BO SP3 issues

We recently installed BO SP3 on 2 different servers. After installing SP3 onto the 2nd server, we are now getting strange errors when using Webi.
Error 1 u2013 An error occurred when trying to set preferences. Please contact you Business Objects administrator. (Error: INF). Not sure how to resolve this.
Error 2 u2013 the header images are missing. We have a red x where SAP BUSINESSOBJECTS INFOVIEW .gif should be in the left corner. In the right corner the SAP BusinessObjects logo is also missing. How do I go about fixing this?
Error 3 u2013 When we select a report, we get Access is Denied. If you click on the OK button, the report will run as expected.
All suggestions greatly appreciated.  ~Krysta

Hi Krista,
Sounds like one or both of the installations didn't install correctly.
Were these upgrade installs or full product installs?  In other words, did you upgrade a version of XIR3.1 or install SP3 directly on these machines?
Can you try shutting down all the process on 1 of the servers and then test this again?  If that fails as well, bring those services back up and then stop the ones on the other server.  This will tell us if it's just one of the installs that's bad or not.
Other than that, I would maybe suggest doing reinstalls or first attempting a repair on these installs.  These could be related to missing runtime files or maybe incomplete WAR file deployment on your application server.
If you are using the standard tomcat that installs with the product, you could try renaming the BOE related folders under the tomcat55/webapps folder and then restarting tomcat.  This should redeploy the WAR files.  Just make sure that you leave it for about 30 minutes after doing this as it takes a while to extract all these WAR files again.  Do not stop/restart Tomcat until the logs indicate that has redeployed all of the WAR files again.
Hope this helps,
Jonathan

  • WRTU54G-TM Internet / Blue-light & XP SP3 Issues

So I've been wrestling with getting the WRTU54G-TM maintain a constant internet and "blue light" connection now for over a month.  I thought I had finally stabilized the situation (downloaded the set-up wizard from the Linksys site, as others recommended) and used that to set up the router, and everything seemed to be rock solid for a week or so.
Then I installed both iTunes 8 (which installs the new version of the Bonjour service) and XP Service Pack 3 in the same weekend, and now the WRTU54G-TM gets flaky every time I turn on my computer (it's fine when the computer is off).
At first I thought it was the Apple Bonjour application, but after un-installing that, the WRTU54G-TM was still flaky.  I then upgraded the router to the latest firmware version (v1.00.09), but still no luck.  The router will lose the internet connection (and the blue light), and after a few minutes the connection will come back and the blue light will come back a few minutes after that (at least no power cycle is needed).
So I'm left wondering if XP SP3 is what is now causing the problem and is doing something to mess with the router connectivity.
Does anyone know of SP3 issues with the WRTU54G-TM and how to resolve these?
    Thanks!
    Ian

I did a little bit more research and found that XP SP3 is indeed causing a number of routers to crash and reboot (which is what I'm experiencing when my computer is on).
Apparently there is some issue involving DCHP and "Option 43" which can cause some routers to reboot.  There's more information and a hotfix here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/953761 which I'm going to try tonight (crossing my fingers) and hopefully it will solve the problem...

  • T410 thin client RDP Client Error Windows XP SP3 issue

I've switched out the VMs they were connecting to completely and we're still running into this issue. The next step is switching out the thin clients themselves. Bump if anyone's run into this issue before.

I'm having an issue with 2 of my HP Smart Zero t410 thin clients. They each RDP into an XP SP3 virtual machine hosted on a virtual server running VWWare ESXi 5.0.0. Randomly in the morning they'll both disconnect from their virtual machines. Sometimes at the same time, sometimes not. I'm monitoring both the thin clients and the virtual machines with software that pings everything 30 seconds, nothing ever drops a ping. I've tested the wire, the wire is good. I've made sure the thin clients are up to date with the latest firmware. The last thing I've tried is replacing the switch both of these machines are connection. One thin client comes up with an error message "RDP Client Error: Reboot Necessary" then below "The firmware has experienced a critical error. Please reboot this client." After I close the error I can RDP back in. The other thin client also gives an "RDP Client Error" and down below mentions MANTICORE but I did not write down the entire error message. I have 30 other t410's deployed at various locations, all connected via RDP to a Windows Server 2008 R2 terminal with no issue for over a year. These last two have maybe in for three weeks and have continuously thrown this error randomly. Any help is appreciated.

  • WRT54GX2 Rebooting - Windows XP SP3 issue??? New Firmware Needed?

