BOE dashboard

Hi,
One of my user is facing the following problem
When BO Iview template is used to create a portal link to a BOE dashboard,if the id in the iview is changed to display a different BOE dashboard,the iview displays a blank Window.
Any help would be appreciated

I am using the Dashboard ID
This is the workflow that I am following.
I have installed BOE iview templates.
I have created a new iView using BOE iView master template and then I have configured using existing dashboard object id,it works fine.
When I change the id to another BOE dashboard object id I face the problem.
Is this a known issue?
Please advise.

Is it possible to render BPC content (Xcelsius dashboard or basic BPC web functionality) in BOE Dashboard builder, thus combining in a single dashboard the ability to write-back with reporting done on BPC cubes as well as other content.

我想通过dashboard URL button 链接到一个CR，用了openDocument 功能， link 如下：

显示为500 error, 问题出在参数 token=entSession ，不加的话可以正常打开，但是要输入用户名。 entSession 是我从openDoucment.jsp 文件中找到的变量，但是应该不能这样用，

BOE XI3.1, CR 和 Dashboard 都是上传到BOE上通过InfoView 打开的，现在的问题是登录BOE后， dashboard 可以正常打开，但是当通过dashboard中的link 打开CR 的时候要求输入用户名密码。
已经看过请教使用 openDocument 的 URL 报表处理但是情况好像不同，没办法把 URL 写死z在openDocument.jsp 中。
希望大虾们帮忙，有什么解决方法呢？谢谢先~

结合你之前提出的新窗口打开的问题，以及这个登录问题，如下：
1. 在Xcelsius中给URL Button设置u201C本窗口打开u201D
2. 在opendoc url中去掉isApplication=true，保留sWindow=true
3. 将swf导出至BOE，并保证opendoc的url中的机器名和BOE的机器名相同
4. 用opendoc或者infoview打开这个swf, 则可实现单个新窗口打开opendoc并且不需要另外登录
该方法存在的限制：点击URL Button后，swf会重新load

The short answer is not yet. In the past, this type of information was internal to engineers and development however, it would definitely be useful for customers to have some basic information on what these functions do in order to better understand what they are looking at inside Wily Investigator. I will be looking into the possibility of documenting this and will let you know.
To directly answer your question, at a high level the answerPrompts() function calls other functions which are responsible for generating the prompt, capturing the response from the user, generating the SQL, and fetching data. After this point, the process flow moves into the report engine in order to finish rendering the report.

Dashboard & Analytics on BOE XI Professional on Linux

Hi experts,
I have boe xi 3.1 sp4 enterprise professional installed on linux.
Now I bought the Performance Manager and Dashboard Builder license key.
I have created an empty schema for the performance manager repository.
On linux server, In the installation folder, there is the folder "Dashboard_Analytics_120".
What do I have to do to startup EMP & Dashboard?
What do I have to do to initialize Peformance Manager repository?

BOE XI 3.1 Performance Manager/Dashboard Manager - Import Customer Calendar

I am trying to load a custom calendar in Performance Manager through the interface using the Import Calendar. I have followed the format correctly and loaded the CSV file onto BOE. When i try and load the calendar it keeps giving me error message and doesn't load. The error message is irrelevant to me i just need to know has anyone managed to load a calendar through the import calendar from BOE i.e. InfoView (Portal) successfully?
Also there is no separate topic on the Performance Manager on this forum so had to post in general.
Any comments would be appreciated.

Opening the dashboard(XLF) file from BOE repository is locking of my SAP USER ID(SBOP) again again .....Urgently need solution. Don't know what the damn thing happening with me.

Since from 15 days I am working on one Dashboard with BEX query, now I have completed that I am able to run that till yesterday. But today my SAP USER ID expired(every 15 days it expires). I have updated same password in all places(CMC OLAP, UNV,IDT) and tried to open the same XLF (which was running fine till yesterday ) after opening that if I tried to edit query or tried to add query or clicked on preview....all ending with locking of my SAP USER ID(SBOP) ..............Don't know what the damn thing happening please seng if you know any solution.
Experts need help to solve this issue urgently .........:)

We have faced same scenario,this is happening due to SAP User ID password change.
Stop all the BO work and change the password of SAP everywhere used.Any single point will lock it again.
Try this.This has worked for us.

