Bold 9930 restarting problem

hi,
Inspite of updating the device software several times the restarting problem still prevails.
Kindly advise,
Regards
Sunny

Hi sunny3788
If even after updating your device software your device is still having the same problem then can you confirm a few things like how many third party application you are having on your device, or are you still having any of those third party application that you are having before this update? If it is then I prefer Uninstall all those applications to see it reboot stops.
If problem disappear then install one application at a time to see which application is responsible .Also as you mentioned on your previous thread that you brought your device recently so I think your device is still under warranty and you can approach your carrier because it might be an hardware issue. And in that situation you can ask for a replacement.

  • BB Bold 9930 charging problem: battery or phone/software?  HELP!

My 9930 began giving me problems about 2 months after I upgraded.  Twice when I have attempted to charge a low (red, blinking) battery with my AC wall charger, the phone will not charge, does not power up after reboot, and has a very slow blinking red light.
The first time, I called customer service, and was promptly mailed a "refurbished" replacement phone.  I installed my old battery and the phone powered up with ease, and was activated without problems.  After two months, this identical problem reoccurred with the second phone & original battery.  I called customer service again, explained the situation, and described the identical nature of the problem.  I was sent a new battery, as the agent felt that was most likely the issue.  I attempted to charge the phone after installing the new battery, and am still unable to use the phone, as it will not gather enough charge to even power on.
I am not super tech-savvy, nor do I use a lot of apps, play games, or listen to music/files.  My use is primarily talking, texting, and occasionally Facebook.  Prior to both of these incidents, my battery had life of up to 3-4 days, which I thought was pretty good, considering all the Bold's upgrades from the previous model.  I have attempted using my old BB charger, and the USB charger to no avail.  I cannot power the device up to even attempt any sort of software update, but to my knowledge, the latest BB software was on my 9930 before it died the second time.
I do not know what this problem could be.  I have read previous discussions regarding the charge of the 9930, but all seem slightly different that my particular problem.  I paid $250 for the phone when my upgrade was available, and don't think I should keep having to deal with this issue every other month on a 'refurbished' phone.  I would be VERY appreciative of any information you phone-savvy BB users might have for me!  For now, I'm back to my old Tour, which runs like a dinosaur....LOL.  Thanks!

If it's not the BB and not the battery, I would suspect that there is something wrong with your OS (or maybe a 3rd party app). Try deleting your apps in the reverse order you loaded them until the problem is resolved. If you still have the problem, I would recommend you download the OS to your PC, back up all settings with BB Desktop Manager, back up all 3rd party apps with BB Swiss Army Knife, and reload your software via your PC. If you originally installed the OS via OTA, it usually causes problems. Good Luck!

  • Bold 9930 Backlight Problems

I upgraded to the 9930 recently and my initial review of the unit was quite positive.  The 9930 worked exceptionally well, no glitches, no problems.  Naturally an OS upgrade to 7.1.0 bundle 457 was available so I updated my system.  From that point on my 9930 has become the stuff negative campaigns are designed for.  However, the biggest problem, and one I cannot seem to resolve, is the unit's backlight function.  No matter what program I am in, no matter what time day or night, regardless of what features are in play, the backlight goes off constantly.  Essentially one or two seconds after the unit is brought out of hibernation to use.  I can be reading an email - the backlight goes off; I can be scrolling through the Internet - the backlight goes off; I can be on the phone - the backlight goes off.  In fact, I have to constantly move the mouse or tap a key to keep the backlight on at all.
I've made a myriad of adjustments to those features that offer backlight access and setup; nothing seems to work.  Verizon, if by chance you see this post, please do not suggest I need a new Blackberry.  This is a software issue that should be fixed ASAP.  My unit worked splendidly until the upgrade to the 457 bundle.
Has anyone else had this problem?  If so, did you find a solution?

  • Sync of bold 9930 w software 7.1bundle to outlook home&business 2013 and gmail account

problem with sync of gmail google and blackberry Bold 9930 with 7.1 bundle software.
Device has best file current setup not syncing device, computer and account.

    Hi,
I found a similar thread and a solution:
Back up all your code / projects etc.
    Close outlook.
Search for VbaProject.OTM (or whatever file is used to store your projects, there may be more than one)
     It should be [Drive]:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook
Move this file to another location.
    Open outlook.
Go into VBA and recreate your projects from your backups.
You should now be able to bring up the digital signature option without it crashing.
This seems to apply to both Outlook 2010 64 bit and Outlook 2013 64 bit.

