Bogus "Apple" email

Hello,
I've received the following e-mail from "Apple" three times now:
[From] Apple
[To] Undisclosed recipients:;
[Title] RE:
[Reply-To:] sergioantonion @ manager . in . th
[I inserted the spaces]
"You've won 850,000 Euro from APPLE INC.  visit iprize . net63 . net / home . html and login your Username: win1 and Apple Key: 349021 to claim your prize."
[I inserted the spaces between the dots and slashes]
The "Apple: from line reveals "[email protected]"
The Undisclosed recipients:; line reveals "undisclosed recipients"
Clearly this is bogus, but what is worrying is that it's come into my main e-mail account name, which I protect by just using e-mail aliases.
When I delete these e-mails they don't stay in my trash, but disapear.
Other than changing my e-mail account name, does anyone have any idea how to prevent this?

John,
Thanks, I appreciate what you say, but my worry was (as I said in my original query) that this came addressed to my .mac/.me account name NOT an alias.
I guess my main point is that I paid for the Apple e-mail account, and wanted to be safe hiding behind it.   Too, I understand the never-ending problem with spam, and although it's inconvenient I can change an alias, but as this came in at the top end, so to speak, I wanted to see whether there's anything I should or could do.   Looks unlikely.
In answer to Csound1, I should've said in my original post that, of course, I didn't reply to these e-mails - all three have been deleted.
I've got a non-networked MacBook Pro, and am sorely tempted to create a throw-away e-mail address and send this idiot 15 copies of a dictionary or the bible, but then I'm setting myself up to the same sort of anger and frustration that I feel now.   So, not a bad idea, then!

  • Has anyone else received bogus-looking emails purporting to be "bills" from iTunes?

Has anyone else received bogus-looking emails that are supposed to be "bills" or bill notices from iTunes?  If so, is there anywhere to forward them for Apple to investigate?  Thanks!

Has it been verified with Apple?  Because I just called Apple care, and the technician I spoke to knew nothing about it.  He said he thought it was a scam and recommended I post it here.
    Confused, anyone?  Lol.

  • Now that iCloud has done away with galleries, how can we share as I did with MobileMe? How can we sync non-Apple email accounts across multiple computers?

Now that iCloud has done away with galleries, how can we share as I did with MobileMe? How can we sync non-Apple email accounts across multiple computers?

You will need to find a third party solution for online storage in order to share things like photos with others. Some popular solutions to this are dropbox and sugarsync.
You cannot sync non-iCloud email accounts across your iOS devices and computers unless they are IMAP accounts like iCloud. If they are IMAP accounts, you will do it in the same way as you have always done.

  • How can I set up an Apple email address

    Hi,
I have an Apple account, when I first purchased the Mac Mini in 2009, my grandson set it up for me.  Now that I am getting a lot more familiar with Apple thanks to all you ladies and gentlemen who have contributed to my learning, I now wish to have an Apple email address and do away with Google, can anyone please point me in the right direction please.  I do not have ICloud on the Mac Mini, having said that, I noticed that when I purchased software from Apple or songs from Itunes, items I deleted are stored on ICloud.
As I am still running Snow Leopard, I will be upgrading to Maverick, should I wait till I do that and then set up a new Apple email address?
    Thank you
    Kind regards

  • How do I change my apple email address to my new email addres

Help how do I change my email address on my apple id

First, I did not see "Manage Account" so I used the "Manage ID" feature. I changed my Apple Email address and changed it's password. I receive a message that verified these changes. I then exited "Manage ID". To Test the new ID and Passwod, I returned to "Manage ID". As soon as Manage ID hit the screen, I saw my new email address briefly, and it was then changed to my old email address.
That is the crux of my problem: Apple uses my old ID as the default and in other areas like iCloud where I need to enter ID and PW, they give me the old ID as the defaul and they don't provide a way to change the id, only the pw.
I suspect I'm doing something wrong, but I need to have the old email address (ID) permanently removed. It's security has been compromised.
I appreciate any help you can provide.
    George

how do i change my apple email address to something different

You can create a new account, but any content that you downloaded with your existing account will remain tied to that account - so only that account will be able to authorise its content on a new computer, potentially redownload it, and download updates to its apps.

  • Is there an easy way to add a sketch to Apple Email?

I struggled with a new-to-me sketch program that I found on an Internet website, but I was finally able to copy and paste it to an Email message. It was supposed to have been easier than that, but that was the best I could do.I then realized that I had to add a few lines and notes. That got me to thinking. By now, you'd think that there would be an easy way to add graphic material to Apple Email. Is there?

    this:
Did not exist at the point of delivery to the consumer.
Nor did the white corrosive agent present exist at the point of sale.
" exposure   of copper   alloys   to   moisture   or   salt   spray   will   cause   the formation  of  blue  or  green  salts  called  verdigris.  The presence   of   verdigris   indicates   active   corrosion."
I see also 2 contact points with DEEP corrosion pitting not indicative of any defect from the factory.

  • Is there a grace period for apple email address?

Hey guys I was wondering if there was a grace period for apple email address yourname@'insert apple domain name'.com once you deactivate or delete it before it can be used again?
for example with phone numbers for certain companies it takes 2yrs once the number is disconnected for it to be available to be used again.
Which leads into why i'm asking this, as the reason for this is I had an apple ID/email address that i used when working for an apple reseller a few years ago and when i left i was asked to delete it. which i did but i would like to use the yourname part of it again with @icloud.com but its saying the email address is already in use.
Now i know what you might say that someone else could be using in but thats is very unlikely as i have a very unique name plus i also know that apple in their infinite wisdom kept all address ending in @me.com and @apple.com active in the icloud change over to allow association between @me.com accounts and @icloud.com accounts and i believe the later is the cause of my fustration.
If there is no grace period is there anyway to prove that i was [email protected] and delete that record so that i can setup [email protected] as the apple ID in question are different?

The support community is currently undergoing some minor problems which can occasionally result in newer posts being rendered invisible. One method of working around this issue and revealing the hidden posts is to add a further post of one’s own.
However because it’s not possible to see what one is replying to, it’s not possible to make a valid post in terms of the question(s) being asked, but once it has been posted and the invisible posts become visible again, one can then edit the post accordingly.
If you are seeing this in an email notification, unfortunately you won’t be notified of any subsequent edit and as such should return to the message in the online community to see any changes made to it.

  • My iMessage won't activate. Started about an hour ago. Noticed it was sending green and tried to fix and now it won't register my apple email or anything. It is gone!!! All the iMessage emails and says it is a network

SO I noticed that my messages just stopped completely. Then I tried to send one out and it turned green. I got no response from the receiver. Now I tried to go to iMessage to reset as using my apple email. It wouldn't even reset to using any email. Said I had a network problem. Everything else on the phone is working fine. This all started about an hour ago. I powered the phone down. I did a reset. Nothing. Any suggestions??? I noticed on the forum that another person started having the same problem about an hour ago?? Did apple explode finally? My husbands phone is green also. My sons is blue and he has a 4s. My husband and I have 5's. any help would be great!!! I think I have tried everything

There are server problems right now with iMessage effecting some users.  See http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/systemstatus/.
