Bonjour isn't letting me transfer files

I'm currently at work, and I'm just trying to send my coworker a file through iChat, with a Bonjour account, and it keeps failing. I am somehow still able to do screen sharing with her AND she is able to send files to my boss, who is in another room. UPnP is enabled, no one has any firewalls up. I just can't seem to figure this out. It seems that they are the only two computers who can send each other files. If someone could please help, that would be so great!

Hi,
If in iChat > Preferences > Alerts you have the AppleScript set on File Transfers to Auto Accept then reset them on each computer.
Have you tried sending them in different ways ?
Dropping on a Buddy with No Chat open.
Dropping in a Chat (Text Field) and sending with no accompanying text.
Same with text.
From the Buddies Menu with Text Chat open
Right Click a Buddy (same menu)
Dragging File over a Video Chat.
Try adding a Public DNS server such as Google's 8.8.8.8 in to the System Preferences > Network > Advanced Button > DNS tab
Repeat for other computers.

Lightroom is not a file browser. If it thinks the photos are in folder A, you need to tell Lightroom that the photos are really in folder B. This is not a copy or a move. This is a "re-connect".

The camera connection kit can only be used to import photo/video files from a camera, SD card or USB flash drive. You can't import other types of files. You can't export any type of files using the camera connection kit.

Why won't my Apple Time Capsule Let Me Transfer files over?

Ok so I'm using Vista and wanting to back up my data but my Apple Time Capsule won't allow me to transfer anything more than 4Gb at a time and Windows keeps displaying an error message saying there isn't enough space when there is clearly 990Gb left!
I have to press "skip" just to get rid of the message or else it keeps coming popping back up. But when I go to view the files the folders are there but not the files and if there is any files in there they are all corrupted and won't play/view properly.
Although I can save files to it directly if downloading something and choosing a location although it does tell me it may not be able to save anything larger than 4Gb although there isn't an option to format it to NTFS??

MMS card for Nokia 6230i won't let me transfer fil...

I have a 6230i phone with the standard MMS card inside, and when I connect it to my iBook G4 Mac computer, the card comes up and everything, but when I go to transfer a file to it, it says "The item could not be moved because "Memory Card" could not be modified"
Why do I not have the permission to add files to this card?

Please check the card's disk format. Mac OS can write to FAT(16/32) but it can only read NTFS.
You can use disk utility to reformat the card to FAT. Make sure everything is backuped before reformat.

DW isn't letting me upload files

I've been making my own website for years and this is the
first time i've ever had this problem.
The 'connect' button that is sopposed to enable you to upload
files individually is not, well, THERE.
ok, well it's there, but it doesn't work. it might as well
not be there.
i know it IS connected because my files that are already
uploaded are visible. i can edit them and such, but then i can not
re-upload them. WHY is this happening? it's driving me crazy. i've
been trying to figure it out for about 3 hours now and i've

are correctly completed, what have you entered into the Host directory field?
The Host directory field tells Dreamweaver to tell the server which directory on the server (there are many) contains the website files.
Should be whatever your webhost gave you
e.g. (leave it blank) or html or public_html or web or something else.

It's impossible to restore anything from a device, unless it was purchased on iTunes.
You must MUST MUST keep a backup of your library.
To restore any purchases, go to the iTunes Store and click on "Purchases", which will let you download Music, Apps, and Books that were bought through iTunes. Unfortunately, anything that wasn't can't be transferred.
iTunes will sync back purchased music from the iPhone when you plug it in.

Cannot copy, paste, or transfer files in PC Suite ...

I'm using Windows Vista and PC Suite 6.84 with a 6133 phone. Up until today I've been able to go into Windows Explorer, copy files on my PC, and then paste them into phone memory via the PC Suite File Manager (and vice versa). Now when I choose "copy", I cannot paste the files onto the phone. When I go into File Manager and copy the files there, I can't paste them to my PC -- in fact, I can't even paste them to a different folder on the phone!!! What is going on here? Is there any way to let me transfer files again? This is a huge loss in fuctionality of my phone...

Nevermind, this turned out to be a problem with Windows Explorer (!!!) rather than PC Suite... everything is running smoothly now. If anyone else has this problem, try going to Task Manager, finding explorer.exe, right clicking and choosing End Process, then going to Run and type in explorer.exe to restart it. This fixed the problem for me.

There is another option if the Macbook will start up in Target Disk Mode.
Restart the computer while holding down the T key. If you see the firewire symbol moving around on the screen you can connect this one to another one in TDM. You will need a suitable cable to connect the two Macs.

I had my pdf files copied into ITunes on my PC but when I clicked on a pdf file to copy it I thought the sidebar would appear with my IPAD name and then I would drag it over. I didn't realize that I needed to click-and start dragging it towards the left-hand side for the sidebar to appear. It worked like a charm - THANKYOU!!!

Connect the computer to another Mac and put it in FireWire Target Disk mode, or use the Disk Utility to clone the drive or image specific folders with the USB drive as the target. After you've copied off everything you want, you'll likely need to erase the drive and reinstall the applications.

Transfer files to MacBook from external drives & MacPro without FireWire

I just realized my Macbook (13 inch aluminum) doesn't have a FireWire port. WHY? I can't believe I didn't notice when I bought the thing. I assumed that a FireWrire port was standard like USB. I know that I can transfer files from my MacPro Desktop using migration assistant. However, it doesn't let me pick and choose which files to transfer. Is the best plan to transfer everything all at once and then delete what I don't want from the MacBook? I've also got a lot of individual files & folders on external FireWire drives that I'd like to copy to my MacBook. Is there a way to hook up an external FireWire hard drive to my MacBook? Are there FireWire to USB adapters? Am I going to have to transfer these files via USB memory sticks, CD-R's & DVD-R's? Or maybe it would be a better idea to dump them on my MacPro, use Migration assistant to copy it all at once and then pick and choose what to keep on my MacBook.

I assumed that a FireWrire port was standard like USB.
It is, just not on the aluminum Macbook.
It can be done with USB, but it is slower and less reliable.
The hard drive is fairly easy to remove on the aluminum Macbook. I would remove it and install it in an external Firewire enclosure temporarily to transfer your files quickly and reliably, then put the drive back in the Macbook.
Firewire allows two operating modes. One is asynchronous, like USB which suffers from latency, bus contention and collisions.
The other is isochronous mode, and it lets a device carve out a certain dedicated amount of bandwidth that other devices can't touch. It gets a certain number of time slices each second all its own. The advantages for audio/video should be obvious: that stream of data can just keep on flowing, and as long as there isn't more bandwidth demand than the wire can handle, nothing will interfere with it. No collisions, no glitches.

iPhoto won't see albums that you've created in the Photos app on your iPad, nor photos that were synced to the app from a computer - it will only see the photos/videos that are in the Camera Roll album and, if you've used the camera connection kit, photos/video in the Imported Photos & Videos album.
If you want to copy photos from a particular album on your iPad then there are iPad apps such as Simple Transfer that let you select the photos in an album and copy them to your computer via your wifi-network.
