BOM validity by order batch (pharmacy)

Dear PP Gurus,
Currently we are implementing PP-PI in pharmacy.
There is one requirement that i think it is impossible in PP-PI
but maybe you can give me some idea about this.
My client want the BOM validity is by batch.
The change active is not by date but by batch
for example
this change of BOM is valid start from batch D000600
prior to D000600 still used old BOM
is it possible??
best regards,
Freddy Ha

Hi Katti and Adler,
As we use strategy 40 we will user planned independent requirement.
in some point you are right Mr Katti (fo your command : it doesn't make any sense),
when we create planning we do not state the batch.
So MRP will run without clue which batch is it....
After production order created then batch is created.
I will look into parameter effective for BOM as Mr.Adler stated.
Parameter activity will only works with MTO strategy or Production by Lot only.
When we create SO for MTO / create lot for production then system will ask the batch.
So MRP will run according parameter activity from SO / from Lot.
Thanx once again for help.
Good day.
Best regards,
Freddy Ha

  • Process Order -Batch determination for a BOM material(same batch)

    Hi Friends,
    Thanks in advance.
Let us say, a material (ROH) has so many batches as A,B,C & D. Whenever we create a new process order, system has to pick only the particular batch( say -C here)  in the process order BOM through batch determination.  (during process order creation stage)
1.How to achieve the same ?
    2. What are the ways are there to achieve the same ?
3.Is there any Exit for this?
    Regards,
    Mani

    Hi Velmurugan & Vishwas,
    Thnaks for your feed back.
    1. Is there any other ways without batch classification ? ( Because there are so many material without MM-classification view.....and client wants without extending the Classification view for MM master as it suggests same batch for all GI for delivery & GR for purchase.....)...We want only for process order batch determination.....
    2. Is there any exit for this ?
    3. Is it possible through any kind of Characteristic assignment in the Sort sequence? How?

  • Concept of Alternate BOM in Process Order.

    Hi,
We are having Process order Scenario & we watn following options.
    1.       Having 2-3 BOM of the same FERT/HALB with alternate Raw Materials.
    2.       Selection of Specific BOM for Process Order depending on the Availability / Requirement.
    3.       Creating Issue Slip / Reservation for the Specific BOM.
    4.       Issuing Material accordingly.
    5.       Booking consumption accordingly.
    Thanks in advance.
    DON

    Dear
    Please find below the answers of your question ;
1.Having 2-3 BOM of the same FERT/HALB with alternate Raw Materials. ; Goto CS01-Enter Plant-Enter Material -Enter Usage and List down all the items in frist Alternative .Again to create Alternative 2 and so on , you need to go CS02 with same menu path -System will automatically take the Alternative 2  or you can copy Alternative 1 if you have similar items with additional new items..
    2. Selection of Specific BOM for Process Order depending on the Availability / Requirement ; As far as MRP is concern , BOM selection  and explosion of BOM for depdent , needs to have BOM Selection methods  Blank , 1,2,3 in MRP4 view .If you have maintained Producton version with all those aternative  with proper validity and lot size , then MRP will explode as per lot size and valididrt depeding on the order qty  or you can also create demand MD61 with Production Version based on the avalabity of BOM [MD61-Enter User parametes -Scheculie Tab -Goto Settings-Production Version -Enter PV with spefic BOM based on availablity ]   and then run MRP in MD02-NETCH ,3,1,1,3,2 .Howver , you can also select this production version manually while creation of Process order  based on the Order Type Depent Parameters in OPL8-Select Process Order Type-Goto Detals-Here Master data tab -Select Production Version -Keep it 1-Manula Selection .Remember , as sequence , MRP will select the frist PV listes in MRP4 view of Material master if it does not find proper lot size and validity.
3.Creating Issue Slip / Reservation for the Specific BOM. ; Generally , MMD/Store will be given Reservation Number  and they will chekc in MB51 for open reservation for Goods Issue and carry out MIGO-261.Frosm Shop Fllor you can try Pick List  or you can print Process Order Print out in COP1 or MD4C print out also .Otherwise develope customs Forms as per the information permissible from you business to store .
    4. Issuing Material accordingly.; It will happen in MIGO-261 or automatcally based on Backflkashing in MRP2 view -Always back flash so that at the confirmation time in co15/c011 , you can automatically goods issue the material .
5.Booking consumption accordingly ; It is Process Order Cycle from Releasing of Process order to till Goos Recipt of Process Order in MIGO-101.You can also use Auto GR based on the Control Key set up in Master Recipe which triggers the Auto GR.

