BOM for consume, PR agnst the equip?

The equip BOM materails which is created by us for 1 equipment. Example Equip: pump
Bom are : Casing, Bearings, Gland rope etc
after some days the same equip needs a materials. for this we have created the orders and we need the bearing agst that. i would like to assign the component thro bom searching agst this equip. But iam not finding the way .
Also while Pr creation agst this equipment how i can go and create the spares for this?
Where we can cross check the spares availablity for this equip.which level Bom using for pm Parts except the maintenance processing creation, technical analysis?

Selection of BOM for a purchase order based on Vendor

Hello Gurus,
We have one material which when ordered from two different vendors should have different components. To make this simple and easy for person creating Purchase Order how should it be implemented?
How should we create BOM that it automatically picks up the right components when a Vendor is chosen in the Purchase Order? We don't want to create two different materials and different BOMs under it. As it is for same product. Please give guidance on this.

Hi Hari,
Read the below SAP documentation for the mode of selection of BOM:
- Selection by order quantity, the system chooses the alternative BOM into whose lot size range the order quantity falls. The lot size range and area of validity of the BOM apply.
- Selection by explosion date, the system chooses the alternative BOM into whose area of validity the date falls according to the setting BOM via dates.
- Selection by production version, the system chooses the alternative BOM defined in the valid production version. The lot size range and area of validity of the production version apply.
- Selection only by production version, the system chooses the alternative BOM defined in the valid production version. The lot size range and area of validity of the production version apply.
If no production version is found, no production orders or process orders can be created.
So based on the above you can clearly understand that it is not possible to have BOM's tied to the Vendor. What you can do as a work around is, i.e. before creating the sub-contracting PO :
1. Change the lot size to ensure the BOM you want gets picked
2. Change the validity dates
3. Change the status of the BOM in header, i.e. make the BOM which you do not want as Inactive
4. As mentioned by you, have different materials & BOM for them.

How to find component details for the equipment BOM

I have a requirement ..I need to find all the component numbers for the equipment BOM. Can anybody pls help me in finding a table containing this information. I check in tcode IB02,IB03 but I am not able to find the database table containing this information.

Hi, Main table for equipment BOM is EQST. You can get the details from STPO (Item) and STKO (Header). You can use the FM CSAI_BOM_READ. Here u need to pass the header details and CSIN-STLTY = E " Equipment BOM.

Reservation and requisition for material in MO from the equipment BOM only

Dear all,
i want to create material reservation and requisition from the equipment BOM only which is maintain against that equipment ( in the 'list' tab of component).and which material is not in that BOM, system should not allow to create material reservation and requisition of that material in maintenance order.

You could try making the material and material text fields display-only via field selection.
Otherwise, try user-exit CNEX0026 (general inspection of material) via TCode SMOD.

EMI Calculation for calculating the cost of the equipment or material sold

Hi gurus...
Its a typical CS scenario... here.. Client is selling a product to the customer. The customer makes a contract with the client has he will pay in EMI option.
So the total cost of one EMI will calculate as : product cost + Interest for the EMI + Service Charge + Spares consumed + Other cost ( labour at customer site) + Profit
how we can include in SAP..
Can we do in general pricing procedure using condition types or...

I say, if i sell a equipment for 100$, by customer will pay in EMI... so for each month i have to calculate the amount he has to pay..

Principle amount - 10$ + Interest 10% + Service Charge 2% + any consumables + any service + Profit (Margin is 10%)...
for this i have to do in CS....
How we can define the installments for each amount...
There is a option in sales order --- Reg periodic billing... but how to calulate using condition types and pricing procedure...

In subcontracting the component quantity ( 543) consumed more than the BOM quantity while doing GR, so please let me know what may be the possible reasons for the same.

may be the suncontractor needed more than the BOM quantiy.It is the case of overconsumption of components.

It is worth checking the actual size of the shared pool e.g.
select pool,sum(bytes)/1024/1024/1024 from v$sgastat group by pool;
the parameters you ahve posted suggest you have set a minimum but no maximum, so it could very large.
Next up is looking for unhared SQL i.e.
select column1 from some_table where column2='A_VALUE';
select column1 from some_table where column2='Another_Value';
where the code should be using binds instead of literals for security and performance reasons, a simple way to find this is to look in v$sql for sql having the same plan_hash_value but different sql_Ids and compare the sql_fulltext of each statement.
Also a possibility is sql with many child cursors, this is trickier as the cause may vary and may not be easy to fix. check th econtents of v$sql for sql that have high values in the child_number column anmd investigate the contents of v$sql_shared_cursor for the reason there are multiple child cursors.

Adding alternate component in the same BOM for 2 level BOM setup

I have a BOM with the following setups -
BOM_A components are BOM_B, Comp_A1, Comp_A2
BOM_B components are Comp_B1, Comp_B2
The need is to have an a BOM with components Comp_B1, Comp_B2, Comp_C1. if I create this as an Alt of BOM_B, how can I use this alternate in BOM_A?
Can anyone please let me know if there is a way to specify the alternate of BOM components in multi level BOM?

Why this is required at BOM Level?
If BOM_B (comp_B1,comp_B2 & comp_C1) is Alt. bom & WIP job completed using this Alt. BOM then syste will take care / consider valuation as per Alt. BOM for first level bom (BOM_A) WIP job.

Mass upload of BOM for Equipment & Functional Locations

I have an existing system with Functional Locations & Superior Functional Locations, Equipments with Superior equipments. I need to update the BOM for all (most) of these. Can we do it through LSMW or any other Mass update transactions?? Please guide me with the process.

OCM for Revesion level in the Material Master and for the BOM

I use My SAP 6.
I have implemented OCM. It's used for 2 things:
- The first is for revision level in the Material Master.
- the second is for the BOM.
Today, the customizing is good, it's work.
My need is to have the same change number for those 2 evolutions: for the material master evolution and for the BOM evolution.
It's possible, and how?

I do not think this is possible. Service level is usually used for safety stock planning.

You may change the Inspection charecterstucs and save the Task List.
After that u have to reassign that task list to the Lot. for that Trasaction code is QAC3 give the lot no. and enter
, without doing anything save it. now go to QA02 and reassign the task list and sampling procedure. and save it.
Now u may do RR as per ur new charecterstics.
