[BO XI 3.0] view document instances count is wrong

If a user does not have the "View document instances" right and there are schedules set up for a particular report to go to other users then the count showing in InfoView is not zero, it counts all the recurring and successful instances even though that user cannot see them!
I can't see this mentioned in fixed issues manuals for FP1, FP2 or FP3, and I can't find a fixed issues manual for BO XI 3.1
What we want to happen is when a report is scheduled back to default destination ( i.e. public folders ) then we give the users the "View document instances" right and then the instances count would alert them to click the "view latest instance" option rather than just double clicking as they used to do in V5.1.9, but given that it counts other users schedules as well then that does not seem to be much use to alert users
I know there is a global option to "open latest instance" but that fails because if there is not a latest instance then it does nothing when you double click
anybody got any ideas about this?

  • How to hide the view latest instance option for the reports in XIR3

    Created an access level and denied the rights "view document instances" and "view document instances that the user owns" in the access level.
    Applied this access level for a particular group on a particular folder.
    Login to Infoview and when view the history,there are no instances for a particular report under that folder.
    But we could still see the 'View Latest instance' option in the properties of the report and when click on it,we are able to view the report.
    As per the security assigned,the user should only be able to view the instances owned by him.
    Plz help me how to hide the option in INFOVIEW

    In 9.3.1 (not sure about 9.2) there is a table in your BIPlus repository which stores preferences/profile information, however, having a user simply log in to WA doesn't appear to automatically create a row for them in this table. (So this may not be a viable solution to your situation, I'm still looking for one myself.) This table stores lots of preference info such as whether or not to show the Main Menu, Toolbar, Masthead, etc. by default.
    To hide the View Pane, edit the data in the SHOW_INFO_PANEL column, change it from a 1 to a 0 and for that user the View Pane will not longer appear by default.
    HYA_USER_PREFS
    But again, this only works if you already see the user in the table otherwise I guess maybe they have to 'touch' their Preference before it creates an entry in that table. Haven't figured that part out yet, and Support didn't have any information.
    If anyone has found a way to maneuver through the table structures I'd love to hear any insight you can offer.
    Before you make any changes to the data in this table be sure to take adequate repository backups, and use caution as usual.
    I'm going to create a Shared Preference and have each user point to it the first time they log in - but then you lose the ability for each user to have their own personal folder as their default, so it's still not the ideal solution. Really wish there was a way for Admins to set certain prefs. A coworker reminded me under 7.? or 6.x things like View Pane were system-level settings which was easy to control, but now it's at the user level.
    Good luck,
    Karen

  • Getting document instance from NSPersistentDocument?

    I'm still fairly new to Objective C and programming in general, so if my question is inane please forgive me.
    Here is what I'm stuck on. I'm currently working on an Cocoa desktop app that uses NSPersistentDocument. I currently have a view controller that manages a modal window. I would like to save to the ManagedObjectContext in one of that view controller's methods. According to Apple's documentation on Core Data"
    "The context is in effect also your gateway to the rest of the Core Data infrastructure. As such, it is expected that you either keep a reference to the context, or you have a means of easily retrieving it—for example, if you are developing a document-based application that uses NSPersistentDocument, you can use the document class’s managedObjectContext method."
    and elsewhere
    "Where a managed object context comes from is entirely application-dependent. In a Cocoa document-based application using NSPersistentDocument, the persistent document typically creates the context, and gives you access to it through the managedObjectContext method."
    and finally
    "Getting a Managed Object Context
    In OS X:
    In an single-coordinator applications, you can get the application’s context directly from the application delegate.
    In document-based applications, you can get the context directly from the document instance."
    I think I'm missing the bigger picture here. My questions is... what is the document instance and how do I access it from other classes? This method in my modal view controller:
    " - (IBAction)saveContext:id)sender {
    if ([tagsArray count] != 0) {
        int objectcount;
        for (objectcount = 0; objectcount < [tagsArray count]; objectcount ++){
            Tag *singleTag = (Tag *) [NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:@"Tag" inManagedObjectContext:self.managedObjectContext];
            singleTag.tagname = [tagsArray objectAtIndex:objectcount];
            singleTag.video = selectedFile;
            NSLog(@"Tagnames %@",singleTag.tagname);
    [NSApp stopModalWithCode:NSOKButton];
    [self.window close];
    Gives me a "No known class method for selector 'managedObjectContext' compiler warning. Actually any method I try to call on the Document class gives the same warning. Something tells me the document instance is NOT called by "Document" because it's talking about a class method, but I have no clue what I should put in it's place. FWIW making an additional managedObjectContext in the view controller does not work as NSPersistentDocument does not allow more than one. I tried declaring "document" as a property in the view controller like this:
    @property (strong) Document *docController;
    But that's creating a new instance of the Document class rather than referencing the pre-existing one. The context is not getting saved because it's deallocated as soon as the window is closed. Obviously I'm thinking about this the wrong way. There isn't much info out there on core-data & document based apps. Can someone help me with this? I've been stuck on this for quite a while now and am desparate for help.
    Thanks.

    hi,
    i think, that's not possible in that way you expect it.
    the only idea, i have, is to use the jvmpi interface.
    if you write your own profiler using jvmpi, your java program
    will reach a c or c++ dll-function JVM_OnLoad().
    There you have an instance of the java vm.
    but still you are a thread of the vm.
    How to pass it to a diffrent process ?
    maybe via a variable which is shared by the dll with
    another process.

