BOM Patch

Hi,
I have to apply the following patch 4353006 to the following environments.
TEST:
Node 1 = DB, CM and Admin
Node 2 = Forms, web
PROD:
NODE 1 = DB, CM, ADMIN
NODE 2 = FORMS,WEB
NODE 3 = FORMS,WEB
Can you please describe, which order I have to follow to apply the above patch......

Thanks hussein,
These are the following messages from 11iadproc.pdf document
Apply the unified driver as follows:
*1. Complete Steps 1 – 7 in the Applying a Patch Interactively section on page 3-2.*
*2. Apply the unified driver on the node where the administration server is located.*
Additional Information: See Stopping or Starting Application Tier
Services in Chapter 2.
Note: Do not run multiple sessions of AutoPatch on the same
Applications system at the same time.
Performing Patching Tasks Non-interactively
Patching 3-9
AutoPatch automatically runs all driver portions (copy, database, and generate).
*3. Apply the unified driver on the node where the concurrent processing server is*
located.
AutoPatch selectively runs only the copy and generate driver portions.
*4. Start concurrent managers.*
*5. Apply the unified driver on the remaining nodes in the application tier.*
AutoPatch selectively runs only the copy and generate driver portions.
*6. Disable Maintenance Mode.*
Use the Change Maintenance Mode menu of AD Administration to disable
maintenance mode. See Change Maintenance Mode in Oracle Applications
Maintenance Utilities.
*7. Start other services and restart Web server, if necessary.*
I follow according to above, in Production Instance ( NODE1, NODE2 and Node 3)
(a) Stop Application Processes on all nodes
(b) Stop Concurrent Manager Processes on Node 1
(c) Enable the Maintenance Mode on Node1
(d) Enable the Maintenance Mode on Node2
(e) Enable the Maintenance Mode on Node3
(f) Apply the Patch using adpatch on Node1
(g) Start the Concurrent Managers on Node 1
(h) Apply the Patch on Node2
(j) Apply the Patch on Node3
(k) After applying the patch successfully, disable the maintenance mode on all nodes (node1, node2 and node3)
(l) Start the Application Services on Node 1( No need to start concurrent managers, already started)
(m) Start the Application Services on Node 2
(n) start the Application Services on Node 3
Please correct me, if i am wrong any where above...
But I have doubt, is it necessary to start concurrent managers after applying patch on CM Node immediately before applying the patch on node2, and node3...
This is given in the above document...

Please be aware that in patch 11 the requirement that a delivery have a tracking number associated with it was lifted per multiple customer requests. Meaning, all deliveries that synch to web tools from B1 will trigger the messaging service to send a delivery notification if so enabled.
So, if you have deliveries in B1 that have no tracking number on them, when they synch to Web tools they will send the delivery confirmation email. Basically any delivery that exists in Web tools that does not have a tracking number has never been sent, and after patch 11 will be sent, so you may end up sending delivery confirmations to your customers for orders that were placed years ago.
Obviously this is not good. What you can do is use a local smtp server, which is recommended anyways, and monitor the pickup folder for emails that would be sent out. Pause the local smtp server BEFORE you upgrade to patch 11, watch the pickup directory and manually delete any emails that you don't want to go out.
As there may be a large number of emails that you do not wish delivered, you may wish to perform a search on that folder for files containing the text of the undesired emails, such as "Your order has been shipped". Move those emails to a seperate folder, then search for any emails that do not contain the current date, or the dates that you know delivery notifications have not been sent for. A great tool for this is Total Commander, and it's free.
There is also a switch in the Admin - config settings - messaging page that you can use to disable the sending of shipment notifications entirely. But make sure you restart the messaging service after you change this setting as the old setting might be cached in the service.

I downloaded the latest copy of the patchsets.sh from Oracle and ran it with the following parameters:
    patchsets.sh connect=apps/<apps_password> available=metalink
This tool generated a bunch of reports including one called "Report.txt" and "Report_R12.txt"
Which one of these patches am I supposed to download and apply to be able to continue with the upgrade?
    An excerpt From "Report.txt":

  • Changes made in BOM are not reflected in Configurator.

    Hi all,
When i update minimum and maximum quantities in BOM, the new values are not reflected in the configurator.
I have found a patch (patch# 4410573) for this issue in metalink and applying that patch did not resolve the issue.
I have logged an SR with Oracle for this and Oracle support have asked me to run "Refresh Single Configuration Model" concurrent program and see if the changes are reflected.
This program has 2 parameters one for folder and the other for Configuration Model Id.
When i try to run the program, for any of the folders, the value set for the parameter Configuration Model Id does not show any values and hence i am unable to run the program.
We don't have a separate instance for COnfigurator.
Do i need to do any set up so that my Configuration model is reflected in the LOV?
Can anyone please help me on this?
    Oracle Apps version: 11.5.10.2
    Configuration software build: 11.5.10.25.43A
    Regards,
    Sreekanth

    Hi Jason,
    Please see my comments below
    Jason said*
Support is correct. If you haven't run the Refresh a Single Configuration Model concurrent program for your model, then the new BOM attributes will not be visible in your model. Changes to items/BOMs are not directly reflected in the configuration model. You must "refresh" the model to see the changes.*
Even without running the "Refresh a Single Configuration Model" concurrent program, in some scenarios, changes are being reflected in Configurator.
    Ex:
When i change only minimum and maximum quantities, the changes i.e. new minimum and maximum values are not reflected in Configurator.
But, when i also change any of the following fields along with minimum and maximum quantities, new values are being updated in Configurator with out running the refresh program.
    effectivity_date, disable_date, component_quantity, planning_factor, component_yield_factor and optional class
    Can you please explain this?
Also, i have already tried executing the query by commenting the enclosing_folder check. But still, the query is not retrieving any records.
Basically, the sub-query that fetches devl_project_id itself is not retrieving any records.
    Jason said:+
Based on the SQL above, the only criteria for importing a model is that the item under the folder must be:+
    a. A Model (PRJ = Project)+
    b. The Model cannot be deleted (Deleted_flag must be '0')+
    c. And the model must have been imported from Oracle apps, e.g. it cannot be a non-BOM model (orig_sys_ref is not null)+
Can you please tell how can i check whether model is imported into configurator or not and if it is imported from where is it imported?

  • Sales BOM inventory and COGS

    Hi all
If a sales BOM is on an AR Invoice, I want to hit COGS and inventory of its components, not of the parent item. This used to be the case with an earlier SAP 2007A release. However, when we upgraded to a new patch 35, this has changed. Now when a sales BOM is sold (AR invoice), for some reason it doesn't hit COGS of its components, but of the parent item.
    For example
    Sales BOM ABC123 consists of
    item 1
    item 2
    item 3
When ABC123 is sold, it should hit both inventory and COGS of item 1, item 2 and item 3! Not of ABC123
Is this some sort of a setting in SAP that can be changed? Thanks!
    Simon

    Hi Simon
I am on PL37 of SAP Business One 2007A and tested with a Sales BOM that has 2 children items. One is set at Warehouse level and the other at Group level. The COGS posted correctly for both children to their respective COGS accounts.
Are you using Warehouse or Item Group level account determination? Also check which warehouse/(s) the individual children are posting from on the Invoice.
    Kind regards
    Peter Juby
