"Book Setup" settings not saving with book.

I have a book of reports, I would like them to collate based on "Member Selection" and not "Reports". However, when I make this selection in "Book Setup" and then save the report, this change does not save. Any help?
Thanks!

If anybody reads this with the same problem, pretty sure I have solved the problem by COMPLETELY uninstalling X-Fi from the computer using the guide here on this site and re-installing all the X-Fi drivers and ap

  • Page Setup Settings Not Saved

    My custon paper seize setting under 'User Defined Paper Size' that I 'save' are not in fact saved. I am printing a series of images on 11" x 13.5" paper with my Epsdon Stylus Photo R3000 and these setting do not remain as I go to a new print.
    All these images have been printed previously with my Epson 2400, which i replaced with the 3000. When the 'Print' dialog box opens and the imates indicates the 2400 as the printer, and I switch that to the 3000 the setting after I click on 'Page Setup' reverts to the standard 8.5x11 size although I 'pull down' my appropriate saved setting.
    Any help in resolving this problem would be greatly appreciated!

    Can you post a link to the article you are referring to?
    I assume you have tried using a nother USB sync cable to help rule out the possibility of a faulty one?  What about plugging the iPod into a different USB port on your Mac?
    It might help to remove any other USB devices you have connected to the Mac. Then reboot the Mac as well as your iPod by pressing and holding both the Select/Center and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear. Then try to resync.
    Could you provide the full text from the error messages you are referring to?
    Make sure you are running the latest version of iTunes (10.6.3).

    Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
    This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
    If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
    Triple-click the following line to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
    Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
    Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
    The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
    Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1 or if it doesn't solve the problem.
    Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
    from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
    In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
    Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
    Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not  going to reset a password.
    Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
    Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
    Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • Image Adjustments Not Saved with DNG?

    It appears that the adjustments (i.e. all of the work you do to "develop" your pictures) are not saved with the image file. They appear to be saved in the LR Library. So if anything happens to your library, your developing work is gone. I thought my adjustments were saved with the DNG, but this does not appear to be the case.
    So, to be sure that my work is saved with the image, it appears that the processed files must be saved to a different format like JPG, TIFF, or PSD. With JPG quality is lost, and your ability to edit is severely compromised. With PSD and TIFF, you have another copy of extremely large files to deal with.
    Is my understanding correct?
    What are your suggestions to deal with this?
    Thank you.

    Geoff and John,
    Thank you very much.
    You confirm the critical point that your work is saved in the Library, and the Library must be closely supervised and backed up.
    Beside my on-site backups, I set up a Stuffit schedule to back up a daily version of my library. My current library is 57.6MB and Stuffit compresses it to 8.7MB and automatically FTPs it to my web site for archiving.
    I found that my 2GB file of previews is unnecessary, since my computer creates new previews almost as quickly as it reads the preview file, at least on a folder basis. So, I removed my preview files, and I have them saved for only one day in prefrences.
    For my DNGs, beside my on-site backups, I create a DNG with the RAW (NEF) file embedded and back them up on my web site. Then I create DNGs with Adobe DNG converter, without embedded RAWs (LR embeds the RAWs)to use for my working files.
    One of the reasons I decided to use DNGs is to avoid having separate XMP files. However, it sounds like you can export the XMP to the DNG without creating separate XMPs. I'll look in to that. I assume that exporting the XMPs to the DNGs will allow me to open them directly in CS2 (not by exporting from LR) or other programs with my adjustments intact. This would solve the problem of losing adjustments if the Library becomes dysfunctional.
    Thanks again.

  • Bulk save as psd file not saved with Maximize Compatibility selected in preference

    I want to do a "bulk save as" for psd files that were not saved with Maximize File Compatibility selected in Preferences. I'm trying to import those files into LR5 but I get an error message. Or is there a work around for resolving this issue? I have both PS CS6 and PS CC. Also Bridge for both. I've just subscribed to LR5.

    LR does not support Layers, PSD files may have layers so you may have a problem using LR to do what you want to do.
    Set your Photoshop Preferences to always save with Max Compatibility.
    Record a save action one step menu File>save.
    Then use Adobe Bridge menu Edit>Find to find all your PSD files.
    Then select all and use menu Tools>Photoshop>Batch  and if your lucky and don't catch an Adobe Bug Photoshop will start and the Batch dialog will open,  You can the set the Save Action Set and the Save Action  all the PSD selected in the Bridge should open and saved.
    I cancelled the search short here the search for all psd files could take a very long time and did not run the batch.
    You will have a better chance not catching an Adobe bug if Photoshop is not up and running when you use the here.  Bridge may try to start a different version of Photoshop then the one running when you use menu tools>Photoshop>Batch.  Bridge CC was updated to start CC 2014 there is no bridge CC 2014.

  • PDF Setup Options not saving

    I have been having trouble in Frame when I create a PDF (I think since Frame 9). Any time I tried to add or remove a paragraph tag to the Include Paragraphs it wouldn’t save my settings. This wasn’t a big deal at first. But when I started creating new manuals I started getting frustrated. Today I finally reached a point where I had to figure out what was going on. The first thing I did was notice that I didn’t have the most up-to date version of Frame. I’m all up-to-date now but it didn’t solve the problem.
    The solution - For some reason it's taking the PDF setup information for the whole book from the first document. So what you have to do is open the first document and then Save As PDF (you have to open it, you can’t just select it and then Save As PDF). Set up everything the way you want the same as usual. Then once you save that you can then do Save As PDF for the whole book and it works. If you need to change a setting or change a paragraph tag, you have to open the first doc again and save it there. It won't keep your changes in the book, just the first doc.

