Bold 9700 Screen broke, can I still connect?

The screen on my Bold 9700 is broke - it lights up but there is no graphic.  The software appears to be fine because if I power the phone up and type in the password (blind of course) I can still ring the phone and answer calls as normal.  Now, obviously I need my screen repairing but before I put it into the service centre I want to back up all of my data
Tonight I installed the desktop software successfully but I am unable to connect.  when I plug the USB cable in it does make a noise suggesting the application knows there is something there but as I can't see the screen I have no idea if I have to accept anything on the handset itself.
Can anybody suggest a solution to this or am I gonna have to accept that my photos, non-sim contacts and files will be lost forever?

    Okay, so yesterday evening, I received a message from my teacher that I had to redo one of my papers because a program she used detected some copy paste information that was about 39% more than what she accepts and asked me to reword some of the information. When I started working on my paper to resubmit it to her, My laptop was freezing a lot in the middle of me working on my school paper. After a while, it completely froze to the point where I could no longer do anything and stayed frozen for hours on end. I couldn't even save my work which was very frustrating considering I wanted to get that done and out of the way. I felt that I had no choice but to force it to turn off and turn it back on. In the process of me doing so, a flashing file with a question mark came on in which I took the time to look up to see what it meant and how can I fix it. However, after many reading, I realized that if I reboot the system I will lose everything I have that's important to me (which technically is my school work, some photos, and licensing application). I never used the Time Machine when my laptop was up and running because I never understood it or knew how to use it. One of the things I read is that I am able to restore my laptop with Time Machine. But I was curious to know if I can still use Time Machine to backup and restore my laptop? I'm hoping I can as I really do not want to lose the information and files I have saved.     The fact that you can boot into Recovery Mode, which is a hidden partition on your HD, means your HD is working, at least somewhat. Since your main concern is retaining the files that are important to you, what I'd suggest is creating a clone on a separate, external HD. You can do that by booting into Recovery again, partitioning the external with a GUID partition table and creating at least one partition for a clone (3TB externals are pretty inexpensive these days and you could have plenty of partitions large enough to hold what's on your internal drive) and using "Restore" in DU with the internal as the source and the external partition as the target. With that done, see if you can boot from that external clone. If you can't, go back to Recovery, and, instead of Disk Utility, choose Reinstalling the OS but with the clone you just made as the target. When that's done, see if you can boot from the external, and if you can, you will have a working bootable backup of your internal and all your files. You can then wipe the internal and Restore to the internal by using Restore in Disk Utility in Recovery Mode with the external as the source and the internal as the target. Normally, I'd suggest just reinstalling the OS on the internal, but if there's something wrong with the drive, you may risk making things worse, and first priority is to protect your files.

    I'm pretty sure they have restored the phone by now. They can now sell it or reactivate it for their use and there is no way of tracking it. I'm sorry. Find my iPhone only works with idiots that are not computer savvy and wouldn't even think to wipe the phone before using it. It's still better than nothing and you can get it back if you act fast enough and are willing to confront them if the cops are too busy or refuse to help.

    My family recently gave me an iPad for Mother's Day. It's been really awesome, but suddenly today I began getting an error: "Cannot connect to iTunes Store."

    Additional things to try.
    Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

    Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

    Like numerous others who have posted here (most without receiving responses, it would appear), I'm getting the "iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable" message and have been for a long time. I've begun to suspect that the store may no longer allow access using iTunes v.7 (I'm using 7.4) and below. Can anyone confirm this?
    The latest version of iTunes will run on my computer but only with OSX 10.5 and above. I'm running OSX 10.4.11 on a G4 and need to continue to do so because of several pieces of software that I'm running, so upgrading the OS is not an option for me.

    iTunes 7.x will not work with the current incarnation of the iTunes Store. I don't believe even iTunes 8 will work correctly. iTunes 9.2.1 will work, I believe, and it will run on your system:

    9.2.1 won't support all the current features of the iTunes Store, but should at least allow you to connect and purchase. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before even iTunes 9 won't work with the Store, though.

    I used to be able to read and input chinese character on my Bold 9700.
    Few days ago, I connected my device to the desktop manager and it prompted me to update my device os to V5.0.0.593 (Bundle 1022, Platform 5.1.0.147). Ever since then, I am unable to read or input chinese characters.
    I've read through the forum, did whichever I can find, and crashed my blackberry a few times as I think I loaded some 3rd party modules. I managed to wipe out the whole device and reload EastAsia pack (which I did at least 3 times) but am still unable to have my chinese characters on.
    Pls advice what else I can do.

    I Sync my iPhone 4s with my desktop computer.  Can I still connect it to my Notebook with iTunes on it, and NOT have it sync?  The only reason I want to connect it is to use my Verizon Personal Hotspot tethered, and for charging.
    I don't want to connect it and screw up everything that is workinig good now, but I need to travel this weekend, and want to charge and tether.

    To be clearer. I get a message saying that the machine is not authorised (although I know it is) then I choose authorise and type in the correct apple ID etc and then get a message saying that the computer is already authorised. When I click OK on that I start all over again!

    Has your phone been jailbroken?  If so, you will likely never get it to work again.
    You can try placing your phone in DFU mode (search google) and restoring.

    The router settings are okay. Both the phone's wi-fi settings were activated at almost the same time with only 1-2 minutes difference and both the screen say "connected" to wi-fi and the router's or wi-fi's name appear next to the carrier's or cellular network's name. And yes, it asked for a password before I could access the Internet. This was both the case for my phones, but only one of them can really access the wi-fi without a SIM card and without a data or BlackBerry Service provided on a plan by a cellular network.
    I think you are right that it has something to do with the encryption because on my BB Curve8900, the UK network Orange's settings found in Advanced Options are left stored on the phone while the BB Bold 9700 is empty.
