Book reviews in iBooks

Not all of the reviews for books are showing in iBooks... For instance only 2 of 10 are showing. Can you help?

I have books on iTunes and all my reviews are gone on all my books.
What's up Apple???

  • I am writing a book review in iBooks

Using my ipad2  I read a book, gave it five stars, then entered the text for a book review. How do I submit the review. I moved the keyboard expecting to see a submit button. There is no oblivious way to submit my review. I need some help here. Thanks in advance. I am stuck.

FYI: You may terminate a specific app by just quickly double clicking the home button (this action displays the apps currently running at the bottom of the screen that you have control over), then select the app you want to terminate in this case iBooks by holding your finger on the app icon until you see the red dot with the minus, then simply touch the red dot and the job terminates cleanly without having to reboot the system.

  • How can I promote my book in the ibook store?

Hello, I recently submitted an Ibook for review which got accepted but would like to know what would the requirements be to promote the book in the iBook Store and what assets would I need?
    Thanks
    Basil

You must add the itunes redirect tag within the <channel> element of your feed. Its doubtful that a 3rd party app would support this tag, but its possible. If you have access to the actual xml file, you can add the redirect feed manually using any text editor.
    <itunes:new-feed-url>http://yournewdomain.com/podcast.xml</itunes:new-feed-url>
The itunes redirect tag simply tells iTunes users where your podcast has been moved to, and updates their local settings accordingly. The next time they visit your podcast, they will go directly to your new feed specified in the redirect tag.
For non-iTunes users, the itunes redirect tag doesn't help. Thats where the 301 redirect comes in, however it is a bit complicated depending on the type of host your podcast is on. If you don't want to tackle the 301 redirect, keep reading.
One method of updating non-iTunes users...if you can still post an episode to your old feed, then one option is to post a text file that directs people to your new feed. You could also post a brief audio clip stating the same thing. Leave this episode up for a couple of weeks and then kill your old feed.

  • Book Review Name

How do I change the name that shows up in iBooks when I write a book review?

The instructions concerned CDs; the DVDs work in a similar way:
However, from your follow-up i get the sense that you want to "rip" the DVD in order to view it away from your computer, for example on your iPod, iPad or other mobile device. There are ways to achieve this but the main concern has to do with the status of the DVD. If it is a commercial DVD (educational or otherwise notwithstanding) it is probably copyright protected, which means that it is illegal to rip the files since the encryption code to protect is there to prevent piracy. I am not about to impugn your intentions by imputing nefarious goals to you, but the Digital Rights Management concept is instituted to protect the intellectual property of the copyright owner. You are allowed to make an archival copy for safekeeping; it would be better to ask among your tech-savvy friends for the method since it is contrary to the Terms of Use to suborn illegal actions here.

  • I enter reviews in iBooks, but they never appear. Any advice?

I enter reviews in iBooks, but they never appear. This happens regardless of the device (all Apple) or OS I am using. I am asked for my Apple ID and password, then given the screen to enter the review. I enter a review that is within the accepted length (having discovered that the review won't appear in the box if it is too long), enter my title, select the number of stars. . . hit Send and it appears to. . . do nothing. The wheel spins in the background, making me think something is going on, and it eventually disappears from the screen. But the review never shows up online - not days, weeks, or months later. How can I resolve this please? I think it would certainly help iBooks prosper if the potential buyers could see reader reviews and the number of stars given to a book... Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • How do I open make iBooks regognize two books created in iBA as different books/files? (iBooks opening separate books as the same file)

I am trying to load two different books created in iBooks Author into iBooks. These books were exported instead of uploaded to the iBookstore, therefore I download them and then open with iBooks on an iPad.
    Here is my problem:
When I download a book (Book A), it opens in iBooks correctly. If I download a second book (Book B),  instead of opening  Book B, iBooks re-opens Book A. This also happens vice-versa if I delete Book A and then upload Book B. Essentially, both books cannot be loaded in iBooks at the same time, and iBooks treats the second download/open attempt as the second book being opened, when in actuality it opens the wrong book.
When I looked at the authoring files, I saw they had the same title listed in the Book Pane in iBA. Even when this title is changed, the books fail to open correctly in iBooks.
Has anyone run into a similar problem? Also, I am wondering if legacy meta data is a possible reason for iBooks to open the same book twice instead of loading and opening the new book? (if this is the case, is there a way that this legacy meta data can be deleted)?
Thanks in advance for your help/support.

    Update: Solved.
Either creating a new file or saving the old as a template file & renaming it solved my problem.

  • How can I delete the purchased books list in iBook?

How can I delete the purchased books list in iBook?

