BOM of services

Hi all,
I would like to know if it's possible to configure a BOM of services. We sell a service, but when we make that service we have to do other services, with their prices, so we want the explosion of services, and the price of the main service must be the add of the services which are the components.

I am having two questions .
1) Can we have a BOM of Services?
If yes then what is the method to create it.
2) Can we have a mix BOM of Services and Material codes ?
My client is having a requiremnt that he supply to his client products and some services . So can he have the same BOM for both.
What is the process to create it. Is is created by the normal way CS01 T code or some other method is there .

Instead or looking in the lines of a BOM for service , if ur client requires both service & materials ,let him create a service order for service materials & a normal sales order for salable BOM materials.

Need help with BAPI_PR_CREATE for BOM and Service

Hi all,
My requirement is to do a mass conversion program for PR creation, so I'm planning to use either BAPI_REQUISITION_CREATE or BAPI_PR_CREATE.
The difficult part is that, I need to be able to change the compononent (BOM) for subcontracting and also be able to input service lines for service type PR.
I know that for service I can use BAPI_REQUISITION_CREATE, it has a specific structure for that, but does BAPI_PR_CREATE provide the same functionality as well?
As for altering component (BOM) , I couldn't find any parameter in both function to do the work.
Does anyone have this requirement before and can advice me about this. Thanks in advance.

My problem is solved.
I was be able to convince the user to use standard BOM insteand of customizing them in PR. As for service, I use BAPI PR_REQUISITION_CREATE

Exploding BOM in service order

Dear Exparts,
I need a way to copy all the children materials in a BOM to the component of a service order as individual componenet. How can I do that. in configuration I could not find anything helpful. please guide.

Hi Subhro,
I thought you are talking about the BOM material for the ref technical object say functional location or equipment in the service order. If you have maintained the BOM for the equipment you can pull the all the component list in the component tab.
In the component tab click on the List button available in the component tab. You will see the list of BOM material.

Usage of BOM Type=Shop Order

Hi,
I have noticed that, in SAP ME, I have the possibility of setting a BOM as Type=Shop Order.
In the help I have read that this makes some checks in the background of the system when a
BOM is transferred from SAP ERP.
Can I use this BOM Type also if I am transferring BOM's from a totally different ERP supplier?
Our current ERP interface is today transferring only Master BOM's with Web-service, but we
plan on starting using Shop Order specific BOM's in the near future.

From the SAP ME Help:
"BOM Type
During the import of a Production order coming from SAP ERP, the system
compares a Master BOM with the Production order BOM.
If differences are identified, a shop order-specific BOM is created. If an SFC
number of a shop order has specific component specifications, an SFC BOM is created.
Note that an SFC BOM takes precedence over a Shop Order BOM and then a Shop Order BOM takes precedence over a Master BOM"
When it says "the system compares", is this something that happens always by default in the BOM web-service when a BOM is transferred even though it is not imported from SAP ERP?

BOM Explosion in CRM5.0 sales contracts. Is it possible?

We have a situation where we have downloaded sales boms from ECC6.0 to CRM5.0 as structured products...
Now I want to use this product on sales contract and based upon item category determination and other setting on item category such as all single level bom explosion, we would ideally like the BOM to explode on sales contracts.
But SAP comes back and says that they dont support BOM explosion on sales contracts but on contrary I have successfully exploded the BOM on service contract, so I am thinking there is a way to explode the BOM on sales contracts as well.
Please share any thoughts/suggestions on this topic

Orders for Serviceable products in OM doesn't create contracts

Hi,
The order placed for the serviceable product in the sales order form in OM doesn't automatically create contracts in Oracle Service Contracts.I have done the following:
1.Serviceable pdt - x
UOM- Each, Serviceable product- checked
2.Warranty - y
UOM- Month, BOM -enabled, service type -warranty
3. X has been associated with y as component in BOM with the following checked under the 'Shipping tab'
Include on Ship docs
Required to Ship
Required for revenue
After the product x, has been shipped and the order status becomes closed, if i check in the Oracle Contracts Service module, I'm not able to find a contract created for the warranty y for the particular customer for whom the order was placed.
Am i missing out any step?

Hi,
The service contracts guide also says to run 'Installed Base Interface' concurrent program for shippable items. Even after running this concurrent program no contracts is created.
Any step to be done further??

