Body of email is missing - only headers showing

HELP!!
Every email in my inbox has the following message...
"The message from [email protected] concerning “Re: subject” has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it."
All the other folders with mail can be read.
I'm using POP, mail was upgraded from panther a few weeks ago and currently using Tiger.
Here's what happened.
We edited our [email protected] email account to a new email address [email protected] Everything worked great for a couple days, but found that there were a few messages still on the old server. So tonight I created a new POP account with the same settings that I used to have on [email protected], downloaded 3 files, and then deleted the second temp account ([email protected]).
As soon as that was done - all the files in the inbox showed the above error. Were these emails somehow linked to the old POP address? & how can I get them back??
I currently have 856 messages in my Inbox that are useless! Do I need to call in the pro's with a data deletion repair utility?

ICal icon in the dock partially missing, only number shows

Hi there, my dad was messing around with iCal today, trying to drag it somewhere else, and I think he broke the icon for it.
The paper, rings, and red bar in the iCal icon won't show up. The only thing that shows up is the number 11 and the word Nov, which are today's date.
I found an icon file called "App-empty.icns" inside iCal's resources folder (when you right-click "show package contents") that looks like just the paper without the numbers. It seems like this icon is the "behind" part of the iCal icon, meaning the paper and rings, and the numbers are the "in front" part of the icon, but only the "in front" part is showing up, if that makes any sense.
I've tried dragging it out onto the desktop then opening iCal, but that didn't work. Computer restart didn't work either. When you launch iCal, the icon snaps back into shape like it's supposed to look, but when you quit iCal, it goes back to its ghost mode where it only shows the number and the month, sans the paper.
Any help would be lovely, thanks.

I have a client who has a partially missing iCal icon on the dock. it appears to have just the number of the month in black and nothing else!
also when you open the iCal app, the icon then turns 'normal'. But another issue is that
all the current month's appointments are missing until you move the calendar one month ahead,
and then back again to the current month. Then, mysteriously, all the appointments re-appear in
the current month.

Making email/text/missed call symbols show when the iphone screen is asleep

Hi,
So I purchased my first ever iphone on the weekend - the new 3G S. All very exciting. One thing I haven't quite worked out is whether it is possible to have the phone show me that I have mail/text/missed calls when the screen is asleep. Is this possible?
With Nokias and Sony Ericsson's when the screen is asleep and blacked out, you can still see a pic of an envelope etc to let you know there is something waiting for you like a text. Is this possible with the iphone and if so how?
Alternatively if there is an app that will do this, could you let me know what that is called so I can download it please?

This is not possible with the current iPhone and version 3.0 software. There are no apps available either that will wake the iPhone up and activate the screen to provide you information. Hopefully this'll come in some furure software update.

Missing Body in email

Random instances of mail showing up in my iphone with header and subject lines only. Body of message says "message has not been downloaded from server". When I check same message on my MacBook Pro all the text and or attachments show up. At first thought is was a PDF issue, but some PDF's show and some don't. Has anyone else had this problem.

That has happened to me to. It happens to me in my POP accounts when I download the email to my iPhone, and then later I download the email from my desktop PC and remove from the server. The iPhone apparently expects to see the email on the server to show it to you. It confuses me because POP is POP, so the email should have downloaded and be residing on the iPhone, but there appears to be some optimization or space saving routine that doesn't keep the whole message.

Eric, thanks for the info about the pictures, it worked. The mail icon is not the one that came with the mac(it looks like a stamp with an eagle) this appears at a notepad with a ruler,paintbrush and pencil. I can not open it, I did not download it and now I can not turn off the computer with shutdown I have to manually turn if off by pressing the power button. This can not be normal. This is not something on your end. If they send an iMessage it will arrive as an iMessage, if the send an email it will arrive as an email.
THey are sepearate services that cannot be mixed up.
Tell them to send you an email, rather than an iMessage.
If they are using the messages App it will always arrive as a Message.

Overnight, text body of emails will not display for messages in inbox-only the from and to and a subject line displays. Draft messages in Ipad display fully. Inbox emials display fully on my main Dell computer and my Iphone. Any ideas? Duanekot

See if this helps .... Reset the iPad.
Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider bar - let go of the buttons and let the iPad start up. Then check your emails.

You can right click or command-click on the image in the email and select "view as icon".
You can change the default behavior of Mail.app so that it always shows the attachment as the icon:
open a Terminal window (Applications > Utilities > Terminal)
at the prompt, type in this (it must be exact, or copy and paste it in if you have trouble typing things precisely):
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool yes
Then hit return.
To revert to the previous default (where the attachment is visible in-line), you just enter the same command with "no" instead of "yes" at the end.
In either case, however, how the viewer of the email sees the attachment (either as an icon or in-line) depends on how their email client is set up, not on how you send it.

I have two yahoo accounts and I know as they 'improved' their servers I had periodic outages. It'd work fine on my webmail on my computer, webmail on the iPad, but not via the mail app. And it was stuff on their end. It may be a case of wait and see and you may need to eventually remove/readd the account on your iPhone.
When the issue is on their end, unfortunately there's not much for users to do beyond wait it out or find work arounds.

On your iPad, just go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, etc.>Add account>iCloud and put in the details of the account you set up. Shouldn't be a problem at all.

For some reason I now can not see the body of emails. It does show when I attempt tp reply to the email. What has happened?

Or quit the app completely. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Thanks John for the suggestion. I was finally able to dwonload the newest drivers today when I signed on. Seems like if you let one day go by Software Update will look at your version of the driver and will finally let you download the newest. That did not help. Nothing but communication errors. It would not even let me load the the new driver as it would no longer ever see the printer.
Yesterday, for further explanation, I was working at the computer when I heard the printer chime a few times. When I looked over the green light, which normally signals it is receiving a file to print, was flashing away. I was doing nothing and I finally had to turn it off. I spoke with another techie friend who is a big Mac user and has the same printer and he suggested it may be the USB circuit. This printer has been on for 5 years with a few days off. We have concluded the circuits are past their useful life and I will soon send the printer to be recycled somewhere. A new printer is on the way as I need this device.
Again, thank you for your suggestion and I will mark this solved due to mechanical failure.

I use gmail for my email. Some of the emails I receive do not show the graphic or photo. I can see the graphic/photo in Internet Explorer and when I hit reply in Firefox. This started happening about 5 months ago. I used to be able to see the emails with no problem... I have checked all options and do have display images turned on. This happens with every email from a yahoo group and some other emails as well. I have the latest version of Firefox. I tried uninstallng and reinstalling firefox... no change.

Check the image exceptions: Tools > Options > Content: Load Images: Exceptions - See [[Options window - Content panel]]
A way to see which images are blocked is to click the favicon (''Site Identification'' icon) on the left side of the location bar and click the "More Information" button.
This will open the Security tab of the ''Page Info'' window (also accessible via Tools > Page Info).
Go to the ''Media'' tab of that Page Info window.
Select the first image and scroll down though the list with the Down arrow.
If an image is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box ''Block Images from...'' then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

I resend some emails regularly with only slight changes to the email so I usually do a "reply all" or "forward" . Recently I cannot see the text in the body of the emails using FireFox, however I can see the complete email when using FireFox mobile or Internet Explorer. Any ideas what is causing the problem and how to fix it? I have tried to copy and paste the text into a new email but that didn't work.
I am using Windows 7 SP1 Home Premium and FireFox 37.0.1
Any help would be appreciated.

I uninstalled Adobe reader, then did the rest of your suggestions but the problem remains. It is only with 3 emails that get resent daily with slight changes to the text. It is like most of the text has been removed from the email.
