Bonjour not working after last patch installation ?
My iMac shares two external usb-drives with my daughters macMini over our home-LAN. Since the last Security Update, the connectivity has broken down:
* the mounts fail,
* the iMac/macMini shows-up in the finder but the shares do not show up,
* sceen-sharing fails using Bonjour (but not : open vnc://<ipaddress>)
* ping-ing using the Bonjour name
* iChat Bonjour doesn't seem to be working neither
It looks, to me, as if there was something wrong with Bonjour - can anybody help ?
Ok. Problem solved apparently. It seems to have been a network problem, although i haven't understood what. Maybe it just got mixed up. The problem just went away after I completely reconfigured the macMini's network.

Man are all the apps crap tooWelcome to the Forums!
First try a Safe Boot... holding Shift key down at bootup.
If that doesn't help...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

I posted this under the wrong section about a week ago, so I'm reposting my issues here for convenience. I'm a Creative Cloud user. I have been using the 64-bit version of Photoshop 13.0.x on my system successfully for several months now. I have Windows 7, 3rd gen (Ivy Bridge) core i7 processor, 32GB of RAM, a 1TB Hard Drive, and am using an NVIDIA GeForce 670 video card.... so my system has plenty of processing power. Several nights ago, my Adobe application manager pops up on start up (as normal whenever there's app updates to be done) and says there's an update available for Photoshop (version 13.1.2, I think.. or something close to it, anyway) and Bridge. So, as normal, I apply the updates... Everything completely successfully according to the Applicatino Manager. However, when I try to start photoshop after the update, I get this window that pops up immediately upon double-clicking the Photoshop 64-bit icon on my desktop: "Adobe Photoshop cannot run on this computer because this version of Photoshop requires Windows 7 or later." All I can do is "X" out the box to make it go away, so I did. Weird because obviously I have Windows 7 and all of my other software works great on my system, and I have Lightroom 4.3, other Adobe stuff, Serif software, ACDSee, etc... and I get no problems out of ANY of them running on my officially licensed version of Windows 7. So just for the heck of it, I uninstalled Photoshop completely and then reinstalled it using the Adobe Application Manager. It installs version 13.0, which then allows me to open and use Photoshop as normal. I proceed to "check for updates" from within the program, and it takes me to 13.0.2 I believe. I can use Photoshop as normal after that. Here's what I think is funny... I can check for updates to my heart's content after updating to 13.0.x. The program thinks there's no updates available after 13.0.x. The only way my system knows there's a later version out there is if I power down my system and restart it. Then and only then will Adobe Application Manager come up and tell me there's an update available (13.1.2) which, if I chooose to install (and I did), takes me back to the error that I mentioned earlier: "Adobe Photoshop cannot run on this computer becuse this version of Photoshop requires Windows 7 or later". Soooo with all of this said... DOES ANYONE know how the updated version of Photoshop (13.1.2) for Creative Cloud Subscribers checks to see if it's running on a Windows 7 system? For whatever reason, it doesn't think I have Windows 7 after updating to it, and I'm stuck! I know if I contact Adobe Support, they're going to want to uninstall ALL of my Adobe software of which I have alot, and then reinstall everything... and quite frankly, I think all that is a bunch of crap! It's plain and simple... Photoshop works BEFORE the update, and will not open due to this error AFTER the update, so there's some issue with the updating procedure that causes Photoshop to not recognize my Windows 7 system, and I just pray that SOMEBODY out there might be able to help me change some setting on my system that will cause Photoshop 13.1.2 to actually work!
UPDATE: I decided to check the 32-bit version of 13.1.2, and it works! So it looks like this error is limited to the 64-bit version. That just makes no sense at all to me.
UPDATE # 2:
I followed Jeff Wright's advice about checking the installation error log. I had no errors... An error log doesn't even exist in my case. The funny thing is that the 32-bit version works beautifully! After reading this thread, I thought that the problem might be related to my video card driver. Although I don't see any logic to that, I decided to go out to the NVIDIA website and update my driver. The driver I had was only 3 months old. Anyway, I did it. I then uninstalled Photoshop using the Windows 7 uninstall program utility and reinstalled Photoshop. I get the same error message when I try to run the 64-bit version of 13.1.2.. something to the effect of "this computer must be running Windows 7 to run this program." However, the 32-bit version loads and works perfectly. Since I'm now at my wit's end, I decided to uninstall Photoshop again, but this time using the REVO uninstaller utility hoping that somehow that the Windows uninstaller wasn't working correctly. I completely uninstalled it, reinstalled it using Adobe Application Manager and get the same results. As long as I stay at 13.0.x, Photoshop works fine in both the 32-bit AND 64-bit editions, but as soon as I using Adobe Application Manager to update to 13.1.2, the 64-bit program won't run. I just don't understand how the 32-bit version will run perfectly, but the 64-bit version won't. THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY !!! -

