Bonjour not displaying messages

We use Bonjour in my office to communicate only within the office. Sometimes (may 20% of the time) I'll send a message, and it won't appear on the other persons computer. We have desktops and laptops, and some may have different OS, but all are 10.4 or 10.5.... Any thoughts? Thanks!

I have two Macs, a G4/1Ghz dual Processor running Leopard and a MacBook Pro 2Ghz also running Leopard.
Obviously they can connect in iChat via Bonjour, if I have iChat open on both.
I would say that sometimes they don't "see" each other and I don't seem to be able to find out why. Nothing has changed it seems on either Mac and I have not changed the routing modem's settings either.
As I have both within hands reach I only test the odd thing now and then with Bonjour in iChat. I have not seen what you report with the Bonjour iChat, other than listed above when they two computers don't seem to find each other for Bonjour Shares either.
I have seen similar in AIM based text chats. This seems to be cured by deleting com.apple.ichat.AIM.plist which then when iChat is restarted force the AIM login to be remade.
There is no equivalent Bonjour .plist connected with the iChat ones.
I would not know which, if any, visible .plist Bonjour is associated with.
The table in this Article http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1629 says Bonjour needs port 5353 on the UDP Protocol to be open on a Local Network
iChat adds 5297, 5298 on UDP and 5298 on TCP to this (From this article http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1507?viewlocale=en_US)
Some modems and routers have features called DOS (Denial of Service) and SPI (Stateful Packet Inspection) that both work on a threshold basis.
They cut the one port the data level has risen too high. (normally the fact that Video Chats are two way as opposed a a one way Video Stream).
I have not heard of this effecting Local data traffic though.
I can not see that your Bonjour data would peak now and then to create this or that it would reset itself.
You could ask in this forum http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1222 where some people may know more about the finer workings of Bonjour itself.

Why is Mail 6.2 not displaying messages from my Exchange account?

I have a new 13" MacBook Air running Mountain Lion and I'm noticing that most of the time my Mail inbox is not displaying messages from my work Exchange account; however, it does display messages correctly for my Gmail account. I've included a screen shot of what I'm experiencing.

I have the same problem, as does a coworker. It happens, for instance, if I click on another mailbox (such as Junk) then go back to the inbox. Our company uses Exchange. Quitting mail usually fixes it. A rebuild of the mailbox will too. Only happens on my Mac at work, not my Mac at home (connected via VPN).
Another problem I have is with mail not syncing. Mail I have deleted from another device (such as on my Mac at home or my iPad) does not get deleted from my inbox at work. Sometimes they'll go away when I click on them. Other times they won't go away and the only way to delete them is to rebuild the mailbox.
And lately I have had problems with attachments. Attachments sent from my Exchange account at work show up as .eml attachments in my iCloud account and mime attachments on my iPad or as a string of characters (20-30), not as an attachment. This happens whether sent from home or work.
I have our IT department looking into the third problem (which is the most vital one for me). I'll report the other two annoying problems and see what they can figure out.

TS3276 Mac Mail on OSX 10.8.2 not displaying messages

Since upgrading to OS X 10.8.2 I'm having a lot of problems with my email (works fine on other devices I have). The main one is that isn't not displaying messages, it shows there's 3 new mail messages, but the message list and preview window are empty. This doesn't happen all the time but when it does nothing I do fixes it. Then after a while it will fix itself, then the issue recurs again.
Does anyone know how to resolve this??

I would suggest you try opening "Mail">click on "Mailboxes" in the Menu Bar> and select "Rebuild" from the list. That may solve it.

Email does not display message body

The message body of emails displayed fine for months but suddenly does not display message body of any email. Can only see to, from, subject line on right side of screen. Blank body.

Try a reset:
Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple logo.

