BO Edge Platform/Features Comparison

I am new to BO>  Our company has just purchased BusinessObjects Edge 3 Standard and I am unsure which platform, Linux or Windows I should install on.
Can someone tell what features Linux version have/doesn't have  and Windows have/doesn't have.  Also, which platform works better, for instance, installation, problems, support, performance, etc.
Thanks.

Hi,
if you uninstall BOE 3.0 your tomcat deployment gets lost and also your DS Webapps.
Following ideas:
1. Disable all BOE 3.0 Services except Tomcat. The binaries will last on the HDD but the Services wont require and more RAM. If you have enough Disc Space, this wont be a problem.
2. Uninstall BOE 3.0 with Tomcat. Re- run the DS 3.0 Setup and chosse only to install the Tomcat and deploy the webapps.
About Metadata Integrator i have to pass, not quite sure. Isnt that a stand alone installation with also a WebApps and a own Repository?

-Seb.

  • Where is the Edge Inspect feature located in Dreamweaver 13.1 ?

When i read the DW help, the Edge Inspect feature must be located at "File->Preview in Browser->Preview in Edge Inspect". The last menu item is missing.

You should have Adobe Edge Inspect and Google Chrome installed on your machine for this menu item to appear.
    Please follow the instructions at:

Where can I see a full feature comparison of Nokia handsets? The Nokia website used be great for this, but now they've "upgraded" to a useless blue blob and the comparison engine has been reduced to "Smarrtphone or non-smartphone" and "Qwerty or touch", but the full feature comparison that used to be there has gone.
    Thanks for any help.

  • Deploying Access manager on Akamai Edge platform

We use akamai edge platform to deply our j2ee applications . Akamai edge platform is based on Websphere app server.
If we want to deploy access manager along with our application, will access manager be just a part of our WAR file ? Will Websphere access manager agent will be a part of that WAR file ?
We can not "install" anyting on the akamai edge except WAR file. So if it is possible to include in WAR file, we can save having our own web server just for the purpose of policy manager.
    Thanks

  • Feature comparison chart of LC Output vs LC Production Print?

Does anyone have a feature comparison chart of LC Output vs LC Production Print they can share with me?  If any competitive products are included in the comparison that would be nice.

  • Feature Comparison: LiveCycle vs. FormsCentral

I would very much appreciate being able to see a feature comparison between LiveCycle and FormsCentral. I get the basics of the differences, but I need to know much more specifically what I can and can't do in each product. And right now the most interesting feature to me is creating form fields that resize automatically as text is entered and will even span page boundaries.
    Thank you!

FormsCentral is more about hosting forms and collecting submitted data than form creation, whereas LiveCycle Designer is all about form creation. The FormsCentral designer is rather limited when it comes to layout and form behavior. No scripting or automatic calculations are allowed, just skip logic. A PDF form generated from a form designed with FormsCentral is similar, but skip logic isn't supported. With Designer you have complete control over the behavior of a form, can use scripting, and it can do what you want with expanding fields.

  • Windows 10 Editions - Feature Comparison and Differences

and Bitlocker is included with the Pro edition like it was with Windows 8 (but not Win7).
This alone will probably drive us upgrading, very glad to see it didn't change.
The only thing in Enterprise I'd like to see in Pro would be AppLocker.  I don't really care about the others, but this SRP fan would love to see what AppLocker can do.

Windows 10 Features have been widely covered by tech websites, whether we're talking about highly anticipatedadditions like Cortana, Microsoft Hello, the Edge browser, and virtual desktops (which will each be available across all Windows 10 editions). But up to this point, not much has been said about the differences between Windows 10editions and what features are included. Luckily, Microsoft has now released a full matrix comparing Windows 10 Home, Pro, Enterprise, and Education editions @http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/WindowsForBusiness/Compare. Of note: Only Windows 10 Enterprise editions will be able to take advantage ofthe Long Term Servicing Branch style updates, but the Pro, Enterprise, and Education editions will be able to use Windows Update for Business. Also, features like AppLocker, BranchCache, Direct Access, Credential...

  • Crystal report require SQL login while ran on EDGE platform

    Hello Experts:
I created a crystal report to run in BOBJ Edge X3.1 info view.
I created the crystal against a OLB DB datasource. Every time it started to run it ask for SQL connectivity information, such as sa and password. I certainly don't want the user have to put in a SQL connectivity string in there before they can run the crystal. Some one had suggested to me to create the crystal against Universe, however we are talking some pretty complex SQL statement that the OLB DB is running against, So it is very difficult to create a Universe for that and could change very frequently. Is there a way in BOBJ to record connectivity information for specific databases or some else on Crystal report that I can store that information so user wouldn't need to ask that every time?

Logon into the CMC and under Folders navigate to the report. Select it and in the context menu (right mouse button) select Database configuration . Make sure that the Use original database logon information from the report option is selected and  enter there the credentials fof the DB users you want to use. Scroll down at the bottom of the page and select the Use same database logon as when report is run option. Save your changes by pressing the Update button.

  • Adobe Edge Web Font Comparison?