Open a webi report from a Dashboard components

Hi All,
I have created a dashboard using Dashboards 4.0.It has a bar chart,line chart,combination chart.all these chart on X-Axis have month names as dimensions and y - axis shows different measures.
So now the requirement is the user wants to select any month from any one of the chart at one particular point of time.then the dashboard should open a Detailed Webi report( created in BI Launch pad) for the selected month and display that month data in a new window.
I know that we have to use the URL button in Dashboards for linking a webi document.
However i would like to know how to pass the selected month from the dashboard by selecting a particular month from any of the graph component as a parameter to the respective Webi report in BI Launch pad.
Hence any body how to implement this in Dashboards please let me know the step by step process.

Hi Kishore,
Month name should be prompt for the Detail Webi Report, so when u clicked on bar its going to carry that Month as Well. And Syntax for adding Month will be like below.
Suppose if it is Sample Open Doc:
/BOE/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sIDType=CUID&iDocID=Fq0JoFNoywYADK0AAADHRQkAABVdEABC
So u have to use this Syntax for Month
lsSMonth=+ Map the Cell where month is capturing. (Note:In lsSMonth Month is next of Prompt for month in Detailed Report.
And final URL will be
"/BOE/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?mistype=CUID&iDocID=Fq0JoFNoywYADK0AAADHRQkAABVdEABC&lsSMonth=+Selected Month"
(Open Doc) (Sending (Selected Month) Month)
And For trigger the URL button you have keep trigger URL when Month Value changes(Based on Selection), means you have map trigger cell to destination of Bar chart Month Destination.

Run a Crystal Report published on BW from SAP NetWeaver Portal without BOE

Hi all,
We need to create a report using Crystal Reports, save it to BW, publish it to SAP NetWeaver Portal, and run it from SAP NetWeaver Portal. We do not want to use BOE here.
Currently, we are able to save the report on BW.
With Xcelsius, we have seen that we can directly refer to the dashboard's technical name from SAP NetWeaver Portal. Is similar thing possible using Crystal Reports? If yes, how this can be achieved?

Disable login prompt for SAP NW based Xcelsius Dashboard

Hi all,
Need assistance to understand what needs to be done in the below case:
Current scenario:
1. Developed Xcelsius Dashboard based on SAP NW Connectivity on BO XI 3.1 SP2+.
2. Configured trust between SAP BW server and BO Server using steps outlined in integration kit(login/accept_sso2_ticket, etc).
Imported user roles in BOE and enabled SAP authentication.
After this, WEBI Reports based on Bex queries refresh in Infoview without prompting for Login id/Password.
3. Configured SAP Server to enable portal/interop switch to display the Xcelsius Dashboard within Infoview which is the existing BI portal. Used Hyperlink object for enabling the link.
In the hyperlink, I am using the same link which gets generated when I use the option Xcelsius 2008>>file menu>>SAP>>Launch
Issue: On click of Hyperlink, I get SAP EP Login window. Once I fill up the SAP user id and password, the dashboard comes up
Server Configuration:All on same domain
SAP system ID=X(SAP BW server)
SAP system id=Y(SAP EP Portal)
BOBJ system Z(BOBJ Server)
User roles stored in X. Entitlement system defined in Z for SAP BW Server X.
Dashboard is not available in SAP EP Portal in any folder as of now. Have not created any roles yet.
As per the various posts and KB articles,
Do I need to enable SNC for both X and Y? or trust between Infoview and SAP EP portal can be enabled without enabling SNC?
Just like SAP BW server, does the SAP EP portal also has *.cert files that can be used to exchange with BO Server to enable trust.

