Bonjour Service Error Event ID 100

Anyone have any idea what would be causing this error in my windows logs?
it happens when my computer wakes for nightly backup.
mDNSCoreMachineSleep: mDNS_Unlock: Locking failure! mDNS_busy (1) != mDNS_reentrancy (0)

I also ran into the ´2 identical instances´ message in my event viewer. I found out that a few days ago an update of iTunes for Windows had installed Bonjour version 3.0.0.2. It looks like the Windows Migration Assistant comes with its own Bonjour version 1.0.105 and that this causes a conflict. I deinstalled both Bonjour 3.0.0.2 and the Migration Assistant and then reinstalled the Migration Assistant and my ´2 indentical instances´ messages were gone
However, the Migration Assistant still does not work and I found my current case is exactly described in https://discussions.apple.com/message/15740526#15740526

  • Itunes bonjour service error (Windows 7)

    Hi,
I have a lot of errors Event ID 100 in the log file (Bonjour Service)
    The samples are below
    Task Scheduling Error: m->NextScheduledResponse 28
Task Scheduling Error: Continuously busy for more than a second
    Task Scheduling Error: m->NextScheduledEvent xxxx
    Task Scheduling Error: m->NextScheduledSPRetry
Since iTunes installed these errors continue to occur and cause Windows hung up (blue screen or restart)
Any idea how to fix them? Try to remove iTunes + Safari and re-install them but the errors still happen.
    Thanks,

    Gabe,
You see a lot of suggestions on the Windows/Apple forums by unregistering and reregistering the windows installer services ;  msiexexec /unregister  +  msiexec /regserver. Or to create a new windows account/profile.
This didn't work for me, what was working is a uninstall of  iTunes and the related Apple software, Apple application support, Apple mobile device support and Apple software support by using Windows programs and features.
I als cleaned up the personal and all users profile directories  c:\users\<user>\app data\roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes.
    Good luck

  • Bonjour Service Error 87 - WSARecvMsg failed (87)

iTunes and Bonjour Print Services Installer cannot update themselves on my Win Vista x86 SP2 machine. I keep getting an error message about Bonjour Service failing to start.
I can manually start the service by quitting the installer application, opening Services (Start > Run > services.msc), right click Bonjour Service, Restart (or Start if Restart is grayed out).
But it seems that the installer attempts and fails to restart the Bonjour Service during software update, returning error 87.
    Event viewer shows:
    Product Name: Bonjour
    Product Version: 2.0.0.36
    Event ID: 100
    Event Source: Bonjour Service
    Locale ID: 1033

Related Error with MsiInstaller: "Product: Bonjour -- Error 1920. Service 'Bonjour Service' (Bonjour Service) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
I have disabled Windows Defender. AVG Antivirus doesn't seem to be blocking anything. Other ideas? I can try uninstalling and reinstalling all Apple products, do you think that will fix the problem?

  • "bonjour service" error message when installing-HELP!

I have tried installing iTunes 7.6 about 5 times in 3 days. Each time I get this message:
"Service 'Bonjour Service' (Bonjour Service) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
I am using the administrator account, I have deleted my Temp folder and removed the previous version of iTunes, all of which were suggested to me on the iTunes troubleshooting page.
    What else can I do?!

  • Bonjour service error

Try to install iTunes for 64-bit Windows 7, but Bonjour service failed to start.

As it's already mentioned "The Bonjour networking protocol sends and receives network packets on UDP port 5353."
So just make sure this port is not blocked by the firewall and not used by any other application in your system.
    1. Turn off your firewall and try to restart installation.
    2. in case it's stil failing, try to figure out what else is blocking port 5353 :
         - run cmd comand as administratior
         - in cmd console run "netstat /aon" and find the PID of application using port 5353 there.
         - in Task Manager (Processes or Services tab) find appliaction name by the PID from the prev. step an shutdown this app or stop service.
    3. Try to reinstall itunes.

  • Lots of Bonjour Service errors 100 in my windows 7 log file

    Hi there!
I have two windows 7 PC's, and both of them have a *lot* of errors 100 in the log files.
Most of them look like "Warning: Removed port mapping request 0101497C Prot 2 Int 9970 TTL 7200 duplicates existing port mapping request 0068EADC Prot 2 Int 9970 TTL 7200", where the 7200 sometimes is a 0.
Tried to open port 5353 in my Norton Internet Security, but after downloading BonjourPSsetup.exe and running it and rebooting, the problem persists.
I use Bonjour for ServeToMe, to stream to my iPad 1.
How come there are so many errors and how do I fix them and prevent them happening again?
    Kind regards,
    Eelco

I just google with "ORA-44003: invalid SQL name" and found below link:
    http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/10g/dbms_assert_10gR2.php
    SIMPLE_SQL_NAME
The SIMPLE_SQL_NAME function checks the input string conforms to the basic characteristics of a simple SQL name:
The first character of the name is alphabetic.
The name only contains alphanumeric characters or the "_", "$", "#"
Quoted names must be enclosed by double quotes and may contain any characters, including quotes provided they are represented by two quotes in a row ("").
The function ignores leading and trailing white spaces are ignored

I get the above error in my event log. Multiple times in a row and my Home sharing is not working.
This just started today was working fine yesterday. Even tried to restore to a restore point from 9/25/13 and it did not fix my issue. Also have seen
ERROR: mDNSPlatformReadTCP - recv: 10053 seems to be related.
       540: ERROR: read_msg errno 0
This is occuring on a Windows 8 Pro Machine
    Any help would be apreciated.
    Thanks,

Same for me, when connecting iPhone, shutting iTunes down. Also iTunes don't recognize iPhone when it's connected and visible in My Computer. It's working after about 3-4 reconnections. I see the problem is no only for me.

  • Event ID 100 in Event Viewer

After upgrading ITunes to version 10.2.2.12, I have been receiving error messages in my Windows 7 Event Viewer. The errors occur when the PC goes to sleep.  I realize I can disable Bonjour in Services but prefer to keep it enabled if possible. I am using the Apple Extreme Base Station and the Airport Utility cannot find the AEBS when Bonjour is disabled. I have tried reparing the Bonjour and ITunes installs but that did not help. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

If the UPSA service is started then you could try using the
Forefront Synchronization Service Manager to troubleshoot the issue, it may shed some light on what is going wrong during the sync.  Have a look here for more information:

    Hi,
This issue may be caused by corrupted files or application conflicts. I recommend you to run "sfc /scannow" at the command prompt to check the system files. In addition, you can perform a clean boot to see if any service is causing the issue.
If the above cannot solve it, maybe you can find if there is any hotfix for the application or uninstall the application.
    Best regards,
    Susie