The best thing to do is run HP Update if it is on your computer. I would normal tell you to run Windows Upate, also. However, Microsoft is no longer supporting Win XP. Also, you can go through the drivers in the Software & Drivers section and install any that have a later date than the release date of the computer (13-Aug-2006). Make certain that they match the hardware in your system before installing them.

BOM IN CRM Only for Service Contract

We want have a BOM explosion working in CRM for service contracts
Here are the details :
We have replicated the materials from ECC to CRM. We are not maintaining any BOMu2019s in ECC.
The idea is that we maintain the BOM Structure in CRM only, as we donu2019t want to have the Items as a billable item in a position, only for information purposes (or later on for metering)
We have maintained the product category for the header product in CRM so we are able to maintain depended components
(Relationship type SCDEC S Dependent Components (DC) )
Not we are able to assign dependent component to the header material
Item category groups:
We understand that the standard item category groups that should be used are ERLA for the header product and LUMF for the Item product.
In order to support the same functionality for the given item category group , maintained at the product level in ECC we copied the same setting for the item category group from the standard to
our settings.

Thanks Nablan, I could do that for multiple header coming in file. But I have a question for you on BAdI ALM_ME_006_GOODSMVT. I have implemented this BAdI , and this BAdI is called by a function Module ALM_MEREP_006_CREATE. When I test this FM giving the Material , Orderid and Movement type entries, this BAdI is triggered when giving a breakpoint. I've given this code for changing the movement type to 961. Cause the stanadrd scenario does not maintain Movement type 961 in Mobile Asset Management. The Movement type 961 for unplanned Materials comes to SAP and changes to 261 as maiantained by TCOKO table. To bypass this & retain the movement type 961 in SAP I'm using this BAdI. Currently this is what I'm doing and am stuck in the method interface how do I call the method.

Hi,
I did work on single level BOM explosion in a couple of projects. As per SAP note 549341 - FAQ: BOMs in the sales order, it is very much possible to explode multi-level BOMs.
Check this note and item category BOM explosion options.

BOM component in service order

Hi guys,
I have plant A as a maintenance planning plant for plant B and C and equipment 123 in plant B.
Can I create an equipment BOM in maintenance planning plant A and when I explode the BOM in my service order, it will list out the components to be drawn out from plant B?

Material BOM explosion in Service Order components

Hi experts,
I created a Material BOM with transaction code CS01.
Then I try to add this BOM in the component of a service order.
What I expected is the BOM to be exploded in the service order. But this behaviour doesn't occur.
Do you know what I can do to trigger a Material BOM explosion at service order level.
By the way, the BOM is not exploded after the service order (in the reservation or in MIGO).

Thank you for help.
Special Procurement 50 didn't exist in my system.
I created it in SPRO for the plant with the Procurement Type F (External Procurement) and the flag Phantom Item checked..
Then I created
- Material A (MM01)
- Material BOM A (CS01) with:
-- item 1 Material B (which has Spec Proc Type 50 in MM02-MRP2)
-- item 2 Material C (which has Spec Proc Type 50 in MM02-MRP2)
After that I created a Service Order (IW31)
I put Material A in the Component tab with quantity 1.
The BOM remains unexploded.
Did I miss something?

now it came for service ...i have ented in Service notification.....If user wants to see the Bill of material by Clicking Object info...and by clicking hierachy in pop-up screen ...BOM is not comming....
Even i maintained Eq BOM also...

How to create items and BOMs using web services

Hi All,
I need to create, change and read Items and BOMs through web services (using SOA Gateway, right). I found this one here: "Process Item (convenience wrapper version)" or "Process Item" within
Internal Name     EGO_ITEM_PUB

Right now, I don't know how to use it. If somebody has a simple example to create a single item, this would be perfect! Which one would be the right one to read detailed information about an existing item?
The second object I need to maintain (create, change and read) is BOM. Which API can I use here?
btw: I use EBS 12.1.1 on windows.

Enable trace and generate the tkprof file or open the form using forms builder to get the name of the API used in thta screen.or

Service Item in the BOM

Dear All, I would like to add service item in the bom which will should be non stock but valuated item.
1) I am using material type WERT/ ROH for this.
2) Whenever I am trying to post the GRN for the finished goods , It is giving an error
No special stocks defined for value-only materials
Message no. M7311
Diagnosis
You set a special stock indicator although the article concerned is a value-only article. You cannot have special stock for value-only articles.
Procedure
Cancel the special stock indicator.
please advise the solution .

This error is coming since you have assigned the WERT material type in BOM and for this in OMS2 there is no update of quantity defined in Plant/Material.