Newbie here to web design (html, css, js), DW CC, and Edge Fonts.  Is there a "font finder" for Adobe Edge Web Fonts?  I found the regular font finder, but nothing for Edge fonts.
I'd like to do a side-by-side comprison of several edge web fonts for a header instead of trial and error into a website-name field for example.  If there isn't an edge font finder please recommend a easy way to accomplish this  - in simple terms please.  It's late and I'm sure it's staring me right in the face, but for the life of me I don't see it.
    Thanks!

YOu can try this - http://edgefonts.toekneestuck.com/
You need to get a list of all fonts that you would like to preview and then key them in the filter at the top of the page

  • Is there an IE 8 to FF 4 feature comparison guide?

    Hi.
As an IE 8 user, I am mystified as how come Mozilla does not have a transition guide for IE people like me who wish to defect to FF 4.
I need to know the feature for feature Q & A pitting each broswer against the other.
Either FF 4 is not as sophisticated as IE 8 or is so sophisticated that most of the features are hidden somewhere.
    Am I the only one?
example: IE 8 has "Accelerators" - what is the similar or exact funtion in FF 4?

  • What are the features supported in Cisco Prime Infrastructure for WLAN for autonomous AP's?

What are the features supported in Cisco Prime Infrastructure for WLAN for autonomous AP’s?

    • PI provides visibility for autonomous  clients within the same list view as lightweight and wired clients (client list  page).
    • Rogue AP detection for autonomous AP's is not supported (it's  supported in CUWN).
    • Alarms/events for client authentication issues (e.g.  authentication failure) are displayed in PI.
    • Config management for  autonomous AP's is via CLI template.  Config comparison and archiving  functionality in PI leverages these same features that were brought in from LMS,  so need to defer to others in terms of whether this is a cross-platform feature  in PI or is only supported on a subset of platforms.  Config comparison/archive  is supported in CUWN.PI supports both infrastructure (e.g. AP Tx Power and  Channel, busiest AP, AP utilization, etc.) and client (e.g. client count, client  sessions, etc.) reports, and there are extensive reports for CUWN

  • Comparison of RH7 to the "F" word - Flare 4

    All,
This is my first post and it's a doozy. I am the sole
technical writer at the business unit of my company. Our next
version of our main software product is moving to the .NET platform
which will require an overall of all documentation, including
screenshots, icons and procedures. I currently create online help
(in RH6) and printed installation and reference guides (in Word
2003). A lot of the same information is in the online help and the
printed reference manuals. I recognize the need for single-sourcing
and other technical writers in our corporation use Flare. My goal
is to enter/revise the information ONCE and then reuse it in the
online help and the printed documentation.
So here is the $64,000 question: How does RoboHelp 7 stack up
    feature-by-feature to its arch-nememsis Flare 4? I apologize in
advance for using such profane language here. :D
Unfortunately being the sole technical writer doesn't give me
the time to evaluate both versions so I was wondering if anyone
knew of any resources that have done a direct feature comparison
    (i.e. Feature X, Flare 4: yes, RH7: no).
Any help, suggestions, and comments would be greatly
    appreciated.
    Greg Davis
    Senior Technical Writer

    Hi Peter:
I have no confidence in RH because I pay $1600 a year for
technical support and can't get support. There is such a disconnect
between ADOBE and their customers who do have RH. Let me correct
myself we have RoboInfo. We have had Robo for the past 5 years. For
the past 2 years when we have needed support and I call them they
never have a record of our service contract. After I send them the
information (after I've been transferred around the company at
least 5 times, and am always transferred back to the first person I
spoke to and put on hold longer and longer each time) then their
standard response is to un-install and re-install. You would think
that I would learn that after 2 years of this we wouldn't pay any
more $ for support and just un-install and re-install to get it
working. But now we can't uninstall and reinstall because then we
lose it altogether because we can't get activated again. I
suggested that they come up with a bogus default activation code
that will work or be able to download the software from their site
but have them remove the activation need from the program.
And being a paying support customer it would have been nice
for them to let us know that they would not support our product or
our version of RoboEngine any longer and not wait until our
RoboEngine crashed and then we found out they wouldn't support our
product any longer. We have to re-boot our servers every hour (or
more) during the course of the day because it crashes.
I truly in my heart believe that this is not a product they
really want to have in their cache of products, it is just one they
inherited and they do not really care about it.
I tried to look at past posts in the RoboInfo community in
order try to solve our problem, (I figure the historical files in
the forum may be able to give me an idea because we can't be the
only ones having this problem) but the past posts are not
available. In general discussion it says there are over 200 posts,
but when you go into it there are no posts, so what happended to
    those old posts?
I am not saying that people on this forum flame each other,
but I sense a frustration with ADOBE that I don't see in the Flare
forum. The good thing in this forum are people like you who are
experts with RH are more helpful than the tech support people.
Maybe Flare won't be better and maybe it will. I have a
conference call set up with them and I am also setting up a
conference call with ADOBE for information to upgrade to 7.0. If we
go with the upgrade to 7.0 I can tell you now I will be giving the
technical support job (calling ADOBE) to one of my other
    co-workers.
Customer service is very important to me. I remember the days
when you called ehlepTechnical Support and weren't transferred or
put on hold, and the standard answer wasn't "uninstall/reinstall."
They knew the product they were helping you with.
Sorry to vent, but we are getting killed today with e-mails
because our servers are crashing more than yesterday and our
customer service people are frustrated because they can't do their
jobs fully without the system so we feed them the information they
need since we can get into the projects manually.