We have implemented ESS/MSS and in one of the MSS scenario to create a new personnel chnage request we have an Adobe interactive form (WD) which actually validates the users Social Security number by calling an RFC in the ECC 6.0 and updates the form's filed on the front end. There was an issue of "Expired SSO Ticket" and to resolve this SAP recommended to apply SAP_JTECHS (SAPJTECHS13P_14-10003467) and SAP_JTECHF (SAPJTECHF13P_15-10003468) patches to fix the problem. But after applying these patches Adobe form for PCR has stopped working and it just gets hanged, form appears on the front end and when user enters the values and hit enter to validate, it doesnt communicate with the Backend ECC system only the SAP status picture keeps rotating, i turned the trace ON and checked it, its not at all communicating with the ECC system. Where as in other systems where we have not appplied the pacthes, those are working fine. One of the error i noticed in the server log is as below:
jco.client.mysapsso2=AjExMDAgAA5wb3J0YWw6QkNPTFNUT4gAE2Jhc2ljYXV0aGVudGljYXRpb24BAAdCQ09MU1RPAgADMDAwAwADU1BEBAAMMjAwODExMDMxNjU3BQAEAAAAEAoAB0JDT0xTVE//AQUwggEBBgkqhkiG9w0BBwKggfMwgfACAQExCzAJBgUrDgMCGgUAMAsGCSqGSIb3DQEHATGB0DCBzQIBATAiMB0xDDAKBgNVBAMTA1NQRDENMAsGA1UECxMESjJFRQIBADAJBgUrDgMCGgUAoF0wGAYJKoZIhvcNAQkDMQsGCSqGSIb3DQEHATAcBgkqhkiG9w0BCQUxDxcNMDgxMTAzMTY1NzQwWjAjBgkqhkiG9w0BCQQxFgQUfD7V7TS!58cgzIFyucxCSL4ltuswCQYHKoZIzjgEAwQvMC0CFA4Q0!Rr2xYFPwFwXz8WeFF1UALlAhUAmHiTdHw!3s4Q!Jc9gDyY4QSvxa4=, user=, mshost=sapdv2.company.com, r3name=DV2, jco.client.type=B, jco.client.trace=0, group=SRS, codepage=1100}

Can someone please suggest what could be the possible reason for such a problem with Adobe form and whats the way out to resolve this. Appreciate a quick help in this regard.
Thanks in advance,
Sarabjeet.Hi,
We had the same issue after the Patch update to SP17 in both Backend as well in Portal, to resolve my colleagues had a look at the standard forms which were working and found that because of the patch update the script used in the custom forms was changed and not the standard and
on event trigger which was processed in the container they replace the script to the standard one. and it started working.
But this is not the solution we are looking at solution on having the same version of script as in the standard even after the patch update.
So to your point to resolve compare the scripts in both standard and customized forms and do the same.
And also have a look at the SAP Note: 1109392
.... this is a temporary solution.....
Hope this helps.
Cheers-

