BOM Explosion control based on Procurement type

Gurus ,
We have a scenario where we have a Multilevel BOM . During one point of time there is a chnce that one SFG ehich is "E" type gets converted manual into an "F" type due to some practical reasons (I know F part shud not have a BOM). Users do not  delete or inactivate the BOM of this SFG(which has now become F part) .  As a consequence it impacts a report for CUSTOMS wherein a multilevel BOM is exploded for HEADER and reports all the F parts. The result expected is list of all F parts
EXAMPLE we have FG1 , with Components RM1 and SFG1 .(This SFG1 was [previosly having componets RM1,RM2 and RM3) .
Scenario 1- if SFG1 was with procurement E , then result iof report after exploding FG1 would be RM1,RM2 and RM3.
Scenario 2: If SFG1 got converted to F part , then result of report after exploding FG1 should be RM1,SFG1
Is there a way to control BOM multilevel explosion for only E parts so that BOMs for F parts donot get exploded)
Ie, BOM application etc...
THNX

THANKYOU for the solution, It worked for ME without any issues.
If you dont mind one small question..when I execute this function module in SE37 I get list of Importa parameters (fields),but do not get its descriptions. HOW TO GET THE DESCRIPTIONS in that sreen.
THANKYOU LOTSSSS

  • Sales Text control based on Order type

    Hi,
I am in process of maintaining both header level and item level texts in order to perform reports.
I found the Text deter maintain in SD--> Basic functions --> Text control and already defined the required filed. But now i want to know how to control that particular field based on Order type or even based on Sales area etc to implement that to only one channel/ order type/ Sales area.
Any one suggestion would highly appreciated.

    Hi,
    Say for example :
I am maintaining two sales order types respectively A and B. I want to newly add texts at header level and also at item level.
I found that header level we can maintain Based on Sales order types ( Like A, B etc) and successfully completed the task.
Now come to item level, text procedure assignment is based on "item category", and also i have maintained TAN item category for both order types, at the same time i want to make this new item level text only for Order type A and not B.
    Hope it makes clear.

  • No BOM explosion for sub-contract purchased materials

    Hello,
I have searched google and this forum and have not found any info on this.  Hopefully someone has run across this same situation and can help.
We do not want to have a bom explosion happen for externally procured materials (using CU51).  We are using user exit CCUX0800 (EXIT_SAPLCUKO_008) to set no_expl_ext_procurement = 'X'.   This works good, except if the material is set up for external procurement (marc-beskz = "F") and also has a special procurement (marc-sobsl) of "30".  Include LCUKOFFB says to still explode the BOM if the special procurement is "30".
Does anyone know why it does this?  We don't want the bom to explode for externally procured parts even if they are set up as subcontracting ("30").  Any way we can do this with a different user exit?
    Thank you.

    Melissa,
Since you are using Special proc 30 ( subcontracting) system assumes BOM components will be supplied by purchaser.
When a Subcontract purchase order for subcontracted material is cut on vendor, the components of the subcontrated product is typically supplied by buyer to the vendor. Hence MRP(system ) typically explodes BOM to plan for those compoments in buyer's plant.
If however you do not want BOM to be exploded &/or components planned in buyer's plant you can set that in BOM of subcontract material at the component level. In the BOM component item detail screen (under tab status/long text) there is a field called Material provision indicator. Set that to L(material provided by vendor).
This should prevent planning of components (or explosion of BOM) for the subcontract material ( with settings F, 30).
Hope this clarifies & solves your issue. else please come back with further questions.
    Thanks,
    Ram

  • Two IBR instances based on doc type.

Hi, I've got two IBR instances (11g) on differents machines (one on Unix and the other on Windows), and they works fine with UCM. But what I want is that UCM choose the IBR in order to send documents, and the choice must be based on the de doc type. For example, if it's a MS Office file, I want this document to be sended to Windows IBR. In other case, documents goes to Unix IBR.
Could this be possible to do?
    Thanks.

    Hi Sai,
Documents can be viewed and controlled based on document types etc. While you search documents all documents will be displayed.
If the user doesn't av the authorization for a particular document type when he tries to double click on document it shows an error message as  " No authorization for that document type".
CV04N:Find documents is a std report where you cannot change it.