    Which path / folder that is stored ".PDF" documents that are generated in Oracle R12 - Purchase Order.
    When I run the following steps in Purchase Order: Inquire> Document View.
    A document in PDF format is displayed. I need to know which way the Oracle writes this file to the server.
    I need to delete it from the base.
    I customizei this document (PO_STANDARD_XSLFO).
    To my customization to take effect. I need to delete the document that has been exhibited for my cutomização take effect.
    Otherwise I would have versioning the document, but can not do it.

    If you have XML publisher on your instance, then the pdf document generated by PO Summary->Inquire-View Document is generated by XML publisher. The PO pdf is generated based on the formating instructions provided in an xml (stored as xsl and the tags used are xsl and fo). Check the templates in XML Publisher administrator responsibility. This can be one way of modifying the report, but you might have to do some reading for modifying the xml.

  • "View Latest Instance" as Default in BOE XI 4.0

    Dear all,
    I am using a BO BI Platform 4.0 to deploy Crystal Reports in my organization. These reports are scheduled daily, users are viewing these reports via the BI Launch Pad.
    Now I want to protect my users from the need to click first on the document and then on the "View Latest Instance" as this would most likely be asking to much of them. So - I would like to make the "View Latest Instance" the default behavior when users click on a document.
    I read a couple of forums and it seems up to XI3.1 this was possible. However, is seems that the feature is gone with BIP4.0.
    Or is there still a method to achive what I want?
    Thanks & best reagrds
    Wolfgang

    HI Wolfgang - not sure it's possible. You'd probably have to leverage an alternate scheduling 'destination', i.e. if for instance you schedule to a users Inbox, then they should see the latest instance in their inbox - no right-clicking required to open that. Possibly impractical if separate instance is created for each user - though I'd hope this wouldn't be the case if the report contents are the same for everyone.
    Cheers, Ferdie.

    Do you have antiVirus installed on the sharepoint servers?
    These folders may have to be excluded from antivirus scanning when you use file-level antivirus software in SharePoint. If these folders are not excluded, you may see unexpected behavior. For example, you may receive "access denied" error messages when files
    are uploaded.
    Please follow this KB and exclude the folders from Scanning.

  • How to view running instance in OSB like we can see in BPEL process

    Hi,
    If someone does call the proxy service twice , How can I see the running instance of particular proxy service ? Like we can view BPEL instance in Enterprise Manager 11g and debug the problem.
    Thanks

    OSB is a stateless and hence you cannot view running instances in OSB.
    You can use Log, Report and Alert actions to debug your code. Each one has their specific usage. Please refer http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/userguide/modelingmessageflow.html#wp1080496
    You can also use OSB Monitoring to capture the number of messages that were handled by OSB proxy/business service and specific details of how many successful and errored out. Please refer http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/operations/monitoring.html
    Hope this helps.

    I am unable to view documents posted in SAP.
    Steps that i folllow:
    1) I enter the tcode fbl1n.
    2) Fill  the details and execute
    3) Click on the document number
    4) Click on Environment -> Additional Assigment->Object Link
    After it displays error message You are not authorized to use transaction SDV
    I was able to view documents till yesterday.
    I have IXOS client installed on my system.
    Kindly let me know your valuable suggestions
    Regards,
    Yasmin

    I pressume that this is not authorization issue.
    Try check this..
    Does the parameter for you is same like your teammate? (Transaction SU3)
    To access the IXOS is there any custom table maintained to enter authentic user ID. Likely to chek with ABAPer.
    In order to reset your user buffer go to SU56 and from the menu you will have option to rest the buffer. Alternatively you can get Security guys to do it in SU01(depends on table entry)/PFCG/PFUD...

    Hi Sweety,
    What happens if you login as the Enterprise Adminstrator account,  do you get the option to View Latest Instance?
    - What do you mean exactly when you say you cannot view the latest instance?
    - Are you missing the option/context menu or is the incorrect report displaying?
    I would suggest working with your Enterprise Administrator to ensure you have sufficient rights to View the latest instances.  However,  if you're not able to select the option check out this SAP Note:

    Hi ,
    Is their any way of clearing " My recently viewed Documents" in SAP BO 4.0 for specific user or list of users .
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Archana,
    I think you need to use a Cross Tab on your report but also you will need to apply Sections on the Fund Code dimension.
    ie
    Section 1 - ABC1
    Crosstab
    Section 2 - ABC2
    Crosstab
    Section 3 - ABC3
    Crosstab