Font and Photo not displaying messages

When using messages in OS X Mavericks my buddies photo is displayed against the bubble, howevermy photi is not displayed next to my bubble. I have checked and I do have a photo associated with my account. Also if I checnge the look and feel of my bubbles by changing the font type the change works for my buddies bubble but no matter what changes I make to my own bubble it always displays in the default font.

By Default the image used in Messages is the one associated with the Buddy Lists.
If you have only the iMessages account in use it will fall back on using the Pic in the My Card in the Contacts list - this is turn is likely to be the pic you chose on creating the Login Pic shown in System Preferences> User and Groups > Your account.
That is to say that when you set up the Mac or the Mac User Account you chose the Login Pic.
This is then added to the Contacts App as the My Card pic when you add your Name to the details.
That pic is then used as the Default in Messages (including the iMessages account) until such time you change th Buddy List pic.
For this you need to enable at least the Bonjour account in Messages > Preferences > Accounts
Then from the Window Menu you can display the Buddy List(s). (They can be separated out by the setting in the General Section (of the Preferences) that refers to "showing all Buddy List in one List").
Once there is a Buddy List Pic then the iMessages account uses this.
The Menu item that seems to refer to change the Pic only refers to Changing it for the Buddy lists - but as a consequence it then uses it for the iMessages account.
FONTS.
The Font is changed in Messages > Preferences> Viewing.
However the background colour has to be taken of Automatic first.
The Background can be any of the options or the item at the bottom of the drop down allows you to alter the colour to anything you want.
THEN you can change the Font and it will stick and not revert to Helvetica.
The Font Text colour can also be changed.
These Details are written to a file called com.apple.ichat.plist
If you have lost the ability to Write to this item then they also will not stick.
Let me know if this is the case and we can pursue that if the other options don't work.

ESS Leave Reqest WD not displaying messages

Hello guys,
The ess webdynpro for leave request is not displaying warning messages like collisions, or no absence quota exits etc. These messages do get displayed while creating an absence in PA30.
I've debugged the FM PT_ARQ_REQUEST_CHECK which is not returning any messages.
The portal is on 7.4 and ECC is on EHP7.
Can anybody point me in the right direction and what/where to look for?

Mail not Displaying messages

For a few days, my Mail.app has not been displaying messages. It's kind of a nuisance, I receive the title and the sender but it does not load any of the body. I've changed from Wi-Fi at many different access points to Edge and have even left it for hours at a time and it just does not load. I have a screenshot here
if anyone has seen it before. Thanks for your help in advance.

If you haven't already done so, try doing a reset, which is done by pressing and holding the Home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release - ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so. A reset does not affect any data or settings.
If no change after a reset, try deleting and recreating the email account on your iPhone.

Apple Mail not displaying message content

Since the last few days, Apple Mail has suddenly stopped displaying message content in the message body pane. If you want to read an email, you either have to double click it to open it in its own window or else Quit Mail and reopen, which works for a while. This problem has started just 2-3 days ago. Any suggestions?

This is a real problem that I have been experiencing in the browser while checking mail. I will log into iCloud adn when I click on an email, only part of the email will display. On the iPhone, the email displays fine. it's only when I log into iCloud from a desktop broswer that I am experiencing this problem. This is not good and should be fix...please. This has been going on for more than a few days. Is there someone we should alert.

Message in forms AS10g does not display message

We use the message command to display messages when debugging forms. In AS10g, the content of the message is not displayed. Has anyone found a workaround to this?

The console window is set to the proper window. If I duplicate the line of code, it works... twice. I.E.
message('before commit');
message('before commit');
commit;
message('after');
message('after');
This works but you get two messages. Code it once and you get only an acknowledge button on not the text. I've also tried all combinations of the acknowledge option and using a pause after the message.

Messages application not displaying messages

Hi everyone, i am hoping to get some help here.
anytime i miss a call, the missed call log takes over my messages application (even though i did not enable call logs to be displayed in my messages application). So when i open my message or email application i will not see my emails but my missed call logs will be displayed there until i do a hard reset.
This is starting to annoy me. Is there a fix to correct this error?

