Bom for lsmw
Hi friends,
I want to upload the bom through lsmw. I have created two sourct structures.
1. Header level
2 low level is item level.
How to assign the excel sheets for these two structures.
Please explain the steps for uploading the bom
Please help me on this

You Can use LSMW object by Direct INPUT method In which Sap ECC 6.00 has Standard Programme for uplaoding of BOM.Details are as below

Method:0002--->Change
Program Name:--->RCSBI010

Problem while Creating BOM using LSMW Direct Input
Hi all ,
I am trying to create the BOM Using LSMW Direct Input Method .
I am getting problem at step 9 that is Read Data.
It is able to read the values from header and item files .
but it is not able to write , so the Written is 0 always .
I put the field names first in the flat file and correcponding values below it with tab delimited.
Please let me know where the Problem would be.... I am trying this from long time ..

just follow the usual steps of LSMW for the t code cs01 (creation of BOM).
but i think u need to have two source structure for the header and the line item (child screen). i mean u have to create two flat files viz BOM header and BOM line item. then u need to give logical connection between these two..

Recording in LSMW is similar as SHDB.
in LSMW after you give Project-Subproject and Object.
1)Go to-> Maintain Object Attributes -> double click
2)Press Display/Change Button at top left to make editable mode.
3)Select radiobuton -> Batch Input -> Give Recording name say Z_mm01
4) Click the Recording Overview boton on right -> Give TCode which u want to record....

Bom for production order and subcontracting
Dear guru ,
I have a finished material that can be use both produced in-house and procured externally with subcontracting.
Now i use one only bom with usage 1 (production ) for the two process.
I have a problem for one component.
For subcontracting i must consider this component as a phantom (with explosion of its components) , instead for the in-house production I must consider this component as a normal stock item.
Can I use only one bom or I must create an alternative bom for manage the two cases ?

In my understanding this may create discrepancies during the material transfer from own stock to the vendor and also during
month end checking process.
What's the problem of maintaining that component as a stock item?why it should be treated as a phantom only for sub-
contracting?
Even if you are maintaining 2 different alternative BOM's for the final product one with the component as a normal assembly and
the next one as a phantom,you will be facing issues during costing purpose and material inventory also.

How to enable purchasing tab in BOM, while defining bom for a item
dear gurus,
while defining a bom for a item, there ae various tabs like main, effectivity, OM etc. among that purchasing tab is in disabled state. how to enable that.
pls provide setup and whats actual use of that.

For a phantom assy the special procurement key in the material master should be 50. You have done the right thing.
But in the BOM of FERT please remove the phantome assy Off indicator. Once you maintained the special procurement key 50 in material master, the phantom indicator will be acutomatically set in the high level bom.
Hence if you activate the phantom assy off then this will override the phantom indicator

Adding alternate component in the same BOM for 2 level BOM setup
Hello,
I have a BOM with the following setups -
BOM_A components are BOM_B, Comp_A1, Comp_A2
BOM_B components are Comp_B1, Comp_B2
The need is to have an a BOM with components Comp_B1, Comp_B2, Comp_C1. if I create this as an Alt of BOM_B, how can I use this alternate in BOM_A?
Can anyone please let me know if there is a way to specify the alternate of BOM components in multi level BOM?

Can you please specify the exact business requirement.
Why this is required at BOM Level?
If BOM_B (comp_B1,comp_B2 & comp_C1) is Alt. bom & WIP job completed using this Alt. BOM then syste will take care / consider valuation as per Alt. BOM for first level bom (BOM_A) WIP job.

How to create group bom for multiple plants with different company codes
Dear all,
In my current scenario we have 5 Company codes with a plant with each company. The same kind of materials exist in all the 5 plants, so what i want is when i create any BOM, that BOM has to extend in all the company codes, as with GROUP BOM i can able to extend the same in only one company code.
So how to do this?

BhushanFor that first extend all the materials to all the plants... In one plant create a BOM for the material..
In all other polants in CS01, click COpy from .. There you mention the matreial and the plant in which the BOm is alerady available..

How to Generate Diffrent Subcontarcting BOM for Diff. Vendor in MRP
Hi Experts,
Ii have query @ how to generate to Diffrent Subcontracting BOM for Diffrent Vendor for same material in one plant in MRP(Material Requiremnt Planning)
Example: I have X Finished material having 3 Vendor with their Quota Arrangement with 40,30 & 30% quota. This 3 vendors have diffrent BOM,i.e. Alternative BOM. how shall i generate Diifrent PR with Diffrent Subcontracting BOM for according Vendor.
Pls tell me procedure for this.

You can acheive your requirement using Production Version in Material Master MRP 4 view , production versions tab.
Create three different production version as below and assign the same to the Vendor in Vendor Info record Tcode : ME11 / ME12 :
Prod Version Alt BOM For Vendor
01 01 XXXXXX
02 02 YYYYY
03 03 ZZZZZZ
Assign the Production Version to corresponding vendor in Vendor Info Record.
Goto t.code : ME11 /ME12 put the Vendor (say XXXXXX), Material No , Purchase Org and Plant and seeect the sub contract vendor radio button and press enter.
System will take you to CIR : General Data screen , Select the Purch Org Data 1 and enter the Production version "01" number in the field "Version" save and comeout.
Similarly do it for the other two vendors YYYYYY -02 and ZZZZZZ -03 .
Now if you create a sub contracting P.O system will propose the Alt BOM 1 for the Vendor XXXXXX , Alt BOM 2 for the vendor "YYYYYY" and Alt BOM 3 for the vendor "ZZZZZZ".

TuhinUnfortunately, there is no tool delivered with SAP BW that provides the ability to compare objects across the landscape. There are some third-party tools that provide this functionality.
You could create your own by create an ABAP program, or several ABAP programs, using the following BAPI Function Modules to get the details of the objects in each environment and then do a comparison:

Use of Alternate Components in BOM for Production
Hi Experts,
We implement for a customer who are manufacturers of Electronic Products.
There are possibilities of producing a Finished Products with an Alternate Child Parts some times.
Is it possible to automate this.
More examplified below.
XYZ is a Finished Product whose Components are A, B, C.
To produce the same XYZ, the components used may be
A1, B, C or
A, B, C1 or
A1, B, C1. So there are binary concept number of combinations.
Since the components are more in number & there are chain alternates (i.e. if one changes other has to be changed), it is not practically possible to maintain many number of BOMs for a single Finished Product.
Is there any way implement this scenario upfront.

SAP does not have such type of functionality we can make one bill of material for one finished Item.
Manually:-
You may try like make big bill of material ,which have all alternative materials ,raw material in single BOM.
and whenever you make production order delete that materials which you are not going to use that production.
Import from excel file:-
If we want to make combination then goto excel and import it by Data transfer workbench(DTW)
i am working in same industry , i m using same in excel make all combination and varified it engg. then import in Bill of materials as well production order.
for import i have made .bat file AND end user put the excel file in predefined location and click on .bat file it execute and all data import in SAP with using manually DTW.
