Bold 9780 UP date OS 6 Micro Sim Error

I have just up date my Bold 9780 OS6 with 660.223.update recieved from blackberry.
The phone up date has worked fine, I have been left with one problem the new software has damaged my Micro SD card.
Both my 9780 and my old 9700 will not now read the micro SD and the phone is telling me the SD is damaged.
I have run the repair on the phone with no success
The card if place in my lap top however is not damaged all files are in tacked, We left with the problem only with in my two Bolds
Could you advice me hope to restore the SD card to good working order.

You might have to run through this list of fixes to see what other problems might be casusing it to fail to install

Also you should be seriously considering not using Java at all, it's a security nightmare.
Or disable it when not in use, via the browsers preferences especially.

  • Transferring data from micro SIM to nano

I have an unlocked IP6 and want to activate it on Verizon..  I understand about using a currently activated SIM when I first turn on the phone.  I currently have an IP4s with a micro SIM card and need an activated nano SIM.  Who can transfer my data to the new card, and will it appear activated to Verizon?

That's fine but doesn't the sim card have the network settings etc? Idealy, I'd like to know if the Apple store can copy/port what's on the micro sim from my iPhone 4 to the nano sim that will go into the iPhone 5.

  • How do I transfer backup data from Bold 9780 to Q5

I just got a Q5 and tried to restore backup from Bold 9780 usink Link but it said the software was not compatable. Any other options axailable?

Entering http://blackberry.com/deviceswitch we will obtain the necessary information. However, I can explain in three simple steps:
    Download BlackBerry Link. http://us.blackberry.com/software/desktop/blackberry-link.html
Connect your old BlackBerry BlackBerry and wait for support information link.
Finished the back unplug the old BlackBerry and connect the new BlackBerry Z10 or Q10 to restore the information.
    It's that simple.
    That information supports BlackBerry Link
With BlackBerry Link can do a full backup of our old BlackBerry to a new BlackBerry Z10 or Q10, to be specific we can support:
    Contact.
    Files (photos, music, documents).
    calendar information.
    Annotations and tasks.
    BlackBerry Contacts mesenger (BBM)
    Browser bookmarks and folders.
    Configuracines alarms.
    Text messages, PIN, MMS.
    Wireless profiles.
As you can see, moving from a current BlackBerry OS 5, 6 or 7 to BlackBerry 10 by a Z10 or Q10 BB is only with BlackBerry brainer Link.

  • How can i make my micro sim (which i am using currently on some phone) on the new iphone 6?

I am using an android phone which have a micro sim. And tomorrow i am  going to buy the unlocked iphone 6, which needs nano sim. So how will my micro sim work with iphone 6? Or apple will take care of that for me?
    Thank you.

One option is to ask you cellular carrier to copy the data from the old sim to a new one if the place where you buy the phone can not.

  • US iPad 3G and using more than one micro-sim

    Hello
I'm planning on ordering a 3G iPad from the US. I travel very regularly and plan on having micro-sim cards for the countries I visit all the time i.e France, UK, Germany and others. Obviously it would be a lot cheaper to have separate sim cards for each country as opposed to roaming on a single subscription.
My question is whether any micro-sim will work in the US iPad 3G straight out of the box. I'll have absolutely no need for the AT&T sim.
    Thanks

This post is a little dated, but, as long as I'm here: I just got back from Canada, where I was able to do exactly this: I went into a Bell store in Vancouver and got a microSIM for my 3G iPad 2 ($5).  We took my AT&T SIM out and put the Bell SIM in, and it worked exactly the way it should have: I went to "Cellular Data" in Settings and it let me sign up for a variety of month-to-month plans; I went for 5 GB of service for $35.  The only thing I had to work around was that the sign-up form wouldn't accept "CA" as a Canadian province; I substituted "BC", and it was happy.  The service worked great, and was much cheaper than AT&T's international data roaming plan.
I presume I could go back to Canada and re-use the SIM to purchase a new plan, but I'm not sure how long that would work -- do SIMs (and their phone numbers) used in this way time out after awhile?
To perhaps extend the discussion a bit: I'm going to be in France and the UK in July, and would like to do the same sort of thing, ideally getting one microSIM and service plan that would work in both countries.  Orange provides service in France and the UK, but I'm not sure if a service plan bought in France would continue to work in the UK.  Any advice?

  • I have an SIII and will be traveling out of the country.  Do I need to get a micro SIM card ? (I was told that Verizon has them for free but it needs to be set up and there was a charge for this.

I have a Samsung SIII and will be traveling out of the country. Do I need to get a micro SIM card instaslled for international ?  I was told Verizon has them free for customers but that it needs to be "sert up". Also, are there alternatives to going through the verizon data plan (which is very expensive.
    Thanks

Your phone already has a micro SIM card in the device so it can connect to the VZW network. You will need an international plan from VZW if you intend to use that SIM card. Otherwise you can get a new SIM card from the local carrier and setup the phone for global use with a separate APN with that carrier's specific information.

  • Bold 9780 Notes sync with Macbook

    Hi,
The trackpad on my Bold 9780 has stopped working making me unable to read any messages/emails and browse the phone. I have managed to back up the phone with the blackberry desktop software on my mac, however I am having problems with the 'notes' section. I did a full back up and notes sync, but 'merged' it to ensure that nothing is lost from my phone or my Mac notes.
    1. Where are these notes saved on my Mac?
    2. Is there a way of 'backing up' the notes app from my blackberry so that I can restore it once the phone is repaired?
From what I have read online there seems to be a few people who have had the same problem but I cannot find a solution.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Mikey411,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
What version of Mac OS X are you running?  Do you synchronize your data with Microsoft Outlook or Entourage?
Normally the notes will be saved in the Notes applications or in Outlook/Entourage?
Do you get a specific error when you try to restore or backup the notes?
I look forward to your reply.
    Cheers.