    Have a WRT54GX2, version 1.0, with firmware 1.01.22. Maybe a month ago noticed that I had to power cycle the unit once a week to get my Pap2t voip to work better. Got back this weekend from a trip, noticed that it was rebooting, sometimes as often as every few minutes. Yanked it out, tossed in an old Airlink until I could troubleshoot. Started digging around, and could not find any good reasons for the rebooting. THEN, I noticed via online searches that the Windows XPSP3 release that recently came out has caused some documented and confirmed problems with other wired/wireless routers. Here's a quote;
Broadband modem/router maker Billion says XP SP3 has been causing its BiPAC 5200-series routers to go into a constant crash and reboot cycle.
The company has produced firmware upgrades that solve the problem, which relate to a bug in Billion's code, not Microsoft's. It relates to the fact that Microsoft has started issuing "flag 43" as part of DHCP messages to the modem -- something that has been built into the DHCP specification for 11 years, but not actually used in Windows until XP SP 3.
Although Windows XP SP3 has been available for manual download from Microsoft since May 6, it has just hit Windows Update as an automatic upgrade, which will cause unexpected problems for owners of “unpatched” Billion BiPAC 5200 routers, and possibly other brands or models of router.
Is there someone here from Linksys that can address this??????? As of the time of this posting, the latest firmware is still 1.01.22 that I could find.
    Thanks.

No responses here, so I did the online support, went through the chats, one "tech" said that the computer operating system didn't matter or have any effect on the router! I finally got it escalated, had someone call me. At least this person was able to acknowledge that there was a problem. She could not provide any additional information, but said to "keep checking back" to the support pages, for a new firmware to be released. I asked several times if for sure there would be a fix for my older router, and each time she just repeated to "check the support pages".
I seriously doubt that any units more than a year old will be supported by the factory, given the other posts here, as well as the lack of responses by anyone from Linksys to any difficult or non-standard technical questions.
(Mod note: Edited for guideline compliance. Thank you.)

  • [BPC 7.0 SP3] Issue to restore a backup using the server manager

    Hello,
I'm faced with a contraignant issue. I'm trying to restore a previous back up done with the server manager but I get the following error message at the "fileDB" step :
"Cannot find the Appset or cannot copy files" with a red cross "FileDB : Fail
I checked the fileDB folder, no files in use by another process.
I also tried to run a full optimize before running a new back-up, but the restore still failled.
Has someone already been faced with this problem ?
    Kind regards,
    Lionel

Thank you Petar for this reply.
In the file DB I have just a temp file in each subfolder related to the applications, so yes it empty.
So, I understand that you suggest to use the FileDB of the apshell in place of the second's, right ?
On the other hand, I'm not sure to understand well when you talk about "blank copy". Do you mean I just have to create an empty folder and make a zip archive ?
If so, do I have to create the subfolders and the temp files before making the archive ?
Besides, what is the usefulness of these temp files located in each subfolders ?
Thank you again for your very useful help.

  • Dynamic Local User Issue

When i look at snapins thru consoleone i can see that Zenwork 7.0.1 snapin is installaed.
I have Novell Client 4.91 SP5 and Zenwork Client 7.0.173.91015 installed on the clients running WinXP Pro SP3.
There is different of failures that happens..
    Senario 1:
I install a Latitude D610 with a WinXP Pro SP3 original CD, from scratch. I only install the drivers for the LAN-card to get access to the network. I do not update windows updates etc.
I install the Novell Client 4.91 SP5, after that i install Zenwork Client 7.0.173.91015. And apply some registry settings to make the novell client to use the "tab-function" and hide advanced settings etc..
I have my eDir user "ADMIN1" with the policy package with settings to Dynamic Local User set to create a local user with name Admin, but im not using volatile user. So the local windows user Admin will be saved when logged out.
I login once with my Admin1 user, it creates the local profile Admin from Default User (with the help of Zenworks, and the policy Dynamic Local User?). I restart the computer and login again, and the local profile Admin craches and create a new one from Default User but this local user profile is namned Admin.Computername.
Ive tested this with atleast four other computers (different hardware) so it cant be a driver issue.
Ive looked thru the local logs, and i cant find anything about any problem with reading the NTUSER.DAT as could be a problem to load the local profile.
I even tested this senario when i update all windows updates etc, with two different version of the zenworks client and so on. ive been testning this for like 100 times now atleast. and same failure is happening. Ive even tested this in a virtual environment (vmware workstation).
    Senari 2:
Like the problem descried above, in some cases it loss the connection or something with the zenwork server side and the zenwork client on the client computer... Since it does not attempt to use the settings from Dynamic Local User, becuase i got the windows login window, and i have to login to an already existing windows local account (with otherwords i cant login to the Admin-profile since i dont know the login information to this account since its created by zenworks / dynamic local user settings, and from the settings there you cant set a password, just the name and role of the windows accout that should be created)..
And after a while i try again, and then the settings from Dynamic Local User passes by and log into the, (let me say) Zenworks created local user profile (set by Dynamic Local User settings).
I wanna mention that all computers thats old, no reinstallation.. I can login to without problem, without any crashes of the Windows Local Profile.
Ive succeded once without any Windows Local profile crash, rebooted this computer over and over again, and no failure. If you succed twice, it seems like its fine. But then i reinstalled this computer, just like i did to make it success. But this time it failed on the second try, and got a crashed profile....
Its kinda old hardware to the server where i have my Zenworks, could that be the case? Could it be some timeouts?
The concults i use to fix some problems in our environment updated zenworks from the serverside just before christmans.. Could it be any problems with some windows patch etc?
    Any help would be appreciated!

