BOM in Raw Material PO
Dear All,
I want to attach the BOM in regular PO (No Subcontracting, No production order), so that my vendor would be able to see the specification of child parts.
Is there any way for the same as standard SAP support BOM only in case of subcontract PO.
Hi Ash,
As per my knowledge, Standard SAP Does not supports BOM untill it is SUB-Contracting (As you yourself has suggested) but if the need is only to keep the vendor inform about the BOM, then you can use the PO Text.
You can Cut-Copy-Paste all the material and use it.
Hope It helps.''

Assign documentation as BOM item in a BOM of Raw material
Hi Everyone,
My customer used to assign documentation as BOM item... even for raw material in their old ERP system, that means for raw material, they will also have BOM, the BOM item will be documentation.
For SAP, normally we assign the documetation to the material master data. If we also assign the documetation as BOM item for raw material BOM... will there be any impact for the other business process?
Thanks,
BinHy,
Documents are not play any crucial parts in PP Scenarios.I think it is good practice to assign Document to the Materials or BOM.Its provides one type of physical proof/Identity to the Material and Explains the BOM details.
You can assign Documents to the Raw material as below.
- Create BOM of Raw material through CS01 and assign Documents over there (Document screen - Item category D).Then assign Raw material to the BOM of Product. You will find Assembly tick for that material in BOM which represent the Documents attached to that Material.

MTO - RAW MATERIAL COST ESTIMATE
In an MTO scenario I am using configurable material I run order BOM cost estimate after sales order creation and as a result value gets updated against EK02 condition type in sales order.
For order Bom cost estimate system picks values from material master of raw materials in BOM.
Raw material has moving price in material master, I want to know
1)what price system picks from material master for cost estimate MOVING AVERAGE PRICE, STANDARD PRICE in accounting view
2)Do we run cost estimate for raw materials in MTO, and if so then at what time.hello sir,
plz help me
ne production order shows for cost element of cost of finished goods amt shows vey high the std price in material master is 71 and qty is 140 but it is not showing with this multiplication it is in lacs.
in the production order the target cost is zero and total actal cost in lacs and total variance percentage is 0 only but as per knowledge no variance know but if u calculate 140*.71 it should come less amt as per material maser but in production order i t shows high amount
twe found that they changed the price after GR is done now we want to post JV correct?what is the procedure to post JV in the current month .
the entry at the time of G done with high value is
Finshed goods a/c dr(balance sheet item) 89 post key
COGS cr (p&L item) 91(post key)
now what is the rectification entry

BOM Creation for different FG from 1 Raw material
Hi Experts,
In my company I have 1 scenario where Sheet is a Raw material. After doing operations in 1 sheet (RM) 10 Finished Product are produced.
So please can anybody help me to create BOM for FG as from 1 same Sheet (RM) 10 different Fgs are produced.
Regards,
UttamUttam,
Do you always produce 10 different FG's from single raw material sheet? or it is just a possibility to use same raw material in different FG's.
You can maintain independ BOM with sheet materiila as a compoenent . hope you have exact measure of qty you need in each BOM.
If all the FG's are produced together then go with co-products.

Missing raw material position (from BOM) in process order
Hello to all,
Please help me on my issue on missing raw material position (from BOM) in process order.
On transaction CS11, for a particular formula/plant/BOM application, the BOM was produced. It was found that this BOM has 20 positions (from 0010 to 0200).
Now, when the user proceed on the process order for this, the position 20 is missing into the order. What checks should be needed to proceed on checking why the item is missing into the process order?
Thanks.
Regards,
PatrickPatrick,
The last check what i would suggest is to check the "Plant-Spl- material status" of the material in line item 0020. You have to check this using transaction "MM03" and in MPR1 - view.
You can check the defination of the status in the customizing transaction "OMS4", here check under "Production Section".
I definately think that there was a error message which should have popped up and ignored by the user due to this defination of the status.

You can try using MB51, use filter movement type 261. Add a filter for the posting date coverage.
Then proceed. Click on the icon DETAIL LIST.
Then click on the SUBTOTAL, add MATERIAL as a Criteria. The click the column AMOUNT IN LC.
You should see the total issuances to per material.
I hope this helps.

