BO Import to different Version

Can an Universe and WEBi reports created in BO XI 3.1 be imported or migrated to BO XI R3?

Hi,
sorry - are you asking if you can downport a universe from XI 3.1 to XI 3.0 ? I would suggest you post the question into the related Universe Designer forum

  • PTE file imports with different versions of ALUI?

    Hi,
I am wondering if anyone knows of any issues with the import/export of data in ALUI via the PTE file from one version of ALUI to another. For example, are there any issues with exporting data from v6.5 of ALUI and importing it into v6.0 or v6.1. I have been able to do this before, but I don't know if ALUI is happy with seeing a newer version of the PTE file that it is trying to process. Any thoughts you have are appreciated!

You could try renaming the new file with the old name but I don't think
that's that's going to be a recipe for success.
Other than that, you're using a very dangerous workflow. Everything here
is designed to revolve around a single InDesign file with however many
    assignments or packages there are.

  • Export and import between different versions

    Hi everyone,
I have some databases in Oracle 7.2, and others in 9i Release 2. Sometimes we have to do exports and imports between them, and I want to know if running the catexp.sql or the catext7.sql file also applies to 9iR2 version.
    Thanks in advance,
    Tania L.

According to what I have heard yes but I have not tested.

  • How to deal with different versions of Idocs in XI

    Hi,
I am doing a scenario IDoc to IDoc but on both sides SAP versions are different say 5.0 and 4.6
I have done all the configuaration and it is working fine.
But in sxmb_moni getting "Outbinding"(this is not error)
and in attributes in trace it is saying "segment version"..
i guess while transporting to QA and Prod it might trigger some problems...
i could not find any docs properly in SDN......
could anyone give input how to deal situation like this?
    regards.

    HI Swarup,
    thanx for the response.
i did the same thing...i imported 2 different versions into xi and used in mapping.and interface is working fine.
what i am concerned is : will there be any problem in future while transporting to different environments?
and why it is showing 'segment version' in attribute in Trace in sxmb_moni....
any inputs will be help full....
    Thanx in advance.

  • Importing transports in different versions.

    Dears,
I want to confirm that is it possible to perform transports in different version systems. Our requirement is to create the request from ECC5 and then import it in our Netweaver 04s server.
So first I want to know is it possible and second thing as i know for it i have to only manually copy cofile and datafile in target system and then by STMS add to buffer and then import,Is there anything else also i have to do like changing file permission.I am using windows 2003 server.
    Please suggest.
    Deepak

as u would be aware transport is done by r3 trans
different versions of R3trans are fully compatible with each other, because the data is transported in a standard format. Thus one can use different versions of R3trans for export and import.
Transports between different databases or operating systems are not a problem either.
When you transport between different SAP release levels, note that this usually does not present any technical problems due to the upward and downward compatibility of R3trans , but logical inconsistencies could occur in such transports
Further technical and logical problems for the various releases are outlined in notes 60928, 120151, 126776 and 330267.
    hope this helps !

    1.     What change do I need to make while importing since database version in source and target are different?
    2.     Do I need to change any thing in my import command?

    1. What change do I need to make while importing since database version in source and target are different? You don't have to do anything. You are exporting metadata that will be recreated in your new database and new version. Just run the import command.
    2. Do I need to change any thing in my import command?I don't think you need to change anything. You an add parallel if you want, but the import parallel does not have to match the export parallel, so keeping it as you have it will be fine.

  • How can I run two different versions of Firefox, the latest does not work with an important site I need to use?

With the latest version of Firefox I cannot send "Quick Mails" to my students using the college's ANGEL system. I had to uninstall it and go to an earlier version. I prefer the newest rev.
Any way to run two different versions. It does not have to be simultaniously. Seems to be a problem on both my Mac and XP systems.
    Thanks,
    Kim

Currently I don't think there is a way to run two version of firefox at the same time. But you can install Firefox Beta or Aurora instead (which is build for future release for firefox) and help test it! Here's the link:

  • Only CERTAIN videos will not import in BOTH versions of iMovie

Heya, I'm dying here, hoping someone can help:
I've been filming video with my camera, but for some reason, one out of every 6 or 7 times a file will absolutely not import into iMovie.
They play absolutely fine with audio and everything in Quicktime, but when I try to import to iMovie '08, they simply do not show up as thumbnails even though it goes through the whole "creating thumbnails" process.
When I try importing them into iMovie HD 6, I get a "file cannot be imported: unknown error" message.
Everything else I film with my camera and import into either version of iMovie works just fine! It's only certain ones... but it always happens to be the most important clips!
There's GOT to be some way to fix this, right?

