BOM - documents assignment (ramanujan)

Dear ramanujan,

Simple documents like excel, word, pdf can be attached to Bom header or item directly without having DMS.
How?
What are the steps required?

Extrmely sorry for misleading you. It is only possible for material. In MM02 there is a button for services for object where in you could create an attchment without DMS. But the same is not available for BoM when I checked it. It is possible only through DMS.

Bom item data - Document assignment not getting saved in table STPO

Dear All,
              As per out customer requirement, they want to display assigned drawing documents of Bom items in CS11. But it is not reflecting in cs11 eventhough we have assigned documents in Bom item detail overview Document assignment tab page. Moreover this is not getting saved in table STPO.

Please understand my customers requirement,
                           Presently they are assigning drawing document of each mat in material master. And if they want to see the drawing of each component of bom through Bom maintenance then they double click on component in bom, goes to mat master then additional data then document data and then drawing. In this way they need to open minimim 5 windows, which they want to make minimum 2 windows.
          In bom they are having more than 300 components. This is not possible to define document as component with item category D of so many components. One more idea I given to them is to club all drawings in one document and define that document as component with item category D, but in this way they can't identify the individual drawing with part name.
          One more idea I given to them is to assign drawing document of individual component in item overview - Document assignment tab page from where they can open the drawing but it needs to open minimum 3 windows. So they are ready to assign drawing document in item overview - Document assignment tab page but they want, it should reflect in CS11 document column, from where they can easily open the drawing document.
          One more thing I observed that, assigned document to item overview - Document assignment tab page is not getting saved in Table STPO. I can't see this field content in STPO, which may be the reason that it is not reflecting in CS11.
         Is anything missing from Document management system?

Document assignment to Material Master & BoM

Hi Experts,
If I assign a document (Document type DRW) to material master X in MM02, later I include this material X in the BoM of material Y, would this document appear in the CS03 screen- for Y -> component item details for material X ->document tab or not?
I think it will not appear in BoM component if we assign document to MM02, we need to assign this in CS02.

Abhilash,
If you want to see the document in cs03 which you allready created in MM02, dubble click on item number it will show you the material display, where you can see that document. This document is related to material master data. OR you need to assign the document in BOM.
You can assign the document in BOM in three ways,
1) Attach document as an item in the item overview,
2) Attach document to an item and
3) Attach document to the header material.
1) Attaching document as an item in the item overview:
-go to the `General Item Overview' screen
-select the tab page `Document'
-enter item category `D'
-dropdown and select the document you want to attach
-the system automatically selects the respective document type, document part, document version and document description
-the system also enters component quantity `1' and component unit of measure as `PC' by default.
2) Attaching document to an item:
-go to the `General Item Overview' screen
-select the particular item by F2
-the item all data screen appears
-go to tab page `document assignment'
-dropdown and select the `document type' you want to attach u2026dropdown and select the document you want to attach
-the system automatically selects the respective document part, document version and document description
3) Attach document to the header material:
-go to header overview screen
-go to tab page `document assignment'
-dropdown and select the `document type' you want to attach
-the system automatically selects the respective, document part, document version and document description

-create document by transaction CV01N
-Customizing settingsu2026in document management customizing determines which objects can be assigned to documents per object type.
-go to IMG -> cross-application components -> document management -> control data -> define documents type
-select the document type for example `DRW'
-select the sub dialog `define object links'
-select new entries and enter following objectsu2026
-'STPO_DOC' and screen `257'(linking document to BOM header) u2026'STKO_DOC' and screen `258'(linking document to BOM item) u2026now documents can be linked to BOM header as well as BOM item.

Question about Documents Assignment

At the T_code:MM02, I maintain a material with a document assingment of 5000000001,but as I put the the material in a BOM,the document couldn't appear in the BOM item which label named "documents assignment".Can anyone tell me the reason?

Hi Huang,
As documents are linked through object links,Material Master,BOM Header & BOM Item are three different objects.
Firstly the documents which are linked in Material Master the same has to be viewed without attaching in BOM,
docuble click on component where it leads to material master display screen and see the document.
Secondly from DMS, documents cannot be linked to BOM Header and BOM Item.Even though if u want to link ,attach documents while u create BOM

Accounting Documents - Assignment feild error

Hi All,
I am creating a   contract, line item of contract having an item category relevant for time based revenue recognition.
1) When I am billing the contract, the accounting document assignment field (line items) is populated with the contract numberu2026..this is because of the order to Billing documents   copy controls
2) But the assignment field of accounting document line item of the revenue recognition is not getting populated with Contract Number. It is getting populated with the reference field (xblnr)u2026 for the Advance Income account G/l & revenue Account G/l , and blank(with out any value) for Unbilled Receivables G/l.
What are the configuration settings/developments to be done to populate the Assignment field of revenue recognition accounting document with contract number
Please note that sort key for the unbilled receivable G/l account (B/s u2013 asset) is u201Cblank- no valueu201D and revenue account g/l, advance income (B/s u2013 liability) is u201C009-external document nou201D and customer Number    sort key   is u201C999-sales order)

Use of field "design documents assigned" in material master

hi,
kindly help me to use the field "design documents assigned" in material master. whenever i creat material master (MM01) in basic data2 view this field comes with grey/black No Link indicator. how to use this and for what .

