BOE XI3.1 SP2 clustering

BOE-XI 3.1 SP2
Cluster with Two (2) physical servers (Win 2008) hosting all services.
Tomcat is installed on both physical servers.
We have cluster named as @boprd and all the web.xml files have been adjusted as per install guide. (Noticed that the registry doesn't get automatically updated after updating the SIA with cluster name boprd, we manually edited).
CMS clustering seems to be working fine, we tested by stoping SIA on one node. But if you stop tomcat also, it doesn't.
Anywhere the cluster name with IP need to defined?!
We would like our end user to connect to InfoView or anyother client tools using the clustername instead of physical server name.
Don't want the end-users of InfoView to see/know the underlying server names (eg. boe1 and boe2) in the URL for the CMC / InfoView - or in the CMS
Name on the login screens for those applications.
For Example: http://boe1:8080/CmcApp/logon.faces
http://boe2:8080/InfoViewApp/logon.jsp
Any suggestions to achieve this would really be appreciated.

You cannot use the Bobj cluster name to access the web applications for a couple of reasons: the syntax is illegal (ignoring username/password embedding) and your DNS server doesn't know anything about a Bobj cluster.
The preferred approach is to implement a software or hardware load balancer, cluster (or just load balance) your Tomcat instances and assign it a domain name of your choosing (e.g. boprod.company.com). Once in place, your users would go to http://boprod.company.com/InfoViewApp/logon.jsp and do not have to be exposed to the encapsulated server names. You also get high availability (and possibly fail over) for "free".

Hi, i just wonder now BO has launch BOE XI3.0 and it has new features.
If i purchase BO Edge Series (formerly BOCD) now, is it come with XIR3.0 engine? such as in BOE XI3.0, it has "changes track" feature in WebI, is it feature come with in the new purchase of Edge series?
And can BO Edge series integrate with Crystal Report 2008 and XCelsius 2008?

Also, Once I install the BOBJ XI 3.1 Enterprise Server , I still need to install the following Client Tools separately :
XCelcius 2008,
Crystal Reports, Voyager,
Live Office 2008
If you are using the XI 3.1 server (either Edge or Enterprise) you have to download and install XCelcius 2008 V1, Crystal Reports 2008 V1 and Live Office XI 3.1
If you are using XI 3.0 (either Edge or Enterprise) you have to download and install XCelcius 2008 V0, Crystal Reports 2008 V0 and Live Office XI 3.0
Voyager is web-based and comes with the BO server installation. No need to download anything for this one.

I'm looking for the "Security Requirements Template" document, a template that can be used to setup a content plan in BOE XI3.1.
It is an Excel document, that shows by application the possible rights.

我想通过dashboard URL button 链接到一个CR，用了openDocument 功能， link 如下：

显示为500 error, 问题出在参数 token=entSession ，不加的话可以正常打开，但是要输入用户名。 entSession 是我从openDoucment.jsp 文件中找到的变量，但是应该不能这样用，

BOE XI3.1, CR 和 Dashboard 都是上传到BOE上通过InfoView 打开的，现在的问题是登录BOE后， dashboard 可以正常打开，但是当通过dashboard中的link 打开CR 的时候要求输入用户名密码。
已经看过请教使用 openDocument 的 URL 报表处理但是情况好像不同，没办法把 URL 写死z在openDocument.jsp 中。
希望大虾们帮忙，有什么解决方法呢？谢谢先~

结合你之前提出的新窗口打开的问题，以及这个登录问题，如下：
1. 在Xcelsius中给URL Button设置u201C本窗口打开u201D
2. 在opendoc url中去掉isApplication=true，保留sWindow=true
3. 将swf导出至BOE，并保证opendoc的url中的机器名和BOE的机器名相同
4. 用opendoc或者infoview打开这个swf, 则可实现单个新窗口打开opendoc并且不需要另外登录
该方法存在的限制：点击URL Button后，swf会重新load

Does anyone know that where I can find a document to specify the MDX syntax that can be used for BOE XI3.0 and SAP BI7?
I found a related topic on:

But after go through the above thread, the feeling is that we can only get the answer by testing each of the syntax.
Could anyone share any ideas to this topic?

BW OLAP Universe connection error after applying BOE XI3.1 SP2

Hi,
We installed BOE XI 3.1 SP2 today on the server, and since then we are not able to execute the WebI reports built on top of BW OLAP universe. The error message is - An error occurred while trying to load the provider for transport sap. Failed to load library mda_sap. System error message.
The same error message appears when I test the universe connection.
Has anyone come across this issue? Your help is really apprecaited.
Our system config is Windows 2003 server, 64 bit, SP2.