  • BOM Explosion - special procurement  type 52 (collective order)

In BOM explosion, special procurement type -> collective order (52) for the item  is considered as phantom assembly. I wish to know the business reason for this. Any help please ??

    hi Janardhan,
phantom assembly is the assembly which is not kept in stock rather it consumes directly.
Use of phantom assemblies are as below
Phantom assemblies are assemblies that have their own product structure, but whose assembly does not actually physically exist. The components of the phantom assembly are incorporated directly in the superordinate product. The product structure of the superordinate product contains a reference to the phantom assembly.
example - A car with music system.
During backflush, only the goods movement for the phantom assembly components are posted. The phantom assembly is marked as backflushed but does not trigger any goods movement.
Experts pl correct me if i'm wrong.

  • Procurement type X & price control

    Dear Gurus,
    Please note the following scenario:
There is one material (HALB) having procurement type X. Now I think valuation class for the material can be kept 7900 but the price contrl should be the V (moving avaerage price) since we are procuring outside as well as manufacturing in house.
    Your opinion please.
    Regards,
    SAP CONS

    Hi,
As per my opinion, it should be S ( Standard Price) as price control even though your procurement type is X since as per standard SAP recommendations Standard price is recommended for Semifinished & Finished products even though your procurement type is X and you may procure it from outside.
However, you have not specified that procuring outside is simply buying or subcontracting because if it is subcontracting then in that case also you may be providing components to vendor i.e. you may be creating subcontracing BOM and receiving final products.
Also it is recommended to keep price of salable products i.e. SFG / FG since in case of moving avg. price there are chances of huge variances & impacts on your product costing.
So I will suggest go for standard price. However, wait for other experts opinion as well.

  • Procurement type Vs Price Control

    Dear All,
We are maintaining price control as V for procurement type F, and S for E.
Is there any possibility, for automatic change in price control when the changing the procurement type from F to E.
    Regards,
    Venkat.

    Hello Venkat,
Price control is for Material master, but not for the procurement type. Once you set the price control in the material master (i.e. in Accounting view of the material master) system will calculate the stock value (i.e. for internal stock updation by value purpose) in the material master.
As you said, material price control is V (i.e. MAP): Moving average price.
    And here,
F ---> an Account assignment of Customer Individual requirement
S --> Thirdparty Item category (i.e.TP is a type of procurement)
E --> an Account assignment for Order
It is not possible to change the price control automatically when you change the procurement type manually. Because the price control (i.e. V or S is possible) setup is done at Master data configuration (i.e. Material type configuration). But document (i.e. creation of PO) level it is not possible.
Suggestion: Changing the price control of a material master always is not advisable. Because there will be lot of impact on Inventory and as well as Finance. And moreover it is a configuration setup for material type (i.e. property of a material or material master) in sap. Hence it is not possible at document level.
    Hope this will clarifies you,
    Reward, if it helps,

  • Procurement type in bom

    Hi all,
Can we find out, whether material is procured externally or internally manufactured  from <b>BOM</b>.Please reply urgently.
    regards,

    Hi Tiwari,
Just double click on the component,in CS03.This takes you to the material
master views, where in you can check whether its procurement type is F or F30 or
E.there is no other means wherein you can check directly in BOM.

  • Maximum Number of Components per BOM(Per procurement type,if possible)

    Dear Colleagues,
I have been told that certain materials belonging to a  specific procurement type, have their BOM set that it allows only up to 100 components to be built within it.I had a god look on IMG under most relevant categories and can't find where this is defined in...so I'm wondering if you have ever had the request to look at the maximum number of components that could be built under a specific procurement type of material? Generally speaking, where you could define maximum no of components per BOM.At what level this is usualy set up?
    All help,greatly appreciated,
    PAPJ1.

    Thanks Dario.
Allegedly,I have been told that this is set to 100 components per BOm of that particular procurement type,so I need to change it 200 (if that's true and it is allowing me to do so)

  • Control Authorisation Access based on Planning type in Flexible SOP

    hi,
How can we control MC93  and MC94 access based on Planning type for different users?i.e only certain Planning types allowed for one user.

    Hello
I would like to do the same...
So far the only thing I can find is enhancement MCP20005 which allows you to extend authorization check for planning.  The planning type is available in this function module and if you return subrc ne 0 authorization is denied.
    Hope you find this helpful.