Thanks for your explanation. I was referring the configuration mentioned in the wiki article for displaying Xcelsius Dashboard in Infoview where this was explained as a possibility. Even though its not Lean.

The only difference in my case is the use of SAP Authentication instead of Enterprise.
Thus as per your last update the following workflow is only valid:
1. User logins to Infoview using SAP Authentication.
2. User clicks on Xcelsius Dashboard Hyperlink object.
3. SAP Enterprise Portal login pops up within the Infoview Workspace.
4. User has to fill in the Login credentials again.
5. Dashboard load up successfully.
Please correct me in case I am wrong.

Save as PDF or Excel from BOE

Is it possible to save an Xcelsius chart that has been exported to BOE and is in a dashboard to a pdf or Excel file? This is a popular feature for Webi reports, but it seems to be unavailable for Xcelsius/SWF documents.
We can print using the Print button in Xcelsius 2008, but we don't have Acrobat Professional installed so printing to a PDF is not an option.
Does anyone know a workaround that does not involve purchasing additional software?
Does anyone know when SAP will include this feature in Xcelsius?

it's possible to export the data to Excel but it's difficult to say the least. please see the link below for 3 options depending on your particular situation.

BOE XI 3.0 to BOE XI 3.1

I have a BOE XI 3.0 installed on my server. I have developed some live reports of WebI, Crystal Report and Dashboard.
Now we have one new server. I want to install BOE XI 3.1 SP2 on that server. And i want my all these reports on that server.
How can i use these reports of XI 3.0 to XI 3.1?

Inserting dashboards into a single master SWF

Hello experts,
I have an issue in merging dashboards into a single SWF file. Currently i have seven dashboards exported to BOE as SWF/flash files . All are working fine in BOE. Now i need to emmbed all of them in a single swf file. How could i do it.
Current procedure which i am following: I structured OPENDOUCMENT URL for all those seven dashboards in BOE. next, i designed a dashboard with seven slides with label based menu. each of that seven slides are mapped to respective open document URL. might i am wrong . please any one tyhrow some some light in my case.

We are XI 3.1. We use the download document and url and include the CELogonToken when linking to child swfs, e..g
/Xcelsius/opendoc/documentDownload?sIDType=CUID&iDocID=AU_zADSPisZFqkKz6eCzKAY&sKind=Flash&CELogonToken=&Mode=INFOVIEW&BusinessArea=
In the example above, BusinessArea is a variable and is used to pass a value from the parent swf to the child swf.
You need to exercise some care in this swf within swf approach, e.g. if you have QaaWs running in to think about when you want the queries in teh child swf to be triggered, e.g. everytime you go to the child, or only if the user has selected a new value to be passed.
Personally, I think this type of multi-dashboard deliverable is better handled by pulling the multiple Xcelsius dashboards together inside a portal tool, or if you are at XI 3.1, use the Dashboard Builder functionality to pull all the Xclesius together. I hadn't thought about pulling them together using ppt, but that sounds like an option too.
SAP's Brad Welch did a webinar in June or July 2009 showing Dashboard Builder to pull together Xcelsius, WebI, web pages, pictures, together. Might be worth a look

I hadn't seen much about the repositioning of the Dashboard Builder tool as something to use to pull together Xcelsius and other content, but in reviewing content from the 2009 Bus Obj User Conference, I saw it mentioned in at least 4 different presenations, some from SAP folks, and feel better about developing with it more.

Problem while opening xcelsius dashboard in Infoview

I created an Xcelsius dashboard which contains 3 tabs and in each tab i placed different components. Everything works fine.
I exported it to BO platform and while opening it in Infoview it looks very small. Not even in visible size.
My Qn is how should I enlarge it to view it properly???

Hi Vasu,
Open the xcelsius file and in designer, please click on Fit Canvas to Components which will be available 2 buttons next to Data Manager icon. Once this is done, all your components will be fit in the canvas. You can always click on "+" button next to Data Manager icon, to maximize the canvas size. Once this is done, save the XLF and then export to BOE. Hope this helps you.
