Book from multiple catalogs

Hello,
I want to create a book wich contains fotos from multiple catalogs. How can I do that?

Put all the applicable photos in one catalog, and then create your book.  If you've already edited the photos, you might need to consider writing the settings to xmp and using import/export catalogs to transfer the photos into the single catalogs.
But then I'd also question whether you actually need multiple catalogs?  Is there a particular reason you're using different catalogs?

  • Need help loading pics from multiple catalogs on Photoshop Elements 3

    In the past, I've synched my photos from Photoshop Elements 3 to my video Ipod without a problem, but I only had one catalog in Elements. I created a new catalog and wanted to upload some of the pictures in the NEW catalog to my ipod. The trouble is, when I go into the photo preferences in my Ipod, it only shows the albums in the catalog I'm in. I want to load some pics from both catalogs. If I switch to the second catalog it erases everything it loaded previously from the first catalog. Does anyone know a way to upload from multiple catalogs on my Ipod? Is it possible to do?
    Thanks!

  • IPhoto book from multiple events.

    How do you create an iPhoto book from multiple events/albums? I start making a new book based on an album, but then want to add pictures from another event and another album. Can this be done and how?

    Sure - once you create the book it is totally disconnected form teh source - to add simply drag photos from any source to the book project in the source pane on the left

  • Making a photo book from multiple albums

    Hello.
    I recently returned from week long trip and have created photo albums for each individual day (9 albums)
    I now want to bring them all into 1 photo book but cannot seem to figure out how to do it. Do I have to just copy everything into one huge album?
    Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
    Matt

    In case you might want to order a second copy of the book at a later date the following tutorial describes a way to archive the library containing just the photos in the book for easy retrieval: Old Toad's Tutorial #9a - Archiving an iPhoto 7/8 Book for Editing and/or Ordering at a Later Date. With this method you don't need to worry about losing the book due to removing photos from the library, deleting the book in the library, etc. I do it for every book I create and order.

  • To get GAL of non default address book from multiple accounts in outlook

    I have two domain accounts configured in my outlook, for example [email protected] and [email protected]
    There are 2 address books (Please refer to the picture attached). I want to show user to SelectNameDialog by adding the recipients from non-default account's address book. But it adds the names to the selectnamedialog from the default address book and displays.
    C# code : Outlook.SelectNamesDialog snd = app.Session.GetSelectNamesDialog();
    How to get non-default account’s address book programmatically.
    ThankYou for your suggestion.

    It seems you need to verify your account. See How

    void DisplayGlobalAddressListForStore()
    Outlook.Folder currentFolder =
    Application.ActiveExplorer().CurrentFolder
    as Outlook.Folder;
    Outlook.Store currentStore = currentFolder.Store;
    if (currentStore.ExchangeStoreType !=
    Outlook.OlExchangeStoreType.olNotExchange)
    Outlook.SelectNamesDialog snd =
    Application.Session.GetSelectNamesDialog();
    Outlook.AddressList addrList =
    GetGlobalAddressList(currentStore);
    if (addrList != null)
    snd.InitialAddressList = addrList;
    snd.Display();

    Setting the InitialAddressList property is the programmatic equivalent to selecting an AddressList from the drop-down list for Address Book in
    the Select Names dialog box.
    In its default state, InitialAddressList is the AddressList that has the property AddressList.IsInitialAddressList set
    to True. IsInitialAddressList corresponds to setting Show this address list first in the Addressing dialog
    box, which is available by clicking Tools, and then Options in the Address
    Book dialog box.
    See How to: Get the Global Address List or a Set of Address Lists for a Store for more information.

  • A book from several catalogs ?

    Book documents seem to be fixed to one particular image catalog - or just do I miss the workflow? I want to make a book with photos of various catalogs but without merging all those catalogs into one. - Can this be done?

    No - you'll have to bring the images for the book into a single catalogue. As you have found, there are many disadvantages of breaking up control of your pictures into separate catalogues.

  • Online sharing with new/multiple catalogs

    My PSE catalog recently became corrupted and since I have 35 GB of photos it was in any case not being very responsive.  To speed things up I reorganized my subdirectory structure and created multiple (smaller) catalogs.  I would now like to share some files online but my 2 GB online limit is already devoted to previous backup/synchronization from a now non-existant catalog (and lost albums).  I'm afraid that if I select syncing with what is currently in my library at photoshop.com things will get confused (with old albums from online being added to my new catalog or who knows what), but I am reluctant to delete the online albums (since that is now the only place they exist).  Actually, I started syncing today and a listing of all the albums online were immediately imported into PSE, but since those albums don't exist in any existing catalog on my PC, the photos in those albums are not visible offline.
    I would love suggestions about how to proceed.  Should I delete the (online) albums now listed on my PC.  Do I have to start all over online?  Should I give up trying to share photos from multiple catalogs?
    I now have 5 catalogs (all new) and would eventually like to share photos from all of them.  My impression is that the online feature was not designed to deal with any of my present circumstances (i.e., new catalogs, multiple catalogs, large photo collections).
    I don't rely on the online backup feature by the way.  I back up my collection on an outboard hard drive.
    It seems crazy to give up on photoshop.com as a way to share photos and use fliicker or Facebook instead, but that may be the easiest way to go.  Any help would be appreciated.