Everything was filmed with the exact same settings.
Your argument here is "inductive" and does not confirm that all stored files are in fact in the same compression format and settings. You need to apply a "deductive" approach. As I implied and QT Kirk specifically stated, you need to actually examine the files to determine their internal specifications -- comparing the working with non-working files to look for differences.
I've tried Streamclip, but when I try to save it as an avi, mpeg, dv, or even a renamed mov file, it says "Error: Could not prepare clip"
If your are trying to use the "Save As..." option here, you are not, in fact, performing a "conversion" but rather merely attempting to place the same content in a different file container. MPEG Streamclip does not, for instance, have the ability to export non-MPEG2 content to MPEG (MPEG-2 'muxed" or elementary streams) which would be incompatible with iMovie '08 in any event. As to AVI, you mush have one of the required AVI QT components installed and the compression formats you are trying to place in the AVI container must be compatible with the AVI container which is itself compatible with iMovie '08 as long as its contents are already edit compatible. As to DV, this one one usually difficult to mess up unless you were trying to turn it into a transport stream.
today I tried taking the original quicktime MOV file from the camera (the one that plays just fine in quicktime AND streamclip, just won't convert or import)
This statement seems to imply that something is wrong with your attempted work flow. If the file opens and plays in the QT Player and MPEG Streamclip, then it should be convertible. Once again, the primary problem is determining how to best perform this conversion which is why Karsten, QT Kirk, and I need specific information regarding the actual compression format, whether or not the compression settings were compatible with the QT structure, and whether or not an extraneous track (e.g., a "Tweener") might be causing difficulties. Posting a screen capture of the "Inspector" and/or "Properties" window or a sample file should provide the needed information.

  • How can I import a new version of a distributed form?

I recently imported and distributed a PDF form created in Acrobat 9.0.
I would like to add some ToolTips to this form, but the downloaded version.
Is there a way for me to import a new version and still accept responses from those who received the original version without the ToolTips?

    Hi;
You are wanting to edit an existing distributed PDF (from the Import PDF feature) and collect responses in the same form in the FormsCentral "View Responses" tab after importing the edited PDF... No, if you re-import your PDF (the one you downloaded from FormsCentral with the Submit button) it would be a new form in FormsCentral and would require downloading a new Submit enabled PDF.  Responses from those two downloaded distributed PDFs would go into two different forms in FormsCentral.
However - you can try making the changes to your downloaded submit enabled PDF, adding tool tips should not break the form and you should be able to send out your newly edited PDF to users and both the new and old versions would submit to the same form in FormsCentral.  You do have to be careful with the types of edits you make in that PDF, and you would not want to re-import that modified PDF, simply distribute that PDF.
Here is an FAQ on editing a FormsCentral PDF: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-3661
Let me know if that doesn't answer your question clearly.
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • Can different Versions of LV coexist on a PC

    atr wrote:

    No
    problem!. I have LabVIEW 5.1.1, 6.0.2, 6.1, 7.0, 7.1.1, and 8.0 on my
computer. However if you ever have to reinstall it is important to
maintain the order of installation starting from the lowest LabVIEW
version and going up. Also with very old LabVIEW versions you can get
into troubles with some Toolkits and drivers such as NI-DAQ. NI-DAQ for
instance can't coexist in different versions and the newer versions
necessary for LabVIEW 8.0 do not support every LabVIEW version back to
4.x and earlier. I think LabVIEW 6.1 should be just about fine or just
not anymore so check that out but one of the next NI-DAQ releases is
likely to drop that support if it is still present.

  • What is the best way to save different versions of a project?

