BO Explorer with BW on HANA

In a scenario where BW is on HANA, the documentation mentions that unlike BWA, there is no need to index any of the cubes since they are automatically accelerated. I was wondering if all infocubes automatically become available in BO Explorer for Infospace creation also. In addition, since HANA is the database, the BWA restrictions of not being able to use calculated key figures with exception aggregation while creating explorer enhancements, should also not apply. I would appreciate feedback from someone who has implemented this scenario or can point me to SAP note/documentation on this topic.

1.Unlike BWA, there is no need to index any of the cubes since they are automatically accelerated.
Once you have HANA you donu2019t have to create index / aggregates , - since the data is going to be stored in colums and moved into in-memory for processing , it is going to be much ( as per SAP it is going to be 10X times )faster.
2.I was wondering if all infocubes automatically become available in BO Explorer for Infospace creation also.
As of BO 4.0, the answer is yes

Answer is yesu2026as you have pointed HANA is a database u2013 you can do all the calculation /exception at the database level with Sql.

Has anybody experienced problems in using Windows Explorer with VPC Virtual PC?
Lacking any "forbidden" or "appropriate usage" guidelines, I regularly use Windows Explorer (Windows 2000) to transfer file from the desktop. I have occasionally sensed that this might be wrong. Today I inadvertently clicked the MAC harddrive instead of the Desktop (within Windows Explorer) and caused all manner of mischief.
Any other views please?

Can I make an image display instead of flash slideshow on explorer with high security?

I am a total flash beginner. I created a simple flash slideshow that I want to appear on my website. It works fine in firefox., but when viewed in explorer with high security, nothing displays unless the viewer specifically allows it. The slideshow is very prominent, and the site looks very bad when only an x shows up. Is it possible to have a static image display in place of the slideshow, and then have the slideshow start if the viewer allows it? Is there any other way to get around this?

Have you tested it with IE online or only locally? Locally IE will usually prohibit displaying Flash content.

Lumira on HCP or Cloud Lumira server with backend as HANA DB

Hi
I have developed Lumira stories in desktop version and deployed in trial version of Cloud Lumira server.
But not able to connect HANA DB as backend to create stories in Cloud Lumira.
is there any way to create Cloud Lumira stories with backend as HANA DB ? i'm able to achieve this in desktop version and again not able to publish to Cloud Lumira.
i tried with Hana Cloud Platform trial account.
But i dont find Lumira Server on HCP. Only Cloud lumira is available where we are not able to connect with HANA DB.
Is Lumira is available on HCP ? or how to connect HANA DB with Cloud lumira server?
I'm new to Lumira developments, Any help would be appreciable.

I don't think you will be able to connect to those with trial accounts; those are typically limited in data sources

System landscape with one missing Hana (2 Hana / 3 ECC)

We’re currently working in a landscape with only 2 Hana: one for DEV+Integration (to be connected to 2 ECC : DEV and INT) and the other for the production system (connected to the prod ECC). Any idea on how we can deliver our tested developments on the same environment (the dev) for integration testing ?
On the DEV system we would like to have a development version of each object connected to the DEV ECC and an integration version of the same objects connected to the INT ECC.
We can copy all objects from one package (dev) to another (int), change the authoring schema and adapt all the inside references. I’m looking for an easier way, ideally with delivery units (which should be the way we will deliver our views on the production system).
Any input will be appreciated…

One of the key advantages and strategic benefits from our SAP SLcM solution is the fact that we are directly/automatically connected with core (academic supporting) backoffice processes like HR and Finance.

Hi.
Using latest version of APEX on Oracle XE 10.
I have a database that has fields with UNC paths in. I want to be able to launch Windows Explorer with these paths from an Interactive Report... is this possible?

I'm not sure if I've been clear in what I was asking as this seems like overkill at first glance - or maybe I just don't get what's actually involved! ;-)

I'd like the Path field to appear as a hyperlink that opens Windows Explorer with that path in the address bar. Is this not possible with javascript or something? Even if it is, I need some help with how/where to plug that into my Interactive Report.
If I used something other than an Interactive Report (e.g. just a regular form), could I code a button to do this task?

iCloud is not supported on Snow Leopard or lower, why bother to mention it?
The OP has an iCloud account, and that can not be opened without Lion or Mountain Lion (on a Mac), IOS5 or 6 (on an iPhone/iPad)

Connectivity with BW on HANA

Currently in Analysis for MS Office 1.4 you can connect to BEx queries via the “Netweaver” connection or the OLAP connection via the BI Platform. With BW on HANA, are there any performance gains by executing queries from an OLAP connection vs the Netweaver connection? If you currently use the "Netweaver" option to connect to BEx queries, do you connect to BEx queries differently after implementing BW on HANA?

