How do I get a list of the reports that a user has access to?
<p>I need to be able to determine which reports a specified user has access to. This is for an application where users will be able to search and view reports that have been archived through a separate process. </p><p>I've searched through the developer library, but I can't find this specific information. Can I use the ObjectPrinicpals class to get this info?</p><p>Thanks!</p><p>-Dell<br /></p>
Hi Robert!
Yes, the presentation went well. It was a lot of fun to do and I had a great time at the conference.
Your suggestion works great if I'm walking down through the reports looking to see who has access to them.Â
However, I need to do this starting from the User object. When I use the ObjectPrincipals of the User, I get a list of the users who have the rights to modify the user. I did a lot of work on this last week and it boils down to I'm going to have to actually log in as the user (I can use trusted authentication to do this without having the user's password) and then run a query to select all of the reports in the system - this should give me just the reports that the user has access to. Not the most efficient way to get the data from my perspective, but it should work.
This would be a great feature to have added to future versions of the SDK. I need it for a couple of purposes:
1. To gather information to set up the security in my archive viewer application.
2. For auditing purposes - we currently have only Professional licenses so I don't have access to the internal auditing functionality. Plus, I'm not sure that that includes the kind of info I'm looking for so I'm building an app that extracts information to XML which is then used by a couple of reports so that I can provide the audit info as needed.

How to find the list of plants that a user has access to
Hi,
Can any one help me pull all the plants that a user has authorization for?
Is there any fucntion module that gives this list or any table from where i can pull this?
Please let me know.
Regards,
Kumar.Looks like this FM is only giving the list of all users who has got authorization to a specific autho object say M_EINF_WRK (plant).
But my requirement is; i will pass my user id and it should give me all the plants that i have access to.
Please suggest.
Regards,
Kumar. -

SQL query to find all suites that are associated with automation
I trying to incorporate CodeUI tests into a Release Mangement deployment template ... As a developer, I want to be able to specify a sub-tree of a test plan & only execute those test suites that are associated with automation. Is there a way to
extract all automated workitems and associated them with their respective test suites?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!John,
I've partially resolved the issue of executing a sub-set of suites with the following powershell implementation:
1. Extract "potential" suite paths from a XML configuration file:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<Configurations>
<Properties>
<Property key="DEFAULT" value="SuitePaths" />
<Property key="DatabaseServer" value="MYDBSERVER" />
<Property key="DatabaseInstance" value="Default" />
<Property key="DatabaseName" value="TFS_DefaultCollection" />
<Property key="ConfigurationName" value="US - Windows 7 and IE 10" />
</Properties>
<Notifications>
<Notification key="0" value="[email protected]" />
</Notifications>
<SuitePaths>
<SuitePath key="0" value="MyProject\WebProduct\Student\Features\Login" />
<SuitePath key="1" value="MyProject\WebProduct\Student\Features\Logout" />
</SuitePaths>
<AreaPaths>
<AreaPath key="0" value="MyProject\WebProduct\Student\Features\Login" />
</AreaPaths>
</Configurations>
2. Extract record set of suites from TFS via SQL query:
# FUNCTION: Retrieve-SuitePaths
# Parameters:
# (1.) LogFile -- Name of log file (e.g., C:\Temp or C:\Temp\DEPLOY_DatabaseServer_WebCMS2_DF06_20131031.6.log)
# (2.) Connection -- Database connection
# (3.) Paths -- Hash table of suite paths
Function Retrieve-SuitePaths
param
[Parameter(Mandatory=$True)][String]$LogFile,
[Parameter(Mandatory=$True)]$Connection,
[Parameter(Mandatory=$True)]$Paths
Write-Output '--------------------------------------------------------------------------------' | Out-File -FilePath $LogFile -Append
Write-Output "Retrieve suite(s): " | Out-File -FilePath $LogFile -Append
Write-Output '--------------------------------------------------------------------------------' | Out-File -FilePath $LogFile -Append
$SuitePaths = "("
$Counter = 0
foreach ($Key in $Paths.Keys)
if ($Counter -gt 0)
$SuitePaths = $SuitePaths + ", "
$SuitePaths = $SuitePaths + "'" + $Paths.Get_Item($Key) + "'"
$Counter += 1
$SuitePaths = $SuitePaths + ")"
# --DEBUG ONLY--> Write-Output "Paths: $SuitePaths" | Out-File -FilePath $LogFile -Append
$Command = New-Object System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand
$SQLStatement = "

Query to find all the view name and their size in GB
Hi,
What is the query to find all the view name and their size in GB.I am aware of joining all_views and user_segments but this is not serving the purpose.is there any table i need to join to get the desired result
ThanksYou could of course be thinking of views as they are stored in other RDBMS' as some of them actually create the view as a table on the database with a copy of the data in it and maintain that data as the base tables are updated.
As already mentioned, Oracle just stores the SQL of the View and executes that SQL when the view is queried.
Alternatively, Oracle also has "materialized views" which are created as snapshots of the data and will have a size. This data is updated (refreshed) based on the parameters used when creating the materialized view which means that it will either be, commonly, when a commit is issued or when a refresh is explicitly requested (refresh on demand). -
I am looking for a query to find all software on a specific computer. I have found several on a specific piece of software but I need multiple pieces of software. I have tried creating this query but it shows ALL the software on the computer. I'm looking
for one that narrows it down to a few pieces of software i.e Office, Adobe, Snagit, IE and Chrome. Possibly using Add/Remove Software?It's an asset intelligence report, do you have that enabled?
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg699382.aspx
Alternatively, take a look at the 'Products on a specific computer' report (Software - Companies and Products category) and see if that gets you what you need.

How to find all photos that have NO faces, as opposed to UNNAMED faces?
I find that iPhoto often misses faces entirely, especially if the face is wearing sunglasses or a hat or both. Sometimes it is rather inexplicable that it has missed a face, as the face seems obvious.
If you use the smart album method to find all "unnamed" faces, the photos have at least one unnamed face identified. You can then add any missed faces to those photos.
But what about photos in which iPhoto has failed to identify the existence of even one face? Or for that matter, if I want to see only pictures of landscapes or objects that have no people? Does anyone have a method for finding all photos that have no faces in them at all?
For me, the idea is to find all unidentified faces and add them. But as I pointed out above, there may be other uses for this.
Any ideas, anyone?
ThanksAwesome !!! Thank you very much. I did not realize you could use JavaScript to code against iTunes ...
I don't know if you have written any of these yourself, but do you know how to maybe create a smart playlist with this information via script? If not, no big deal. At least I know have something which I can use, I will just have to run it every so often.
Thanks again for pointing me to that site! -

thanks for replying guys. But the thing is i am using dynamic sql execute immediate in my package, so i want those tables also and the schema name.
thanks,
ortonThis is not possible. The best you could do is to have a good guess.
Or how would you parse some dynamic statement as this:
v_suffix := 'loyees';
v_sql := 'Select count(*) from (select ''nonsense'' col1 from emp'||v_suffix||') where col1 = ''Y'''';
execute_immediate(v_sql);
...What is the table name? How do you want to parse that?
Better rewrite all dynamic SQL statements into non dynamic ones. Or do the source control logic for those dynamic parts in an extra module. For example implement your own dependency table and force every developer to add there all dynamic parts.