When you copy 10-evdev.conf file into /etc/X11 you completly override previous system configuration. It's the reason copying synaptics configuration file into /etc/X11 fixes the issue
Defining default system configuration in /etc/X11 with previous xorg was a mistake, now it's fixed.
Wiki should be fixed. It's not a packaging bug, but a configuration bug.
@lordheavy
I agree with you that the new xf86-input-synaptics package is using the right configuration scheme, however it is breaking the functionality on every installed system. It was a packaging bug, which is now fixed, but it has to be handled manually by most users of previous versions. That's why I won't re-open the bug report FS#41589. Instead, I am asking here: shouldn't this change be notified to the users just like it has been done for most breaking changes on archlinux frontpage news?
By the way, thanks for your great work. -
YouTube Feature Not Working After Installing Patch
The YouTube feature won't work even after installing the latest patch. I have also found that the Jeopardy and Millionaire widgets are very touchy and crash easily. There is nothing on this blog that offers any help in how to get this working. Adobe must know it's not working with all the comments on this blog, so when are they going to do something about it. I would really like to use this feature in my training, but I cannot. Please Adobe, fix this.
I saw this poster's comments on the YouTube channel video for this interaction. Maybe it will help ...
My friends, it´s working, but not in the first 4 options of previewing. You need to publish at your site for testing, or, in most cases, it works too when you select to preview in web browsesr (F12). I didn´t test yet in HTML5 web browser preview (F11), but I think it works there too. And it´s so fine! -

Tecra M10-10z - 3G does not work after Win 7 installation
Tecra M10-10z I have installed Windows 7 pro 64bit
Everything is configured correctly, but connection 3G does not work: the message is " no network"
with Windows XP is ok.
I did not find firmware updates or similar.
Is there someone who can help me?
tksHi
In order to use the 3G you should firstly check if the 3G ericsson module was properly installed.
In case there is an yellow exclamation mark visible in the device manager, the 3G driver should be reinstalled.
I found on the Toshiba EU driver page:
[Ericsson 3G Win 7 driver|http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?service=EU&selCategory =2&selFamily=5&selSeries=148&selProduct=813&selSho rtMod=null&language=13&selOS=30&selType=295&yearup load=&monthupload=&dayupload=&useDate=null&mode=al lMachines&search=&action=search&macId=&country=all &selectedLanguage=13&type=295&page=1&ID=71930&OSID =-1&driverLanguage=42]
Furthermore ensure that the 3G RF Power Control Utility has been installed properly.
The 3G RF Power Control Utility" activates your 3G on startup.
This tool can be found here:
[3G RF Power Control Utility for Win 7 64bit|http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?service=EU&selCategory =2&selFamily=5&selSeries=148&selProduct=813&selSho rtMod=null&language=13&selOS=30&selType=322&yearup load=&monthupload=&dayupload=&useDate=null&mode=al lMachines&search=&action=search&macId=&country=all &selectedLanguage=13&type=322&page=1&ID=73658&OSID =-1&driverLanguage=42]
Hope the 3G network would functions after the reinstallation of both tools. -
IWork (Pages) does not work after last system update!
since some days (after last system update) iWork programms are not starting any more!
macosx 10.7.5 new update
solution atemd: cancel p-ram and p-list, re-installing iwork from DVD and update it from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1563
macbookpro 2.53 ghz intel core 2 duo, 8 gb ram
any body an idea what i can do to fix it?hi - i think you should not use 'xhost +' - it's not secure and you shouldn't need it....
in your .bashrc or .cshrc or whatever, you should have setenv DISPLAY .0 or the equivalent export...
then ssh -Y hostname should be all you need... no xhost, and not setting DISPLAY every time...
could you enter the following command from a terminal window and post back the results?
grep X11 /etc/ssh*_config

Auto-lock is not working after last update
After installing the newest IOS update the auto-lock features quit working. It was set to auto-lock after 5 minuets of inactivity, I have reset that to 2 minuets and it still does not auto-lock. If I forget to manually lock it after using it my battery runs down.
About the same time that I did the IOS update I installed the Printer Pro app from the App Store. I have deleted this app from my IPAD but auto-lock still does not work.Have you tried resetting your iPad?
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).