PCP0. not displaying messages errors and lights advice.

Hi Gurus,
I have one question:
In transaction PCP0 (Display Posting Runs) when we process the document, we go to report u201CDisplay Payroll Documentu201D and If in this report we go to Menu Goto --> Revision Item, we can see the document consistence.
If the document processed is inconsistent, shouldnu2019t appear messages error with some lights yellow and red to advice the user? For example, if there is some problem with the cost center, it must appear a red message right? This is not happening.
The user told us that when he verified the simulation document, he used to see this kind of warnings. And now there arenu2019t any advices, so the trial balance sheet becomes unbalanced.
So someone now´s how can I resolve this issue?

In MEP system, the step 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 are being ignored.
This is very critical because the users donu2019t have access to the screen that show if the document is correct or incorrect, and therefore the trial balanced sheet becomes unbalanced and they donu2019t know why.

PC suit does not displays messages and contacts

I have Nokia N73 and I have installed Nokia PC suite which displays my images and videos but not my contacts and messages. When I open my contacts in PC suit it displays error that Refreshing contact list fail and during synchronizing PC suite gives warning that your mobile phone is not responded. Please tell me possible suggestions to solve this issue.

Not sure if you've still got the problem, but try the Nokia Suite Cleaner and check the Owner permissions on the user profile in C:\Users or C:\Documents and Settings and its subdirectories.

Mail not displaying Message Viewer window

Hi,
Just installed Lion on a 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Mac. After installing Lion, Mail refuses to display the message viewer window. I can open 'file > new message' and 'file > new note' windows but when selecting 'new viewer window' nothing happens, the same if I select 'Mail > Preferences'. Mail seems to be connecting and downloading messages okay but I can't view them!
Any help appreciated!

Simular problem:
Its iMail Version 6.3 (1503) which comes with a fresh install of 10.8.3.
Any email base64 encoded is corrupted or not shown.
eg Any message from and Exchange Client that has both plain text and html in the same message where the plain text section is Base64 encoded.

The work arround it to switch to the classic view, open the message there, then switch back to the modern view and the text of the message magically appears. Its probably something to do with the way in which the new iMail processes message bodies, that the older style viewer had fixed. (You can switch between classic view and modern view under the Vieweing preferences tab)
It also seems to impact sent messages or anything thats been base64 encoded.
Hopefully its such a major bug it will be fixed soon. (lol, like some of the bugs in iMail on 10.6.8 were fixed ?)

Inbox does not display messages. I can highlight a message and click on it and it comes up in preview pane.

I open TB and new messages download into inbox. the inbox pane does not show any messages but if I hover the cursor over the pane it highlights a message and when I click on it the message opens in the preview pane. How do I get the messages to show up again in the inbox. Thanks

lets try forcing the issue.
It is the fact that is is only a single pane in the three pane view that has me. If nothing displayed then I would be happier.
open your profile folder by going to the troubleshooting information on the help menu and clicking the show folder button
create a new folder called chrome
open notepad and insert
treechildren:-moz-tree-cell-text(read)
color: #D50000 !important
Save the file in the new chrome folder as userChrome.css
That forces read mail to be a rather ugly red color. I am looking for answers, perhaps if this also does not work we need to look as something like corrupt font files.

Mail not displaying messages from self as Unread

Mails that I send to myself have suddenly stopped showing up as automatically unread in the inbox. Neither does the dock icon for Mail show the red circle indicating a new mail. Similarly with Ical mails alerts to me. Any clue which setting has got messed up?

Once upon a time, with POP access at least, addressing a Gmail message to self would not be presented for download, and only available on the server view via browser. I can't remember when or if I tested IMAP access.
Just now I sent a test, and on my two Macs it is presented as Read on both.
Gmail is neither pure IMAP nor pure POP, and it can be weird.
