BOM Multy level

Hi all,
we r doing multy level bom in sales order
EX: project item is TAP (In material master item cat.group LUMF)
equipment item is TAN (In material master item cat.group NORM)
component itam is BTAN (In material master item cat.group NORM)
My issue is when we r creating a sales order BOM is exploded in sales order like..
10-mat-mat disc-qty-TAP
20-mat-mat disc-qty-TAN--10(highlvl)
30-mat-mat disc-qty-BTAN--20
40-mat-mat disc-qty-BTAN--20
50-mat-mat disc-qty-BTAN--20 All the BTAN Items delevired But system still showing TAN item is open how can i close the main item(TAN)

Hi,
Does your material which has item category TAN came in the delivery document or not.
If not then go to VOV7 and select TAN and execute.
Item relevant for delivery should not be activated.
Go to VOV6 and select the schedule line category which is determined for the TAN material in the sales order and execute.
Activate the item relevant for delivery for your schedule line category.
Now check whether it coming in your delivery document or not.
If its coming to the delivery document n still its not updating.
Then go to VTLA and select your sales order and delivery document combination.
Go to the item level and select your item category TAN and execute.
In that activate the update document flow and save the setting.
Now create the sales order and do the delivery.
Now check whether it is updating or not.

Multy level BOM & RG1 updation

Hi all,

we r maintaing pricing at TAN leval and BTAN pricing is statistical.But we r delivering BTAN itams under tae TAN, procuring the materials for TAN bom wise and not delivering the TAN but how the RG1 register will b update.
Sales process.
Inquiry-quotation-s.order-deliver(BTAN means semifinished+ bought only)-proforma invoice with JEX - excise invoice.
and commarcial invoice with billing plan TAN item wise only.
ONE MORE ISSUE is the delivery status of the equipment(TAN) in sales order is open because we r not maintin stock not delivery.how the equipment(TAN) will b updated in RG1 register

RG1 will be updated according to the Goods Issue documents (MB03).
which will be against to specific movement type.
in your issue, if you are delivering the main item or sub item goods- specific material doc against to this movement type will be generated ( doc type:WL), which will be seen in delivery doc flow:Goods issue document.
RG1 will update only for this material document, not for those items, whcih is nto actually delivered.

Purchasing Group in equipment BOM ( Item level)

At the time of creating equipment BOM , purchasing group in equipment BOM (item level ) will be in sync with material master purchasing data.
When we change purchasing data (Purchasing group) in material master at that time system will not change purchasing group in old equipment BOM's at item level. Is there any standard method to maintain purchasing group in old equipment BOM in sync with purchasing group in material master data (System ECC 6.0 ehp5)

Because of this issue wrong information is flowing to PR (when component selected from equipment BOM in work order).
Is there any negative impact if I will remove purchasing group at BOM item level ?
I did analysis for this and found no negative impact on PR , still looking for expert advice as client is not looking for any core modification.

BOM REVISION LEVEL UPDATE!!

Hi Experts
i need a program to update Bom Revision Level.My requirement is It should have 2 functionalities.
One radio button should be there which takes care of single BOM update
· Second radio button takes care of mass BOM updates.
So is there any Bapi avaulable for it??please i need it urgently....

BOM Explosion Levels: SAP Help needs some help (and so do I!)

I'm using CS12 to explode a BOM. I added some fields to my layout - specifically "PPH" which the (f1) help calls "Path (Predecessor)"
The SAP Help has a BOM tree example but the formats are all wrong. I can't tell which of their real/dummy materials go into which level of build...not to mention, shouldn't "Mat J" be a 3/1 - 3rd level of the BOM??
I am creating a custom components report and trying to understand how these Path-Pred / Level values so I can correlate my BOM levels visually to the report results.

Agree the help display of the BOM structure is not so user friendly.
For level, the number increases when you move in vertical direction in the BOM across levels (T to B).
For path, the number increases when you move in horizontal direction in the BOM at a given level (L to R).
So now look thru' the values in CS12 & you should be able to figure it out.

