Bonjour help + clean uninstall and re-install of iTunes, Quicktime, and related components

I am using Win7 x64.
To make a long story short, I unistalled Bonjour.  When the next update for iTunes came out (Ver. 10.4.1), I was unable to update due to the error message: "Service Bonjour (Bonjour Services) failed to start.  Please verify you have sufficient administrative permission and try again" or something along those lines.  After trying several things to no avail, I finally did a clean uninstall of iTunes, Quicktime, and all related components as per http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923.  When I then tried to reinstall iTunes and Quicktime, I got the same error message.  I know people have had problems with Bonjour before, but I couldn't find any info on why I am getting this after a clean uninstall or what to do about it, so any ideas would be very much appreciated.
Thank you.

Dear Jason Maidment,
I've installed SAP BPC like this:

3.Install the preq SAP BPC
4.Install SAP BPC 5.1 software.

6.Try to create input schedules or report, please make sure BPC web, BPC excel is normallly running.
7.Continue to upgrade SAP BPC with the latest version.
for your cases please stop the IIS services. After that, the SAP BPC services, you look the name "Osoft..." on Window Services. Then, Uninstall Ms.SQL Server for the best result.
I hope my information can make you get good something.

  • This is a second try to get help. I need help to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop cc 2014

Bridge is not working well, I need to reinstall Photoshop cc 2014 .  Someone from Communities was suppose to help me.

    Hi John,
I used the chat "Creative chat support"  this afternoon at around 14:40
and the person, Karthik M , gave me a link to Technical Support.  I
guess he could not help me, but he said he understood the issue.   With
the link "Help, Adobe Installation problems",   I will follow the
instructions  to clean ps cc2014 with CCleaner and reinstall the app.
It looks quite complicated  but I will give it a try and hopefully succeed.
You have to understand when reading my previous messages, the issue is
no longer "Retreiving Photoshop CC" but reinstalling Phoshop 2014 to try
    to repair Bridge.
    Thanks for caring,

After following the instructions to completly uninstall iTunes and related components, I restarted computerand reinstalled iTunes, Then I received the error message that iTunes couldn't load because program file Apple Application Support (deleted as per instructions) wasn't present. What now?

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Itunes error code 42037. Help me uninstall and install please!

I recently updated to OS X Mavericks. No complaints, other than my itunes. I am not sure if it worked immediately after I downloaded the new software but I can't be sure I used it. Mostly curious about how to actually uninstall and install again without loosing anything. I have an external, that was my first step so I might be set. Any other suggestions to combat my corrupt version of itunes less drastic than uninstalling and reinstalling?

Hi, reinstalling iTunes should not mess with your music et cetera (however some users have suggested on here that it did), but keeping a backup is always recommended anyway.
You can visit this link to install iTunes, the older seemingly corrupted version will be replaced...Troubleshooting iTunes installation on Mac OS X - Apple Support

  • I need help cleaning a mac without installing any kind of software

Hi my girlfriends Mac computer is lagging and cannot be cleaned, Its currently updating but a very slow rate. It is possible that one of her family members may have opened a Virus. Nothing moves or works but i need something that dosent require installing. For example on Windows you can open the run box and type in a simple Clean Manager and it cleans all old junk files. Is there something similar on Macs that could help me.

The first thing to do is diagnose the problem and not try
    treating the symptoms.
First, open Activity Monitor and look at how much memory
is installed and how much of it is being used.  Also, look
at the amount of PageOuts (or swap used if Mavericks).
Also, in activity monitor, look at the CPU tab and click
the %CPU to sort the list in highest usage down.  See
if there is any item using an unusually high amount of CPU.
Next, how much free disk space is there?
In addition, since others have access to the computer, something
may have been installed by them that is slowing things down.
To this end, boot the computer in safe mode (hold down shift key
when booting).  This disable all 3rd party drivers and add ons
and also disable startup items.  If things speed up in this mode
then will need to do further troubleshooting to find out the culprit.
Note that booting into sake mode will also clear system many
caches so bootime may be a little slower doing this.

  • Silent install of iTunes+Quicktime

I'm trying to do a silent install of itunes using the following command...
    iTunesSetup.exe /s /v/qn
and it is silent (no dialog) until it displays the "Welcome to the iTunes 6 Installer" window. After clicking Next, it goes back to installing silently.
How on earth do I stop that initial screen from displaying? I want to be able to deploy itunes automatically with the user not seeing anything.
I can decompress the iTunesSetup.exe with WinRAR and install just QuickTime silently from the msi but the iTunes MSI still displays this annoying welcome screen. I'd rather do it natively than have to repackage with WinINSTALL LE.

    No.
I setup new machines at work on a regular basis for deployment to staff and to make things easier, I am in the process of setting up some automated installs of software at the end of the unattended windows installation. Everything else works fine except iTunes.