    Thanks for this post!  I just had the same problem with FrameMaker 10, and it worked as you described.
    Researching the matter, I discovered that while this behavior is undesirable, it's actually documented and works as designed!  Chapter 13, page 464 of "Using FrameMaker 10" (framemaker_10_help.pdf) has the following note:
    "In a book, the joboptions saved with the first file are applied to all files in the book. To get the desired results in the exported PDF file, open the first file. Then choose Format > Document > PDF Setup, adjust the settings, and click Set."
    How about moving those settings into the book file where they belong?

  • Some settings not saved in Presets file

    I'd like to setup my fme environment with preset Xml files
    (and with some dirty scripting hacks, we make the app load them
    automatically).
    Unfortunately, not all the Device settings are saved. There
    is a tuner specific Settings tab whose settings are not saved. So
    if I want to change the actual TV channel I have to use the GUI.
    Other settings (like crossbar_input) are found in the XML file.
    Is there a way to set entries that are not saved by the GUI
    directly in the XML presets file and make fme use them?

    What you're looking for is startup.xml, which will be in the
    application data directory for the current user. On my Vista
    machine, the path looks like this:
    Drive:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Flash Media
    Encoder\startup.xml
    that's where all of the current UI settings are stored. So
    you know, startup.xml is UTF-16 encoded and it needs to stay that
    way, and (for some reason) there needs to be a blank line at the
    end of the file.
    Hope it helps

  • [solved] firefox user settings not saving

    I am a linux noob. So the answer to this is probably very obvious, but I haven't found it through googling, searching these forums or the arch wiki. I am having the same problem with most of my applications actually. The problem is that my firefox personal settings are not saving. When I reboot all of the addons are gone, the tabs are back on top, and everything is reset as if this were the first time I've run the program. I'm having a similar problem with lxpanel. I suspect it has something to do with post-installation home directory config files and not knowing what to do for each program. The only setup I've done for firefox is # yaourt -S firefox-esr. A whereis firefox-esr yields only /usr/bin/firefox-esr. Just the executable file itself I guess.
    Although the arch wiki firefox page doesn't seem to specifically mention losing all settings there is something about setting a download location that caught my eye: XDG directories:
    It says to create ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs and add:
    XDG_DESKTOP_DIR="/home/<user>/"
    XDG_DOWNLOAD_DIR="/home/<user>/<dir>"
    XDG_TEMPLATES_DIR="/home/<user>/<dir>"
    XDG_PUBLICSHARE_DIR="/home/<user>/<dir>"
    XDG_DOCUMENTS_DIR="/home/<user>/<dir>"
    XDG_MUSIC_DIR="/home/<user>/<dir>"
    XDG_PICTURES_DIR="/home/<user>/<dir>"
    XDG_VIDEOS_DIR="/home/<user>/<dir>"
    I'm not sure if this has something to do with the temporary nature of my personal firefox settings, but it seems like a move in the right direction. I get that tip of the iceberg feeling though. I've been meaning to look up all of that freedesktop.org stuff including .desktop and .directory files and standard locations. I assume that this is part of that and not only for firefox specifically.
    If anyone could point me in the right direction in terms of how to set up the user directories and files necessary for saving firefox settings I would be very grateful. Or maybe I installed the program wrong?
    I am not using a desktop environmnt. Just (for the moment) pekwm, lxpanel, and idesk. Presumably that's part of the problem. That going modular is much more difficult for a Linux noob. If I were using kde or gnome I'm guessing a lot of this post-installation application setup would be done for me automatically.
    edit: I just found this information on the location of the firefox profile in linux.  It says that profile folders are located in "~/.mozilla/firefox/<profile folder>". At first I thought I didn't have this folder, but I do. So I'm not sure why the settings and addons are not saving.

    It might be a better idea to change permissions with "chown" : https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Permissions#chown

  • Graphic EQ settings not saving??

    Hi. I've just installed an old version of soundtrack 1.2 which I've never used before but I'm very familiar with other DAWs and finding this nice to use.
    I'm using it for live backing track purposes with 10 songs in sequence in their own tracks and the plan was to have the Apple graphic EQ assigned to every track so that I can EQ each song to sound it's best at gigs. The problem is that for some reason each time I've set them, saved session and rebooted, all the EQs have been reset to flat (either that or simply not saved).
    I have now removed all Graphic eqs and I've assigned Ozone to each track temporarily (risking CPU overload really) so that it's usable and the Ozone settings are saving fine.
    Can anyone shed some light please, this is weird. (incidentally, the Graphic EQ checkboxes are all checked in effects window).
    Thanks- grateful for any help.

    Hi,
    10 songs in sequence maybe too much, Graphic EQ should can save all the settings.

  • Outlook view settings not saved

    I have one user who looses all View settings when restarting Outlook. Occasionally they will save, but it is very rare. Setting the Reading Pane to Off is one good example of a setting that does not save.
    The creation of new Views is also not saved. After restarting Outlook, the new View does not appear in Manage All Views.
    I have tried creating a new Outlook profile and I'm told that Office 2013 C2R has been re-installed since this problem started.
    Outlook 2013 Click-To-Run via an Office 365 E3 subscription. Exchange Online mailbox. Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    Basically, Outlook view settings are stored in the default data file. If the data file is corrupt or recreated every time Outlook restarts, the view settings may be not saved.
    Does the user use Outlook with Cached Exchange mode enabled? If so, please go to
    C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Outlook Files and check if you have multiple .ost files in the folder.
    In addition, you may try to switch to turn off Cached Exchange mode and then test this issue again.
    Please let me know the result.