  • BOM Explosion based on Production Order Creation

    Hi PP Guru,
My client wants the BOM Explosion date to be based on Production Order creation date. Could you help to advise how to set-up this requirement?
I have showed them these possible System Configuration in BOM explosion, but none of these options are applicable to their current business practice.
    <OPPQ> BOM Explosion:
         BOM explosion number/order start date
    1     Order start date
    2     Order finish date
3     BOM explosion number/order start date
4     BOM explosion number/order finish date
    Looking forward to you reply.
    thanks,
    John

    Hi Sundaresan,
Thanks for your reply.  So do you think there's any other way to fulfill the client's requirement?  I was thinking to do the "PP Master Data" instead, in order to choose the date of explosion.
    Actually the scenario is this:
Initially the Material XXXXXX has a valid BOM on 03.01.2011 to 12.31.9999, but then, some changes has been made, maybe the user has changed the component or added new component using 04.01.2011 to 12.31.9999 as validity date.
For example, the user created the Production Order (manually in CO01 or from Planned Order conversion) on 03.20.2011 and the Order Star date is 04.01.2011, so the system will copy the updated BOM which is valid on 04.01.2011 to 12.31.9999 (based on Order Start date).
However, the client wants to explode the previous BOM instead (03.01.2011 to 12.31.9999).
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    John

  • No Bom Explosion for Fert material

I try to create a BOM where a A1 material(FERT) is link to 3 raw material, A, B and C. Enter the qty in MD61 independent requirement, after that i tried to run MRP and found out that there is no requirement/PR created for the 3 raw materials, only the A1 has the indep requirement. seems there is not BOM explosion.
After that i try to create B1 material(SEMI) is link to 3 raw materials as well. But the 3 raws material able to show the requirement/PR after the MPR run.
Am i miss out any step in the config for the material type? or may be other steps?

    Dear ,
MRP will explode BOM  for FERT or HALB which has valid BOM , based on the following set up :
1.In MRP4 view of FERT/HALB , keep BOM Selection method -Blank or 1 .If you have Production Version with valid Lot size , Valididt dates (To/From ) , then keep the BOM selection method as 2/3.
In case of Blank , MRP will  selt the BOM as per the Qty or BOM lot size ( Valid Lot Size-TO/From -CS02-BOM Header )
In case of 2/3 -System will  Check the Production Version Validdity or Lot size , select the PV and explode .
2.In OPPQ-MRP Plant parametrs -Keep BOM Explosion indicator as Blank -BOM explosion method /order start date .
3.Keep MRP Dep.Req filed in MRP4 vewi of FERT /HALB as Blank ( meand you want to plan the dependent ofr FERT/HALB-BOM Compoenet -a,b,c  etc )
4.All the material (FERT/RAW/HALB) should have porper MRP1-MRP4 view parameters  like MRP Type -PD , Procurement Type E-In house /F-External procured item .
5.All the material should be Block for Procurement in Basic Data1 -X plant status as 01
6.All of them should have Planning File Entry in MDRE/MD20/MDAB
    7.Run MRP in MD02-2,1,3,3,2,NETCH
Hope this is clear .Check Point 1 to Point 4 frist and try

  • BOM Explosion needed on PO and/or Delivery for Stock Transfer PO Process

    Good afternoon,
I have been researching the SDN and web for a solution to my problem to no avail so far.
The business problem I need to solve is the requirement for our STPO process to explode certain BOM's that are transfered from one company/plant to another company/plant in order to record batch/serial # component information by the delivering plant on the delivery and verification of the batch/serial # in the receiving plant during MIGO processing of the delivery.  This is needed by our Service Mgmt department in order to track servicable items within the Finished Good (medical devices industry).
It appears on the SDN that a BOM can not be exploded on a non-Subcontracting PO (which would be ideal for us), but barring this problem, we are trying to have the BOM explode in the Delivery created from the STPO via the VL10B transaction.
The STPO generates a Delivery doc with type NLCC and item category NLC.  I have maintained the material master for the BOM material to have an Item Category Group of ERLA, and I have modified Item Category Determination in configuration in Logistics Execution for deliveries to include ERLA, usage V, and NLC as default item category.  But, the deliveries generated from the STPO still do not explode, like what normally happens if the delilvery of the BOM was created from a standard Order.
The components for the BOM need to be displayed on the Delivery (if not the STPO), so the cleark can record the Batch/Serial #'s for each component.  Then when the receiving plant posts the Goods Receipt for the delivery a user exit we have (based on movement type and material document code) builds a Service Mgmt table that is then processed to De-install the BOM and components from the former plant and install the BOM and components at the receiving plant (and then subsequently at the ultimate customer's location when a normal sale is made), generating a new Functional Location.
Has anyone here had to do anything like this before?  Would any of you have any ideas on how this BOM explosion might work on the PO or Delivery?
    Thanks in advance.
    Scott.
