Bold lines when printing on CLC4040-H1 from 64bit version of Windows 7

I have issue with printing from Windows 7 x64 to Canon CLC4040-H1. It prints, but some lines are printed bold and a bit blurry. When I print from Windows 7 x32, everything is fine. Cold you recomend me some driver for Windows 7 x64, which works for you well?

Hi Skelb!

  • I have vertical lines when printing even after changing cartridges.

I have vertical lines when printing even after changing cartridges. There are no lines when copying, faxing or scanning, only printing. I have cleaned the glass, scanner and even dusted where the toner cartride slides in.  Any suggestions?

Sorry but I have worked on laser printers for over 20 years and never encountered your issue.  That is of course if you are explaining it correctly.  When you make a copy to be printed or print a reports page from the printer or send a print job to the printer, if in all these cases you get the line, then yes the issue is either the toner cartridge or the fuser.  If you make a copy to be printed and it prints without the line (Put original in adf, press copy button and print should come out), then you have one weird unit since it does not make sense since the print formatter on the unit whether making a copy or printing from the computer or unit itself uses the same hardware.  Now to test if the printed copy has a line then just put a sheet of paper on top of the feed tray and do a self test from the printer.  When the back edge of the paper enters the printer, quickly open the toner door to stop the printing.  Remove the toner cartridge and look at the image below.  If the defect is present the toner cartridge is the issue and if the image below does not have the defect, then the fuser needs to be replaced.  Best I can do.  Good Luck.

  • Remove grid lines when printing

I am trying to print a set of financial statements and do not want to see the grid lines when printing the final document. I cannot work out how to do this.
Some posts I have read say that grid lines are described as cell borders and suggest that they can be removed using the inspectors "cell borders " facility.
I have tried to do this but cannot make it happen. If I were to successfully remove the borders/grid lines then surely this would also remove the underlines I have inserted with great effort.
I would really appreciate anyone's help with this

One more time, it's useful to use our brain before stating a task.
If I read well, you used some cell borders as an underline segment.
Now you pay the result of a bad design.
You have no way to remove only borders which aren't "underlining" ones.
Next time think before and use the Underline text attribute so you will be able to remove the grid easily.
I know that some spreadsheets have two structures :
    grid
    borders
But, those which took time to read the User Guide know that in Numbers there is a single structure :
    borders.
So, remove or hide grid means remove or hide borders.
When we work with a tool, we may ask it what it is designed to do, not what we guess it will be able to achieve.

  • 2540 printing problem, missing lines when printing from iPad

Bought a new 2540 to use with iPad, printing direct from wireless direct to printer and missing lines, tried copying and everything is working/printing ok. It just appears to be when printing from iPad. I have tried powering down printer and rebooting but still the same.
    Any help appreciated.

Hey ,  Welcome to the HP Support Forum.  I see that you're having what sounds like AirPrint quality issues with your HP Deskjet 2540 All-in-One Printer. I would like to assist.  Your 2540 is AirPrint compatible, but not all app content and file formats are AirPrint friendly. I recommend installing the HP ePrint app. (I'm assuming you don't have WiFi if you're a wireless direct user. If that's the case try and visit a public space with WiFi and install the app there. Once installed you can use it within a wireless direct setup).  Let me know if this helps. Thanks for reaching out and have a great day!

  • My unusual (?) printer issue -- Prints only partial lines when printing in black (part 2)

I have been using my HP Officejet J4680 with my Win7 PC for several years and relatively problem-free -- until about six months ago.
My printing issue might be rather odd.  So odd, in fact, I’m not sure how to succinctly describe it.  I’m not too techie, but I will try….
This printer will print some lines correctly, other lines print only partially, and some lines don’t print at all.
This oddity happens ONLY when I print in black.  When changing the color of the text to any other color other than black the page does print correctly.
Further, this issue seems to occur ONLY when printing certain things/files/formats.  For example, material from most websites will print correctly.  As will most .PDF files.  Printing files such as .txt, .doc, .wps, etc., seem to be the most problematic.
    Fixes I have tried include:
    Uninstalled and reinstalled printer
Run HP’s diagnostic tools (including checking for any driver updates)
Installed several new black ink cartridges
    Cleaned and re-aligned printer head
Lastly, the “copy” feature continues to produce good results.  These problematic symptoms seem to occur only while using the “print” function.
Short of relegating this printer to the trash, I’ve tried everything I can think of.  Help/ideas/suggestions appreciated.

    HI Here4Help2,
Here is a document to troubleshoot poor quality black text for your printer. This is a pretty interesting problem you have here. Let us know if this helps or if the problem remains.
If I helped you at all it would be great if you clicked the blue kudos star!
If I solved your post please mark it as solved to help others.

  • Changing the starting line when printing on new page.

I am using Reports 6i. I have a report with a master/detail ralationship. The columns from the master query prints once only at the beginning of the report followed by numerous detail lines. However, should the detail lines continue printing onto a new page .... I would like to specify a particular position to start the print.eg 5 or perhaps 7 line from the top. Can this be done in reports 6i. Thanx in advance!

