BOM Explosion for MRP Area

Dear Expert,
I have doubt regarding BOM explosion for MRP Area. This doubt is triggered when performing MD01, as result I do not find the dependent requirement in MD04 for my FG. I have maintained the BOM through CS61 and MRP area for all component, I understand that only component level system is taking into account MRP area (storage location). FYI before maintaining all components to MRP area, the BOM explosion was successful exploded. Your advice is appreciated.
Best regards,
Mahnansa

Dear,
Please check the Explosion control in Customizing, Transaction OMIW.
Try to explode the BOM in CS11 , CS12 or CS13 if it is working there in curret date then chack the planning file entry in MD21.
You need to convert the planning file entery at MRP area in OM0F.
Also note the dependent requirement is not generated in the corresponding MRP area to which the production storage location in the material master has been not assigned for the data of the MRP area.

  • BOM Explosion for Multiple Process Orders

    Hi,
I hope someone can assist me with the following: Is there a report I can run or transaction I can do to have BOM explosion for multiple Process Orders? I would like to input process orders for a week and see the BOM details per PO.
    Thanks

    Dear Sukendar,
1.For this requirement you have to go for a Z report and you can give the Functional Spec's to prepare
this report to your ABAP consultant.Prepare the input format, logic of the program and the output format.
In the logic part you can make use of this Functional Modules's CSAP_MAT_BOM_READ or
    CSEP_MAT_BOM_READ  or CS_BOM_EXPLOSION   or CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2 .
2.Using CEWB helps you to identify all the material that's having the BOM,but here the report does not
shows you the level by level by BOM for a FERT.
    Check and revert back.

  • BOM explosion for component in ECC which are relevant for planning in APO

    Hi ,
as we assign materials the MRP type X0 with the MRP procedure X (without MRP, with BOM explosion) which are relevant to APO, so if i have BOM under this item then how this below level Items will be plan in ECC....?
as we are excluding the component from planning so how the below level will be plan .....?
    Regards

    Dear SCM APO 22 ,
Answer lies in your question only.
as the assembly is relevant to be planned in APO but it will be exploded in MRP and the lower level component will be planned in R/3 only if required.
Only teh assembly which have MRP type X0 will be planned in APO.

  • BOM explosion in MRP for non-stock material

    Dear friends,
I have a non-stock(bom item category 'N')  service material setup as a component in my production BOM, which during MRP run, should create a Planned order or Purchase requisition for that non-stock component. But, when I run MRP for the top-level material, it doesn't create any requirement for that service material, while all other stock material(Bom item category L), it generated dependant requirements.
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks
    Suri

    Dear Suri,,
    Please go through this.
<b><u>Non-Stock Items</u></b>  Use this item category if you want to enter a
material that is not kept in stock before use, and that is only procured for a
specific planned order or production order.
The material is only rarely required for a custom-made product and is used
directly in the product as a purchased part.
    <u><b>Before you start</b></u>
You can enter a non-stock item either with or without a material master. If you
enter a non-stock item without a material master, you must enter a description.
For non-stock items, you have to maintain purchasing data in the bill of material.
You enter the following materials as non-stock items because the quantities are
not updated in the material master record:
o     Materials with a material type that supports configuration
o     Pipeline materials, which can be taken from a pipeline at any time
    <u><b>
    Special functions</b></u>
The following functions are supported for non-stock items
    •     You maintain purchasing data for non-stock items in the bill of material.
    •     In the planning run, the system generates purchase requisitions
instead of dependent requirements for components that are procured directly.
When you configure your R/3 System for MRP, you can define whether direct
procurement is triggered by the planning run or by production order management.
    •     Product costing processes take valuation data from the BOM item.
The system determines the release strategy on the basis of the price data you
enter. The material group is required to produce a purchase requisition.

  • BOM Explosion in MRP runs for sub-contracting PO

    Hello Experts,
We have sub- contracting Purchase order in business scenario.
Subcontracting PO is required to be considered as demand for MRP. As I have checked PO is showing in MD04, after MRP run using transaction code
    MD02 subcontracting BOM not exploding.
Sub contacting PO raised on “X” procurement type material, PR is required on BOM item “F” Procurement type
Please suggest what all special setting is required as master data & configuration data.
    Thanks in advance!!!

