Bonjour can't find wi-fi cameras

Took my computer devices and computer completely apart and moved them to paint walls. When I hooked everything up Bonjour can't find wi-fi cameras.

Anyone have a solution? I'm worried this is a hardware problem, and want to exhaust any and all software-related options before I go into re-soldering or anything like that.

i just can't find my ip cam on the network....? Its plugged directly to time capsule whoyh ethernet cabel. but nothing to find on my mac...?? its a sony sensor 2mp ip cam an i have iMac and time capsule and some iPhone and a hp printer on this network everything is working fine but i justb cant find the cam... please HELP :-)

becourse i can find the ip and mac adress from the cam on my Dell Laptop running on Windows vista
Is this setup as you described.. the camera plugged into the TC? Both Mac and PC plugged or on wireless from the TC?
What exactly is the IP of the camera?
What is the IP of the TC?
When you say you cannot find the CAM on the TC what exactly are you expecting?? Nothing at all will show up from the CAM on the TC when you have it plugged in by ethernet.
How do you open the IP camera to access its controls.. on the PC or does it use a special PC only software??is it just via a browser?
Have you tried opening it via browswer in the Mac?? if the layout is as you described and you can open it from the PC then the Mac will work exactly the same.. but cheap CAMs will not have Mac software. So this will only work from a browser.
butt on the Dell laptop i cant install airport tool? or can i ?
Of course you can install the windows version of the airport utility.. how does this help you.. I think you do not understand that the TC is a dumb hard disk in a router.. it offers nothing for your network.. it will never be able to see the Camera.. it is not smart enough to do anything but save files from a computer.

  • My Photoshop Elements  (8 and 11) can't find the connected camera.

My Photoshop elements (both 8 and 11) can't find the connected camera for importing pictures.

Does Explorer find your camera? If it doesn't then the connection isn't solid.

As an Oracle trainer, I consider the OBEs to be very important. I doubt that Oracle will get rid of them.
However, it takes time to make them. I suspect that they are created when a new feature needs to be demonstrated and the product management has the resources available.
I just wish they would make the original set from Oracle8i available. They provided some very important basics which have long since hit the archive pile.
I'm sure that some of the ACEs would be happy to upgrade them to Oracle10g/11g level. I know I would be willing to contribute to that effort.

The particular ways I synced angles in cs5.5 have been removed but I still need the stand alone multi-cam monitor and I can't find it.

For CS6 it's under the Window menu.  For CC7 it's no longer a stand alone window.  You call up the mode with the wrench under the Program Monitor.

  • Bonjour can't find Canon IJ driver but USB does

I've searched extensively and seen a lot of different versions of this problem, but no thread that answered my quesion.
I just upgraded my iBook 1.33 Ghz from 10.3.9 to 10.4.7. I'd been using my Canon iP5000 through my Airport Express for a year and a half, but now it won't work. I remember that when I first set it up, I had to make sure to connect it to USB first before using it with Airport, and it worked fine thereafter.
Now it refuses to find the driver. When I try to add a printer, it finds the iP5000 conntected to "Bonjour" immediately but can't find a driver. If I look in the folder of Canon options, there are many GiMP drivers listed, but none that work for my machine (any that I use cause the print to be far too light and/or don't see the sheet feeder tray).
I downloaded the most current driver from Canon, but they won't offer support beyond that because the iP5000 "isn't supported with Airport."
When I connect through USB, it finds the "Canon IJ Printer" driver immediately, but when I try to search for any such file manually, I can't find it anywhere. Anyone know where the heck that driver gets put when the installer installs it?

Thanks for the reply Greg. I'm confused then, because it leads you to believe that you can select a driver by choosing "other" in the add printer dialog.
Again, I already did used the combined updated to get to 10.4.7--that's what gave me the problem in the first place.
I checked the PPDs in the folder you mention and there isn't a single Canon mentioned.
I'm just not understanding why it knows exactly where to look to find "Canon IJ Printer Driver" when I'm hooked up through USB, but has no clue when it's through Bonjour.

