Bold font within tables

Helloe to all,
Within Dreamweaver 8, I added some tables to my website and
included text. However, I cannot prevent the text from showing in
bold even though the 'bold' tab is not selected or 'on' so to
speak.
I cannot understand why this is happening or why I cannot
prevent the text showing as bold.

You have inadvertantly elected to have table headers when you
inserted the
table. Look at the diagram on the table insertion panel the
next time you
do that.

I want to customise my table so alternate rows are in bold font

i want to cutomise my table so alternate rows are in bold font - how do i do this ? If this is by way of script please provide the script and how i write and apply the script.
first row gotham narrow medium, second row gotham narrow book ...and so on alternately.

Someone might have a script for this but you can achieve this without scripting using a combination of table styles, cell styles and paragraph styles.

we can do this by using info_fieldname of slis_fieldname.
please go through the below info.
Info_fieldname TYPE slis_fieldname: infofield for listoutput. A whole list record can be colored individually using a color code in a column of the internal output table for the record. Assign the name of the field containing the color code to this parameter.
Value set: SPACE, internal output table field name
The internal output table field must be of type CHAR(3).
The code must have the following syntax: 'Cxy':
        C = color (all codes must start with 'C')
        X = color number ('1'-'9')
        Y = bold ('0' = off, '1' = on)

How to change the column name as bold in adf table

Hi,
How can I change the column name with bolder style and blue colour in adf Table?
I changed the color and font weight in af:column properties, but its effecting the data in that column but not with the column Header Text property.(i have given column name in header text).
can any one have any idea how to do this?
and I have taken panel tabbed layout and in that i'm displaying this table.
but this table has scroll beneath of it to show all columns.
but i want to display all columns (for this, page should have scroll at the bottom side).
how can I achieve this???

Add the following CSS Code to the custom skin css file that is to be created as per the suggestions above.

This would ensure that all the table column headers are blue in color and bolder font style through-out the application.

Font Substitution Tables?

We've recently switched to InDesign from QuarkXPress and something that we had used regularly to account for files coming from Microsoft Word, on Windows PCs, was the font substitution tables in QuarkXPress. With it, we could tell QuarkXPress, via it's preferences, to remember to use "NimrodMT" when it saw "Nimrod MT" in a Word document stylesheet. Same goes for "NimrodMT-Bold" when it encountered "Nimrod MT Bold," etc ... it's a little annoying to have to do this manually, especially when you're receiving 10-15 files per day where the process needs to be manually repeated.
Can anyone tell me if there exists such a feature in InDesign and where it can be found?

Maybe I should clarify ... When importing a Word document into QuarkXPress, if there are fonts that don't match you are presented with a dialog box asking you to find replacements. In that dialog you can also set the substitution as a rule so that whenever QuarkXPress encounters the "bad" font it will replace it with the one you selected as a "good" font no matter what document you are working on. If memory serves, you can also set a font substitution rule from the "Usage" window.
My question is this: Is there a way to make InDesign perform this same funtion?

PLD - Bold font subtotals

Hi.
Can someone please answer if it's possible to make the subtotals in printouts appear in bold font? I can manage the lines of type Text, because this is a seperate database field inside the PLD. But subtotals are not available in the same way.
To clarify my question: I want all the subtotals to appear in bold font when printing sales documents.

Hi Runer,
Yes this is possible, its a bit tricky though.
I am using the Sales Order Confirmation (system) template for 2005A so you should be able to follow the same steps.
Open up the layout and try these steps, all within the Repetitive Area.
Add a Variable field (Variable Number 157, Comment 'Row Type', this can be hidden if required and will display an 'S' if the line is a subtotal). For me the unique id is Field_169.
Add two formula fields, firstly the formula will be Field_169=='S' this is Field_170 (untick Visible), secondly the other formula wil be Field_169!='S' this is Field_171 (untick Visible).
Now the field that displays the subtotal value is Field_025 which also shows the Total amount of the row. At first i copied Field_025 and linked the new field to one of my formulas and the old field to the other one, this didn't work. To get around this I added a new Variable field (Variable Number 299, Comment 'Subtotal Amount', make it bold and move it to where you require it. Link this field to Field_169). Link Field_025 to Field_170.
This should now work for you. variable 299 is actually the Row Total in the document currency and i'm not sure why using the different variable works. I hope this has resolved your issue.

