BoM exlosion date

Hi,
Can anyone please let me know the usage of Fixed key date for the Bom explosion date and how it is used in READ MASTER DATA in the Production order
And when when READ MASTER DATA is used, I am reading in SAP HELP that it deletes the ALL PURCHASE REQUSITION ITEMS FOR NON STOCK COMPONENTS--What does this mean
Thanks,
SS

Hi,
The fixed key date is a kind of valid date. i.e. the date on which you want the BOM or Routing to be read. (Refer SAP help to know you want to use it).
In MD61, you can maintain the BOM expl nos., go to Schedule lines tab, then follow menu path Settings - Bom Expl nos. then the column becomes active, then you need to enter the number which you have created for that material via MDSP.
For the concept of BOM expl nos. i believe the SAP help should clarify your query, go thru it & if something is still not clear, you may revert.

  • BOM exlosion date and basic scheduling date

    HI gurus,
I am new for SAP, and I currently learning basic date scheduling and BOM explosion.
My doubt is if during requirement planning bom is exploded to determine requirements then, why again on basic start date bom is exploded?
if this is only in case of alternative bom then also selection of bom and its explosion takes place on the day of mrp run to determine requirements, still in this case on basic start date why bom is exploded?
please help me. correct answer will be rewarded in points!!

    Hi Akshay
Your question is not clear. On the MRP process the BOM is exploded only once for each planned order. Under which circumstances the BOM is being exploded again?
Please observe that there is a customizing to determine which BOM explosion date will be considered by MRP. You can find on transaction OPPQ, under section BOM Explosion.
The following note also provides a very detailed explanation of the BOM explosion and master data selection:

  • BOM explosion date after order finish date

    Hi
We have issue with BOM explosion date. In process order, BOM explosion date is geting calculated after order finish date.
Any idea why this is happening.

    Hi,
Just to understand the issue better, can you list the scheduled and basic dates on the order.

  • How can read BOM component date before save the production order??

    Hi Experts,
In our company, we need to develop a program to read the BOM component data of the production order
before we save the production order.
That for example ,when we create and release a production order , before we save the production
order,we want a porgram to read the BOM component data. If some component data can meet our
requriement (may be if there is material requirement quantity>100 EA),then the system will pop up a
small dialog box to remind us.
There is user exit PPCO0007 and PPCO0007.But it seems they only can read the head data of the
production order before we save the production order. And the BOM component data of the production
order are saved in the RESB(Reservation Table). So if we do not save the production order, all the BOM
component data are not saved in the RESB table.
So how can slove the problem??
How can read component date before save the production order??
Are there any other user exit we can use???

Hi Just wanted to check am I right that you are trying to check if you have enough Materials Available before you release or Save the order right ? if this is your business objective then when you create order you have material availability tab which checks and gives error if shortage is there. Please let me know if is this wht you asking for ?

    go to cs02
    click F4,
select the option material by Bill of material
u will get the list of bom material in the plant
so that page u can directly download to the excel

  • Exit for production order creation that update BOM explosion date

    Hi Guros
does any one know a user exit for production order creation that update BOM explosion date = AUFLD.
or a UE that run before the BOM explosion.
    thanks.

    Dear,
I dont think user exist will work for you,
You need to find BAdi for it, cl_exithandler=>get_class_name_by_interface .
    Or try with SE84,
Enter the package name and check the " Enhancements"

  • Bom- master data template

Hi, in bom master data template i have seen only one "component" field in one row in excell sheet. generally in our boms we will have more than 10 components for each product as bom items. please advise if each row represents one product in bom, how to include all components for data uploading. thank you.

