BO XIR 3.1 Edge- Problem installing Fix Pack 1.1

I am trying to install Fix Pack 1.1 for XIR3.1 Edge.
The BO installation is installed on c:\businessobjects
When asked for Server Instance and Service Name:
SERVER INSTANCE = Server name
SERVICE NAME = defaults to TomCat55
However, I get this error. Where am I going wrong?
Application server instance not detected in directory '$/conf/Catalina'.

Hi Joe,
try localhost as server name.

corrupt files notice when in process of installing the fix pack 3.1?

When you download the file, there will be a file size shown. When you have downloaded the file, check the file size. If they're not identical, then the file isn't downloaded properly.
If your downloads keep finishing prematurely, try using the SAP download manager.
If you download is complete (the file size is right) please post back with the version.

Each of the two security updates for Yosemite required a restart once the update had been installed.  Did you in fact perform these restarts?
If you are in doubt, go to About This Mac (under the Apple logo in the Menu Bar).  Then choose System Report > Software Installations [requires scrolling way down on the leftmost column] > [look for security updates to be logged there]

  • No PowerPoint or PDF after installing Fix Pack 2 for Xcelsius Present 2008

Have installed Fix Pack 2 for Xcelsius Present 2008
Seemed like big improvement - smoother and no crashes.
    But -
Exported to PowerPoint, closed everything down. Opened PowerPoint file and nothing.
Exported to PDF - said that I should upgrade to new Flash program. Installed Flash 10. - Opened PDF file and nothing.
    Please help

    Hi Bruce,
Try exporting to .SWF and seeing if you can run that without a problem.
Then try importing that .SWF into PowerPoint to see if you can set that up without a problem.
From there we can see if it is an Xcelsius issue or another PC issue.
    Thanks,
    Brian

  • XI3.1: How to install Fix Packs and Service Packages

    Hi there,
    I'm a Business Objects newbie
I'm searching a guide which explains me, how to install Fix Packs and Service Packages for XI 3.1.  And I've one more question: Where can I see the current Service Package in the System?
    Best regards,
    Andreas

    Hi,
You can refer the Install guide from the below URL for the installation of FP's or SP's for BOE.
http://help.sap.com/  ---> go to the Business Objects section and select the FP or SP install guide which you want to install.

  • Installing Fix Pack for Business Objects EDGE XI R3

    Hi,
Has anyone had any experience installing the Business Objects EDGE XI R3 fixpack?
I'm curious as to how to install it and what changes it will make.  I tried quickly searching the SAP support site and did not find much.
I want to find out as much as possible before installing this in a LIVE system.
We are using RHEL with tomcat and mysql for our system.
    Thanks in advance,
    Dave

    Hi,
you can find the "fixed issues" and "whats new" documents at the download of the FP. Just click the "Info" link and you will be pointed to the Documents.
You only need to install a FP if this solves an actual Bug you are facing with.
The only installation Problem i often face is the deployment of the Web Applications of the Fix Pack. Somethimes i have to re- deploy all the war Files using wdeploy.
So if you have a custom Web Application deployed on  your BOE Tomcat or customized the BOE Application make a Backup before.

    -Seb.

  • How To Install Fix Pack 3 For Xcelsius Present

After downloading Fix Pack 3 for Xcelsius Present and preparing to install, the wizard asks me to uninstall the software.  A co-worker with the same version (including build number) downloaded and installed the same Fix Pack without being asked to uninstall the software.   Why does the install require an uninstall of the original software?
Is there some place to find the key as I have misplaced it?

    Installation files:
    http://service.sap.com/patches
Browse our Download Catalog -> SAP BusinessObjects portfolio-> SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform (SBOP Enterprise)-> BOBJ ENTERPRISE XI 3.1
For the installation guide take a look at SAP note 1487252 (http://service.sap.com/notes)

  • Edge 3.1 Fix Packs

There are are number of bugs in Edge 3.1 that are identical to bugs in Enterprise 3.1 that were fixed in FP releases 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3.
However, in the SAP downloads area under Edge 3.0 there are no Fix Packs available.  Does this mean that the Fix Packs for Enterprise are to be used for Edge, or that there is just a lack of support for Edge?

I'm not 100% but I believe Edge fixpacks have been pushed back to september 09 and Edge can't use enterprise FP's. I think this is a temporary issue and a more standard release schedule will come after but I'm not sure. As soon as I find out more I will post it.

  • Problem installing Service pack 1 for Windows Vista 32-bit from windows update

I have been trying to install Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista Home (32 bits) through Windows Update many times. The Update panel shows Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (KB936330) is available. I install the update, which by the way, just takes me few minutes curiouslly. The "update succesfully installed" message with the green circle checked on appears. But then, when I check my computer properties, the Service Pack 1 is not there and Windows Updated keeps showing again and again the update for Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (KB936330) is available and that needs to be installed. I don't know what else to do, can you help me please.

