Bogging down during saving and printing.
I own a 17 inch MacBook Pro, and overall, am very pleased. However, the machine bogs down (to ridiculously slow speeds) any time I try to save or print from any application. Does anyone know why this is or what can be done to remedy the problem?
That's not a lot. So, what I'd do is install a utility like MenuMeters…
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/17713
… so that you can watch your processor and drive usage while saving and printing. if processor usage goes excessively high you should try to identify the actual process that is utilising processor time in Activity Monitor.

Major problem saving and printing documents on two computers
This is a bizarre problem that seems to have been transferred from my old MDD to my new Mini when I migrated all my old data and it has me baffled. My apologies if this explanation seems long and complicated but I want to be pretty thorough.
About a month ago I started experiencing a problem with printing. I noticed when printing a sheet of business cards that the page was getting compressed, for lack of a better word, vertically. This was very noticeable because the trim marks on the side of the page were not lining up with the perforations and each row of cards was getting progressively closer to the top as each row was printed. In other words, the first row of cards was okay but then the next row was a little too far "north", the next row a little more, the next row a little more, etc. The bottom of the page was not cut off, it was just squeezed up a bit but not enough that you could tell that the proportions were off. Now I see that many of my documents are like that no matter what application I've use to create them – Pages, Illustrator, Avery DesignPro. What's even worse, I've used Pages to create a sheet of business cards for a friend and Illustrator to make packaging labels and she's having the same problem printing the PDFs of the labels on a different computer. What this seems to tell me is that something has been corrupted and the computer is saving messed up files.
So, about ten days ago I got a Mini and migrated my data using Migration Assistant. And the problem has now been transferred to the Mini. So I now have two Macs connected to two different HP printers that are both incapable of printing (and apparently saving) documents in the proper proportions.
Now, a truly weird thing is that I printed a test sheet of business cards from the Mini on the printer connected to the MDD (via printer sharing) and it appeared that the document printed at the correct length. However, another document, a sheet of labels created in Illustrator, printed at the right length but one edge was slightly cropped off. Grrr.
Anyway, as I said, until about a month ago everything worked fine so something got messed up at that time to cause this problem with saving and printing documents. I need to get this resolved for business reasons – I'm an aspiring designer – but the only thing I can think of doing is wiping out my Mini and reloading everything except my account settings from Time Machine unless someone has advice on what to do. Help! (And yes, I've checked to see that page scaling was always set at 100%.)Well, I've just about had it. I erased the disk, reinstalled the OS, Adobe CS4, and iWork. I did not use Migration Assistant this time to restore my settings but still my Mac prints documents in the wrong dimensions. Could this be a sudden HP problem? It seems to me some system setting somewhere is making my computer save and print documents in the wrong size. I now have a computer that is almost useless for designing. Lucky me.

Is reinstalling Photoshop CS6 still OK? My #1 machine is bogging down in Bridge, and I would like to replace the old klunker on #2
Larryt48503521 you are welcome to install Photoshop CS6 on a new computer. You can find details regarding the activation process at Activation & deactivation help - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-deactivation-products.html.

Anyone know how to save documents and print them on Epson Stylus 600FW? I´ve got the Epson iprint App but I can`t find the documents. I can print photos, that means he finds the printer but no documents
You need an app to handle the documents. Documents to go, Pages or another one. files are associated with apps so if you don't have an app to handle the file, the iPad doesn't deal with it.
If you want to experiment, find a free document reader app, open your documents (most apps either have a file transfer protocol or you can e-mail the files to yourself then open them in that app) and see if you can send them to the printer. -
Saving and printing edited projects
Hi,
I purchased Aperture 3 and am new to this software. I have worked on several pictures and got them to the place that I wanted them & have no way to save them. I have tried sending them elsewhere & to my email but the original picture is all that shows up. I know the settings are saved in the adjustments, but I want to save the actual picture and be able to print it or send it. Please help!I have clicked on Export & then version. It posts the original. I have the edited one in front of me, but can't print it, can't email it, can't post it on facebook. I have tried to relocate it somewhere else, but no success. I am really disappointed. I downloaded this from the mac store. It was installed automatically. I have tried to go into preferences to see if there is any settings I can change, but I am stumped. It is pointless to have at this point. You put all this work into making a beautiful photo and can do nothing with it except look at it in the actual program.
Any thing that could help would be so appreciated! -
I reset to out-of-the-box my Windows 7 PC, after it was slowed down then froze by a virus that required payment to "repair" hundreds of issues, including slowing and freezing.
I re-installed Acrobat Pro 9,
After re-installation of back-up files, from a clean back-up, I can open PDF files, but I get error messages that I cannot save the files because they cannot be read.
Also, I get an error message that the file can not be printed.
I tried the repair feature under "Help." I tried to "Save as," opening the file from an external drive, then try to print or save with the same results.
I am considering uninstalling and re-installing Acrobat 9, and hope that would solve the problem, but would I have a similar problem?
Any help would be welcomed.Hello hpinla,
You might need to refer the KB doc link to get better understanding of Acrobat 9 compatibility with Windows 7:
System requirements | Acrobat family of products - Older Versions (XI, X, 9)
Support policy | Acrobat 9 | Windows x64
Could you please let me know what exact dot version of Acrobat 9 are you using.
You might check for updates under the Help menu to use the latest patch of Acrobat 9 i.e. 9.5.5
Let me know.

