.10.2 , comes with RUP 2, I need to update it to RUP4, like that what are all the other patches we can install ?

R12 Jan CPU Note states that:

About adrelink log file it contains same errors for some of the products
In a two node installation i put database on 1st node & all apps services including CM on 2nd node
in this scenario i have to apply patch only on application tier

shall i put database & Cm on one node & apps services all 2nd nodeI believe it does not matter if you have enough resources on both servers.

which will better performance plz adviseWith the current setup you have (database on one node and application services on other node) you do not need to change it as you will need to apply the application patches just once (on the 2nd node). If you move the CM to the other node, then application patches will be required to run on both nodes.

I am not aware of any but I have not needed such a tool. The test cases we generally run are to validate applet behaviour on a given card platform so are very specific. We looking at new platforms we just want to know existing code works as expected.

I recently installed portal 10 (i.e.) oracle application server 10g Release (10.1.2)
i am new to apps dba

for this i have to following patch i don't how to apply pl's tell me

variable pointing IAS_ORACLE_HOME1) Unzip the contents of the file into a temporary folder (e.g., 3418272_fix folder)

CPU Patches to EBS

Hello :
I have successfully upgraded the system to latest patchsets. The database is already on 11g. The only thing which is pending now is the CPU Patches.
I know that the Database and the Application tier CPU patch is cumulative where as the EBS suite patch is not cumulative.
For me to apply the EBS suite CPU's I need to know the current CPU patch applied to it. If I know this then I can probably list all the CPU patches that needs to be applied to the system.Is there any way or query that I can use to get this information.
Please advice any good reference material to carry out this patching. I want to merge all the EBS patches together and then apply it in one shot.

Critical Patches

Sorry for the stupid question but i need clarification on this.
Running EBS 11.5.9
Looking at installing the critical patches.
I know i have to check the patches for oracle E-business and also the database patches.
Now it's this point that confuses me, do i have to look at any other area's or are they all picked up with the EBS patches
ie $IAS_ORACLE_HOME

There are some form errors after upgrading ebs from 12.1.1 to 12.1.3

Hello , EBS experts,
I have some upgrading issues need your great help. thanks in advance!
We have installed EBS 12.1.1 on Oracle Linux 5.7, everything is okay.
Now, we need to upgrading EBS from 12.1.1 to 12.1.3, after all the upgrading process were done. We have encountered the form error while opening the AR transaction forms as below
ORA-01403: no data found
FRM-40735: PRE-FORM trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-04062.
Lots of Receivable forms have the same issue, I have upgrading the ebs from 12.1.1 to 12.1.3 with 2 times, but every time, I have encountered the same issue.
Can anyone have me? it's very urgent for me to finish this task, thanks!
Here is my upgrading process for your reference
1. Installed the EBS 12.1.1 and everything is okay(Create a AR, AP transaction and invoice and post to gl).
2. I have referenced this document to upgrading the EBS

To apply Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.3, follow these steps:
1） 9239089
2） 9239090（US）， then applied the 9239090_zhs as I have the zhs language on the EBS 12.1.1

Post-Update Steps
1. Apply post-install Oracle E-Business Suite Applications Technology patches. (Required)

2. Update database tier nodes with the Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.3 code level.

7111245 - 7684818 also includes 7111245 but this is a later version of the patch. Disregard errors related to 7111245 being installed when applying 7684818.

(I have compared the above patches with my db(ebs 12.1.1 ) and some patches have already been applied based on EBS 12.1.1), and the following patches were not included on the db, so I applied the following patches one by one

Open AR forms such as transaction, receipt, etc, and always encountered the same issues as below

Here is my verification result for your reference as below
1.Known errors generated on the People form (PERWSHRG) [ID 206584.1]
10 - Error: FRM-40735:PRE-FORM trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-04062.
ORA-01403:no data found
APP-FND-01242:cannot read value from field: GLOBAL.G_NAV_NODE_USAGE_ID
Cause: The field: Global.G_NAV_NODE_USAGE_ID couldn't be located or read.
Resolution: This is an issue associated with multiple APPL_TOPS. Ensure
that references to the APPL_TOP are pointing to correct one.
I don't know how to fix this? do you know?
2.After Upgrade From R12.0.4 To 12.1.1 Property Manager Forms Give Error FRM-40735 [ID 1092394.1]

did you know how to set this 1) Please set Property Manager status to "Installed" via License Manager.
I don't find this on license manager.
4.Frm-40735 Ora-04062 When Trying To Open Transactions Form [ID 1363671.1]
just checked the custom.pll and custom.plx and they are existed in AU_TOP/resource, I want to re-generated this custom.plx using this
frmcmp module=CUSTOM.pll userid=apps/apps@hostname module_type=LIBRARY
but have some issues.

Media Encoder CS4 No Error No File (Says It's Created, but It Isn't)

I have tried repeatedly today to encode an QuickTime container to P2 format, and while Adobe Media Encoder CS4 appears to load correctly, do the conversion, and confirm the file creation, I can not find the file that was supposed to be created.
There is no error message. Below is the transcript of the log from one attempt:

Only, no where on my computer is there the file “0001DI_1.MXF”. Not only have I looked in the Desktop folder where it is supposed to be. I have searched both hard drives on my computer for that file. This has happened repeatedly with variations of the output file name in the last hour or so.
I have rebooted the machine. I have run error-checking on the hard drive. Even though only log into my with my own account and no one else uses it, I have even created a text file with the same name, just in case the file that was created was there but hidden. I had no problem creating the text file in the directory where the output from Media Encoder is supposed to be.
My suite was fully patched when this was run (except I did install an upgrade to Adobe Reader after this problem occurred when I checked to make sure my software was current).
I used Media Encoder earlier in the day to create a P2 MXF file from the same source file earlier in the day, and have used it to create other output formats.
I am working on a Windows XP Professional machine.
Any ideas?

Quick postscript that may be relevant...
I converted the same file I’m having trouble with to WMV format. It worked fine, but the output file name I wanted to give it was long (more than 8 letters not counting the extension). The name of the file created by Media Encoder was only the first 8 letters plus the extension.
I had no problem manually renaming the file it’s full name (over 20 letters long). It seems Media Encoder couldn’t do that.
That still begs the question why it didn’t work when I tried to create an MXF file only one letter long. Here is the section of log where I tried to do that. As before, it says the file was created. I couldn’t find it.