    Hi:
Try downloading and installing the standalone SP1 file.
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30
If you get it to install that way, go straight to SP2 with the standalone download.

  • Problem instaling fix for Microsoft teredo tunneling adapter

In Devices and Printers, the desktop icon shows an exclamation point.  I ran troubleshooting and was informed that I need Microsoft teredo tunneling adapter.  I have no idea what that is.  The Troubleshooter tried to install it but was unsuccessful.
As far as I can tell, my computer operates OK, although I have had some issues with using Skype.
I read that the Zone Alarm firewall may interfere with the installation or operation of the teredo adapter.  I no longer have Zone Alarm.

    1. You would do better to describe your system in a bit more detailed. What you are trying to achieve. The missing teredo is only a consequece of something that we, readers , do not know.
    2. For Zone Alarm you are advice to place an question in Zone Alarm forum and/or support
    http://www.zonealarm.com/security/en-us/company/community.htm
I would try to do all you need in test environment with firewall disabled.
    3. For new items in Windows 2008 R2, read the book that is available for free on MS download:

  • Problem installing language pack manually under Linux

I had downloaded Asian language pack to be install under Ubuntu Linux. When ran the installer script using sudo I been prompted to enter the path where Adobe Reader was installed.
The problem seems to accept path name that have the word "acroread" only as the default option was under /opt path. My installation was under /usr/lib32/Acrobat/Reader8/bin and the installer script does not recognize that.
    Help needed here. Thanks

    Hi,
If you used the standard installation for reader, the path should have been /usr/lib32/Adobe/Reader8/bin and not /usr/lib32/Acrobat/Reader8/bin. Could you confirm how you performed the installation?
The solution is to uninstall and re-install the reader using the standard location. We highly recommend that you install under /opt if it's a system-wide installation. Installing under /usr/lib32 seems strange given that the reader consists of more than just libraries.
If that's not possible, you can fix it by tweaking the INSTALL script that is part of the language pack installer. Change line 198:
    from:
    198 if [ ! -d "$dir/Adobe/Reader8/Reader" -o ! -d "$dir/Adobe/Reader8/Resource" ]
    to:
    198 if [ ! -d "$dir/Acrobat/Reader8/Reader" -o ! -d "$dir/Acrobat/Reader8/Resource" ]
and specify /usr/lib32 as the path of installation when prompted.
Let us know how you progress.

  • Problem Installing Enterprise Pack for Eclipse

I am having a problem during the installation with it asking for a Proxy Server and Port Number. In the task bar it says "Connection Failed". The previous screen had asked me if I wanted to register for security updates which I said I did and filled in my email address and password. I am using Norton 360 for my security and disabled the firewall completely but still got same problem. I am not behind a proxy so I'm not sure what may be causing this problem. If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it. I am using the .exe installer. Thanks so much.

    Bob,
At what point do you get prompted for the proxy details? if I'm not mistaken, that is while WLS server is getting installed and it ask you if you want to keep up to date with patches, if so, I believe you can skip this step.

  • Problem Installing Service Pack 4

    Have I done something stupid?
I followed the seemingly simple steps documented in the readme file. I
copied the weblogic510sp4.jar and weblogic510sp4boot.jar files into my
weblogic/lib directory. I then updated the JavaClasspath and
WebLogicClassPath in my batch file (I launch WebLogic from a batch file).
    Everything seems to work fine.
However, when I run java weblogic.Admin t3://localhost:80 VERSION
    I get:
    WebLogic Build: 5.1.0 04/03/2000 17:13:23 #66825
The documentation says I should get:
    WebLogic Build: 5.1.0 Service Pack 4 ...
It appears that the service pack is not installed. Have I don't anything
wrong? When I start the server, I see the appropriate classpaths in the
log - so I know that the path update is being seen.
I have attached a copy of my startWebLogic batch file. Thanks in advance
    for any help.

The service pack jars need to be first in their respective classpaths.

  • Trouble installing fix pack 3

    Hello,
I was able to get the service pack onto my computer and the folders are available when I click on the folder with the executable file I continue to click on a number of folders (package, langs, de, setup). When I get there and try to run it I get an error message saying:
An error occured while parsing installer setup file and then gives the file path it also then says OR the file could not be located.
Am i storing the file in the wrong place?

Don't think you have to put the Fixpack files any place special.  Are you sure you have the Fixpack for the Xcelsius version you have installed on your PC? There are a few different Xcelsius offerings and the Fixpack must be from the corrresponding flavor.