    Hi,
Yes you are miss understanding the problem.  To clarify. The problem is not how to delete the book from a device, it is how to delete the puchase (i.e. the history).  You can hide it in your account settings, but you cannot delete it. So if you buy something on a shared account (i.e. a family account like mine), your children can see and download any of your puchases - forever.
Some will say it's for your protection.  A bit like the shop looking after your receipt, so that you cannot lose it.
However, I thought that as part of the data protection act, you could ask for this information kept about you to be deleted, but this doesn't apply to Apple purchases.  Believe me I've tried.

  • Is there any way to embed the pdf file in the book created in iBooks Author to make it available to be downloaded or sent to email? So that the user can print it out.

Is there any way to embed the pdf file in the book created in iBooks Author to make it available to be downloaded or sent to email?
I'm making the book for children and there is one chapter providing coloring pages. So I wish to attach pdf files that allow users to download it at the end of chapter so that  they can print it out. Been searching through discussion, I've found some advice about taking screen snapshot page-by-page > then send the pics from photo album to email. However, I'm wondering if there's a way that make the process easier.

Warehouse that PDF on your own server, then link to it from your book.

  • How do I send my book reviews to the newspaper from Mac to Microsoft Word?

I've been asked to send my book reviews to the newspaper in Microsoft Word.  How do I do that with an AppleBook Air?

compose the review in word (this is not included, you need to purchase it if you do not already have it) then attach it in an email to the newspaper.

  • I created a book at the Ibooks author. But there are pages where the number of the page does not appear. How I can solve this problem? I thank you very much for any tip.

I created a book at the Ibooks author. But there are some pages which the number of page is not visible. What can I do to see the number of the page?

    Have you changed the template?
Some pages may not have numbers in place as default.  If you have changed the page or the template page, you may have added a object which as pushed the number out of view, or an image may be in a layer on top of the text.
If you select one object on the page...then go to Edit, select all, you should see the outlines of any content no matter that content may not be seen. Look at the bottom for a page width rectangle outline.. IF its there, you need to shuffle the content until you find that box, and use Arrange > bring to front.

  • EPub conversion of a book made by iBooks Author ?

To get a book made by iBooks Author, into the iBookstore, a ePub format has to be "available" when applying for a iTunes account
(Able to deliver book content in EPUB format, passing the latest version of EpubCheck)
Does iBooks Author convert to ePub ?
Or is this ePub format not required when using iBooks Author?

    Hello Niki,
It's all seems a bit confusing doesn't it? Here's my explanation ... Historically, to add a book to the Apple iBookstore, the file needed to be in epub format and pass a valadition check. So, we all learned how to do that. Now, Apple has added a new format, .ibook. To make books in this format all you do is create a book using iBook Author. There is no need to convert ibooks made in iBooks Author into epub. They meet Apple's specifications. In fact, ibook is a type of epub.
So now we all have to ways to get books into the Apple iBookstore: epub AND iBook Author.

  • HT5071 Can I create a book using the IBooks Author word processing software, save it as a PDF, then have it professionally printed by an offset press to sale in brick and mortar stores? If so, is this procedure free me from any IBooks restrictions?

Can I create a book using the IBooks Author word processing software, save it as a PDF, then have it professionally printed on an offset press to sale in brick and mortar stores? If so, is this procedure free from any IBooks restrictions?

It's your content, under your control.
If you output as an .ibooks file, and you want to sell it, the store is the only outlet, otherwise, you can do as you wish.

  • Can I sell books made with iBooks Author in the UK iTunes store?

    Hi all,
I'm a UK-based musician who publishes a range of tuition books on playing the bass guitar. I've spent the last few months devleoping one of these books in iBooks Author, and the end results are really impressive. I submitted the book to the iTunes store last week (after setting up a US Tax ID etc) and it was approved in the US store yesterday. Here's a link to the relevant page:
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/book/bass-players-guide-to-scales/id534940432?mt=13
My question is, is there any way I can make this book available to customers in all countries? I filled in all the info/pricing etc for all countries when I uploaded the book, but it's only approved for sale in the United States so far. Is there just a delay in the other stores being approved or can it only be the US for textbooks? I notice that the UK iTunes store does not have a textbooks category. Am getting worried now that I shouldn't have put it in the Textbooks category, although I don't remember being able to choose another option.
    Any help greatly appreciated!
    Cheers
    Stuart

It is possible to publish books created in iBooks Author outside of the US. They will just not be able to appear in the Textbooks category as it's currently a US only category.
I can see in the UK store that you've got two editions of the same book for sale. One has screen grabs and is clearly filled with iBA features for £9.99 and the other at £6.49 with no preview images which I assume is in standard ePub format - both are in the Arts & Entertainment -> Music category.
    Congrats!

  • What is the best name for a book written by iBooks Author?

    Hello,
I just wonder what we can call the book written by iBooks Author? Because, iBooks Author is limited to iPad and it has lots of multimedia and interactive contents.

Name it something that makes you happy. Look around the store and on the iBooks bookshelf on your iPad to see the range of names is beyond imagination.