SG:50, Cannot convert planned orders to prod orders at BOM component level

Test scenario for Strategy Group 50 (Planning without final Assembly)
Product Structure
Material--> SG50.00 > FERT> (Strategy Group: 50)
Material---> SG50.02 --> HALB --->(Strategy Group: 40)
Material---> SG50.04 ---> ROH --->(Strategy Group: Blank)
Maintained PIRs and Ran MRP at the header level, Planned orders are created
with order type VP at levels of BOM structure. Thus cannot covert planned orders
to production orders without having sales order.
But my understanding of Strategy Group 50, is BOM components can be produced before hand (i.e.
before sales orders are recieved ). Now planned orders with order type VP not able to convert
planned orders to prod orders at BOM component level

Intially maintained Individual/Collective indicator to "2" at header level (FERT), which is why all the planned orders are created with order type VP
Changed the Individual/Collective indicator to "blank " at header level (FERT), and maintained Individual/Collective indicator to "2" at component level
Reran the MRP (MDO2), with the following settings --> Delete and Recreate planning data and Check mark on Also plan on unchanged components
Able to see planned orders at component level with order type LA
Due points have been assigned

BOM Revision Level

Hi,
We are uploading the BOMs into server. While manual creation of BOM I am able to update the revision level of the BOM. But we are unable to update it while uploading through LSMW. Please suggest me in this regard.

We have ECM in our project.
We have to take all the BOMs from the previous version of SAP and upload to the new all of them to the new version.
All the BOMs have revision levels w.r.t. to a change number.
While manually changing the BOM the revision level can be updated by entering the BOM w.r.t. a change number and then in the menu --> extras --> new revision level.
Now we have to upload the BOMs through LSMW. It is not picking up the revision level while uploading.
Please give your suggestions.

Schedule line on BOM lower level items

Hi Team,
I have maintained a manual over ride for Schedule line category on a lower level item of a BOM. In sales order when I try to change the schedule line cat manually I am not able to. In fact the entire line is greyed out.
The quantities on the main item are confirmed. can you please advise

We are adding the unit of measure to the pricing access sequence. If I enter a product that explodes into a lower level item from the bill of material you can only enter the unif of measure on the high level material and it doesn't copy down to the lower level item and I want them to match.

BOM Explosion level

Hi,
Multi level bom is a Bom which it has different components at different level..for example:
- A ( finished material)
- B ( semi finished)
- C ( Raw material)
When you run the MRP, Bom will explode upto last level and it will plan the requirement of each individual material.
What ever may be the kind of BOM to be created transaction codes are as below:
- CS01 : BOM create
- CS02: BOM Change
- CS03: BOM display
Pre requisites are material master record for the materials.
What you have to keep in mind is:
1. BOM creation is through CS01 only.
2. When you have to create multilevel BOM, you have to carry craetion of BOM level by level.
3. First create BOM for assemblies (means materials which are produced inhouse, means materials with procurement type "E" in the material master MRP 2 view).
4. Finally create BOM for the finished product using these assemblies as components.
5. When you see the BOM of finished part after creation through CS03, you can find these assemblies with a tick mark in the field "Assembly". When you double click you can see the susequent BOM of these assemblies.
6. Example would be for a vehicle suppose engine, front wheel, back wheel are the "E"parts. Create BOM first for these engine, front wheel and backwheel with respective material components.
Then create BOM for vehicle with these three "E".
When you see the BOM of vehicle after creation, you can see a tick mark against these E parts which shows that they have BOM furtehr down and you can double click and see the components of these .

Multy-Level flash chart in WD4A

I have been using flash charts in my Web Dynpro components for a while now and I thought it's time to try and take it to the next level and create an interactive chart. I got a request from my user for a graph with 2 levels - a weekly level that shows data for 7 weeks, and then a daily level that shows the daily data for each of the weeks. I saw a beautiful example from adobe that fits this request exactly:

As you can see in the two right charts, when you click on a month you get the daily chart for that month. I have the code for a working flex chart with this exact structure. I did some tests trying to get it to work with variables from my WDA components but without success so far. The major difference between this chart and a simple chart is the structure of the array collection. Here is the structure of the array collection in my example:

We have 2 dates here and For each date there are six different values. Obviously the values are hard-coded here but what I wanted to do is to create a different variable for each of the values of each of the dates and fill each of these during the run of the WDA component. my structure was:
date: = (VAR1) assets: (VAR2)....ETC
date: = (VAR8) assets: (VAR9)....ETC
Obviously not the most fancy thing I have ever written from a developer perspective but i couldn't think of different way to make this lovely chart work in WDA. Here is the link for the chart I took the code from:

I know this is kind of advanced stuff and I'm not even sure it's possible to flll a multi-level array-collection like this using the flash island component. But I think being able to create a chart of this complexity in WDA is a dream for any serious WDA developer. If anyone has any idea how to implement this chart I would love to hear it.