The performance between Netweaver and BIP is almost the same and we cannot describe you a gain
of Netweaver or BIP. My suggestion here is to analyze the purpose of the connection as by the BIP you have more flexibility to deliver workbooks throw your users from a web portal.
Once you have the BW on HANA you don’t need to change the connection. It remains the same as the BW connection.

Anyone using Anapod Explorer with 5G iPod?

I am using it, and it's much simpler than Itunes to tranfer music. It also will add album art by searching Amazon.com. The problem I'm having, though, is that the album art won't be visible on the iPod unless you let iTunes optimize the art. This happens to both art added by Anapod Explorer or iTunes. Even if I just run Anapod Explorer with the iPod connected. and don't add any album art, the album art won't be visible on the iPod. The art is on the iPod, just won't show unless iTunes optimizes it. Any other Anapod Explorer users seeing this problem?

I upgraded to iTunes 12 last Sunday and had some initial problems with it splitting some albums & renaming a couple of others. This was irritating but gave me something to to on a rainy day to put it back as it was. It also suffers from a fault that previously arose in early versions of iTunes 11 and which was subsequently fixed - the one where, if you view an album or track in album view or playlist and then move to songs view (or vice versa) it doesn't hold the position and instead reverts to the top of the list. A bit irritating if you have to scroll back down again. I've reported this to Apple.
Anyway, this morning I synced my Classic for the first time & all seems to have gone ok - it took longer than usual because of all the changes caused by me fixing the above issues but all else seems fine.

How do I stop Firefox from updating Internet Explorer with my bookmarks?

I upgraded Mozilla Firefox recently and must have agreed to merge bookmarks. All my bookmarks now appear in Internet Explorer also. Any changes affect explorer. I can't figure out how to stop. I can disable on the explorer end but not Firefox.

I do not fully understand what you are trying to explain.
Firefox certainly does not ordinarily update or change your IE favourites.
(You are able to export Firefox bookmarks in a suitable {HTML} format though)
Firefox bookmarks are not the same as IE's favourites. You are able to import the HTML favourites from IE. Firefox then converts these to the required Firefox formats and keeps the bookmarks to itself.
Unless possibly you have some utility that exports the Firefox bookmarks and over writes the IE files ?
Or maybe you are just reading HTML files and folders with Firefox instead of using Firefox bookmarks.

Integartion of Business objects explorer with ABAP ALV

Hello all,
We have a requirement to integrate one of our applications with business objects explorer. The complete details is as listed below:
1. Our application basically collects feedback provided by users and then displays an ALV with all the feedback ratings received for a topic.
2. It summarizes to the user the average rating received, number of 1star ratings , 2 star ratings etc.,
3. Instead of showing this in the ALV format we have requirement where we want to upload this data into the Business Objects explorer so that the user has a more user-friendly and intutive display of the same data rather than in a ALV.
Any inputs on how we can trigger business objects explorer from ABAP code and pass the data in the internal table used for ALV display to it would be very helpful.

there has been a demo of this by Enterprise Geeks during TechED 2009 and the code is posted on their website.
the other option is to export the data to Excel and then use BusinessObjects Explorer in the cloud for example.

iam new to this forum and posting a question on java application where i had a problem.
I work in a software company. we have developed an application and it is in production and we had a small problem. we have deifferent kinds of reports te users can get dynamicalty based on theirn requet parameters. so when we are deployingthe application on server and accessing it from the client machine(bothe the server and client are diferent i mean different machines) they get an information bar that
"To help protect your security, Internet Explorer blocked this site from downloading files to your computer. Click here for options". and for this we have given them the solutions for setting the security features for the
Internet Explorer . but they want it to be done thru program such that they dont want to see that message. i need a small help for this.
It would be very help ful for me in my carreer if i get a solution for this.

I'm not 100% sure, but doesn't all applets have the same popup bar? I guess you can tell your customers to turn off their popup blocker beforehand. (This is what my uni does with WebCT Vista)