Raw Material Consumption to Process Orders
Hi Friends,
I need help with changing the way how we consume raw materials in our manufacturing organization.
Current Process:
A. Receive product A in Warehouse, movement type 101. Debit Inventory Account, and Credit GR/IR.
B. Move product A to a storage location (out of Warehouseu2019s custody). Movement type 311. No impact to P&L, as no accounting entries.
C. Consume product A in a u2018Process Orderu2019 from that storage location 311. Debit Consumption Account, and Credit Inventory Account.
Product A is listed in Bill of Materials and has to be issued to process orders for final consumption u2013 to give production variance as we are on standard costing system.
Desired Process:
We want to have stronger controls in our organization. We want to hit P&L in step B, as soon as Warehouse issues items out. This can be done using movement type 201 GI for Cost Center.
But we also desire to see final consumption happening in process orders, as all our BOMs and standard costs account for the consumption of product A.
Please advice how do we issue items to a process order that have already been issued to a Cost Center. What is it that I am missing?
Thanks,
Meet AI believe we will stick with our current process. See Ajay's reply on the link below:

Availability check of raw material during sale order processing
Dear experts,
When i am entering the finished good in sale order processing, system should check the raw material availabilty. Is it possible in STD sap
Regards,
murali.Rthanks to you all for your reply,
My customer is bright bar manufacturer,They just buy the steel bar & process it & sell it to the customer. So there is only one RAW MATERIAL.
Their all the activities are mainly based on raw material. So customer wants.....when we enter the finished good system should check the RM stock, based on RM STOCK,sytem should do the availability check...& confirm the delivery date
I have mapped customer requirement, after modifying item category & assignment......
Sales BOM explosion & delivery group is maintained for header material.availability check is on at component level & header level. So now system consider the raw material stock & it conform the dates when i do availability check combinely.
I would like to know how it will affet the MRP incase of alternative BOM....FURTHER PROCESSING
Is it the right practise.....Please reply............... -
Hi,
I am trying to cost raw material.
1. I perform all the steps in product costing, assign condition type to origin group:
PB00 cond type to PB00 origin group
ZMAT cond type to ZMAT origin group
this is because I want to see the breakout of the PB00 and ZMAT.
I also specify to read the purchase info record price first in the valuation variant.
2. I set up the purchase info record with PB00 and ZMAT(% uplift).
3. When I run Ck11n, my cost estimate is not reading the Purch Info Record information, is reading the standard price info. I am not using BOM, nor Routing, just the purchase info record to cost.
What else is missing, why the cost estimate is not seeing the purchase info record information?!
Any suggestion greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
AliceHi Gulshan,
I did all that you suggested.
Let me list out all the steps I have configured, and see what else I am missing.
T-code OKTZ,
I created a cost component structure
structure component cost element
ZG 10-material 3500001234
ZG 20-Overhead 1100(2nd c.e.)
ZG 30-ZCDU ?????
My question for the cost component structure here:
For component 10 - the material is for internally produced parts, and for component 30, I want to allocated the PIR condition type ZCDU to this cost component for purchased part ABC, what should I be using for the cost element?! for component 30? It can't be the same cost element as component 10.
I did all the valuation variant set up - using PIR, and then substrategy is condition type from PIR.
Assign the delivery cost set up as well,
PB00 assign to origin group PB00
ZCDU assign to origin group ZCDU
Created source list for vendor & material
so in my PIR, I created condition type PB00, and condition ZCDU.
PB00 = $2.00
ZCDU = $1.00
and when I run CK11N, I want it to pick up the PIR and roll up the cost to $3, and that should update the material master standard price, right?!
not sure what else I am missing that is not picking up the PIR. -
How to including the finished goods as raw material to the other FG?
Hi Gurus,
Have a nice day!
We would like to create production order for our semi finished goods and then we will doing confirmation. After we have produced our semi finished goods, we would like to include it in the bom as raw materials for our final FG. But how to handle this situation? Any suggestion on how the procedure to do it that the cost will not be double..when confirming the semi FG production it will generate cost for the usages of it raw materials. The semi FG is valuated then when i included it as raw material into Final FG it will generate cost for consumption in doing confirmation. I dont know the correct term for this scenario. In other word or semi FG will be part as a raw material to the next production.
Please advise if you have been encountered the same scenario with me.
Thanks ,
WeldinHello Gurus,
Thanks julian for contributing your idea. I really appreciated it.
Right now all activity in manufacturing FG is combine in one production order. Let say we have two activity one is the extrusion and the other one is bagging and printing. From our current set up, we would like to separate the activity. The idea is one production order for extrusion serve as semi-finished good. Then this semi-FG will be added in the component of our final FG which is the bagging and printing because in actual transaction that would be the procedure. Theoritically, we would like to separate the cost of extrusion activity to bagging activity. That is why we will be trying to figure out how to do it right for the analysis purposes.
Other of my idea is when i will set the semi FG to non valuated material. So that when i add the semi FG as component to our Final FG no double costing happen. But when we will run the costing run it will compute low cost in terms of standard price for our final product.
Thanks and best regards,
Weldin angelo -
How to consider sample qty of raw material's quality inspection during mrp.
hi expert.
i have to consider sample qty of raw material's quality inspection during mrp.
i am wondering how to implement it.
is this possible?
thank you~~!!Hi Seung Hyun,
I think it depends on the sample quantity, whether it is a fixed quantity or it depends to the raw material quantity or requirement from the orders. If it is not fixed, then you can use scrap percentage as suggested by Vivek.
If it is fixed quantity, then there are several alternatives to follow:
Include the sample quantity to your safety stock
Create another material number to distinguish the sample from the original raw material number and include it in the BOM