Acrobat quits during saving and then the file and comments are lost
I'm working in acrobat pro x on a 300page pdf. I am commenting on pages throughout the pdf using stickies. I try to save the file. half way through the save process acrobat unexpectedly quits. when i reopen it says it has recovered the lost file - i click on it and am told that the file cannot be opened and it is lost. This happend yesterday also so about 4 hours work down the drain! is there any way around this? thanks for any suggestions. If I can't comment safely on the pdf then the wrole reviewing/commenting process becomes unusable...
As you have seen, documents with high page counts and large file sizes can become unstable. Adding several hundred comments to such a document further contributes to the problem. It's a great feature that everyone loves, but it's not omnipotent, as you have seen! To avoid this, I always recommend regular exporting of comments to an .fdf file, and always PRIOR to regular saves. That way, if your files does crash for some reason, the comments can easily be re-imported. It's also advisable to have a backup, pre-annotation version of your document, as a matter of course.
Other issues to be aware of are file size, CPU usage and, most importantly, available memory. These are usually the culprits in situations like the one you described, although they provide no advance warning. In fact, the warning is usually when the file becomes unstable and behaves exactly as you described. Although your machine may meet the minimum systems requirements to run Acrobat X, when you get into this type of workflow, there is much more at play than most users initially realize. I wish there was better information available to warn users in advance about these these situations, but I did address these issues extensively in my book, "The PDF Litigation Guide."
Hope that helps!

Captivate 4- saving and printing help
I'm totally new to Captivate 4 and really appreciate if anyone can enlighten me here!
1. How can I save the answers (text entry, etc) if I run it on .exe and learning at self paced level?
2. How can I print the screen/slide when i run on .exe?
3. Is there any way I can display the progress level?
Thanks
Chilli1. Well you cant.. At least not out of the box. If you were publishing to SWF (and using a webserver) you could create some Flash coding and server-side scripting to save it in a database but I don't think that will be possible with an EXE file.
2. Have you tried using the print slides widget? Here is some information - http://forums.adobe.com/message/1937085#1937085
3. You can use the system varibles in Captivate 4 to display progress. Insert "Page $$cpInfoCurrentSlide$$ of $$rdinfoSlideCount$$" in a text caption to make it show "Page 1 of 15". You can set the text box to display for rest of project.

Texts Saving and Printing? What app to use?
Does anyone know what app will allow you to save texts on to a computer?
I don't know what app you can use, but you can take "screen shots" of all your text messages...which will put the pictures of the texts on your camera roll and then you can import the pictures to your computer. Just an option. I had to do that when I was dealing with a stalker that was sending me crazy text messages, so I could give to the police. I was able to print out my "screen shots".

Saving and printing file with try-out Pages
I have created a newsletter and after spending lots of time on it, I realized that I cannot save nor print. I have not purchased Pages nor iwork, so my guess is that this is why I have restrictions. How can I purchase the product online and not loose the work I have done?
gem,
Welcome to Apple discussions.
Here's a guess: since Pages gives you the opportunity to test out all of its features for 30 days (after which it becomes merely a "reader"), I'm thinking you must have launched it longer ago than 30 days. If that's the case, you absolutely can't save your document in Pages. It's possible that you can copy and paste everything over to Word -- if you have it -- save it, then after you buy Pages, open the file in Pages. That's the best I can offer.

Problem saving and printing pdf files.
Operating System Windows 7. Adobe Reader Version XI. Online and local files. Browser XI. Adobe sends ERROR message on ALL pdf files. Adobe seems to recognize all pdf files as "coded incorrectly," and sent by email, when the majority haven't been sent by email. It will not save the pdf as a pdf, but saves it as "All Files," instead.
How are you downloading these files? Also, what exactly means "an error message"?

TOUR bogged down, running sluggish and slow
My Tour is acting very sluggish and slow. If it were my computer I would say it's having a memory issue. I've considered restoring to factory settings and restoring backup. Any feelings on how this might work? How much work will it be to get BB back up to speed, i.e Apps and such...etc
Try this. Clear the cache.
Hold ALT key and type l g l g
Then hold the bb key. Select clear cache.
This clears the cache. Should help perk it up. My torch was having a time being slow.
Although my torch was really slow because I was using a cheap memory card. I only use sandisk and kingston
for now. -

Save map as image and print it out
Hello everybody,
I have some problems with saving map as image and also printing it out. I am using mapview.getMapAsXML("GIF_URL") to get XML request but I don't really know how to send this request to OMServer and retrieve response as image!
About map printing. I am following Oracle example to print map ("http://starbucks.infotech.com.tr/mapviewer/fsmc/tutorial/samples/mapPrint.html"), but get such error: "Request string is too long for Oracle Maps' non-AJAX remoting.".
Could you please help with map saving and printing?
Thank you in advance.I've solved this problem using following way:
1. Get the map XML request:
h6. xml_request = mapview.getMapAsXML("GIF_URL");
2. Send this request to the OMServer using AJAX:
h6. ...
h6. nocache = Math.random();
h6. var params = 'xml_request=' + xml_request + '&nocache = ' + nocache;
h6. http_request.open ( 'post', 'http://solaris:7001/mapviewer/omserver', true );
h6. ...
3. Process the response:
h6. ...
h6. response = http_request.responseText;
h6. url = response.substring ( response.indexOf ( '<map_content url="' )+18 );
h6. url = url.substring ( 0, url.indexOf ( '"' ) );
h6. ...
So, you have url of you image in GIF format. Now you can print it out or save to disk...
Maybe it is not correct way but it works fine!
