BOM data refresh for a change in material master

Hi!!
I would like to ask for your help..
I have to change frequently procurement type in material master (view "MRP 2")
How can I, afterwards, refresh the BOM linked to that material, so to have new procurement updated for my production order??

Dear Chiara,
For the already existing production orders,after entering the order no in CO02,click on Functions--->Read PP Master Data,so
that the made changes become effective.
For the change which you have made can be seen during the next MRP run in the system.
Check and revert back.

Purchasing info records for PO-items without material master

Hi gurus,
I would like to have the system automatically determine certain settings (e.g. reminder/urging data).
For PO-items with material master there is no problem, because all information can be stored in the purchasing info record, and are automatically found when I enter the material number.
For items without material number/master I tried to generate a info record for the material group. When I enter the no. of the info record, everything works fine. But the info record is not automatically found, if I only enter the material group no.
Is there any way to make the system find the info record by itself?

Of course, you cannot have more than one info record at a time for a material group. But one would be enough for me...

Thanks for the advice, but I know how to manually select a info record. The point is, I'd like to have the system determine it according to the material group I enter.

Generate change documents for characteristic value changes in material master

Hello,
I am currently using material class (class type: 001) and assign some characteristics to material master. I am going to create a query/custom report to track all changes in the characteristic values in that material master. However, I could not find any change document in CDHDR table.
I have activated "Change Docs" parameter in class type 001 customizing as described in SAP note: 65124 Classification Change Documents as follow:
Is it possible to generate change documents for characteristic values in material master?

Thanks for your reply. It seems that I missed one more step in the customizing. Once the multiple object is activated, I need to activate the change document parameter for each assigned object.

Changes in Material Master leading to issues in MRP

Hi,
For a particular material a user changed a lot of material master data (MRP1 and MRP2 view) within a couple of hours.
As a result MRP is not working as we would expect:
- some orders have no quantity in the "Available quantity" column in MD04 and as a result do not trigger any PO (Received/Required quantity = -1, but Av qty = blank)
- whenever a shipment is foreseen it is consumed/reserved by/for the order which requested delivery date is closest after that shipment date
These are the changes made to the master data in November 2009:
Planning Strategy Group: from Make-To-Stock Production to No Planning to Strategy Group for Spares & Consumables to No Planning to Strategy Group for Spares & Consumables
MRP Group: from Client Specific MRP Group for Period Mgmt to General to External Procurement to Client Specific MRP Group for Period Mgmt to General to Client Specific MRP Group for Period Mgmt
Availabilty Check: from Indiv. Req. to Indiv. Req w/o PO. to Indiv. Req.
Unplanned Consumption in period: from blank to 11.2009
Fwd Consumption Period: from 0 to 999 to 0
Consumption Mode: from blank to Forward Consumption Only to blank
Unchanged MRP material master data:
Bwd Consumption Period: 0
MRP type: MRP
Planning Time Fence: 1
Lot size: WB (weekly lot size)
Procurement type: External Procurement
Backflush: always backflush
What should we do to have MRP work correctly again for this material?
Changes to material master MRP? Delete all schedule lines and start from scratch in SOs?

Solved internally by adjusting Strategy Group

Not able to transfer changes in material master (periodic)

Hi Friends,
Got an issue here. I am not able to transfer the changes I made in material master. I want this as periodic, Made the specific setting in CFC9. And for your information 'Activate ALE Change Pointers Generally' and for massege type are activated.
But when I execute CFP1 I got massege: 'No appropriate master data changes: Transfer has not happen'.
I made changes in material master (global level),..like gross weight changed. Material is in active IM, no duplication.
Any help Please? We are on SCM 7.0.

OK, Guys I think I need to raise an OOS... It was for SCM 7.0, but was basic config....thts why I edited the thread so many times expecting some responce.

Please look at OSS Note 1069560 - Data inconsistencies: Activating integration. models in parallel, if this helps you.
Since Gross data of material is in the basic view, it is common across plants , whereas, IMs are normally designed to have material masters at plant level.
We may have same material in different IMs with different plants. Therefore changes of the basic view fields are then contained in multiple IMs. SAP advises to have a larger IM or sequential activation of IMs.