    If you are running any firewall, try disabling that. Make sure all computer's are set to same workgroup. Also turn on built on firewall on vista, and xp. Turn defender off on vista. Then try to ping and check for replys.

  • Moving images from 1  catalog into another/book

    I am creating a photo album via LightRoom and Blurb.  I have ~ 250 of my images available to me in this catalog.  I am trying to move an additional 50 images from a different catalog (or Quick Collection) into the book catalog.  Can someone please tell me how?

    I may be misusing my terminology.  To hopefully better summarize:  I have ~300 images from a collection (called Myanmar slideshow).  I created a book from this collection.  Only 240 of the images transferred (I understand due to limits by Blurb to 20-240 images).  I then manipulated the book pages, so there were multiple images per page.  This reduced the number of pages to ~95.  That would theoretically allow me 145 more pages in the end.  So I have 55 images from the original collection (slideshow) that I would now like to add to the book (this book is now a collection?).  I have tried click and drag, import from another catalog.  If any one knows how to move it over, I would greatly appreciate it.  If blurb would allow me to create a second album and then they combine them, that would work for me, but I can't seem to communicate with a human on that end.  Thanks in advance for your advice.

  • How do I have catalog on an external drive and update tags from multiple computers?

    I have catalog on an external drive but the tags are on the computer. Is there any way that tags can be placed on the external drive so that other computers can access and update?

    In case its just the tags that you want to have in one catalog that is easy.From multiple computers save the tags to the xml file.Copy the xml file to the external drive where the catalog resides.From there you can import the tags into the catalog.
    Command for exporting tags ->Save tags to file in the tags panel of the application
    Command for importing tags->From file

  • How do you move pictures from one catalog to another?

    How do you move pictures from one catalog to another?  I have just got the program and have moved pictures into the default catalog. I have now created several new catalogs and want to move pics from the default into the new catalogs. I don't see this answer in the general help or my "dummies" book.

    It's not a good idea to create multiple catalogs. For one thing, this defeats the purpose of the Organizer as a way to search for and find your photos; the search can only operate within a single catalog. Also, there are no functions in PSE that work across multiple catalogs. And even though you can "manually" combine the catalogs if you so desire, you lose information such as collection/album membership, stacks, version sets, creations and a few other things.

  • Selecting data from Multiple Partitions in a single select stmt.

    Hi all,
    My Database is very large & my tables are partitioned.
    My question is:
    1) If my data is spread across multiple partitions, is there any way to select data from multiple partitions in a single query?
    If we dont mention partition name also it works fine, but perofmance wise it will be very slow. (Using EXPLAIN PLAN)
    (Note:I dont want to make use of Union concept, i want to do it in a single select statement)
    For ex:
    qry1.sql:
    select empno from emp_trans partition (P012000)
    This above query(qry1.sql) will work fine.
    qry2.sql:
    select empno from emp_trans partition (P012000,P022000)
    The above query(qry2.sql) will return will return the following error:
    ORA-00933: SQL command not properly ended
    If anybody has any solution for this, pls mail me immediately.
    Thanks in advance
    bye
    null

    All my queries are dynamically generated. All my tables are also indexed partition wise based on date field. My question is, if i want to mention multiple partition names at the time of generating my query(select), then with parformance will be good. I have refered some books, inthat what they say is to use UNION concept, i dont want to use that, instead i want in a single select statement.
    Thaks for ur reply

  • How do I move images from one catalog to another?

    Having imported all of my image library into Lightroom as one catalog, I've realised that it would be more convenient to break this large catalog into several smaller ones. I am unsure how to best achieve this.
    Should I (or Can I) after creating a new catalog, move the relevant images and their folders from the original catalog into the new catalog, or do I delete them from the original catalog first before re-importing them into the new catalog? If the second option is correct, will the images retain the keywords and edit adjustments made when they were in the original catalog?
    On the other hand, is it possible to simply create a new catalog and import the relevant folders into that? In effect, having two different catalogs, with one containing some of the same folders as the other? Again, will they retain the keywords and edits?
    Thanks in advance.