I am working on a documentary with hundreds of hours of footage. I've been told that to avoid file corruption, I need to regularly save different version of the project. I've done some research and there appears to be different ways to do this.
In Lisa Brenneis's FCP book, she suggests using "Save As" to protect one's work (renaming the old copy with a version number, and using the same name for the most updated version). This makes sense to me, since this would avoid FCP creating new capture folders every time I change the name of my project. However, I'm wondering if there is a difference between doing Brenneis' technique or duplicating the project.
Are there different schools of thoughts on this? Does anyone have a system that works for them that they recommend? I've done research and I can't find anything on this topic, other than issues with backing up (I'm working with several hard drives - but what I'm most concerned about is avoiding file corruption and making sure my media isn't all over the place).
    Thanks for sharing!

    Good topic!
I use the technique of popping over to Finder and using command-D
to make a copy every once in a while. Then at the end of the day,
I'll make a copy of the session to another disk. Whenever I've done
a lot of work that I never want to lose, I take a copy to another location.
If a backup is super-important, be sure to test it!
It only takes a minute to quit FCP, and double-click on the backup.
When I return to work the next day, after making sure my project opens,
I delete all the "copy" files, then make a new one and the process repeats.
When I output the edit for others to work on or approve, I will make
a special copy of the project with the date encoded in the file name,
    Japanese-style (e.g. MyProject_2009-01-22.fcp and RoughEdit_2009-01-22.mov),
then I never touch that file. Doing the dates Japanese-style means
that they will be organized chronologically in Finder.
Keeping these intermediate projects means that people can refer
to very specific times on specific versions, and I can find exactly
    what they are talking about.
As far as media goes, most people do not back up tape,
because it's such a pain (you need two drives). People tend
to keep their tapes in a box somewhere. This can work OK
if you never use Capture Now.
Since capturing from tape is such a time-consumer,
and since I don't usually work with tape anyway,
I focus on good disk backup. Ideally I'll have a disk
and a backup at home, and a copy of the media files
    at another location.
Be sure to keep the backups organized and named
carefully so you can FIND what you are looking for
if you need to. Adding a little text file in your folder
explaining stuff is not a bad idea.
People talk a lot about media failure, and yes all media
will fail someday, but I use backups mostly because
of my mistakes, like deleting the wrong file or something
    stupid like that.
Be sure to back up all the other little files you might be
using in a project, like Filemaker databases, graphics files,
    important emails, hours logs, etc.
It's good that you are thinking about this important topic.

  • Running 2 different version of Quicktime at the same time ?

Is it possible to have two different versions of QuickTime installed on one PC at the same time ?
The reason for this is that I have been using Sony's software MovieShaker to import and work with Sony's proprietary MMV video camera format. This piece of software works with QuickTime version 5.
Now that I recently bought the iPod nano, I have installed iTunes, which of course works with a higher version of QucikTime (6+).
With this higher version of QuickTime, my video capture software does not work and vice versa, with QuickTime 5 my iTunes (and iPod nano) can not be used.
Is there a possible workaround that someone is aware of such that I can still work from one PC?
    Appreciate any feedback - thanks
PC Windows   Windows XP Pro   Sony Movieshaker 3.1 MMV format

You can only have one full installation of the QuickTime system software but the Player is just an application and should work with later versions. So what you need to do is re-install QT 5, which you can find for Windows here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/quicktime/
then rename QT Player, let say Quicktime Player5. then reinstall QT 6. This time it should ignore the renamed Player (to be safe save it off line somewhere before reinstalling QT 6). No guarantee for Windows but this techinque works fine in QT for MacOS. Hope this works for you.

  • MDM between different versions of SAP

    Hi,
Scenario: I have two SAP systems. A is 4.6C and B is ECC 6.0
Is it possible to use one MDM between the two system?
    E.g.
    (SAP 4.6C) <--> (SAP MDM) <--
    > (SAP ECC 6.0)

    Hi Riaan,
Yes, i think you can use MDM for different versions of SAP. As you know Data communicates between R/3 to MDM using PI, so in PI during Configuring Scenario, when you Transfer Integration Scenario from Integration Repository, you have option to use Version Number for Same SAP System during Assign Services.
Also in Integration Builder:Design of PI , you can use Import software components Version which can be transfer from System Landscape Directory (SLD) using Tools from Menu Bar.
This is because you have Registered SAP Sytem in SLD.
Also, In SLD you have Software Catalogs under this Software Component here you have registered software component with Versions for the Same SAP Product.
    Hope it will help you,
    Rewards if Useful.....