  • BOM in purchase order

    Hi experts,
Is it possible to use the BOM in purchase order? In the sense, if material a = b + c, then If i create the purchase order for material a, it should explode to b and c as the BOM explodes in a sales order.
Please let me know if this possible? And if yes, then how to go about it? If no, what is the reason we cant use it in PO?
    - Prashant

    Hi,
Please check the following things :
    1. In Material master MRP4 view - Field "Individual/Coll" should have value "2" or "Blank" & In BOM (Transaction code CS03) item detail section - Field "Explosion Type" should have value  "LB" ("Individual/Coll" should have value "2" or "Blank") .
    2. PIR should have PIR Info category "3" , i.e., Subcontracting PIR must available for header material which we receive back from subcontractor.
    3. Special Procurement Key must be "30" in material master MRP2 View.
    4. Purchasing Item Category must be "L" and production BOM must be maintained, if you want to explode BOM in PO.
    5. Please check BOM valid period is effective from in Tcode cs03
    6. Please check your PO date against the valid date of the BOM valid period.
    regards,
    Siddharth.

  • BOM and production order

CAn somebody give me the steps for creating BOM alongwith routing  in SAP
and also the steps involved in creating a Production order //
Please give me all the t Codes //Iam basically a finance and costing consultant
Iam trying to create a test scenario for testing a costing variant //
Also trying to analyse the financial impact during creation of a Prodn order
    Thanx
    Nikhil

    Mr. Nick,
    Creation of BOM:
    1. CS01 -> BOM creation
    a. Enter Mtl No., Plant No., BOM Usage (use the value 3), If you wish to keep track of changes, then generate a change number & assign the same to the change number field & also select the date from which you want the BOM to be valid from.
    b. Once inside this transaction, add the components which you want along with the qty required.
    c. There are more settings which you can do, but for a simple BOM, these entries are sufficient.
    d. If you wish to link another BOM with this, enter the mtl nos which has the BOM, this way you can build multi-level BOM's.
    2. CA01 -> Routing creation
    a. You can create a routing specific to a material or you can have a single routing for multiple materials.
    b. If you want to have a routing per material, then enter the mtl nos, Plant, change nos if you want to keep track of changes & the valid from date.
    c. You can also have routing specific to a sales document or WBS element.
    d. If you wish to have a group routing i.e. a single routing for multiple mtl's which are going to be produced in a similar way, then just enter a name in Group field.
    e. Depending on what you select above, different screens open, i would suggest, you try creating one in the sandbox server & post back if you face any problems.
    3. CO01 -> Production order creation
    a. Once you have created the BOM & routing for the material, then enter the material for which you want to create the production order, enter the production plant & also the order type. If you are not aware of what order type, then please refer to your PP consultant.
    b. After making the initial entry & when you press enter, the system automatically reads the BOM & Routing associated with this material.
    c. Once again i suggest you create a production order in sandbox server & if you face any issues you can post back.
Also note: You can use CS02, CA02, CO02 for modifications of BOM, Routings & Production orders respectively. CS03, CA03 & CO03 for display.
Hope i was able to give some assistance to you.
    Regards,
    Vivek

    Hi,
You don't need to use user exits for this purpose. What you need to do is to extend the validity of your credit checks in IMG.
To do this, go to spro Sales and Distribution -> Basic Functions -> Credit Management and in config for automatic credit control, select the right risk category.
In the config screen you will have a field called "no of days", here you define the validity of the credit release. For example if you it setup for 10 days, the system will pick up the release date and add 10 days for validity.
If backorder batch runs within these 10 days, it will not re-block the documents. If however runs after the 10 days it will block them.

  • BOM "valid from date" in transaction CSKB

The business process is like this -
    1. We create sales order ( VA01)
    2. In sales order, we enter configurable materials as items.
    3. Then we freeze/change the BOM for sales order and line item through t-code CSKB.
The problem is in CSKB, "Valid from date" of order BOM components is defaulted using the "required delivery date" in Sales Order. We want to default current date (system date) as the "valid from date". Please suggest how it can be done.
    Regards,
    Bijay

    Shailesh,
While creating the BOM have you used the change number ...? if yes then display that change number and check wheather do you have any alternative date mention in it.
check validity date of change number as well as BOM validity.
another reason can be you need to apply SAP note 1278790.