Hi Roshan,
Insted of using this field u can assign Document directly to the Additional Data tab.
TO attach the document to Material Master go to Additional data ---> Document data, assign Document.
You can confirm it by pressing F1 key by selecting that Field.

Freight - Marketing Documents Assign a Project Code

Hi All,
I have a customer that uses project codes and profit center functionality in SAP Business One. They flag transactions to record the relevant project codes and profit centers for extended reporting requirements. So far we have had no issues but we have encountered one lack in functionality which I can't seem to configure in SAP Business One. The issue is that we cannot assign a project code when recording additional charges / freight during a marekting document in SAP Business One. However you are able to assign a profit center? Is this a limitation of the product and if so will this be addressed in future versions? Does anybody know?
Any feedback / ideas will be greatly appreciated!

PRPS is separate table for WBS element. If you want to see it in DMS then check in object link field name in DRAW.
Hope you are aware about the standard objects in SAP and their respective tables.

SAVE_TEXT to implement long text for Material, BOM, documents etc...

Hello,
we are working on a process to download longtexts from one system and to upload into another system to add missing long text there for different objects.
We are using SAVE_TEXT and it is working fine for documents in DRAW/DRAT.
Here we got what we expected. Long texts are uploaded and can be edited in the
transaction CV02N.
But then we started with material and with BOMs (bill of material).
Result of upload:
STXH is filled with entries but in MM02 and CS02 we cannot see the added long texts.
Seems that the connection between material and bom and their texts is missing.
For BOM we are not totally wrong. If there is a longtext in the BOM we can add longtext (we READ_TEXT the existing longtext and add our text. Then we do a update) and can see the added longtext in CSxx transactions.
But if there is only a short text, our insert via SAVE_TEXT is not working.
Is there something we are doing wrong or don´t we understand something?
Any help is appreciated.

oh, this answer was bringing light into my confusion.
My problem is that there will be some import files with any long text for any object in R/3 like
material with x textids , bom, equipment etc...
Is there any chance to find out easily which text object combination with textid belongs to a specific long text. The TTXID table is only a listing w/o any explanantion???????

My other problem now is with Material long text import.
I checked the SDN threats but could not find the answer.

Copy prices between documents assigned to different pricing procedures

Different pricing procedures are assigned to sales document & Billing document -- however some of the condition types are common in the two procedures-- would the pricing get copied for the those common conditions if the copy control is set to copy (pricing type "G")
Appreciate your responses.

Pricing Type = G is to copy the pricing and redetermine taxes so it should based on if that is all in the copy control. We do not have a different pricing procedure for both, we just copy the values from the order and/or the freight document.
When I have these types of questions, I always run a test order in dev and it answers many questions. Good Luck.

Equipment BOM & Plant assignment

Dear All,
My client having two Maintenance Plant which is 1001 & 1002 & having one planning plant which is 1001.
Here 1001 plant executes the maintenanace of 1001 & 1002 plant.
Actually we have created one Equipment in plant 1002, so its maintenance plant is 1002 & its planning plant is 1001, in this condition when i am going to create Equipment BOM through tcode IB01, then which plant needs to be assigned to that Equipment BOM.....1001 or 1002 ??

As equipment has been created in Plant 1002, in equipment BOM creation, plant should be 1002. Equipment BoM definition plant would be based on the equipment location.

Setting access privileges to document / assigning global preferences

Good Morning,
I have just finished designing my first document in Web Intelligence (as this is my first Business Objects experience). The report will be moved to prod soon but there are two issues which are still pending. I have looked for solutions everywhere but have come across nothing.
Issue 1:
The way I designed the report is for the report to be opened in Interactive mode and in a new browser window. But in testing the report with different users I have discovered that each user must set his preferences individually to attain my desired effect. Is there a way where I can assign these document options globally? So that the user does not have to tinker with his/hers setting.
Issue 2:
The way in which the report will be published is through a link in one of our intranet's page. I wish to have only certain users use the report. How can I assign access rights to the report. Lotus Notes is my company's e-mail system. Does Web Intelligence have the ability to work with Lotus Notes groups? If not, can I create a user group through BOBJ and have only this group be able of accessing/modifying the report?

Issue 1: As per my knowledge I think Each user has to set it manually.
Issue 2: For your WebI report you can assign users/ User groups to access. For that go to CMC -> reports -> select your report -> Assign privileges to users/ User groups.

Eg:-
we r having One BOM A
which is consedering RM x,y,z and i want to use alternate of x with -
x1,x2 and system will check in production order whether x is having stock then x1.x2 must be zero (in case when u r creating production order and check material availablitythen system automatically check and do zero qty to x1,x2, and if x is not available instead of x x1 having stock then System will automatically cosider x-zero,x1-having ,x2-zero. then wht would be in the alternate Group settings.