How can I fix new problem where Windows 7 computer shows BlackBerry Bold 9930 USB to E: & F: at same time?
This issue manifested after I switched the USB port that I used to back up my BlackBerry using BlackBerry Desktop Software; E: shows all (or most) of my BlackBerry's contents, while F: shows nearly empty (attempts to cut/paste from F: to E: didn't resolve anything).

  • What happened to the BOLD 9930???

I got my FIRST blackberry BOLD about a month after it came out. I was very pleasantly surprised because I wasn't used to using a touch screen as well as a keyboard.I was hooked!!!!! My problems started about a month ago, when the speaker went out. Got a replacement and the SAME thing happened.( Not a happy camper). After being on the phone with a most delightful Verizon rep, we figured out it WAS a software problem. We tried to downgrade to another software but no luck. So with much trepidation, I got a bb bold, with NO touch screen. They sent me the phone first with NO battery, and NO back. Well, those items came in the mail, and they sent me an extended life battery which is kinda big. My case doesn't fit it, so now I must buy another case.(Not happy about that). I want my BOLD back!!!! it was sleek, and the apps were the bomb. This BOLd without the touch screen is smaller, and I don't like it AT ALL! I hope they work out all the kinks on the 9930 because I love that phone and want it back!!!!

Sounds like they sent you a Bold 9650 model (the previous generation model) You should call them back and tell them to send you a Bold 9930 which is the latest 'Bold' model available. Be nice on the phone but do not allow them to talk you out of getting the model you paid for.
    Good luck.

  • Why won't my Bold 9930 ring?

My Bold 9930 does not ring at times.  The sound profiles are set appropriately and I'm using a standard ring tone.  I am able to cure the problem by doing a soft reboot.  I've noticed that it says "ringer off" and has a phone symbol with a line through it at the bottom of the screen when the phone is ringing.  Touching the screen does't affect it and I know of no other way to turn the ringer off.

    Thanks, budone, for your reply.
    Hello marken,
I have researched the issue you’re experiencing with the volume on your device and this is not commonly reported. I recommend you select a different standard ring tone to set as your default ringtone and then retest. You can do this by going to: Sounds> Volume> Select Sound and Alert Profiles> Select the profile to change> Press the Menu key and select Edit> Select Phone> Ringtone> Press Menu and Save. I also ask that you make sure there are no items obstructing the device speaker such as cases and covers. Let us know if you continue to experience this difficulty.

  • Why is it so difficult to get an answer on how to connect a Blackberry Bold 9930 to a Windows 7 PC?

I've been jumping through hoops for days trying to get my brand new Blackberry Bold 9930 to connect to either of my two PCs. It will not connect to my new MacBook Pro or a new Windows 7 laptop. I am up to date on all software. This is very frustrating. Can anyone please help? I've read article after article and I cannot believe RIM does not post a fix for this. I've wasted hours trying to get this thing to work. It is no wonder people are moving away from Blackberry.

    Hello,
Well, it works just fine for many people...and there's no way to know, from your post, why it's not working for your specific situation...which quite naturally would preclude posting any sort of fix to your situation. From what you've said, all I can recommend is this:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Desktop-Software-for-PC/Cleanly-quot-Starting-Over-quot-with-...
It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.
Of course, if we could know more about what exactly is going on in your situation, we might be able to provide you with better guidance...but from a report that basically boils down to "it's not working", there's really no direction to go in seeking out help for your specific situation. Details about exactly what you try and exactly what results may be more helpful.
Also, here is the list of other troubleshooting articles...hopefully something will be useful:

Also, check that you are using only root USB ports...no hubs (sometimes the front-side ports are hubs...use a rear USB port). And make sure to try disabling USB power management in your system configuration (Device Manager).
Also check on conflicting software...it has been reported that the software package NTI Shadow&Ninja can cause a conflict; removing them and reinstalling the BB desktop software allows it to install correctly.
Apologies in advance if this is redundant -- there's no way to be sure if you've already seen and tried these. Also apologies if any are not presently available...RIM takes them up and down at will as they revise things.
    Hopefully something there is helpful!
    Good luck!