Bluetooth volume not working after last firmware update
After the latest firmware update I'm not able to adjust the volume. Both when i use the volume rockers on the side, or try it via settings, the indicator shows changeing volume - but there are no difference. VERY ANOYING!
any solution planned for att this issue?
Edit; just notice that the bluetooth volume is working on headset but not on devices with only media playback. (Working with SBH20 but not with AV-receiver or bluetooth speaker)I can confirm that my Z2 bluetooth volume control stops working when i use it with my logitech bluetooth speaker.
Bluetooth volume control does not work when I use Spotify, TuneIn Radio Pro, SoundCloud or Walkman. However the seemingly same bluetooth volume control works when I use Poweramp.
At first I tought that the problem was related to streaming music but since the Walkman bt sound volume does not work on local media files it is not the case.
The bluetooth volume control works with my Nexus 7 and Lumia 1020.
Does anyone have heard from Sony regarding this issue? -
Wireless not working after VMware kit installation
After installing VMWare kit, my wireless network card is not working - any clues?
there is something very wierd here. Let me recap what I KNOW is happening.
1) I can connect to WAP at boot no problem. This is true 100%
2) After sleep systems fails 100% time from 5:30 AM to 10:00PM (not sure why)
3) There have been no changes to WAP (confirmed using checksums)
4) This started immediately after 10.4.10 install.
What I have done that does NOT work
1) Repair disk perms (no errors)
2) Repair keychain (no errors)
3) Remove Parallels (expired Demo)
4) Remove/recreate network
5) Run commands indicated in other replies
What I have done that showed hope
1) If I create a new location I can use that location to recover from exactly 1 sleep. Subsequent sleeps fail for that location. once all locations are used a reboot is required.
2) Issued ipconfig setverbose 1 and watched logs. It seems that the Mac never Sees the incoming packets. I can rule out WAP issues as the Dell d620 sitting right next to the Mac is indicating packet reception at 100% (and I am only 10ft from WAP with direct line of sight).
3) issued ipconfig getpacket en1 in both working and non-working states. Woring stated returns expecte DHCP response from server. non-working state returns nothing. as in not even a blank line.
So as I see it the Mac does not appear to be reenabling the reciever post sleep. Changing locations seems to re-init the airport card but only once (why once?) enough to get it working. What I don't understand is where in software land I would even start to look. I find it hard to believe that there is a coincidental sync between an OS update and a hardware failure on a 4 week old machine. -
Audio volume control in quick start bar not working after last HP update
Volume keys at top work fine but clicking cursor on quick start icon for volume control does nothing now.
Hi ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!
I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP ENVY 17 Notebook and issues with the Audio after Windows 10 update. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that might need updating. Restart the Notebook after updates have been done. If your computer is having problems finding and installing operating system updates, try using the Windows Update Troubleshooting tool to fix the problem. Here is a document that shows how to update drivers that are not working correctly with Windows 10. I hope this helps you. Thanks. -
HDR is not working after a new installation of Photoshop
After a system crash of my computer I had to reinstall all programms. In the past I made a lot of HDR pictures, I will say I know what i have to do. But after the new installation of PS when I merge some photos with HDR pro the result is much more darker then the darkest of the braketing photos, and there is no way in the ACR (adobe camera raw) to get an acceptable result. I will show you screen prints:
Do you have a solution for this?
Many thanks...Chmeva wrote:

This normally, is a sign that your iPod Hardisk is dying. Do the iPod Disk Diagnostic as posted by tt2. it wont fix your problem, but it will help in troubleshooting.
Have a nice day!
