Business Objects Financial Consolidation - Excel Link and VBA Macros

We use the excel links of Business Objects Financial Consolidation V10.5 to import and export data to/from BOF and excel
We used VBA macros for the imports but do not know what VBA code is required to export - this code would include the package identifier that has to be selected in the window "Select item Package "
Can anyone help?

Delete user in BO Financial Consolidation version 7.0 (10.5.1)

Hi...
can someone please explain me how to delete an user in BusinessObjects Financial Consolidation version 7.0 (10.5.1)?
If I select the user to be deleted, the option "Delete" (or through the menu "Edit - Delete") on the context menu is grey. I cannot select it...
How can I enable the "delete" option?
Or is there any other way to delete an user in this version?

Difference between Oracle Financial Consolidation Hub and Hyperion Financial Management

Dear All,
Greetings!
We are at a client site where the existing consolidation process is performed using the Oracle Financial Consolidation Hub (FCH)
The client is interested to migrate or utilize the power of Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and want to utilize Hyperion going forward
Queries:
1. Can we integrate or migrate the Oracle FCH to HFM
2. What are the major differences between Oracle FCH and HFM - functionally and technically?
3. Which is more advantageous considering the growth potential, future opportunities of expansion of the company?
Any help on this query (at the earliest) is highly appreciated as we have the real scenario in hand.

FCH was a product launched by Oracle to counter Hyperion Financial Management. However, it is not a proven tool. HFM has a very good market standing coupled with its other reporting capabilities. Also, HFM is a industry leader now.
Financial Consolidation Hub will be removed from the Oracle E-Business Suite Component. FCH will not be included with Release 12.1. This is why, customers are advised to move to Hyperion Financial Management.
An automatic migration utility from FCH to HFM has not been implemented. FCH customers who wish to implement Hyperion Financial Management will have to install the application and complete the implementation process manually.

Financial Consolidation of multiple companies

You need to find (or develop) and add-on that allows the MultiCompany.
One example is CitiXsys, they have a solution like that or you can try to look for another SAP partner that may provides that in your region.

Problem with DimensionBuilder (Business Objects Financial Consolidation)

Description of Problem or Question:
Hi all,
i try to create a new Dimension as described in the help by switching into "Definition Mode" of the Dimensionbuilder. In "data sources" I select the "amounts" folder and Select File -> New -> Dimension. Unfortunatelly the Dimension entry is greyed so that i can not select it. It is also not possible to load data into the existing dimensions or reference tables.
Any ideas how to solve that problem?

The problem is solved. If you have the same problem, make sure that your database is initialized as a top site. By default the database is initialied as a child site which means that customizing is not possible.

EC-CS, BPC, BOBJ Financial Consolidation Compare

What major difference would be there between EPM solutions "BPC" and "Financial Consolidation" as far as consolidation goes? What added advantage do we get compared the original EC-CS in SAP? How long will EC-CS can be used or supported by SAP?

ECCS is supposed to out of active maintenance around 2009. But this was the news some time back. But one customer configured for go live in ECCS this November.2009.
BOBJ concoliation will be merged with BPC landscape soon. This is pure business objects way of doing consolidation and SAP bought the BO and trying to merge it with BPC product.
BPC is the wayforward for SAP...not only they are maintaining BPC's original format of outlooksoft with minor modification, in BPC7NW release they inegrated with BI/BW. In BPC 7.5/8 NW version they are going to integrate the BO fully to BPC.

I have a client who wants to implement only consolidation in system and we would like to know which product to implement BPC or Financial consolidation.
Is there any advantage/ disadvantage if we go ahead with BPC and not Financial consolidation.

One major difference which BPC has over their competettor product is
"BPC is a unifed application for finacial planning , forcasting , budgeting & consolidation."
if u thinking to use other functions apart from consolidation like planning etc ... then BPC is the go forward path for u

Can I use Discoverer to do financial consolidation

Hi all,
Can anyone advise if Discoverer can be used as a financial consolidation tools. Basically we are using Oracle Apps 10.7 with 7.3 database and have mutliple instance over two servers.
We are currently using Frango, a consolidation tools, to generate our consolidated finance report but are planning to look into alternative.
Appreciate if anyone can provide advise. Besides, what about Oracle Express? It also appears to be a similar OLTP tool.

I think you should take a close look at OFA (Oracle Financial Analyser). This product can extract data from you Oracle applications and consolidate.

Hi Experts,
I'm busy testing the B1i SO to PO scenario as training to familiarize myself with B1i. My client actually need financial consolidation of several SBO databases into the Consolidated SBO database. Is there such a BizPackage avaialable from SAP?
If not, is this something that is going to be developed? I would believe that several SBO clients have this need.

Intercompany matching list for SAP BusinessObjects Financial Consolidation

Hello,
I am looking for a solution to show an intercompay matching list for SAP BusinessObjects Financial Consolidation (aka Cartesis Finance / Magnitude).
Is it possible for the intercompany reconciliation, to show all partner information on each account? I prefer a solution before consolidation, if possible (and without an implementation SAP BO Intercompany).

I've created 2 Member List, both identical either for ICP and Entities, using scripts... and it works well....
I've Build up the report in this way:
Grid1 Acct Pay Acct Rec Matching Difference
ICP / Entity XXX Grid2. Column[A] [A]-
Grid 2 (Hide) Acct Rec
Entity / ICP XXX
Note that the Grid1 is getting the information from Grid2 and doing the matching difference. As a result I'm getting a bit list with about 210K lines, that brings to me all possible combinations with all entities. Basically the final report should have about 1K lines for every month, it means that there is a lot of Zero's on the rows. The solution I've found is use the suppress option, but as a result I've got a new problem!!
The Fist(Acct Pay) and the 3rd (Matching Difference) Column Looks fine, but the 2nd column that is "linked' with the grid 2 becomes 0.
And I'm struggling myself to get it done !! eheh If someone know how to get it fix please let me know!!

Financial Consolidation Hub (FCH) vs Global Consolidation System (GCS).

Does any one know the benefits offered by Financial Consolidation Hub (FCH) over Global Consolidation System (GCS).
GCS comes with GL module and it is pretty sophisticated. My question is what are the benefits offered by FCH module (which is new in R12) over GCS?

NOT is the same.. legal & management are diferent.
the diference is the master data, while you have for consolidation.
the legal consolidation only take the company code, because the County's legal policies just is interesting in your company, your statements about your company.
The management consolidation take company but take another master data, usually Cost Center or Bussines Area, your client is interesting in the business´s behavior.
So, if you have a legal consolidation you are ok with the legal policies, but if you need more detail, you need management legal.
if you want legal and management, you need settings for a parallella consolidation. or take diferents areas for consolidation.

In master data you define company, if you need management consolidation you should add another master data like cost center or bussines area in the subgroup.