  • Bonjour can't find installed driver

I am trying to set up in my office at work what I have working at home. At home I have an Airport Extreme Base Station with several Macs and a Dell laptop running without any problem off it. I have an Epson C88 hooked up to the Airport Extreme via USB and I am able to print from the Dell laptop to the Epson. I had to install the driver first with the Dell hooked up directly to the printer, otherwise Bonjour didn't recognize it. So today I tried to do this setup at my office. I have the same Airport Extreme connected to my iMac and also running a Toshiba laptop without a problem. I installed the driver for my HP 2600n Laserjet onto the Toshiba while it was connected to the HP printer. I was able to print to the printer fine. Then I connected the HP 2600n to my Airport Extreme. When I opened up Bonjour the HP 2600n showed up in the window but it says it is unable to find the driver. I reinstalled the driver without success. I tried using generic/postscript without success. I was able to print from my iMac via Bonjour to the HP 2600. And I was able to print from the Toshiba to my Canon MP620 which is connected directly to my iMac via USB. Bonjour recognized my Canon through my iMac but can't find the driver for the HP. What gives?

Thanks for the reply Greg. I'm confused then, because it leads you to believe that you can select a driver by choosing "other" in the add printer dialog.

  • IMac - can't find built-in camera

Can somebody help me, please!  I have iMac 14,3, Late 2013. After upgrading to Yosemite i can't find my built-in iSight camera (No video capture devices were found- system report).

Reset the SMC and PRAM 2-3 times back to back, instructions are in iMac SMC and PRAM reset. If it still cannot be found contact AppleCare.

  • My Windows XP AirPort util and Bonjour can't find any wireless device

I have both macbook and a PC laptop.
I just started using my TimeCapsula and all features (Internet gateway, access to the USB printer and the external harddisk) are visible and working fine when using my macbook.
My PC wireless card seems to be working fine too and I can access the Internet using the Airport gateway.
My problem is that Airport Util and Bonjour on my PC "can't find any wireless devices" (even though It is clearly working fine) and therefore don't detect/mount the external drive or the Printer.
    Thanks!

How do your Extreme and Express connect to one another? Wired Ethernet between the two, or wirelessly?
Try unplugging the Express. Does that change anything?
Wireless interference could cause the symptoms you're describing. Even though you did nothing to your wireless network, the presence of other wireless networks or introduction of nearby devices will bring interference where there was none before.
AirPort and Bluetooth: Potential sources of interference for wireless devices and networks
Try changing wireless channels; use "automatic" unless you have reason to use a specified channel. Try checking "interference robustness". Altering these settings may help, but they could make things worse.
If you are unable to configure a device over Airport, or changing a setting leaves you unable to configure it wirelessly, connect its Ethernet port to your computer's Ethernet port and Airport Utility should find it.
As a last resort, try a "hard reset" followed by re-configuring the Extreme, Express, or both. Start by removing your Express from the network. Re-configure the Extreme and see if that fixes things. If it does, add the Express to your network and re-configure it as well.
    AirPort troubleshooting guide
I open airport utility ... can not locate any of my wireless devises, airport extreme base,, airport express, apple tv, wifi printer.
AirPort Utility will only detect Apple AirPort base stations (Extreme, Express, Time Capsule) for purposes of configuring them. It is not designed to detect or configure other wireless devices like your printer.

  • How can I find where this came from? - start up disk almost full

Hi, my mac began saying this to me today "Start up disk almost full"
So I began deleting files. I deleted a lot via DiskWave.
But now Diskwave says I have enough space but my mac sure doesn't.
What do I do? What's all that 'other' stuff and where can I find it?
    Thanks in advance!

For information about the Other category in the Storage display, see this support article. If the Storage display seems to be inaccurate, try rebuilding the Spotlight index.
Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
              iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature. Then restart the computer. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of the data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as  Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Ask for instructions in that case.
See this support article for some simple ways to free up storage space.
You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) or GrandPerspective (GP) to explore the volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one. Note that ODS only works with OS X 10.8 or later. If you're running an older OS version, use GP.
Deleting files inside an iPhoto or Aperture library will corrupt the library. Any changes to a photo library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS or GP can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
    Back up all data now.
If you have more than one user account, make sure you're logged in as an administrator. The administrator account is the one that was created automatically when you first set up the computer.
Install the app you downloaded in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the corresponding line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
    sudo /Applications/GrandPerspective.app/Contents/MacOS/GrandPerspective
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders, sorted by size. It may take a few minutes for the app to finish scanning.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with the app, quit it and also quit Terminal.

  • My iMac can't find my panasonic camera

When I hook up my panasonic Mini DV palmcorder from the "to PC" port on the camera to my iMac thru the USB port, IMovie tells me to hook up the camera.  Camera is hooked up and playing a video.