  • How to re-explde the BOM in Sales order

    Dear Friends,
In sales orer there is any provision to Re-explode the BOM in sales order.we have make some changes in BOM.Now we want to re-explode the BOM in Sales order so that BOM Components can be available in sales order.
There is any field available in sales order for that?
    Please relpy.
    regards,
    NITIN

    Dear Nitin,
go to VOV4 do this confioguration for item catagory determination.
    ZB01     ERLA               TAQ
    ZB01     ERLA          TAP     TAE
    ZB01     ERLA          TAQ     TAE
    ZB01     NORM               TAE
    ZB01     NORM          TAN     TAE
    ZB01     NORM          TAP     TAE
    ZB01     NORM          TAQ     TAE
here ZB01 is the order type
now you can see we used three item catagory TAP , TAQ and TAE
TAQ is the first level TAP is the second level and the final level is TAE.
now  for multy level explosion go to your item catagory
and go to bills of material tab in the field "structure scope" select "B-Explode multi-level bill of material"
then do a transaction and check

  • Sales Order Batch for MTO

    Hello SAP SD Gurus,
I'd like to know you inputs if it is possible to assign Batch Number at SO level for an MTO production setup. If i create a batch and assign it to the Sales Order item im ordering, will this Batch Number be carried over to the planned order and production order? Even before the actual goods are produced, they are already assigned to a particular batch. The purpose of this is to make the Batch Number serve as the uniting reference to all the sap documents from Sales Order - Production Order - Material Document - Delivery Documents up to Billing.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
Through standard way you cannot copy batch no to planned and production order. But through user-exit you can copy Sales order batch to Production order. Then when material is produced stock will be received against that batch no.

  • Report: Internal order+Batch number

    Hi All,
Is there any report which can show the internal order & Batch number together?
    Quick response will be appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi Sridhar,
I apologise for mis-stating the issue.
I would like to know if there is any reports with Internal Order numbers that allow me to add the Batch number field?
e.g KOB1 is an internal order report. But, I am not able to add Batch number field to it.
I need a internal order report to which I can add the Batch Number field.
    Thanks & regards.

  • BOM Explosion with order finish date

    Hi,
In transaction OPPQ it is possible to configure the BOM explosion date used by MRP and creation of a process order (see SAP NOTE 506345).
I suppose this setting is also considered when re-reading master data during release of an order.
The field BESAL can have the following values:
                BOM explosion number/order start date
    1     Order start date
    2     Order finish date
3     BOM explosion number/order start date
4     BOM explosion number/order finish date
What I do not understand is that value 4 also end up in using the order start date when re-reading master data. Here the function module CO_ZF_VALIDATIONDATE_DET is called which contains the following coding:
    + Festwerte Feld BESAL:+*
    * ' ' Seriennummer/Eckstarttermin
    * 1   Eckstarttermin
    * 2   Eckendtermin
    * 3   Seriennummer
    IF T399D-BESAL <> CHAR2.
    * Auflösung mit Starttermin
    u2026
    ELSE.
    * Auflösung mit Endtermin
    u2026
    ENDIF.
which says only use the Order finish date if BESAL has the value 2. The comment showing the possible values gives me the impression that SAP simply forgot to adapt this coding when splitting the value 3 (prev. only BOM explosion number) into 3 BOM explosion number/order start date and 4 BOM exlosion number/order finish date.
On the other hand the SAP Note mentioned above documents this behaviour.
Does anyone know the reason why value 4 (BOM exlosion number/order finish date) results in using the order start date ?

    hi,
The defination in OPPQ is only working for the MRP, when the planned order is created.
Then the explosion date will be copied from planned order to production/process order when you convert the planned order.
However, when the production or process order is created manually, or when you do a re-read master data process, then a different BOM explosion date process will be carried out as described in the SAP note 506345, it has explained the behavior clearly base on the different value of paramter:
    V_T399D_S-BESAL = initial, 1, 3 or 4
V_T399D_S-BESAL = 2 (Explosion with order finish date)
So there is no problem to have different behavior of planned order and production/process order.
    Regards,
    Rachel

Dear All, My client's industry required BOM and Production Order must be Multiple Inputs to Multiple Outputs. We propose to create customization program to work on it but client do not want any customizations. Any suggestions? SAP B1 8.81 PL13 Thank you very much in advance. Best Regards, Vivian

    Hi,
Please advice your requirement with an example. There is possibility to input multiple components to produce single finished product.
Not sure you have checked with SAP help file. If not refer SAP help file and below blog.

  • BOM Validity Using ECM

    Hello All,
We are currently reviewing the ECM functionality to assistn in BOM validity maintenance.  I have made the necessary changes in SPRO to activate this functionality.  My initial testing utilizing the Change Master and associating it with the BOM works fine.  However, the question I had was more around having to make retroactive changes.  I noticed that the system using the Entered or Created date from the transaction to determine the BOM validity.  Is there anyway to influence the BOM validiy to look at document dateof the transaction instead of entered date?  Has anyone run into this type of issue before?
    Thanks for your help.
    Gus

    Dear Sir,
That is what I have done for a material.
Apart from making Routing again after deleting the BOM, do I need to take care of any other thing?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rohit.

    Hi Krishna,
You can use change numbers to change independent (recipe) formula in the PLM-Recipe Management.
The object formula is assigned to the object type specification (type 60 of the change management).
For the object type specification the use of the object management record is not supported in the SAP standard.
Only the change documents are available.
    Best regards,