I only know of one XP SP3 issue that could cause this, but it involves a pw
    change and RP:
"When you try to log on to a Windows XP SP3-based computer by using a
roaming profile, the roaming profile cannot load."

  • Problem w/ WL 5.1 and SP3

This problem has popped up before in other posts, but I haven't yet seen
a resolution. Apologies in advance if I missed the answer somewhere
    along the way.
Anyway, I'm evaluating WebLogic. I'm particularly interested in the
beta EJB 2.0 support (I realize there's a separate newsgroup for that,
but this is an SP3 issue).
System config: NT 4.0 SP5, Sun Java 2 SDK 1.3
I have the server and service pack installed. To the best of my
knowledge, I followed the directions exactly. However, when running the
server on the command line, I get exceptions (see end of message for
stack trace). I can start the server from the menu. I figure the
error is caused by a difference between the environments of the command
line and menu item. I did attempt to make the relevant changes to both
(wlconfig output at end of message).
This wouldn't be that big of a deal except that the weblogic.ejbc
application throws the same exception when used, so I can't build and
install the 2.0 sample beans. I tried making the JAVA_CLASSPATH in
startWebLogic.cmd script match the CLASSPATH variable given by wlconfig,
but that ended up failing immediately (i.e. the only message from the
server is "server did not start up properly).
Anyway, if anyone out there can help me figure out how to get this up
    and running, I'd appreciate it.

I don't have the solution and I am having the same problem. Furthermore, I
get an exception saying "javai.dll" cannot be found, though the server boots
up fine after I click ok. Is this normal? There is no "javai.dll" anywhere
on my system. Also, the prompt displays "JIT not found, interpreter will be
used" or something like that. Is it because I have set JAVA_HOME to jdk1.3
instead (instead of the default jre under the WebLogic directory)? Any
    idea? Thanks in advance.
    I am using Windows 2000 Server, WebLogic 5.1 w/ SP3, EJB 2.0 beta 1, and Sun
    JDK 1.3.

  • 'BOXI3.1 SP3' select box limitations

    Hi All,
This is regarding character limitation in Universe Designer BOXI 3.1 SP3 for an object in the select box.
    Environment:
         BOXI3.1 SP3
    Issue:
We are hardcoding the list of values in @prompt function. If I check the number of characters in the select box, we are using around 2,58,552 characters. While in Business Objects, the number of characters accepted in the select box of the object are around 28000 (without space).
    Require help on:
. Are there any limitations with the number of characters that can be used in the select box of the object in Universe Designer?
. Is there any way we could modify the limitation?
    Thank you in advance!
    PS:
We cannot hardcode the list of values at the database level. In this case we will have to include the table at the universe level and incase this is combined with any other query it will result into cartesian product as there is no link with the values with any other object.