Reports allows you to position the objects anywhere you want on the page. The only reason that objects move up the page is because they are anchored to objects above them. When those objects don't print, the objects that come after move up.
You can create an object that prints on all pages but has no line and no fill color. This can then be used to reduce the amount the master frame can shrink by. (Make sure it prints on all pages. You might need to create seperate frames to surround the fields you want to see and the transparent field - then another to surround them both).
If you know the position that you want the details to print then you can position the detail objects in the appropriate location and change the properties against the frame that surrounds he detail section as follows:
"Base Printing On" to "Enclosing Object"
"Print Object On" to "All Pages"
Alternatively, create an explicit anchor between the frame and the top of the report.
Finally, if you want to parameterise the position of the detail records, you need to create field that dynamically re-sizes to push everything below it down by the required amount.
    - create a field object that is at the same level as the master objects
    - set the "print object on" propert to "All but First Page"
    - set the source of the field to something like "desformat".
    - then use the srw.set_field_char(0, "<some text with a number of returns>"); in the format trigger
This allows you to push everything below the field down by any desired amount.

  • Weird symetric bottom line when printing

    Hi
I have a weird problem when printing from Illustrator CS4, i get a symetric linie at the bottom of the page in the same color as the star i am printing, and the color of the line changes when i change the color of the star ?
    All the best
    Carsten, Denmark

    Thanks again
It's not a printer issue, cause we have two excatly same printers, and when printer from the one computer, the line isen't there, but from the two others, it is.
We have also tried to print to the other printer, but with the same result.
The only thing different is the OS, the two that are printing the line are running XP, the one that doesn't is running Win7.
The file is created on the Win7 machine.
EDIT: Funny thing, when creating a new star on the XP machine there's no line at the bottom when printing ?

  • Cm3530 colored vertical line when printing

When printing over a wireless network (entire office is wireless but printer is wired), printout have a verticle blackish, blue verticle line on the left side of every page.  It does not happen when copying or scanning only printing from any PC.  I have changed the ITB and transfer roller.  This helps for a few days/weeks but the problem comes back.  I hate to throw parts at it again, ie, formatter or DC controller but I don't know what else I should do.  Anyone have any suggestions?
I have had this printer for several years and it is now out of warranty and issue has just started about a month ago.  Any suggestions is greatly appreicated.

  • Color wrong when printing to Canon i9950 from CS5 apps and Acrobat, Win7 x64

When printing from InDesign CS5 on Win 7 x64 to Canon i9950 using the  Canon ICM profiles (MP1, PR1, PR2, SP1) the colour output is completely  wrong!
I disable the printer driver in the print prefs  (set to "manual") and under "color management" choose "Let InDesign  decide..." (no other option) for "color handling", and choose one of the  above profiles for "printer profile", as appropriate to the paper in  the printer, and the colours are totally out of whack.
If  I just set the output "printer profile" to "Adobe RGB (1998)" the  output is much better, but of course it still isn't quite correct, or  properly set for the individual substrates, which the Canon ICMs are  supposed to do.
Interestingly, when setting output to the  Canon profiles, it makes no difference whether the printer manages  colour (auto) or not (manual). Also, strangely, these profiles were  working fine with CS4, before installing CS5, but now they are not  working in CS4 either!
So now "colour management" is a joke thanks to CS5.

You might check with Canon to see if they've prepared any updated printer drivers you can download and install.
Scout around this forum, a number of folks have reported certain Epson models with similar issues.  Feedback from Adobe was that they've switched to newer printer interfaces under the covers, and not all printer drivers work properly with those interfaces.  In one case at least a new printer had to be purchased to fix the problem.

  • Scaling issue when printing to HP devices from InDesign CS4

I seem to have a recurring error printing from InDesign CS4 (OS X Leopard 10.5.8) to both my HP printers (C3180 & Officejet Pro 8500). When printing at 100% size, the artwork gets scaled up slightly. For example, creating a simple 5 x 5" box ends up coming out at 5.125 x 5.125" on the printed sheet (with no scaling turned on in the print dialogue).
I've not been able to find any support issues related to this on either HP or Adobe's site. I suspect it's s driver/postscript incompatability issue. The same artwork prints at the correct size when exporting to PDF and printing from Acrobat.
Curious if anyone else is experiencing the same problem.

A large percentage of problems we see related to printing seem to be with HP printers. Are you doing borderless or anything like that? What is the page size and scaling in the driver?

  • Officejet 8500 skips lines when printing MS files

    Has anyone ever encountered this?
My HP Officejet 8500 pro prints 3 lines then skips 3 lines repeatedly when printing MS documents but will print all my pdf
files flawlessly.  Did I mentioned it is connecected to a network and reacts the same for all users.

    Hello -
Sounds more like a "Print Quality" issue. I send you a link with some steps you can try.
If the quality is fine, there is a "calibrate linefeed" in the tools section on the printer. press the wrench, then tools, then calibrate linefeed.

  • Slitting text in lines when printing

I'm trying to send a string to the printer that is multiple lines. When printing on the paper the new line is ignored. How can I split my strings so that it will print on multiple lines? Thanks

    You can split String with the split method. This method requires a parameter. For example if you wanna split the String every time you reach a space, use this as: string.split("[  ]");
    if you wanna split it on ,'s, use string.split("[,]");
    if you wanna use both, use string.split("[ ,]");
    and so forth
Don't know if you ment this, your question wasn't really clear

  • Black lines when printing photo.

I have Adobe Photoshop Ellements 7.
All applications print correctly accept this program. I get vertical bl
ack lines when i print a photo. What"s up.

I read somewhere that this problem can occur with some printers if the picture's resolution has a fractions in it, for example 300.456. This can happen, for example,  if you resize the picture with the resampling box unchecked. Try resizing again to just the whole number.
