BO Edge 3.0 / 3.1 : uninstalling BO platform
Hello,
We have an Windows/Tomcat installation of BO Edge XI 3.0 (BO platform 3.0 and Data Services 3.0).
We only wish to upgrade the BO platform to XI 3.1, not Data Services.
I find in Relases notes that we must uninstall BO Edge XI 3.0 before installing BO Edge XI 3.1. So I think we'll install BO platform XI 3.1 on a new server and we'll import XI 3.0 content.
But we still want to uninstall the BO platformXI 3.0 from the current server.
Is Data Services still run after that ?
Also Tomcat and DataServices webapps ?
And Metadata Integrator for Impact/Lineage Analysis ?
Anyway can we run Metadata Integrator XI 3.0 with a XI 3.1 CMS ?

if you uninstall BOE 3.0 your tomcat deployment gets lost and also your DS Webapps.
Following ideas:
1. Disable all BOE 3.0 Services except Tomcat. The binaries will last on the HDD but the Services wont require and more RAM. If you have enough Disc Space, this wont be a problem.
2. Uninstall BOE 3.0 with Tomcat. Re- run the DS 3.0 Setup and chosse only to install the Tomcat and deploy the webapps.
About Metadata Integrator i have to pass, not quite sure. Isnt that a stand alone installation with also a WebApps and a own Repository?

WebLogic Platform Uninstall Problems With SP3 and SP4
I am experiencing a problem (multiple times) WebLogic Platform's uninstall.
I am installing WebLogic Platform 8.1 SP3 from a CD. My machine's OS is Windows 2000 Professional SP4. I'm 99.9% positive that my environment is a supported configuration. I then upgrade to SP4 (once using SmartUpdate and another using the downloaded EXE from the support site, obviously on different runs).
After installing the original (SP3) from CD, I test the uninstall to see if it works. It does, so I cancelled out of the "splash" screen so nothing runs. I restarted my machine. I then upgrade to SP4. I restart the machine again. (As I mentioned before, I've tried this process twice, once with SmartUpdate and most recently with the SP4 EXE install). Without doing anything else, I test the uninstall again, but now, I'm getting the "splash" screen and a warning dialog with the message "D:\bea\weblogic81\uninstall". All methods of uninstall (Start Menu, Console, Silent, Control Panel > Add/Remove, etc...) fail.
In addition, when attempting to use SmartUpdate to downgrade back to SP3, the same things happens, but, in addition, I get another warning dialog with the message "Fail to launch the installer.".
Please help...
Others have experienced this problem since Jul 23, 2003 5:56 AM (based on the thread link below) and I can't seem to find any additional information on it...

Audigy 2 NX Hangs system when us
Hello. Maybe someone can help with this.
No problem installing drivers, etc. Running latest nx drivers. (As @ 6 june 2006).
Initially works perfectly (passes all diagnostics etc) unitil it tries to make a sound (speaker test) then instant OS hang and required PC hard-power-off to resolve.
If I leave the NX plugged in at boot, system will hang/lock up just after login, when the system tries to play welcome sound.
If it's important I have another USB sound device - a cyberbox VOIP gateway from tiptel. Unplugging it or removing it's drivers does not help. (ditto for other hardware mentioned above).
The A2NX worked ONCE after initial drivers install, and before reboot.
I've tried checking and reinstalling drivers both via uninstall and manual uninstall (device manager).
The A2NX works fine on other systems.

P4 2.6Ghz
USB VOIP adapter (cyberbox from tiptel, appears in Device manager as 'USB Audio')

For the sake of some future googler, let me say that the problem was a dri've reverting to PIO mode instead of Ultra DMA (see the Primary DMA in your device manager). WACS problem when Installing Integration Kit
I am trying to install the SAP Inegration kit 3.1 after installing BO XI Edge 3.1 but it is terminating with an Error saying "WACS already installed by BO Edge". Any idea how to get around the issue?
I have had look at installation guide for Integration Kit 3.0 but that does not mention either un-installing WACS ( BTW how do we do that?) or stopping the service.
All help appreciated.

you need Tomcat in order to use the int.Kit for SAP Solutions in BO Edge. Can you consider uninstalling everything and reinstalling BO Edge by using the advanced (and NOT the express) installation option?

In my Firefox browser, I have two potentially vulnerable plugins: "Java Deployment Toolkit 7.0.400.43" and "Java Platform SE 7 U40." I uninstalled Java Platform (I believe it was 6.0), so I'm not sure why it is showing as a plugin. Anyway, in my attempt to uninstall the Java 7 Update, I get an error message that says "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." I'm prompted to "Click Ok to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package "jre.1.7.0_21-c.msi" in the box below.
It appears that a folder within my c drive is missing. I don't understand it as this is a file that I do not mess with. Apparently, it is the subfolders within the c drive; specifically, the appsdata subfolder was hidden! Even after I unhid it, I'm still missing the local subfolder which is where Java normally would go. Java is instead located on a local low subfolder, but I can't uninstall this because this path (Local low) is not recognized). Any help is much appreciated!!