Gneration of multiple Production Order from multi level BOM

Hi Experts,
My customer has multi level BOM. meaning child item also has its own BOM - 4 Level.
FG-Pack - Make
      FG - Make
           SFG - Make
                RM - Buy
Their process is once they create Production Order for final Finished Good, System should also create Production order for child which it self are of make type and has own BOM defined in system.
They wish that once the create Production order for FG-Pack, system should automatic generate production order for FG and SFG as both of these has BOM defined and are of procurement type Make.
So first they will close the chile production order and receives qty. in ware house, they will issue this child qty. against main production order, and then completes the main production order.
So they remains informed about the child item stock.
My question is SAP Business One supports creation of multiple Production Order?

Hi Samir Gandhi,
There is no build-in function for this task. You need add-on or SDK for the job.
If the sub level BOM items are phantom, you can create a big production order including all sub BOM components. That is system supported.

System sholud explode only first level BOM in MRP

when i run MRP, system should expolde only first level remaining levels should not explode. how can i achive this??

Goto MM02-Enter your Sub-Assmbly code -Selevct MRP4 view -Keep MRP Depedent requirement field as 1-Material For Depedent Requirement are not planned .
Please do this only for Sub-Assbmly .But keep Final Assmbly ( which has Sub-Assmbly as BOM Componenet ) MRP4 View -MRP Depenent Requirement Filed as Blank -Materials for depedent requirement are planned .
This should be followed in sub-sequenet Sub-Assbly level as per BOM Explosion level .
Check this in Sand box with sample materil having multilevel and then do the same

In sales orer there is any provision to Re-explode the BOM in sales order.we have make some changes in BOM.Now we want to re-explode the BOM in Sales order so that BOM Components can be available in sales order.

go to VOV4 do this confioguration for item catagory determination.
ZB01     ERLA               TAQ
ZB01     ERLA          TAP     TAE
ZB01     ERLA          TAQ     TAE
ZB01     NORM               TAE
ZB01     NORM          TAN     TAE
ZB01     NORM          TAP     TAE
ZB01     NORM          TAQ     TAE
here ZB01 is the order type
now you can see we used three item catagory TAP , TAQ and TAE
TAQ is the first level TAP is the second level and the final level is TAE.
now for multy level explosion go to your item catagory
and go to bills of material tab in the field "structure scope" select "B-Explode multi-level bill of material"
then do a transaction and check

BOM business requirement for sales order and PGI

Hi Experts,
Current setting
The BOM structure is A = A1+A2
1) Material A created in MM master item category group = ERLA
2) Sub component material A1 and material A2, MM master item category group = NORM for both component.
3) Maintained in CS01 BOM header is A and items are A1 and A2.
4) Item category in IMG was created and assign item category also created.
    4.1) OR-ERLA-TAQ-TAE
new business requirement as listed below.
5) The material A is alway zero quantity on hand, no goods receipt required with no physical with such material or package at all. (it is dummy material number in SAP).
6) while SO created.
    6.1) Fro material A sales price captured at BOM header level only, NO QTY and COSTshow in the sales order.
     6.2) Material A1 and A2 are actual physical inventory item in the ware house.
     6.3) The sub component of material A1 and A2 is required to captured QTY and COST. NO SALES PRICES NEEDED.
CONCLUSION
HOW to setup/configure such a business scenario?
- Is it logic to configure as OR-ERLA-TAE-TAN that's what i think of?
My problem is how to make the material A is alway ZEROS stock on hand and allow in sales order creation with ZEROS order qty?

As per your post,
- You are creating Main item which is a dummy material without any physical inventory maintained, but the pricing/billing should be done @ main item level.
- here you are not dispatching main item, but billing should be carried at this level. in such case, I suggest you to go with the new sch.line cat w/o maintaining any mov type to it. & use Zitem category for this main item in VOV7, mark "Order qtty=1" so that min order qtty for this main item should be 1, so that you can calculate price.
- You want to capture Cost of sub items , summation of sub items cost is total cost of main item & Profit will be calculated accordingly.
Sub items, sch.line category should have mov type, item cat should be not relevant for pricing & billing , but relevant for sch.lines. In Copy control from delivery - Billing @ item level, for the main item ,- item category, choose "Cumulate cost", so that cost of the sub items will be cumulated to main item.
eg:
MATERIAL QTY COST SALES NET VALUE
A 0 0 1,500.00
A1 1 100.00 0
A2 1 50.00 0
My problem is how to make the material A is alway ZEROS stock on hand and allow in sales order creation with ZEROS order qty?
To avoid this, mark order qtty=1, in item category for main item, but for the same item, sch.line category should not have mov type. so that there will nt be any PGI document. But PGI should be done for sub items to capture inventory & cost.
Test & revert, if any issues.