    Hi Dave,
    You got that right.
I am trying to use a table specifically for generating list of values.
    This will work fine, but...
I have created a object '<test>' and trying to use the following syntax in it:
    Case
    when @Prompt('1.Enter value','A','<Class\object name>',mono,free) ='List of value'
    THEN
    Case WHEN @Prompt('2.Level','N',{'1','2','3','4'},mono,free)='1'  THEN @Select(Class2\object2)
              WHEN @Prompt('2.Level','N',{'1','2','3','4'},mono,free)='2'  THEN @Select(Class2\object3)
              WHEN @Prompt('2.Level','N',{'1','2','3','4'},mono,free)='3' THEN @Select(Class2\object4)
              WHEN @Prompt('2.Level','N',{'1','2','3','4'},mono,free)='4' THEN @Select(Class2\object5)
    END )
    when @Prompt('1.Enter value','A','<Class\object name>',mono,free) ='List of value2'
    THEN
    Case WHEN @Prompt('2.Enter value2','N',{'1','2','3','4'},mono,free)='1'  THEN @Select(Class3\object2)
              WHEN @Prompt('2.Level','N',{'1','2','3','4'},mono,free)='2'  THEN @Select(Class3\object3)
              WHEN @Prompt('2.Level','N',{'1','2','3','4'},mono,free)='3' THEN @Select(Class3\object4)
              WHEN @Prompt('2.Level','N',{'1','2','3','4'},mono,free)='4' THEN @Select(Class3\object5)
    END)
    END
This continues for another 50 times for other 50 list of values which select other 50 classes.
Now, in this creates it creates a cartesian product when we try to display the list of value for this object '<test>'.
This list of values table cannot be linked to any other table.
    Hope this clarifies...

  • Lenovo N500 keyboard/ numbers instead of letters/with new keyboard installed/Resolved!!

I thought I would share my recent adventure with a 3000 N500 I have. The laptop was special ordered with Xp Pro on it. I uninstalled and installed Ubuntu, worked great. At some point my wife spilled some soda onto the page up and down keys, resutling in those keys not working. Recently I purchased her another latop and decided to reinstall Windows Xp Pro on the N500 for use with some camera software I have.
I decided to go ahead and order another keyboard from Amazon, for 21 bucks. I wiped the drive and used an OEM Xp Pro to reinstall windows. I was having some issues with sound and modem drivers and decided to go ahead and install SP3 on it to help out with the high def install of drivers. That worked great, but when I recieved the new keyboard Tuesday and install it, I noticed that some dual number letter keys were inputting numbers. I googled and was brought here where a number of posters stated several programs might be the cause. I searched and these programs WERE'NT installed on this, due to a clean install of OEM windows. This took me back to suare one, why. I'm very proficiant in PC's having built many custom machines and assisted others in repair. I decided to test the keyboard by using an flash drive with Linux on it. The keyboard worked like a champ, so that narrowed the issue to windows pr software inside it.
Booting back to windows I started thinking that possibly an update inside SP3. I removed SP3 and rebooted and the keyboard worked great, no errors. Sooo at this point, I installed SP2 to get more up to date on the system. Keyboard still works great at this point, but now the modem and the audio are complaining about driver packs. That was resoved with the install of the high def pack from Microsoft without installing SP3.
I'm posting this to let everyone know, there may be a possibility of an update in SP3 that may be causing keyboard errors. I haven't taken the time to narrow which update, since mine is now working fine, but be aware this conflict may exist.  This SP3 issue may be something that Lenovo needs to explore to head off issues as SP3 is forced onto users to get the high def update for audio.
The short story is, if you removed IDvault or GuardID and are still have issues, you might try removing SP3 thru add/remove programs. Reboot and see if the key board starts to funtion properly.
    >>BE AWARE!!<< removing SP3 may remove needed drivers causing devices to stop working. So good luck, hope this helps others.

I just did a clean install of WinXP SP2 on a 3000 N100 from the original restore CD. Everything appeared fine after installing SP3.
I went on to install several system drivers and support applications.
Then as soon as I installed the Lenovo Hotkey driver, I noticed some of the letter keys return digits , e.g. "R" > "6".
I tried uninstalling it using add/remove programs, but that didn't help.
An external USB keyboard works OK.
How can I back out of this problem?