  • K7N2G-L restart problem

    Hi
If I do a cold start my system will boot up ok,but if I have to do a "restart" after installing something it boots up and the gets to the part where it says "Searching for IDE devices" and it will hang.If I power off and then on again it will boot up normaly.Apart from that it runs well...any ideas  ?(
    Athlon xp 1800+

    Running The K7N2G-ILSR
Antec Case, with 360 Watt power Supply.
Dual SATA Raptor 37.5 Gig WD Drives Raided
Dual WD 80 Gig 7200 RPM Drives
Single Maxtor 120 Gig 7200 RPM Drive
    52x24x52x CDRW
    16X DVD Rom Drive
Athlon XP2500+ Barton Core CPU w/Full Copper Heat Sink
    dual 512meg DDR 333 in slots 1 and 3
Radeon 9700 Pro 8x AGO 128 Meg Video Card
4 80mm Cooling Fans Throughout the case.
CPU Temp runs on average between 50c - 60c
Case Temp runs on average about 89f - 100f
When I set this thing up I had a 300 Watt supply and it did not fully run things and did have some problems with the HD lights staying on, my guess was due to not enough power. So beefing it up to 360 Watts fixed that.
Also had restart problems quite often, at least 3 or 4 times a day it would just reboot on its own, I run and operate a computer store , so I had the ability to try different things to fix this. Turns out the memory on the nForce chipset boards is VERY important. Brand new sticks from a variety of sources had different affects, including not counting all the memory properly, restarting randomly and not booting at all. Believe it or not, one of the cheapest memory makers on the market seems to have been the best for use in the machine and that would be the Kingston Value Ram. So, if at all possible try getting some of them and see what happens. The worst??? All Components Memory.
You guys should also look at the 4 lights that are or should be in the back of your machine provided by MSI for your troubleshooting aids.. They do work and are quite helpful.
Sorry for the lengthy message post, but thought maybe I could be of some help to somebody.

  • Bold 9930 + Bluetooth + Garmin nuvi 3590LMT + SMS + Text

I have a Bold 9930. I have had the Garmin for about a month and have been using hands free calling.  About 10 days after using the Garmin, I got a text message and the Garmin offered to read it to me which it did.  After powering down the Garmin it has never relayed text messages from my Bold.  Never before and never after that one time.  It read one regular Verizon text message and one Facebook Messenger (app not the facebook app) message.  Never read a Blackberry Messenger message.  One did come in while I was traveling (BBM) and was not read.  When connecting via bluetooth: Bold says it connected with the garmin and green check box filled for hands free AND Message center.  I haven't been able to restore this function.  Basically it just started working for one day and never since.

It does not support sending SMS via the Bluetooth. There is no upgrade to allow that, and I am not aware of any third party application which would enable it, either.
    Good luck.

  • NEED HELP?  Bold 9930 or Razr?

I need help from the community since researching sites like Consumer Reports has been leading to more confusion than answers.
I am looking to replace my 2+ year old Blackberry 8330 and am torn between new BB Bold 99330 and Motorola Razr.  My primary uses of a smart phone are:
    + email (I monitor 4 accounts on VERIZON.NET)
    + contact
    + calendar
    + browser
    + password keeper
    + memo
+ brickbreaker (for downtime, of course).
    + camera
How good is the Bold 9930 in supporting these capabilities?
I was looking forward to 4G but am starting to believe that the Android world is too Google (and gmail) centric,
I know this is a broad question, but any help from the community would be appreciated.

    Hello EMT_R,
Good to hear you're ready to upgrade to your next, new device!  I would like to provide you a link that can assist you with choosing the right smartphone, based on your needs and interests.

  • Bold 9930 Bridge Application for Playbook

    Greetings,
I am currently in Afghanistan with the coalition forces,I just ordered a blackberry playbook to use with my Bold 9930 and I cannot access the app store to download bridge here in this country because it is not supported. I am not going to be in a country with access to the app store for some time. I tried to contact Blackberry and RIM via email to see if they could help and have gotten no where. Apparently they want you to spend lots of money on their products yet offer no support..... This forum is my last option in getting the Bridge app. Can anyone assist me?

    Hello PatrickCGross,
I can feel your frustration. Indeed the BlackBerry AppWorld is not currently available in Afghanistan, and you do need it to download BlackBerry Bridge on your 9930. There is no other official way.
On the other hand, you can find some Bridge installer published by individuals. Maybe on the crackberry.com forums. I would not trust them, but maybe you would.
But I don't have the Bridge (my smartphone is a corporate one and I am not allowed to install the Bridge on it) and I am very happy with my PlayBook. and of course I am aware that you may have different needs than me.
But if you look at the bright side, you have a wonderful BlackBerry 9930 device, and next to it, a great tablet for viewing videos & playing Need For Speed.