How can I prevent sites displaying in bold font in versions of FF later than 3.6?

Many sites (google, gmail, wikipedia to name a few) are appearing in bold font when they should not be. This started for me in FF4, and has persisted in FF5 and now FF6. I'm running Windows 7 x64.
I've seen many replies to questions about bold font problems telling people to reinstall, e.g. arial as the problem is corrupted fonts on their system. I've tried reinstalling several fonts (arial, verdana, tahoma, times new roman...) and it doesn't solve the problem. Also, if I reinstall FF3.6, the problem goes away, so it seems to be an issue with FF and not my machine.
I've also tried running FF6 in safe mode, with addons disabled, and restoring the default settings. None of this has helped.
I should add that I have another machine running FF6 with the same addons, but with Windows 7 x86 - all pages display correctly. Is this a known issue for FF4+ on 64-bit systems?

Thanks for replying. I'm using exactly the same profile as I did in 3.6, and reinstalling 3.6 does solve the problem. I'd rather use the latest version though.
I've just checked Tools > Options > Content > Advanced of the two machines side by side, and they're identical. The 32-bit one is fine, and the 64-bit one isn't.

I'm using the @font face to embed fonts on my site. Everytime I use a heading tag Firefox adds extra emphasis (making a bold font even bolder). How can I resolve this? The heading tag renders fine in Chrome/Safari.

Start by removing the inline styles from your HTML code. You've got quite a few of them.

Pdf file designed using IREPORT tool. when i preview in adobe reader bold fonts displaying correctly,but same file in mozilla adobe plugin displays fonts unbold

I have designed a report using IReport tool with some text as BOLD, which generates report in PDF format. when i open the file with Adobe Reader IX it opens perfectly.
but the problem is when i open the same file in mozilla add-on "Adobe Reader 11.0.3.37" and in previous versions it does not displaying the bold fonts.

Is there a non-confidential example of this PDF that we could view?

Fontheight problem with large fonts, probably Table related

The bottom half of the font inside tables is overlayed by the line below and the only way the page can be read is by using View->Style->No Style
It looks like the table height doesn't take the font height into account, as soon as the minimum font size size is above 14 it becomes progressively unreadable.

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a high value can cause such issues.

Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.

It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with overlapping text.

Acrobat X Converts Non-Bold Font to Bold From Word Doc

I had used Acrobat 8 at work for over three years with no problems converting any MS Office documents to PDF files. I've purchased Acrobat X Pro for my use at home and now every time I try to convert a Word file (either a doc or a docx), it changes the font on the first page to bold and leaves the second page normal, as the original font in the Word file. I'm not using an especially unusual font (tried it with both Californian and Antiqua, with the same results) and the font shows as embedded in the Acrobat properties, so I don't think that's the problem.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and, if so, is this just one of those "improvements" that renders the software useless, or is it possible this is something they hope to fix soon?

I'm not sure what you mean by "checking the font for changes". In the Word file, only items that are supposed to be bold show as bold; in Adobe, the first page shows entirely as bold and the properties show that I have both regular, italic, and bold fonts - which is correct, because the original Word file has both regular, italic, and bold fonts in it - just not where they are supposed to be (at least on the first page). Second page is fine. And, as I mentioned, "converting it from Word 2007 using Save As PDF" - that *is* using the plug in. My point is that whether using the Word PDF plug in or converting directly using Acrobat X created the problem. I say "created" because this morning, it seems to be working fine. No rhyme. No reason. Not doing anything differently. I do know that I've seen a similar problem in a PDF letter I received from a colleague who was using Acrobat X (while I was still using 8). She reviewed the original Word file and, like mine, it was fine, it was just in converting that the problem arose. So I've decided that the solution involves rebooting one's 'droid. It seems that 21st century solutions are the same as they were a quarter of a century ago. Oh joy.

I have created a form in Sapscript. This forms contains a image, box, text with bold, font Verdana, ...
If I print this form this appears correctly (with image, box, ....) but if i sent to mail only appear the text without format.
I need that the mail shows the image (not attached), box, etc.

I've posted about markups in emails recently....problem is that your output form Scrip doesn't contain the HTML tags. So, when email is opened, the user defaults (Outlook??) are used.
We work around this problem by creating email content that contains the markups that we need... But, we do it from ABAP, not SAPScript, so that's no help to you...