    Hi,
In the header or parent material (the material that is being produced bu your subcontractor) you have to maintain the following data:
    Procurement type = F
    Special Proc Type = 30
    MRP Type = PD
Lot Size, Minimum Lot Size, Rounding Value: Enter what is convinient for your business.
Be sure you have a BOM (CS01)
Create a Production version indicating the BOM (C223)
Enter Selection Method 3 in the MRP4 view of the material master
Create an Info Record (type Subcontracting).. (ME11)
    Create a Source List (ME01)
Run the MRP and check MD04
    Kind Regards,

  • BOM explosion while MRP run

    hi all
I have a FERT for which raw materials are assigned in the BOM. but while running MRP, the BOM is not being exploded and the list doesnt show the raw materials.
I have checked in the Overall maintenance of the plant parameters in MRP in SPRO and the required paramenters are maintained. The scenario is MTS - strategy 10.but still the BOM is not exploded.
    Could anyone solve my query
    Thank you in advance
    chandra

    Hi Chandra,
Could you please check if there was an exception message "50 or 52"? If so then it can be beacuse for the BOM explosion date system is not able to get a BOM.
If there were no exception messages then check in MRP4 view of the FERT material for dependent requirement defination. This should be blank.
    Hope this helps..

  • No BOM explosion for sub-contract purchased materials

    Hello,
I have searched google and this forum and have not found any info on this.  Hopefully someone has run across this same situation and can help.
We do not want to have a bom explosion happen for externally procured materials (using CU51).  We are using user exit CCUX0800 (EXIT_SAPLCUKO_008) to set no_expl_ext_procurement = 'X'.   This works good, except if the material is set up for external procurement (marc-beskz = "F") and also has a special procurement (marc-sobsl) of "30".  Include LCUKOFFB says to still explode the BOM if the special procurement is "30".
Does anyone know why it does this?  We don't want the bom to explode for externally procured parts even if they are set up as subcontracting ("30").  Any way we can do this with a different user exit?
    Thank you.

    Melissa,
Since you are using Special proc 30 ( subcontracting) system assumes BOM components will be supplied by purchaser.
When a Subcontract purchase order for subcontracted material is cut on vendor, the components of the subcontrated product is typically supplied by buyer to the vendor. Hence MRP(system ) typically explodes BOM to plan for those compoments in buyer's plant.
If however you do not want BOM to be exploded &/or components planned in buyer's plant you can set that in BOM of subcontract material at the component level. In the BOM component item detail screen (under tab status/long text) there is a field called Material provision indicator. Set that to L(material provided by vendor).
This should prevent planning of components (or explosion of BOM) for the subcontract material ( with settings F, 30).
Hope this clarifies & solves your issue. else please come back with further questions.
    Thanks,
    Ram

  • PP BOM explosion during MRP

    Hello all,
During MRP, BOMs for dependent assemblies are supposed to be exploded.  I am running MRP in the background.  Until recently, MRP is exploding only the first level BOMs such that subsequent assemblies are not exploded.  Is there a setting I can check to ensure that BOM is doing a multi-level explosion.  MRP set to NETCH.  Thank you for your input.
    Joy T.

    Dear Joy,
1.check whether the BOM status is 1 for the dependent assemblies in the BOM header.
2.In case if you have used change numbers with release key for creating the BOM for those dependent assemblies, then check
in CC02 whether the release key is set.
3.Ensure that the MRP type is not ND.
Also check this thread whether this can help you,

  • No Bom Explosion for Fert material

I try to create a BOM where a A1 material(FERT) is link to 3 raw material, A, B and C. Enter the qty in MD61 independent requirement, after that i tried to run MRP and found out that there is no requirement/PR created for the 3 raw materials, only the A1 has the indep requirement. seems there is not BOM explosion.
After that i try to create B1 material(SEMI) is link to 3 raw materials as well. But the 3 raws material able to show the requirement/PR after the MPR run.
Am i miss out any step in the config for the material type? or may be other steps?

