BOE license model (NUL v/s CPU)

All,
I would like to know if anyone here has a good handle on how BOE licensing works. We are in touch with the BO Account Rep, but also wanted to check here if anyone knew.
We are in the process of converting our existing NUL to CPU-based. Anyone who is a customer with CPU-based license model or SAP folks, can you please confirm if the following points that I understand are true --
a) Web Servers are not counted towards BOE licenses.
b) The calculation of CPUs for multi (dual/quad) core machines is done as: 1 CPU license counted for 1st
CPU, 0.5 CPU license counted for every subsequent CPU on a server.
Thanks!

question A: is true, it does not count
question B: not sure

  • Golden gate Licensing model

    Hi,
We  are planing to replciate the data using Golden Gate  for that  we need help in understanding the licensing model of Golden gate.
Licensing model  required for below setup
1 Production server with  2*6 cpus  and standby  having 1*6 cpus.  target  server 1*6 CPU . Planing install GG in standby server
    My questions are:
    1) Should  I buy License for production DB   or it enough if i get the license for the standby ( Where we going to implement  GG )
GG License =PROD DB +TARGET DB
    OR
GG License = STANDBY DB + TARGET DB
    2)  Is there any  model .Please let us know.
    Regards
    Murali.

    Murali,
As a general rule, you license both the source system (where the source database resides) and the target system (where the target database resides). But for all licensing questions, you need to work with your Oracle Sales rep for GoldenGate. Do you know who that is - do you need help determining who to contact to help you with your question?
    Best regards,
    Marie

  • BO Licensing Model

    Hi,
Regarding Business Objects licences we currently have the BI starter pack in place.. This gives us licences for 80 regular users and 20 expert users. We are considering moving to the next level in the licensing model to allow us to accommodate up to 500 users. The licences in this model are based on the number of CPUu2019s used and the jump in price is quite dramatic.
Please explain who understands the current SAP business objects licensing model. If we were to virtualise the CPU would it reduce the number of CPU licences we would need to buy?
    Please help..
    Regards,
    Sudip Saha

Could you pls share the answer for this.

  • License model of OATS

can anyone tell me the license model and its cost of OATS

    Hello
You can start from here : http://www.oracle.com/us/corporate/pricing/price-lists/index.html
ATS is made of 3 separated commercial products:
Test Manager : pricing based on NUP (identified people using OTM)
Functional Testing: pricing based on NUP (identified people using OFT) + if needed Application accelerators (for EBS/SBL/ADF etc)
Load Testing: pricing based on CPU of the controler + NUP (max number of virtual users you want to run a load test)
    Hope it clarifies things.
    Cheers
    JB

  • Questions about Adobe AIR and FLV license model

I'm currently looking for a game development framework which I can use for a fan-project in my spare time and also for commercial projects for the company I'm working for.
I think that the Citrus Engine which is open source and based on Apache Flex/Adobe AIR/Starling/Away3D/Box2d/Nate might be a good choice.
But I'm really confused about the license model of Adobe AIR and its runtime distribution.
Do I have to pay a license fee or royalties for my games (which include the AIR runtime in order to be stand-alone-apps) when I publish them?
If so, how much are these license fees/royalties?
Does this also concern free apps?
What is the name of the license which I would have to request from Adobe in order to publish my games?
Do I need several licenses when publishing an app on multiple AppStores (Apple/Google/Amzaon) or desktop distribution platforms (Steam/GOG)?
Are there further licensing obstacles which I have to keep in mind when using Flex/AIR for (commercial) game development?
By the way - the FAQ on the product page (http://www.adobe.com/products/air/faq.html) isn't really helping on this topic:
"How much does Adobe AIR cost?" -> "The Adobe AIR runtime and AIR SDK are free for most users."
This answer leaves me with the question: Am I belonging to the "most users" or not?
Therefore it isn't meaningful at all.
I'm also thinking about adding short video sequences as FLVs to the games.
If I understood correctly H.264 and MP3 are currently used as a standard for these video files but aren't free.
Is there a free alternative available for FLVs which can be used in combination with Adobe AIR?
Or did I get something wrong here and don't need to worry about getting sued when using these formats?
Thank you in advance for answering my numerous questions.

    That's true.
I'm using a Dell Studio 1537 with 3GB of RAM and Intel Core 2 Duo and it's quick in Lr

  • License Model for Siebel CDI

    Hello Team,
I have a question regarding the license model for a Siebel project of the following functionality:
    1.- Opportunity Management
    2.- CDI
    My question is:
If I quote the Siebel Sales Base Functionality, Do I need to quote also the Customer Hub (B2B) or Is that functionality already included in the Siebel Sales Base Functionality?
I know that I have to quote also the Data Steward and Data Quality.
    Many thanks AF

Alex, I hope i dont steal the thunder of thread you started.
    Experts,
I want to add to Alex's question , Is it also possible that CHARM can be a common setup for a set of small/mid sized companies provisioned by a central  Service provider based Solman and use authorization concepts and BP based restrictions to allow creation of RFCs / CDs only for the systems they are allowed to?
Would be the future cloud model?
    Thx

  • What will the BEA Workshop 10.1 license model be?