    Without more detail, I am skeptical that this is a good idea.
    If you have one large catalog, and your photos are properly keyworded, then a simple click to the right of the keyword line gives you "Virtual Catalogs". It shows you only those photos with the keyword you just selected. So, today you can have a virtual catalog for Auto Shows, tomorrow you can have a virtual catalog of your trip to Italy, the next day you can have a virtual catalog of all of your beach photos. The possibilities are endless and don't require you to predefine how you split the catalog.
    There are no functions that work across multiple catalogs. If you ever want to do a search to find photos in catalog 1 and photos in catalog 2, you will not be able to do so.

  • Saving string  from multiple clients on a server data structue

    I have a server which receives updates from multiple clients ( in this example, football scores which are updated periodically by the clients.)
    When the server receives the scores it needs to store them and at certain time intervals send the complete list of scores to multiple terminals at various locations.
    I am approaching this task in stages...
    stage 1.
    ..create the clients and server ...test the clients can send the data and the server can receive the data and output to screen..
    this is completed
    stage 2...
    a/ on the server side store the received scores in a data structure (ArrayList<String> is what I'm thinking.)
    b/ periodically output all scores to the screen (maybe every 30 seconds) and empty the ArrayList..am looking at the Timer class for this part..
    stage 3
    create the monitors and output scores to monitors periodically..
    ======================================================
    right now I'm at stage 2a ie trying to store the received scores in a data structure.
    i've created a method saveScore in the StoreScore class which is called by the StoreScore run method...
    The saveScore method creates an ArrayList and adds the score to it...
    Question
    does every thread create a new instance of storedScores and therefore the scores are stored in a multitude of data structures?
    I think the answer is yes and if so then this is not the solution...
    What I'm thinking is , as all scores can be outputted to the server screen via System.out.println, is there not a way of saving all these scores in a single data structure?
    The code below is the server code..
    any advice much appreciated....thank you
    /*=============================================================== */
    import java.io.*;
    import java.net.*;
    import java.util.*;
    import java.util.concurrent.*;
    class ScoresServer1{
    final static int portNum = 1234; // any number > 1024
    final static int numThreads = 10;
    static ExecutorService pool;
    public static void main(String[] args){
    pool = Executors.newFixedThreadPool(numThreads);
    System.out.println("Server running ...");
    try{
    ServerSocket servesock = new ServerSocket(portNum);
    // for service requests on port
    while (true){
    // wait for a service request on port portNum
    Socket socket = servesock.accept();
    // submit request to pool
    pool.submit(new StoreScore(socket));
    }catch(IOException e){}
    class StoreScore implements Runnable {
    BufferedReader reader;
    Socket sock;
    public StoreScore(Socket clientSOcket) {
    try {
    sock = clientSOcket;
    InputStreamReader isReader = new InputStreamReader(sock.getInputStream());
    reader = new BufferedReader(isReader);
    } catch (Exception ex) { ex.printStackTrace(); }
    public void run() {
    String message;
    try {
    while ((message = reader.readLine()) != null) {
    // System.out.println("latest score: " + message);
    saveScore(message);
    } catch (Exception ex) { ex.printStackTrace(); }
    public void saveScore(String message){
         ArrayList<String> storedScores = new ArrayList<String>();
         storedScores.add(message);
         Iterator<String> t = storedScores.iterator();
              while(t.hasNext()){
                   String s = t.next();
                   System.out.println(s);
    }

    does every thread create a new instance of storedScores and therefore the scores are stored in a multitude of data structures?
    I think the answer is yes and if so then this is not the solution...The answer is yes. However, threads can share data, if they were properly synchronized. You should read the threading tutorial before creating a lot of hard to debug mistakes.

  • Can you transfer an Kindle e-book from a computer to the ellipsis and will it work after transfer?

    I have purchased an e-book from Amazon and it downloaded to my computer.  Is there a way to move e-books between these two devices?
    If it can be moved can one still read the book on the new device or on both of them?

    Amazon allows Kindle books on multiple devices. The number of devices allowed may vary depending on the book, however I believe for most books it is up to 5 devices.
    You don't really transfer books from one device to another. You simply go to the Kindle store on the device you would like to read the book, look at your Kindle library on that device. If you have already purchased the book on your account, it will be listed in your available books. Simply click on the book and it will start downloading. If you already have the book on your limit of devices it will inform you of that fact. You can simply go to one of your other devices and delete the book from it and then download it on your new device. If you ONLY have the book on your computer and want to download it to a Kindle e-reader, you should have no problem with it being on too many devices, though.