PuP price not changed in Material master

Hello All experts
I have one question about the material ledger related transaciton, I have a Material with 2+V (price deter. and price control) setting in Material master data in Accounting 1 TAB. And material ledger is active for this material, the Periodic Unit price is 1 USD in current period and stock is 0.
One PO posted for this Material for purchase with actual price 100 USD, and 101 movement type with special stock indicator E was used in Goods receipt posting. I think these stock will be treated as valuated sales order stock. But GR posting didn't trigger any PuP price change in Material master. Is that situation normal? Pls kindly help.

With price control V in activity-based material price determination (indicator2 in the material master), the moving average price is calculated. With price control S, the material is valuated with the standard price and the moving average price is calculated for information purposes.
In single-/multi-level material price determination(indicator 3 in the material master), the valuation price (standard price) remains unchanged and a periodic unit price is calculated for the closed period.
This option is only for materials with price control indicator S,and is only recommended if in addition to multiple currencies and/or valuations, you use single-/multi-level material price determination.
In single-/multi-level material price determination, a periodic unit price is updated for information, but it can only be used for material valuation in the closed period.

There is no difference in SFg and FG Material master. some time Straegy group will differ.
FOR BOM
create a seperate Bom For SFG anf FG
In SFG BOM - maintain what are the materials required to make the FG in Compnent and the quantity.
In FG BOM- maintain SFG material as component and give the quantity, item category and other raw material or SFG

No delivery expediter for PO item without material master

Hello gurus,
when I create a PO with an item without material master (just user-defined text), my system does not create a delivery expediter in ME91F, although the delivery is overdue. When I use a material master in the item, the expediter is created just fine.
Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong here?

Check in ME22N, under "Delivery" Tab whether following is maintained
Reminder 1
Reminder 2
Reminder 3
If not then maintain ad if you want it to come automatically in PO then check in SPRO > MM > Purchasing > Material Master > Entry Aids for Items Without a Material Master > Here assign the Purchasing Value Key to the material group
It will start picking it for this material group for Text PO also.

In this step, you can assign a purchasing value key and a valuation class to a material group.
The assignment of a purchasing value key provides you with default values for reminder levels etc. in purchase order items without a material master record and without an info record.
The assignment of a valuation class to a material group enables the system to determine different accounts for the individual material groups.
This is usally useful for creation of PO and account posting for materials without an MMR.
When you create a PO you mention only the material group, based on which the purchase info like the Deadline monitorying, over/under delivery tolerances, Vendor evaluation etc gets incorporated into the PO. The account posting will get captured against the Valuation class maintained to the Material Group for which the GL account mapping will be done against the V.Class in the OBYC.

IDoc for -Schedule Changing of Material- Table PCDPOS and / PCDHDR

Hi Experts,
i have an very big Problem. I have to find a way to transfer Change Master Data to a target system. I am not talking about ECMMAS. I need the Content of an future change in my target system.
MATMAS only distributes the current Material Status. But not the future status, which is the on I needed. E.g. Use TA CC03 and enter a change master number and select one of the objects. Here you can see the Material Master how it looks "in future" and this is the view i need to send from my source to my target system. Has anybody an idea, how i can do this?

For that classification data fields
there is no change log option checked in the data element level.
or there is no associated changelog class.
check in SCDO transaction for change log class.

How to add attributes in Data Column for automatic changes

Hello everybody,
Could you give me an advice?
I have characteristic and attribute assigned to it.
I want to make what when i change characteristic(variable) its attribute in planning layout changes too. So in planning area window in Characteristics Rels tab i made "Derivation, Combination Check and Proposal" with main characteristic and its atribute. Everything works fine, but problem is, that attribute can be only in Header or in Lead column.
In planning layout i want to add what attribute in data column.
Maybe where is other solutions?

I find solution to do it with Characteristic Rels, but i can't insert char. LEVEL into Data Column, it can be just
in Lead Column.
I don't know how to do it.