From the Workshop Webcast (and serverside thread http://www.theserverside.com/news/thread.tss?thread_id=45208 ) I see that BEA will merge Workshop studio with WebLogic Workshop. What will the license model be for this (e.g. If I want to use Workshop 10.1 for a Struts Web Project will I need a Workshop Studio for Struts license, about $400, for this?)

The license model is simple: Workshop for WebLogic 10.1 will be free for weblogic customers, and the Workshop Studio 10.1 will have a license fee. The only difference between the two is that the Studio product will run on multiple server platforms (eg. websphere, jBoss, Tomcat, etc.)

    Hello,

We are planning to deploy the OES 2 (OES2 SP3 + Suse Linux Enterprise

Please let us know the Licensing model for OES2?
Can we use the existing novell license(unlimited) for OES 2 or A separate

You sould probably contact Novell sales or a partner to get the correct information regarding licensing.

  • OATS 9.2 Licensing Model

    Hi,
We are about to use OATS tool for load testing various Oracle based applications. I would like to know how licensing can be procurred for the same.
Can anybody please share details on the following informations:
    1. Temporary license period and availability of number of users
    2. Licensing model available for procuring permanent license.
I would appreciate if i could get early respose.
    Regards,
    Mahesh

    Hi Mahesh
The licensing model is the same for both term license and permanent license; you pay X for the controller and X per virtual user. what X means you can find out by contacting Oracle:
    http://www.oracle.com/us/corporate/contact/global-070511.html
Or looking at the list price:

  • Licensing Model!

    Hi,
I would like to know he current licensing model of PI 7.3 and PI 7.3.1. Is there any difference between those.
Assuming my client has already got 7.1, do they need to buy 7.3 fresh or just need to upgrade it.
    Regards
    Krish

    Hi Krish,
As far as I know, SAP's general policy is that you never pay for an upgrade. Every customer that pays the license fee is allowed to perform upgrades with no additional fee.
    Hope this helps,
    Grzegorz

  • CRM license model

    Hi Expert,
Couple month, My customer has purchased 2 CRM licenses, in License Administration it shows
"CRM Service User (Standalone) = 2 licenses and CRM Sales User (Standalone) = 2 licenses".
We assigned both CRM Sales User and CRM Service User to the same person.
    B1 Info = V2007A SP00 PL47
The two users have full authorization but they can open only report, couldn't do any transaction. Anyone is facing the same problem?
Today, we requested 2 CRM licenses to test but in License Administration shows only CRM Service User (Standalone) = 2 license.
According to CRM license model we should have both "CRM Service User and CRM Sales User" but we only have CRM Service User. Any reasons behide it?
    Thank you in advance

    Hi,
It is a little bit confused when going though your posting.  How many licenses have you requested so far?
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • Licensing model and costs

    Hi,
What is the licensing model going to be for Kodo? Will it be
developer based, runtime based, or what? What are the costs expected to
    be.

Will either Edition include InstantDB, and if so, will it be only for
development, or will it include a distribution license?
    Neelan Choksi wrote:
    David & folks,
Kodo JDO Standard Edition will be available under a per-seat developer
license. The cost will be $600 per seat. This license will not permit
the distribution of the developer class files. A runtime set of class
files must be licensed as well. This license (the runtime license) will
cost nothing, but we need to license it to prevent people from
essentially reselling our JDO implementation for, say, $599.
People interested in creating developer tools that rely in some way on
Kodo JDO should contact us for partnership / OEM possibilities.
The licensing structure for Kodo JDO Enterprise Edition is not quite
    hammered out yet.
Additionally, a one-year email support and upgrade contract will be
available for both the Standard and Enterprise editions. The cost per
year per license purchased will be $500 for the Standard Edition.
Again, the pricing has not been determined for the Enterprise Edition.
Finally, we will offer an introductory pricing discount of 50% off the
Standard Edition license fee ($299) to you, our patient, diligent, and
    much-appreciated beta testers.

  • Simplified DPS License Model

Hello, every body Please, anyone knows how about the apps produced with Professional account already, with the new Adobe DPS business model. I have some apps and I would like to know if I can update and publish new folios for them "Effective December 1, 2014 Adobe is simplifying DPS licensing with the removal of download fulfillments and moving to a per app license model. The new license will have a fixed price per app fee for the term of the agreement regardless of fulfillment usage. As part of this improvement, we are removing the download counter and disabling the fulfillment warning expiration messaging. No services or features will be affected by the new pricing model. All customer agreements will remain in place. For additional information, please contact your Adobe representative or reseller near the end of the term of your agreement. Customers who entered into a multi-year agreement and agreed to purchase download fulfillment bundles each year are still obligated to purchase those bundles at the price and schedule specified in the agreement. If customers exceed their current fulfillment bundle agreement going forward, they will not need to purchase additional fulfillments. Please feel free to reach out to us anytime to discuss this new pricing model. We wish you tremendous success in 2015 as we continue to innovate on the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite. -The DPS Team" Regards