    Raju,
The excel sheet for Data upload template is generally based on some kind of recording like BDC recoding  or LSMW recording.
So typically it will have BOM header material / component material & qty as 3 fields in 1 row.
If you need to enter 10 components for each header material you will have to populate 10 rows.
    Ex . BOM A has 3 components C1, C2, C3.
then Excel sheet can have following 3 rows with qty.
       A, C1, 3
       A, C2, 4
       A, C2, 1
Hope this makes it clear for you.  Good Luck
    thanks,
    Ram

  • BOM Valid Date

    Hi,
While creating BOM due to some human error we took wrong valid date. Now i want to change it.
Please suggest me the T-code or any customization to change the same.
    "I am online"

    Dear Pawar
This are the basic IMG settings in order to used the engineering change management
    features.
    x refers to a tick.
First setup the control data in OS54.
    Revision sections
    Fields :-
    Revision level active            x
    Ext. revision level              x
    Higher revision level            x
    Object Management Record sections
    Fields :-
    Object maintenance               x
    Assign alternative date          x
    Overide value/assignment date sections
    Fields :-
Only with leading change mst.    x
Setting the Revision level active is to activate the engineering change management for
material master.  If you do not want the engineering change management for materials,
    remove the tick.
With a tick in "Higher revision level", the new revision level has to be always higher
    than the old revision.
Secondly, setup the external number range in OS53.
If you use the internal number range, then remove the external number range.
Third, define the status for the change master records in transaction SM30 - V_T419S.
Change No.     Chg        Date Chg     Dist. Lock      Description
    Status         Poss
      1             x            x             ' '         Active
      2            ' '          ' '            ' '         Inactive
      3            ' '          ' '             x          Locked
Fourth, define modification parameters for the BOM in OS27.
    Fields :-
    BOM Validty Maint.               x
    EC Management Active             x
    History Requirement             ' '
    Unit Piece                      PC
The rest of the fields are blank.
If the History Requirement is tick, every time during creation of the BOM, SAP will
prompt your for an ECN number as is compulsory.
Lastly, define fields selection for routing in OP5A.
PP task lists: initial screen -> Change number -> Transaction code -> Tick Req.
Setting the Transaction code fields Required indicate that you have make the ECN number ........
Hope this will help you one of our friends gave me this

  • Request for detailed acts to upload Work center,  BOM, Routing data in LSMW

    Hello PP ANgels,
Request for detailed actions to upload Work center/Resource,  BOM, Routing/Recipe data in LSMW.
    Thanks in advance

    Sanjay,
In the forum I found that you had used some "drops", that require a password to view.
In these forums, the only links I post are public (help.sap.com) and from SAP support (service.sap.com/support).  SAP Support is mostly available only to customers and partners of SAP.  If you meet these criteria, and need a login for the SAP support site, contact the license administrator for your company's SAP licence (this is usually a Basis person).  If you cannot locate this person in your company, contact Service Marketplace directly (service.sap.com/mp).  Alternatively you can contact your local SAP Sales office and speak to your account administrator.
Maybe it would be a better idea to group all standard solutions in one place.
I expect it will be so...in Nirvana.  Here, life still entails suffering.
With respect to your detailed questions, I would have a hard time answering, I have never used recordings in LSMW to create work centers, I always use standard batch/direct input.  I suspect that the VGEXX items are the units of measure from CRHD, I suspect LARXX items are activities from CSSL, and I couldn't comment on FORXX items without doing some research.
This is the SCM PP forum.  You might get more answers posting this in the ERP PP forum SAP ERP Manufacturing - Production Planning (SAP PP) , since work centers/routings/recipes/BOMs are more or less irrelevant in SCM.
Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.

  • Bom item data - Document assignment not getting saved in table STPO

    Dear All,
As per out customer requirement, they want to display assigned drawing documents of Bom items in CS11. But it is not reflecting in cs11 eventhough we have assigned documents in Bom item detail overview Document assignment tab page. Moreover this is not getting saved in table STPO.
                   Waiting for solutions
    Thanks & Regards
    Dhananjay Kulkarni

    Please understand my customers requirement,
Presently they are assigning drawing document of each mat in material master. And if they want to see the drawing of each component of bom through Bom maintenance then they double click on component in bom, goes to mat master then additional data then document data and then drawing. In this way they need to open minimim 5 windows, which they want to make minimum 2 windows.
In bom they are having more than 300 components. This is not possible to define document as component with item category D of so many components. One more idea I given to them is to club all drawings in one document and define that document as component with item category D, but in this way they can't identify  the individual drawing with part name.
One more idea I given to them is to assign drawing document of individual component in item overview - Document assignment tab page from where they can open the drawing but it needs to open minimum 3 windows. So they are ready to assign drawing document in item overview - Document assignment tab page but they want, it should reflect in CS11 document column, from where they can easily open the drawing document.
One more thing I observed that, assigned document to item overview - Document assignment tab page is not getting saved in Table STPO. I can't see this field content in STPO, which may be the reason that it is not reflecting in CS11.
Is anything missing from Document management system?
Please think and reply friends it's Urgent.
    Thanks & Warm Regards