  • Can anyone help me uninstall and reinstall iTunes?!

when i try to get into iTunes, it says this action is only valid for products that are currently installed. So when i try to install it, it says the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click ok to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in the box below.
When i do that neither option works. I then click cancel, and it says "the older version of iTunes cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group"
When i try to uninstall it, it says the same thing (the feature you are trying to use is on a network that is unavailable...) and then says the intallation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and you can access it.
    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These sorts of msi-related troubles have gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try reinstalling iTunes. Does the install go through properly this time?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • Help to uninstall and reinstall

    I have Safari 3.0.3.522.11.3 installed -- can't update it. can't really use it. Can't uninstall I get a message missing Safari.msi in C:\documents and settings\all users\application data\apple computer\installer cache\safari 3.522.11.3\safari.msi
I would like to clear it off and reinstall the latest release... but right now I'm stymied!

I had no problem uninstalling using the Add/Remove section of Control Panel. Removed it there, went to Start / Search and got a couple of the orphan files and then used the Registry Cleaner in CCleaner to dump some of the leftovers in the Registry.
Really hated to get rid of it as I did like the look, some of the features and particularly the text "brightness" and "fullness" compared to FireFox, but was having a lot of problems loading the homepage and a couple of other issues. I realize it is still a beta release but I thought they would have posted some fixes on a more regular basis.
Will probably go back sometime and try it again when I see a newer version number.

That's funny!  "Don’t use window cleaners, household cleaners, aerosol sprays, solvents, alcohol, ammonia, or abrasives to clean iPad."  That basically excludes every liquid on the planet, including water!
All I can say is that I've been using a couple of light spritzes of Windex on my iPad when it gets really dirty, and it has not hurt it one bit.

  • Clean Uninstall and Reinstall of Outlook Integration

    Hi Experts,
I am having some problems with OI on one PC.  In other threads, the solution has been given - do a clean install.
I have removed the Outlook Integration add-on from Add-On Admin with SAP.  How can I reinstall it?  There is no ARD file on the server or client.
    Thanks
    Greig

    Hi Greig,
    a) For 2007 version navigate to
(path to installation files of current PL)\Packages\Add-Ons AutoReg\OutlookIntegration
    b) For 2005 version or lower get latest Outlook Integration Pl from [http://service.sap.com/sbo-swcenter|http://service.sap.com/sbo-swcenter]
The *.ard file you'll find easily in the extracted folder
Make sure you have installed Outlook Integration Server first, since this will create needed templates for OI
    Kind regards

  • Uninstalling programs and related components

How do I uninstall programs and components from this machine. It was given to me with all the original owners stuff on it.

    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS. Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term. Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default. You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, Easy Find, instead. Download Easy Find at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder. Usually with the same name as the program or the developer. The item generally has a ".pkg" extension. Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications. Here is a selection:
    AppZapper
    Automaton
    Hazel
    CleanApp
    Yank
    SuperPop
    Uninstaller
    Spring Cleaning
Look for them at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

But, I think it is difficult to write like this for each component.
I am looking for an optimized solution so that the change will be only in one place.
so that, It wont leads to change so many pages or so many places.
And i have the following assumptions to do this. please let me know the possibility.
1.Implementing custom UI class, extending the JButton/JMenuItem (As the BasicButton/MenuItemUI class does not have setEnabled() method to override) and putting this in UIManager.put("ButtonUI/MenuItemUI","CustomClass).
2.If there is any possibility to achieve this, by just overriting any key in the UIManager
3.By setting any client property globally.
My requirement is to do this only at one place for entire the application. So, that we need not change all the buttoins, sya some 30 buttions are there in a dialog, then we need to override each button class.
    Please suggest me the possibilties..
    Thank you

    Hi camickr ,
I know that to set the font we have to use component.setfont().
But, as per my requirement,i am not setting any font to any component in my application.
i am just passing HTML text along with FONT tags to all the components in my Application.SO, in this case we will get bold letters and that problem fixed when we set swing.boldMetal = false in UI Manager.
But actual problem irrespective of font settings is when ever we use HTML rendered text, when the button or menuitem is disabled, then that one will not be changed to gray color. i.e., it still looks like normal controls, even it is disabled.(It is also reported as bug)
But, as per my knowledge we can fix by overrding setEnabled or paint() methods for each and every component.
But, if we do like that, for an application that has 200 buttons or MenuItems, it is difficult to follow that approach.
So, We should find a way to achieve that only in one place like using UIManager or other one as i mentioned in previous posts if possible.
I hope you understood what my problem is exactly.
    Thank You

  • Help!  JSP and Bussiness components Project Error

I have created a project with bussines components and jsp.
When a user connect to login page, the other users data change
    to the last user connected.
    (Note:
I does working with entities, views, viewlinks)

    Arturo,
I assume you are using 3.2 of JDeveloper. When you say that
other users data changes, what do you mean? Please describe the
    symtoms.
For example, User A connects to a JSP and is browsing the
Customer data. User B connects to the JSP and changes some data.
Does User A see it before User B commits? If it shows after User
B commits, that is expected behavior. If it shows before User B
commits, then that means that they are sharing a session in the
    web server.
What kind of web server are you using. If it is the builit in
sever in JDeveloper, then that is the problem. The built in
server in 3.2 does not support sessions.