  • IE8 on XP shuts down on first print of Crystal Report using ActiveX Viewer

    Environment:
    u2022 Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP3 FP 3.5
    u2022 Tomcat 5.5
    u2022 Windows Server 2003
    u2022 JDK Version: 1.6
    u2022 Internet Explorer 8 - compatibility mode
u2022 client machines Windows XP Professional SP3
    Issue:
The browser shuts down after last page is queued for printing upon installing ActiveX print control for the first time in all XP SP3 environments.  Issue does not occur when using Vista or Windows 7.  Subsequent printing works fine after ActiveX print control has been installed once.
    Steps Taken:
-"Enabled memory protection to help mitigate online attacks" option in IE and turned on DEP on OS - this is mandatory for company security policies.  Issue does not occur if this option is turned off.
-Not reproducible on my end under same environment
-PDF printing works, however this is not a feasible solution
-issue does not occur for IE6 and IE7 in XP, and IE8 on Windows 7
-disabling DEP via boot.ini also removes issue
-upgrading client workstation to Windows 7 also not a viable solution
-validated version of  \Business Objects\common\4.0\crystalreportviewers12 \ActiveXControls\PrintControl.dll on the BOE server as 12.3.1.684
-on client machines, added to Trusted Sites  the web site of report origin. Open internet explorer >Tools>Internet Options>Security Tab>Trusted Sites Security Zone >Click Sites> Add Site by typing the web site address---> Click Add -->OK then close the internet Options dialog box.
-not applicable solution, BO XI R2 - "Blank "Crystal Reports Viewer" window - attempt to print report

    Hi Seb,
It's already been validated that turning off DEP works. however, DEP is mandatory for this customer.
I did come across the release notes for IE8 at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/dd441788, indicating the following,
Turn off Data Execution Prevention group policy
The Group Policy setting, Turn off Data Execution Prevention (Windows Components | Internet Explorer | Security Features), does not currently function as expected. While the Internet Control Panel option will appear to be disabled, Data Execution Prevention is still turned on. This is a known problem and will be corrected it in a future update.
    Thanks,

  • I've got Lightroom 3.3.  Every time I try to import photos from my iPAD 2, Lightroom crashes. Fixes?

I can't import photos from my iPAD 2 into Lightroom.  Crashes every time.  Does anyone have a way to do this?

Apple iPad 2 requires Windows XP with Service Pack 3 (SP3), or an upgrade to Windows 7:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/13282479?messageID=13282479
XP SP3 update is available for free, more information here:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/help/learn-how-to-install-windows-xp-service-pa ck-3-sp3
Make sure you backup ALL your data files and LR catalog files, etc. The only problem I encountered with SP3 update was loss of my ATI graphics card TV tuner. Apparently SP3 loads newer versions of graphics drivers, which may not be compatible with all cards. Unfortunately there is no way to "test" if your desktop/laptop will be affected, and MS does not provide the option to only install certain components (i.e. Apple iPad 2 compatibility update). In my case, reinstallation of the original ATI CD graphics drivers fixed the TV tuner problem.
My best suggestion is to first check the manufacturer's support website for XP SP3 issues relating to your specific model desktop or laptop. The XP SP3 update is required by many new devices and software applications. If you intend to keep your current system and stay on XP, then it makes no sense to put off this major update. Upgrade to Windows 7 is an option, but many older systems have non-compatible hardware and software on them. You can run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to check compatibility here:

  • 694D Pro ATA-100 not seeing 120GB ??

    Hello all,
Got a 120GB WD "JB" drive today and hooked it up and found that the ATA100 controller doesn't recognise the drive at all. I will not attach the drive to the ATA66 'coz its pointlessly slow (well not really but i feel like its slow)... I have checked the Promise site and downloaded the latest drivers for the controller for when i do my rebuild, and i have also downloaded the latest BIOS version as well, but what i am unsure of is does the onboard chip use the same BIOS as the plig in PCI "Ultra100" card ?? i don't want to bork the BIOS on the chip on the mobo, but i assume that it is unable to recognise anything above say 80GB? I have an 80GB drive on there already working fine.
Any Help or experiences would be MUCH appreciated!
    Thanks for your time.

Yeh BIOS 1.9. I fiddled around with things and found that i had to remove the jumper from the drive totally to get it to work. I had it set to master and i also tried cable select. I got it going. I'm wondering if i should still update the controller bios as i've just done a fresh build of win2k and according to the notes on the Promise site it will require an OS rebuild once the controller bios is updated .... hmm ... the update gives the ability of 48 bit addressing (137GB+ drives) and fixes some SP3 issue with win2K, which i'm not sure what it is as i've just installed win2K sp3 and its running fine ... might leave it as is for now and see how it all goes.
Thanks very much for your reply.

Which service pack are you using? There was a bug in 510 which was causing only
              one
cookie to be set. This was fixed in SP3 (ISSUE 10680: If setting multiple
              cookies, only
the first one gets set). So the first one may happen to be the WebLogicSession
              cookie.
So if this is the case please upgrade to SP3. SP4 will be out any time from
              now.