  • BOM Report to view BOM vaildity date

    Hi All,
Is there any standard BOM report where i can view the BOM - valid from date and vaild to date ?
    Regards,
    PSS

    Hi,
You will get Valid from date from many BOMs table both at header level and item level but the default valid to date will be 31.12.9999, and you will not get the value till you delete the BOM either at header level or at item level.
Once you delete the BOm or item within BOM then this deletion date will become vaild to date and this will be available in concerns tables.
With change number also valid to date will not be capture till you delete the BOMs ot items within the BOM with the change number.
You can only work with header items using production versions  valid from and valid to date and restrict the validity of the BOM.

  • BOM validity dates........

    Hi there,
When a new alternative BOM is created ......the vaild to date of the item level is comming same as the vaild from date.........
As my understanding the valid from date is same as the change number date but from where SAP picks the valid to date..........
    Please succor me .........
    Thanks
    Kaushik

    Hi
Actually BOM item from  date comes as todays date
and Valid from date come default as 31/12/9999
    And ECN to change BOM.
If u change BOM and change change number and try to delete item in BOM
problem occurs to date of validity.
    Hope ths helps

  • BOM Validation date

    Hi All,
In BOM creation, the validity of all the component are from current date to the max. of 31.12.9999 but I want to have
    1. Specific Duration for Compenent of a BOM and
    2. Specific Duration for that BOM
    Can it be possible?
    Sekhar

    Dear Mr.Sekhar,
1.As far I know I dont think we can fix the Valid to Date for a BOM.
2.Even Using ECM you can not fix the Valid To Date for a BOM.
3.Using with or without ECM you can change the Valid From date of a BOM while
    creation itself .
4.If you do so then the BOM will be valid only from the date which you entered
    while creation.
5.ECM is used only to track the Changes that happened for BOM items along
with the date effectivity.BOM history can be obtained.
    <b><u>If useful reward points.</u></b>

  • BOM Explosion Dates between Quotes and CIR's

    Hi All
I have inconsistencies occurring in the BOM between the Quotation and the CIR when changes occur to the BOM. The quote uses the "pricing date" to explode the BOM while the CIR uses the "delivery date". As a result they are both exploding different versions of the BOM and the CIR, which is used to drive procurement, ultimately creates purchase requ2019s for incorrect components. Has anyone experienced a similar problem and how was the explosion of components made consistent?
    Example
    Quote for Material X
    Date = 01.01.2011
    Material X BOM = Component A
                                Component B
Material X BOM is changed on 01.02.2011
                  Material X BOM = Component A
                                               Component C
    CIR copied from Quote
    CIR Delivery Date = 01.03.2011
Material X BOM on CIR = Component A
                                            Component C
Based on the quote the CIR BOM should be
                 Material X BOM = Component A
                                             Component B

system will take the  new BOM only, since on 3 rd the new BOM is valid, After MRP run system will create a PR for new BOM only
System won't copy the BOM while creation of CIR
while running MRP, system will explode the BOM based on MRP run date, system will explode the valid BOM only

  • BOM Effective Date

    Hi,
I am running into a strange problem in the BOM form. I put an effective end date of today for a component but when I post production, it still relieves the item from inventory.
Also, out of four component items for this particular FG, all but one are relieved and this is the one without an effective end date.
    Please HELP!!!!
    A/A

    Hello,
Since BOMs are maintained with history, meaning system tracks the shape of BOM changes through time,
I think you should check what type of BOM is associated to your production details.
If you are referring to discrete job, then it might be the fact that the BOM date is older than the effective end date.
In that case, you'll need to update the BOM date before performing production.\
    Hope this helps,
If it does please mark it,
    Aaron