    Dear ,
MRP will explode BOM  for FERT or HALB which has valid BOM , based on the following set up :
1.In MRP4 view of FERT/HALB , keep BOM Selection method -Blank or 1 .If you have Production Version with valid Lot size , Valididt dates (To/From ) , then keep the BOM selection method as 2/3.
In case of Blank , MRP will  selt the BOM as per the Qty or BOM lot size ( Valid Lot Size-TO/From -CS02-BOM Header )
In case of 2/3 -System will  Check the Production Version Validdity or Lot size , select the PV and explode .
2.In OPPQ-MRP Plant parametrs -Keep BOM Explosion indicator as Blank -BOM explosion method /order start date .
3.Keep MRP Dep.Req filed in MRP4 vewi of FERT /HALB as Blank ( meand you want to plan the dependent ofr FERT/HALB-BOM Compoenet -a,b,c  etc )
4.All the material (FERT/RAW/HALB) should have porper MRP1-MRP4 view parameters  like MRP Type -PD , Procurement Type E-In house /F-External procured item .
5.All the material should be Block for Procurement in Basic Data1 -X plant status as 01
6.All of them should have Planning File Entry in MDRE/MD20/MDAB
    7.Run MRP in MD02-2,1,3,3,2,NETCH
Hope this is clear .Check Point 1 to Point 4 frist and try

  • Bom explosion after MRP (variant configuration)

    Hi Experts,
I'm facing a problem here, for unknow undentified reason until now, after I run the MD50 with a configuration material, I cannot get a explosion of the itens. This is happening in 4 cases here and I cannot get any good result, I check dependencies rules and everything and no success
Does anyone know waht can I do?
    regards
    Oliver

    HI,
If a BOM is not exploded possible reasons could be
    1.  Validity period of BOM
    2.  BOM Status should be active for MRP.
    3.  BOM Components should be relevant to production.
    4.  Check whether you have defined the selection ID for the
priority of BOM Usage in SPRO define order of priority of
         BOM Usage.

  • BOM explosion for variant material

    Hi Gurus!
I created a material variant, when type match is done, the configurable material is changed for the variant properly, in this case, BOM explosion is done in the sales order and components are shown properly (I did this thought customizing).
When I try to sale the variant material directly (without configurable material and type match), the system do not show the BOM explosion.
I need the BOM explosion in the sales order for invoicing proposes.
    Can anyone help me?.
    Thanks!!.
    J. Carlos.

    Hi,
To do a requirements explosion for a configured material, you must maintain the data in the
material master record and link a BOM to the configured material.
If the material of the material variant is the same as the configurable material, the link
    is already there.
You can either create a BOM especially for the configured material (perhaps using the copy from
function) or allocate the configured material to the BOM for the configurable product. The second
option is the more common solution.
If you allocate the configured material to the BOM for the configurable product, the BOM for the
configurable product is interpreted and exploded according to the characteristic values assigned.
The interpretation includes the processing of selection conditions and the setting of field values in
BOM items according to the relevant actions.
Allocating a Configured Material to a BOM: From the bills of material menu, choose Bills of material   Material BOM   Alloc. config.
    mat.   Create.

  • BOM Explosion IN MRP RUN

When I run MRP BOM Explosion doesnot take place for certain F parts. This is REM scenario.Planning strategy is 40.I have already checked Planning file entries.
    It is OK.Please guide.

    Hi,
Pl. check in T.code oppq (plant parameters), if you have mentioned the BOM explosion ID. or in T.code oppq (mrp group).
Also check in the material master, mrp 4 view,
    the bom selection id.
whether it is based on lot size or based on production version.
You can cross check using t.code<b> cs11 or cs12</b> (bom explosion).

  • Planning file entry for MRP Area

    Hi,
To create planning file entry in the background at plant level we use Transaction MDAB. I would like to know that if MRP area is active than whats the T-code for planning file entry in the background at mrp area level?? To create manualy in the Trx md20 we have that option to select mrp area & plant. So please let me know yours view on this.
    Thanks & Regards
    Kundan Kumar

    Dear,
If planning file entry are there on plant level then system will convert same on MRp area level. Have you check that tables? (DBVM)
For planning file entry at MRP area lvel , use report RMDBVM00 (transaction OM0F) to convert the existing table MDVM with the planning file entries into table DBVM. The conversion is also described in MRP Customizing: TA OPP1 -> Planning File Entries.
There is no need of MDAB just check your entry in MD21 take a MRP run at MRP area lvel and come back if any problem.
If you want to schedule it on MRP area lvel then use the MDRE or use program RMMDVM10 and in variant here select the MRP Area redio button.