  • Transferring Contacts from a BB Q10 to a BB Bold 9780

I have a Q10 with one provider ( Telus) and also have a bold 9780 with another provider ( bell mobility) . I will be stopping to use my Q10 and need to transfer my contacts to my Bold 9780. How can this be done??

There is no method of transferring data from a BB10 device to a BBOS device. Unless you sync the data to Outlook or to an email account wirelessly there isn't a way to transfer.

It only depends on your operator ! For example, with Orange in France it works perfectly !
    So, what does that prove?
It may have escaped your attention, but this is an international forum.
We are therefore looking for solutions that will work anywhere on earth, and not merely for one single carrier in merely one single country like France!
    Cédric Eyraud wrote:
And no an iPad is not an cellular phone but it accepts an iPhone4 micro Sim for data connexion.
Yes, because both devices happen to use a micro-SIM card, but this certainly does not mean that a particular carrier will allow a data device like an iPad to access their data network with an iPhone 4 micro-SIM card.
Many European carriers (also world-wide) very clearly make a distinction between a micro-SIM card for an iPhone 4 and a micro-SIM card for an iPad. For those particular carriers, the micro-SIM cards are therefore NOT interchangeable for the two devices!

  • Changing the micro SIM while travelling

I'm going to Sweden for 3 months with my Canadian unlocked iPhone4 and I have three simple questions for you experts:
    1) If I take out my current Canadian micro SIM, I won't be charged for data, roaming, incoming calls, etc, right? That is, if my SIM isn't in the phone, I can't possibly connect to the network, so I can't possibly be charged for anything, aside from my monthly baseline fee that I pay for my Canadian mobile phone plan?
    2) Can I get a new micro SIM in Sweden? If I take out my Canadian micro SIM, can I replace it with a Swedish one? Do the Swedes sell them?
    3) What sort of plan can I expect to get in Sweden for the short term (3 months) and what carriers do you recommend?
    Thanks for your help!

    1) yes you wont incur any additional charges once you remove your original sim
    2) you should be able to get a micro sim when in Sweden
    3) I'm not familiar with any Swedish providers but you are better off getting a pay as you go sim and use that with the phone when you are in Sweden.
or if you have issues with sim sizes
you can either get a sim cutter to use the pay as you go sim within your iphone 4, and see if they have any pay as you go options with data or you can get a pay as you go phone with the plan to use temporarily as a cheaper alternative.

you can buy a PAYG data sim in many countries

  • Bold 9780 v6.0.0.448 / Unattended reboot under bad communication conditions !

My Bold 9780 frequently REBOOT when I am using the underground PARISian transport.
I noticed that, most of the case, it happens when the communication channel looks weak...ORANGE is a very BAD communication provider as I never had those trouble with our previous provider.
Anyway, ORANGE can't be blamed for the BlackBerry OS unattended reboot !
My Bold 9780 is running v6.0.0.448 and linked to a 6.5.0.136 platform.
Previously, I was running a Bold 9700 on v5.0.0.862 with the SAME unattended REBOOT problem.
It looks like ORANGE and BLACKBERRY are playing their favorite "pong" game with me about this problem.
Any idea to SOLVE this problem...before we go to other providers ?
    Thanks for reading
    Best regards
    Bruno

It does NOT continuously reboot, it does RANDOMLY REBOOT when the communication links are weak.
I already tried another sim, another battery pack, another BB (from 9700 to 9780), another BB os (v5 to v6)...and I still have this very unfair problem.

  • How to transfer address book to new iPhone 4 (which has micro-SIM)?

Since I will be unable to put the SIM card from my Blackberry Pearl 8100 into the micro-SIM slot of the iPhone 4, how can I get my contacts into the new iPhone 4? The B'berry just has accumulated contact info SIM transferred from previous Razor, not address book or calendar or anything from my iMac's now Entourage 2008 program.
My iMac's address book has 350 entries collected over the past 20 years. I sure do not want all that significant amount of old, historical info to be on my phone, so a direct sync would bring a ton of crap to the iPhone (don't want that).
    Is there a way to:
    1) mark some (read most) contacts NOT to transfer in a sync?
    2) or any (relatively) easy way separate current 'phone related data' from the rest of the data which is more related to email and physical addresses info that I (think I) have no use for on the phone. It seems like my iPhone address book would be a confusing mess if all data from my iMac were transferred over.
Any ideas on this are appreciated.
I have been reading of the huge frustration on iPhone pre-order 'trying' today, so I have not attempted yet. I need to decide if my address book transfer would be best done at an Apple Store or if I should have it shipped to my home for me to deal with the data transfer. Hmmmn.

Sorry about my sentence structure. If I recall right I was responding late at night.
With that said, my suggestion is to yes create an gMail account (if you don't already have one).
Find a way to export out your current contacts to a .CSV file.
Google's gMail address book has an option to Import from a .CSV file (maybe some other formats too).
Once imported, verify everything looks good and edit as needed.
When you get your iPhone there is an option to have the iPhone get and sync it's address book with Google.
Once setup, it allows you to edit contacts via a computer (browse to gMail, edit contacts) and the iPhone will automatically get the changes. Also any changes you make on the iPhone will automatically show up in Google's gMail contacts. Thus no need to ever plug phone in to sync contacts. You only need to plug in to sync music and other data.
I find this process far better than having to plug in to ensure my contacts get backed up.
You can read more about it here on Google's site:
    http://www.google.com/mobile/sync/