Hi Ingo,
Yes, applying SP2 solved the problem. We reaslized that SAP GUI 710 is prerequiste to run the SP2 setup file.

Error 18452 "Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication" on SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition 64-bit SP2 clustered instance

I have a Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise x64 SP2 cluster which has 2 SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition x64 SP2
instances.
A domain account "Domain\Login" is administrator on both physcial nodes and "sysadmin" on both SQL Server instances.
Currently both instances are running on same node.
While logging on to SQL Server instance 2 thru "Domain\Login" using "IP2,port2", I get error 18452 "Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication". This happened in the past
as well but issue resolved post insatllation of SQL Server 2008R2 SP2. This has re-occurred now. But it connects using 'SQLVirtual2\Instance2' without issue.
Same login with same rights is able to access Instance 1 on both 'SQLVirtual1\Instance1' and "IP1,port1" without any issue.
Please help resolve the issue.

I Confirm that I encountred the same problem when the first domain controller was dow !!
During a restarting of the first domain controller, i tried to failover my SQL Server instance to a second node, after that I will be able to authenticate SQL Server Login but Windows Login returns Error 18452 !
When the firts DC restart finishied restarting every thing was Ok !
The Question here : Why the cluster instance does'nt used the second DC ???

How to change path for FileStore in BOE XI3.0?

Hi, i am using BOE XI 3.0. I have try to re-point the file store from C drive to D drive because the size in C drive is getting increasing.
C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\FileStore Point to D:\FileStore
1) I have copy all the files (input and output) inside FileStore from C drive to D:\FileStores
2) In CMC--> Server --> InputFileRepository & OutputFileRepository, at the File Store Directory, change from
%DefaultInputFRSDir% to D:\FileStore\Input
%DefaultOutputFRSDir% to D:\FileStore\Output
3) Restart Tomcat and all servers/services.
Then we encounter 2 problem:
1) I can open the web intelligence using universe but i just cannot save it in the repository, it give me error
Could not save the document to the repository for the following reason:[repo_proxy 30].......
2) I am able to import universe but cannot export, there is an error..
Is the way to re-point the filestore directory correct? Or i still have any other thing to set in CMC?

Hi,
Make sure the service running the Input and Output file Servers has sufficient permissions to write to this share. In version 3.x this would be the user the SIA runs under.

Missing jar - BOE XI3.1 SP3 IG Kit for PeopleSoft with client comp option

Hi Team,
I have successfully installed BOE XI 3.1 SP3 in our Linux m/c and while installing Integration Kit for PeopleSoft in Windows m/c selected with Client Computer option the Kit shown the message unable to find pscafinstall.jar from BusinessObjects_Home\Common\Java\Lib directory.
Could you please advise why this error happening, how to resolve this and the impact of this error?

Try doing a complete install, and make sure you're running the install on all the necessary machines. There is content to be installed on your CMS as well as your application server at least. Is this all on a single box? Are you sure the name of the jar you're specifying is correct? There is a partnercafinstall.jar and a cafinstall.jar that the installer will install.

PDF in WebIntelligence can't be modified with Adobe Acrobat (BOE XI3.1Sp3)

I have a BOE the XI 3.1 Sp3 in a Windows2003 Server with Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.0 installed.
Documents WebIntelligence exported to PDF cannot be modified by Adobe Acrobat.
The same installation but with BOE XI R2, the same document WebIntelligence exported to PDF, can be modified by Adobe Acrobat.
Any idea?

然后我把dashboard 发布到BOE XI 3.1 上，用InfoView 打开。
1. Dashboard 显示正常
2. 点击button, 新窗口打开，在地址栏里显示上面设定的URL，但是奇怪的是，Crystal Report (iDocID=5454 是已经在server上的CrystalReport) 并不在这个新开的窗口显示，而是又打开一个窗口来显示， title 是： Crystal Reports 查看器。
不知道问题出在哪里，请教大家有没有解决方案，急！谢谢先~

If I understood well BO will take advantage of nodes/hierarchies defined within dimension tables only if the data resides on either a BW database or a OLAP (aggregated ) tables. If my data source (star schema or 3rd normal) is at the lowest atomic level then I have to manually defined the hierarchy via the hierarchy panel of the designer. BO designer can't take advantage of what has been already defined in a dimension table.