Raw material Moving Avg. Price (MAP) should include overhead cost.
We receive a raw material that has unit price of USD 10, the material is used in BOM. We incur some additional cost on that material and want to include that additional cost as a part of raw material cost. Say additional cost is USD 1 per unit. We want the system to include USD 1 in material MAP making is USD 11 per unit (i.e. 10 + 1).
Please help how can we achieve this.
regards
ChrisHi
Your scenario would be better represented by Price Control S and using BOM/Routing/Prod order in PP... I dont know why your PP guys should be against it.... You should do it if you wanna capture the Loss of 13 kg in the system
Anotjer option is to create a condition type and assign an accrual key to the cond type so that the Offset for this cond type does not post to GR/IR account.. Else, your vendor would get paid extra

How to update only Raw material cost(CK11n) in Material Master ?
Hi Everybody,
My client has a requirement where only raw material costs from the BOM should get updated in Material Master (Accounting 1 view in Standard Price field).
But in Receipe & BOM for the Process Order, the client wants all Packing Materials and activites to be maintained.
Pls help me in this regards,
AnkitaHi Jagdish,
Let me put it this way to explain you my problem.
When running CK11n,
Total Cost is =
Total Raw Materials used Cost = QTY from BOM * Price from Material Master
+
Total Packing Materials used Cost = QTY from BOM * Price from Material Master
+
Total Utility cost = Qty from receipe * price in KP26
When viewing the cost componenet view in CK11n tcode, I can view the break up as follows
Raw Material Cost = XX rs
Packing Material Cost = XX rs
Overheads = XX rs
Total cost = sum of all above XX rs ( this is the cost which gets updated when realasing price thru t code CK40n)
But my client wants that at time of price relase, system should relase only total raw materil cost as standard price for the Finished Good in Material Master Accounting 1 view.
I hope now you are getting me.
Regards,
Ankita -
Break up of raw material cost for released finished materials
Hi All,
I have searched various threads before posting this question.
Is there any standard report available to view the breakup of raw material cost for a release finished material.
I have cost component split report but it shows everything in raw materials.... is there any report to show a break up of this raw materials cost.
If there is no standard report can you please how I should develop a customized report.
Thanks,
SriniDear Srinivas,
You will get the cost breakup in the following report:
CK84_99 - Itemization
CK86_99 - Costed Multilevel BOM
CK80_99 - Cost Components
You will get the same information in CK13N
From the standard SAP, no report will show breakup for all the materials in single report at a time.
We have developed the report through ABAP functionality