White screen appeared twice now when Curve 8520 battery is low? (Please Help)
I'm really worried that my Blackberry is going to die ... I've only had it just over a year & I'm still paying for it, so for it to die on me would be truly upsetting!!

Apps and free space : I don;t have many app's really, Facebook, Twitter, I have the bejewelled & Sims 3, a horoscope one, wrestling online & Bebuzz .. I think that's it really, free space not sure but I know that it's ok though.
I've done a battery pull each time the phone has done this ... & it's just re-booted the phone fine, but the fact the white screen issue has happened to me twice now in the past few days is worrying, it's always when the battery is low .... I've noticed the battery seems to charge up quite quickly too ... not sure whether that means anything.
Please kindly help as soon as you possibly can ... I want to fix this early on the best way I can with hopefully not losing anything either ... such a gutter!! :-(

I highly recommend that you do a full backup of the data using the desktop manager.

I currently have my blackberry smartphone completely synced up with my Gmail account. I have two applications linked to my Gmail (the Message application and the Email application) , one has the Gmail plug-in (Email App), and one does not (Messages App). The thing is, the Email application does not show a "notification symbol" whenever I receive a new email.
A buddy of mine has a Curve 8900 as well and he does get the "notification symbol" on both applications when he receives an email and it goes away whenever he checks that email on either application. I would like to use the Email App on my Home Screen menu, and I really would like it to show the notification symbol. How might I go about fixing this issue?

HELP - CALENDAR DATABASE PROBLEM
Unusual problem with my wife’s BB 8300. Calendar entries for 3 year period both single and recurring show up in Calendar on the BB 8300 and can be edited and will cause alarms and reminders BUT Calendar entries will not Back-up into an.ipd file. All other data on BB 8300 will back-up. I can read ipd files with ABC AMBER Blackberry Converter and Calendar part is empty in the .ipd back-up file.
Additionally Calendar entries will not sync with Outlook, but all other data in the BB 8300 will sync fine. I have tried dual and one-way sync as well as deleting the sync configuration entry in the RIM folder and then re-config. Sync. Doesn’t help.
Upon examining BB I found clues to cause. No entries listed in Calendar and Calendar Database Size is listed as 0 entries with 0.0K size.
Seems like BB 8300 operating system as lost record of the Calendars existence even though it’s there and running fine.
I am afraid of BB losing the Calendar data and then since there is no back-up or Outlook all will be lost forever.
Is there a way for the BB 8300 O.S. to rebuild it’s record of the existing Calendar so the Calendar Data can be either backed-up or sync’ed to Outlook ?

Does your wife have an email address/addresses associated with the device? In database sizes I have four to match my four email addresses. You may have looked at the base calendar, instead of the calendar associated with the email address, which should be the default. Go to OPTIONS -ADVANCED OPTIONS DEFAULT SERVICES under calendar CICAL should be your wife's email address.
Then go down to service books, your wife's email address should be listed twice, one for CICAL calendar and the other for CMIME for messaging. If all is in place:
Go to HOST ROUTING TABLES click to enter and menu key - register now. You will get a verification message and new service books.
Pull the battery while the device is ON, replace after a minute,Let the device reboot 1-3 min
The device should be setup to use the correct calendar.
As far as losing the data. Since you have no Outlook to back up to, I would suggest . Google mobile sync. Open a FREE Google account, install mobile sync on your BB and sync the calendar with the Google calendar as well as your contacts.

Unable to launch EPM System Configurator
Hi,
Actually i am not able to delete the EPM File's to reinstall using Uinstall EPM System.I just went to Control panel and deleted directly Some of the file's using some of the blogs but I could not delete like.dll file's.So When I tried to configuring after reinstall it is throwing error while configuring like Windows could not find javaw.Please help on this It's urgent

BB Curve 8320 OS 4.5 hangs periodically, makes the phone unusable
Hi there,
I have a T-Mobile Curve 8320 running OS 4.5 whcih I updated from the web on my laptop, and installed to the BB device via a USB cable. I also am running the latest BB desktop software, 4.7.
I'm having hanging issues where a clock icon appears on the screen and makes the BB impossible to use for several minutes. This happens several times throughout the day and is very frustrating.
I do not use a media card. I am, however, using Google's synch software for my calendar. I wonder if that's causing the hang.

First thing? Check the File Free at Options > Status, what is the number at File Free? Now, remove the battery of your device, hold a minute, replace and reboot. What is the File Free now?

Weblogic HTTP handler problems
Recently I had the following problem with an application which
makes ALOT of outgoing HTTP requests - with Weblogic's HTTP handler
it was resulting in sporadic deadlocks, but using Sun's handler
completely cured the problem. (5.1, sp6 on Solaris, not reproduceable
on Windows 2k).
Is that a bug?