  • Logo on a Standard Purchase Order Stylesheet      Inquire -- View Document

    Hi
    I did add "LOGO" to Standard Purchase Order Stylesheet and customized required fields.but, something weird thing is happening.
    After changing the Setup to "Customized_Template" which is the new custom template in Document Types->Document type layout , I created new Purchase Order and when i opened document from Inquire -->View Document I see the PDF with the changes as implemented in custom template but i don't see the Log , the strange case is that when i copy this PO Tools-->Copy Document i will get a new PO here when i open the Inquire -->View Document i get the LOGO on the PDF document.
    Not sure why LOGO is not appearing for new purchase orders created, could you let me know how i can troubleshoot this?
    thanks
    praveen

    1. You don't create a new data definition. You create a new template and assign the seeded data definition to it. (XML Publisher Administrator).
    2. On our version of the EBS there is a parameter on the PO Output for Communication concurrent request which lets you specify the template to use. However for the normal day to day use you need to do the setup in Purchasing:
    Setup / Organizations / Purchasing Options / Control TAB / set 'PO Output Format' = 'PDF'
    setup / purchasing / document types / select "Standard Purchase Order" / Set the Document Type Layout to your new template.
    For the white paper on this see metalink doc id 387670.1 - Incidentally, when checking this I note that appendix C tells you how to change the logo in the XSL-FO template so that may give you a shortcut to your new PO Template. I haven't tried it though!

    What if an article uses a creative layout with multiple text-boxes? Are you supposed to get out your pocket calculator and add them up one-by-one?
    I work for a magazine that publishes short, submission-style testimonials bridged together with staff-generated narrative copy; some of our articles use six or more discreet text-boxes. You REALLY MEAN TO TELL ME that there is NO WAY to yield a TOTAL DOCUMENT WORD COUNT using what is SUPPOSED TO BE the MOST ADVANCED page layout application ON EARTH??
    Pardon my exasperation in the above comment, but....Seriously?
    I need someone knowledgeable to please look me in the eyes and tell me, "This is true", before I am going to be able to let myself believe it.
    Thank you.

    Yes, there are ways, just not what you expected.
    One approach to counting words in multiple text frames in InDesign is to thread them together. To maintain the pieces of text in their assigned threaded text frames, you can create a paragraph style that starts in the next frame, and assign it to the first paragraph in each text frame. Or, you can break the threads when the count is stable.
    If the text frames need to adjust their size to the amount of their content, search Google for terms like "indesign auto resize text frame" without quotes for details.
    There was a recent discussion about auto-resizing text frames that mentioned the free AutoFit InDesign plug-in, from typefi.com. Search Google for terms like "indesign typefi autofit" for details.
    Search Google for terms like "threading and unthreading InDesign text frames" without quotes, for details.
    Search Google for terms like "indesign start paragraph in next frame" without quotes, for details.

  • SharePoint Online IE 11 Unable to View Document Library

    I have a user that is using Windows 7 and IE 11. Whenever they open any sharepoint site, they are unable to view documents. They see the webpart title, but nothing underneath. I know this happens with the "Links" list as well as document libraries.
    Newsfeeds work fine.
    I have tried compatibility view, deleting cache, cookies, history, restoring advanced settings, and resetting the browser. None of these things work. I know it is not a permissions issue because I am able to log in as the user and I am able to see everything.
    Any ideas?

    There's conflicting ideas on this.  WebDAV handles explorer views on the server side.  SharePoint used to (don't know if it still does) have it's own built in version of that.  But when it's asking for username/password, that sounds to me
    like an ISS authentication issue, or a permissions issue.  Since you probably own it, I doubt permissions is the problem.

  • Reader XI - View documents in PDF/A mode - document links not disabled

    I am using Adobe Reader XI and I have the option PDF/A View Mode set as;
    View documents in PDF/A mode: Only for PDF/A documents
    My colleague has the same set up
    We both see the message when opening the same pdf that the 'the file claims compliance with the PDF/A standard...'
    When I open this PDF/A document the hyperlinks within the document still work for me
    When my colleague opens the exact same document the links are all disabled - they are legible and you can hover to see the link, but the links will not work.
    I believe that the PDF/A standard is being correctly applied to my colleague with the PDF/A view mode set as it is... but not for me.
    Are there further PDF/A settings for viewing such content that could impact whether any links will work? Anything that could override the Reader preferences?
    With thanks

    Thanks for answering this one - so we would expect that Reader set to "View documents in PDF/A mode: Only for PDF/A documents" should not disable the links... so the question would then get flipped so that why does someone who has such a setting find that they cannot use the links?
    is there any further setting in Reader which might use that setting but apply it to PDF/A-2, PDF/A-3 instead? I'm not sure I can see linking to external source mentioned in any PDF/A spec - although there is if the PDF tries to use data from a different (non PDF/A) source within the doc...
    If there is no such setting within Reader then I'll haver to look at any other tech surrounding what is happening when a user opens a PDF/A... anything which could change how links are handled... been a bit of a fruitless task so far but if I find anything I'll note it here...
